Are you right for Bernie?Bernie is dreaming of a peaceful home where life is nice and predictable. He prefers the quieter things, so he will be happiest in a calm household with minimal visitors, where he can truly relax without lots of hustle and bustle. He is looking to be the only pet in the home, soaking up all the love and attention for himself. A private garden is a must for Bernie, giving him a safe space to potter about, enjoy a sniff, or have a quick game before heading back indoors for a snooze.Bernie is looking for an adult only home. He can feel worried around children so it is really important that any children around him are well managed and respectful of his space. Any visiting children will need to be aged 12+. Out and about, Bernie is happy to spot other dogs on walks, as long as they keep their distance. He much prefers to enjoy his walk at his own pace. Bernie has been left for a couple of hours in the past without any issues, but any leaving time will need to be gently built up once he has settled into his new home.Is Bernie right for you?Bernie is a 6-and-a-half-year-old Golden Doodle with a big soft side once he feels safe and secure. With his family, he enjoys being close, sharing cuddles, and spending time chilling together. If you are wondering how to win Bernie’s heart, the answer is simple: treats, tug-toys, and games. Tug ropes are a firm favourite, he loves chasing balls and a game of hide and seek with his toys is guaranteed to get his tail wagging. He also knows his basic training, is housetrained and is a very good passenger in the car, making trips out together easy and enjoyable.Bernie is not keen on lots of visitors or young children, but in the right home, his loving, playful side really shines through. If you have a calm home, a gentle routine and are looking for a loyal companion who will reward you with affection, fun, and plenty of cuddles, Bernie could be the perfect match.

Clive, a 2 years old male Golden Retriever available for adoption from 1 Dog At A Time Rescue UK in Nottinghamshire

Introducing Handsome Clive. Clive is a cheeky chappie, at only 25kg, a very small sized golden retriever with a hint of spaniel in him.Clive was going to be euthanised on behaviourist recommendation due to his ‘resource guarding’ which resulted in several bites in the home. Upon further assessment of him, we do believe his ‘resource guarding’ is for attention and learned behaviour, not because he sees the item as high value. This type of guarding is workable and with management, we believe it can be stopped altogether. With the correct management in the kennels, the team haven’t had any bite incidents with him. The kennel behaviour team are happy to work with you for as long as needed to continue his training and help with the adjustment back into a home.Clive is great with other dogs and could happily live with another female dog. He has not shown any guarding behaviours towards dogs and shares toys and space with them quite happily. He is great with people & will always get top prize for waggiest tail. He tends to get excited when going out on a walk and can be quite bouncy but does calm down after a little while.Clive has a very cheeky personality and will be that dog to run away with your slipper. He gives the best cuddles, he loves a groom and also weirdly loves the vets too.Clive needs a rural/semi rural home with a nice secure garden with lawn to do zoomies, an experienced owner with resource guarding experience and someone who is willing to put in the time to help CliveGuaranteed to take your breath away he truly is extremely handsome. If Clive’s stunning looks have melted your heart please get in touch

Max, a 6 years old male Shar Pei x Golden Retriever available for adoption from Celandine Wood in Wales

BreedShar Pei x Golden Retriever

Max is a 6 year old Shar Pei x Retriever searching for his new family through no fault of his own. He’s a truly lovely boy with a big heart. Happy, affectionate and full of personality. Max enjoys nothing more than a good walk, a run in the fresh air and then coming home to relax by your side. He’s also content pottering around the house! Max has grown up around older children, but he would really thrive in a calm, adult-only home where he can settle. While he can sometimes get along with other dogs, we feel he’d be happiest as the only pet, soaking up all the love and attention for himself. He can be a little unsure when meeting new people, so he just needs someone patient who will give him the time and gentle introductions he needs to build trust. Once he does, you’ll see what a loyal and special companion he truly is. Max would be perfect for someone who enjoys their walks and wants a best friend who can match their energy, but also curl up and relax at the end of the day. He’s waiting for someone to see just how wonderful he is and give him the loving home he deserves

Red, a 3 years old male Golden Retriever available for adoption from Dogs Trust in West Sussex

West Sussex

Are you right for Red?Red is a 3-year-old looking for a home where he can continue to grow in confidence at his own pace. This sensitive young lad would thrive with patient adopters who appreciate the small wins and are happy to let trust build naturally over time. A home with a secure garden is essential, giving him space to settle while he works on housetraining and building confidence walking on lead. Red would love to live with another friendly, steady dog, as he has been happiest in the company of his canine friends and would gain so much reassurance from a role model. He would suit a quieter rural, residential or small town setting with low traffic and limited noise, as the big wide world can still feel scary and overwhelming to him. He could live with older teenagers as long as they understand the importance of giving him space, and a household with few visitors would help him feel safe while he adjusts. Is Red right for you?Once Red begins to trust you, he shows glimpses of the lovely companion he is waiting to become. He is a gentle, curious boy who likes to quietly investigate the world, and although touch can still worry him at times, he has started to enjoy chest scratches! And if he sees you stroking another dog, he’ll often pop up close and ask for attention too. Red loves toys and can happily entertain himself, bringing a playful spark to his personality. Everyday, Red grows in confidence, developing a special bond with his handlers. For someone willing to move at his pace, Red shows all the signs of being an incredibly rewarding companion whose trust, affection and playful spirit will feel truly special.
