About Almost Home

Almost Home North Wales is a small, passionate dog rescue based in North Wales, dedicated to giving abandoned dogs a safe haven and the chance to live “the good life.” The charity rescues and rehomes dogs with their welfare always at the centre, prioritising local pound dogs and urgent social cases, while carefully matching each dog to the most suitable home. Alongside rehoming, the rescue is strongly committed to education—supporting responsible ownership, raising awareness of cruelty and exploitation, and helping young people understand and respect dogs. Supported by qualified behaviour specialists and experienced volunteers, the charity offers lifetime support to adopters and fosterers. Guided by compassion and advocacy, it actively campaigns against puppy farming, online dog sales, and practices that cause unnecessary suffering to dogs.

Everyone meet our next resident …. Isaac!️‍This lad originally came into our care in an awful state from the pound with other lurchers! He was skinny, had wounds and had been shaved!Thankfully he went straight in to foster and did amazing. He was fab with the other dogs, people and a good lad - who’s only around 18 months oldHe got adopted and now has sadly been returned as he can be reactive to dogs when out and about. So now he’s back with us and doing some socialisation training which he is doing very well with!! He has proven time and time again he can socialise and make friends. Just on lead at times he panics but soon settles. In the house, he is doing great!!l. Isaac is best in a home with older children or adults only. He is housetrained and loves a good game of tug!Isaac is now vaccinated, flead, wormed, mircochipped and neutered. He is at the right weight and has always been a good lad at the vets!️This lad is doing so well in his new foster home. He listens to clear commands and takes on board what you’re saying. He is an active and clever lad who needs and confident handler.. He’s current walking on a headcollar and is doing so well. Isaac is learning to walk with dogs and not bark. He is reactive as he never had the right socialisation when younger. But he is adapting daily! We see so proud of this lad and how far he has some in a short spaceof time. As always we see here to support any new adopter. You get behavioural and rescue back up for life. Someone just needs to give this lad a chance.Please share this handsome lad so he can find his forever humans!Remember to complete the form below if you’re interested in adoption;
