Ben is a loving and gentle 10-year-old with an abundance of energy for his age. He absolutely adores people and, in his excitement to greet them, may sometimes jump up to say hello. Ben is great with children and friendly with other dogs, making him a wonderful companion for a family home. Ben hasn’t lived with cats.He loves attention and will happily roll onto his back for a tummy rub. Ben enjoys playing with toys, especially when you join in for a game of fetch or tug. He currently has two short walks a day due to a damaged cruciate but can be strong on the lead, so he wears a harness to help manage his enthusiasm. Ben will need daily medication for the rest of his life: this will be supported by our charity.Ben would ideally suit a home where someone is around most of the time, as he can become anxious when left alone and shows signs of separation anxiety. He has recently completed a weight-loss programme and is now at a healthy weight. He is fed twice a day and patiently waits while his meals are prepared.Fully house-trained, Ben will go to the door when he needs to go out and may bark to let you know if you haven’t noticed. He understands basic commands and is an all-round happy dog with a loyal, affectionate nature.Ben is ready to find the loving home he truly deserves — one where he can enjoy companionship, gentle exercise, and plenty of cuddles. Could you be the person to give Ben his forever home?

Battersea Dogs & Cats Home
Say hello to our beautiful teenager Casper!Casper is a young Golden Retriever who came into Battersea displaying behaviours typical of an adolescent dog. He was recently rehomed but returned after a couple of days due to challenges with overstimulation and resource guarding, highlighting the importance for Casper to be rehomed to new owners that can provide him with ongoing guidance and consistency as he matures.Without consistent supervision and management, these behaviours are likely to continue throughout adolescence. Caspar's training should focus on reliable drop cues, appropriate exchanges, settle cues, and “off” cues. Care must be taken to ensure exchanges are managed thoughtfully so unwanted behaviours are not accidentally reinforced. His new home will also need to be Casper-proofed, with items kept out of reach or securely stored to prevent him from accessing them.Casper would be best suited to an adult-only home with committed owners, and the new home will need a large private garden. He is a truly sweet and affectionate boy with a wonderfully endearing side that is ready to shine as he grows in confidence and maturity. He is a fun and active dog looking for loving, dedicated owners who are passionate about training and prepared to help him become the very best version of himself! He has some good social skills with other dogs and also some adolescent ones, already tried and tested in a home with dogs which was not successful due to Casper's frustration. He has been friendly with both known and unknown humans. If you have already completed our online rehoming form and would like to know more about Casper you can e-mail our rehoming team on rehoming@battersea.org.uk to register your interest. We ask every customer to first complete our online form before we discuss an individual dog, so if you have not filled in our form yet you can find the details on how to do so here: https://www.battersea.org.uk/rehome/dogsPlease be aware that we have a large amount of interest in rehoming our animals, so we are only able to contact those that are a match for the dog you have contacted us about.

Clemmie is a gentle 6-year-old girl who has come on beautifully since being in our care. When she first arrived, she found the world quite overwhelming and was worried by new people and unfamiliar situations. With time, patience and kindness, Clemmie has really begun to blossom. She is now much more confident and affectionate with people she knows, and her lovely personality is shining through. Clemmie walks beautifully on the lead and enjoys being out and about, happily sniffing and pottering around at her own pace.Clemmie would benefit from a calm, quiet and experienced family home where she can continue to build her confidence. As she’s still learning about home life, she will need patient and understanding owners to continue her training. She is comfortable around other dogs and could live with a calm, well-mannered companion.Clemmie is a sweet, loving girl who has made such wonderful progress and is now ready to find a home of her own.

Introducing Handsome Clive. Clive is a cheeky chappie, at only 25kg, a very small sized golden retriever with a hint of spaniel in him.Clive was going to be euthanised on behaviourist recommendation due to his ‘resource guarding’ which resulted in several bites in the home. Upon further assessment of him, we do believe his ‘resource guarding’ is for attention and learned behaviour, not because he sees the item as high value. This type of guarding is workable and with management, we believe it can be stopped altogether. With the correct management in the kennels, the team haven’t had any bite incidents with him. The kennel behaviour team are happy to work with you for as long as needed to continue his training and help with the adjustment back into a home.Clive is great with other dogs and could happily live with another female dog. He has not shown any guarding behaviours towards dogs and shares toys and space with them quite happily. He is great with people & will always get top prize for waggiest tail. He tends to get excited when going out on a walk and can be quite bouncy but does calm down after a little while.Clive has a very cheeky personality and will be that dog to run away with your slipper. He gives the best cuddles, he loves a groom and also weirdly loves the vets too.Clive needs a rural/semi rural home with a nice secure garden with lawn to do zoomies, an experienced owner with resource guarding experience and someone who is willing to put in the time to help CliveGuaranteed to take your breath away he truly is extremely handsome. If Clive’s stunning looks have melted your heart please get in touch

