BaileyFemale17 MonthsPoodle x(we think there may be cairn terrier mixed in there?)Reason for surrender – neighbour complaints relating to noiseLittle Bailey has really struggled with the stress of kennel life, sadly the little lady spent the first two days hiding under her bed. While most of the dogs overcome this fear it seemed Baileys was extreme so she hasn’t spent a night in the kennel since. We have had Bailey live between our office and living room, she has fortunately really settled and built some lovely relationships with the team.Bailey isn’t used to a lot of visitors to her previous home and this coupled with her reactions here would lead us to say she will need a quieter home with no young children. We will consider homes with children aged 13 + years.Bailey may be able to live with another dog pending successful meet and greets.AN APPLICATION FORM MUST BE COMPLETED TO BE CONSIDEREDWe are open Wednesdays and Saturdays from 1.30pm – 4.00pm.If you are interested in offering this dog a home and you meet the criteria listed, then please click on the following link to complete an online application or visit us during the above days and times. If you are being considered, we will be in touch to arrange an appointment for you to meet the dog and start the rehoming process. All parts of the form must be completed to ensure your application can be processedIf you are being considered to commence the adoption process you will receive a call from a number ending in 081 or 993; due to time constraints there will be a limited timescale to answer or respond to our message.https://midantrim.org/dog-application

SexFemale

BreedBorder Terrier x Cairn Terrier

Jess and Jake are looking for a quiet home where they can have company most of the time and a garden. Terrier experience would be great. (Jess is on the left in the profile photo, Jake on the right).Jess and Jake are good guard dogs and will bark when someone is at the door. They get excited meeting visitors but will settle within a few minutes. They can jump and get overexcited so would be best suited for older children. They can be left alone for a few hours and are generally well behaved in the home. They are both fine with going to the vets. Jess and Jake go to a groomer and have always been fine there, although Jess is sensitive about her dew claws being clipped. Jake will play with other dogs but can get a little snappy when play chasing, Jess too. Both wear a harness and do not tend to pull on the lead. They travel well in the car and really enjoy going for good walks. Their recall is fairly good, if there is nothing to chase (rabbits/squirrels)!Jake loves to run around and will do this happily on his own. He also loves being petted and getting attention, to the point he can be a bit pushy to get it. He loves a good cuddle. Jess also loves attention and is especially into her food, she loves her chews.Jess and Jake would love a new home where they can continue going on lovely walks and running and playing together. They have some Terrier traits so experience with the breed would be beneficial. Please apply for this adorable duo if you think you have the right home for Jess and Jake.

GORGEOUS PEGGY IS NOW LOOKING FOR A NEW HOME. THIS LADY ADORES PEOPLE BUT IS NOT A FAN OF OTHER DOGS.Peggy is a beautiful, sweet and very affectionate Cairn Terrier cross. She loves people and was adopted by our charity in 2020 to a couple. After the man of the house passed away eighteen months ago the female adopter now has a new partner who also owns a dog. Due to Peggy not getting along with other dogs this has now resulted in Peggy having to find a new home. Despite Peggy living in the home for over five years she has become the last on the list to be considered. Words have failed us and Peggy remains our priority so today (30th December) we have taken Peggy back into kennels. We are upset that Peggy's welfare has not been considered however are moving forward to find her a very loving home where someone will offer her the love, management and care she deserves. In 2020 Peggy came into our care from the stray kennels. She was one year old approximately and was unsocialised. She was adopted knowing that she was not a huge fan of other dogs. She has always loved people and is easily managed on her walks. We are yet again working hard to focus on more guidance and training techniques for Peggy. Cairn Terriers are amazing and very loving dogs. They need stronger ownership. This little lady is adorable and sadly she is now back in kennels and is bewildered and confused. Our hearts are heavy however we remain positive and reach our to find her a loving home with humans that are not detached from their pets. Peoples lives change however the commitment for rescue dogs is essential for their lifetime. This is a must have and needs careful consideration prior to adoption. They should never become surplus to a humans requirement and they should remain your focus and priority despite what changes in your life. There are now so many stray and abandoned dogs in Yorkshire. We are a small charity and are extremely full. We reach out to people that are supportive and understand the needs of rescue dogs. If you feel you can offer Peggy a new start then we would love to hear from you. Please read the details below about this very sweet and loving dog and what home she requires.Peggy is affectionate and a very sweet Cairn Terrier cross. She is now looking for a new home through no fault of her own. Peggy needs a pet free home as she is not a fan of other dogs. We are now working with her and she has already been walked around Wath Lake near kennels. We are working hard to correct her behaviour without having to add extra pressures for this bewildered lady at the moment. Peggy needs a home that love her breed and understand not all dogs are perfect. Peggy is clean in the home and has lived for over five years with the same people. She will need an enclosed garden, plenty of walks and mountains of company. This little dog is fully vaccinated and was spayed as part of our adoption procedure many years ago. Peggy has so much love to give and we are now desperately searching to find her the love and life she deserves. Please consider Peggy for adoption. Peggy is our only small dog at Good Life. We welcome calls to discuss her needs. We have many dogs looking for a new forever home and so many dogs that are all deserving of a new start.