They are extremely friendly and affectionate and well behaved little dogs, but they do have separation anxiety when left, so they will need to have someone around for most of the time. Yappy Ever After
Emilia is now ready for adoption. Here is her foster-mum’s write-up…Emilia is a 6-year-old ex-breeding female.Emilia has had minimal interaction with dogs and people before coming to us and is extremely nervous. There are two sides to Emilia…. inside the house Emilia and outside the house Emilia!!Inside the house, shes had to adapt to being indoors. She is not used to central heating and her body has had to adapt. She was not toilet trained, stole food off the table and generally was not used to being inside. She now has manners and doesn’t steal food. She is toilet trained for the majority of the time, she plays with toys, loves cuddly toys and tennis balls and loves lying with you, holding your hand with her paw and getting fussed. She adores being brushed/groomed.She eats well and knows her own bowl from the resident dogs bowl. She now knows to leave treats meant for the resident dog and that her treats are her own. There was an element of possessiveness and growling over both toys and food. This has now completely gone. She has an understanding now that no one will take away anything from her.She is confident in the home now and she is far more relaxed in the home. She sleeps well all night and has a strict routine to help with her getting used to a home environment. She has her safe spaces around the house and loves lying in the corner of a room and watching what everyone is doing.Outdoor Emilia is currently trying to overcome the huge amounts of different sights and smells that come with being outdoors. She has gone from no walks ever to walking 3 times a day. Some walks are easier than others. This is dependant on what she encounters on the walk and where we go. She is very nervous of a huge number of things. Some are improving, some are not! She is now moderately used to cars, car doors, other dogs within reason, other people. She definitely does not like umbrellas, children (particularly screaming ones), pushchairs and anybody running such as a football match. She is very strong on the lead. We have tried various methods of walking and have found a chest harness the most suitable for her. I am almost certain that the majority of these behaviours will subside with time and regular walks and training. She would thrive from doing some behavioral training once settled. She would suit a rural environment that is a calm and peaceful home where she could relax and enjoy her retirement. Emilia would be fine with or without another dog. She has looked to the resident dog for guidance when unsure. But enjoys human company more than another dog.Emilia has recently had her vaccinations. She arrived with an ear infection in both ears, which is being treated daily with ear spray. It is now under control and her medication has nearly finished.Emilia will need to stay fairly local as she needs to be spayed at one the rescue’s vet practices.

GOOSE - RESERVEDGoose is a 4-year-old Golden Retriever. He needs a special home with dog experienced owners. No children - he has bite history (seems to be a male thing). He is a bundle of fun and mischief and we are hoping that the bite will not occur again, but as we can't promise this, a special home is required. Good with other dogs, not met cats. Are you right for Lance?Lance is looking for a home with active adopters who can take him for sniffy adventures in quiet walking areas, or for a run around in a private field, adopters who can advocate for his space when out and about. He could live with college/sixth form aged children who can play with him nicely and will give him space to rest when he needs. Lance finds being in close proximity to dogs very worrying, so would like to be the only pet in the home so he can have all of the attention to himself, in a home with no neighbouring dogs. Lance has some training under his belt, he does a lovely “sit”, “paw” and is “muzzle trained” as he will be going home on a lead and muzzle disclaimer. He is a clever but busy boy and gets distracted easily so could engage in training in short, sweet sessions with the help of a tasty treat for encouragement. He is looking for a home with a private, secure garden for him to potter about in. Lance can settle in the home nicely, so could be left for up to 2-4 hours, this would need to be built up slowly once he has had time to settle in. Lance is on daily medication and will need to meet his adopters multiple times prior to going home, with possible home visits to make sure he is settling in well, so please bear this in mind when applying. Please note that should you be shortlisted, our rehoming process usually takes up to 7 days, and potential adopters would be required to come up to the centre to meet him within 48hrs of being shortlisted.

Are you right for Lottie?Meet Lottie, a sweet 14-year-old Golden Doodle looking for a loving home. Lottie has lived a sheltered life, primarily with other dogs, and is still learning to socialise outside her familiar environment. She has done well with other dogs in kennels, though she thrives in the company of calm and gentle companions. Lottie has the potential to live with another quiet dog or even a cat, given proper introductions. Lottie is friendly and enjoys attention once she gets to know you, though she can be a little shy due to her past. A quieter home with children aged 8 and older would be ideal. Her favourite pastimes include lounging on a comfortable sofa and receiving affection from her favourite people.
