Everyone, meet Alvin! Alvin is a handsome 8 year old Beagle who is every bit the classic Beagle hound. He can happily be a lazy lump when it’s time to relax, but the moment that nose hits the ground, he’s off on his next adventure! Alvin is a gentle, settled boy who enjoys life’s simple pleasures and has a lovely, easy-going nature. He absolutely loves the companionship of other dogs and currently shares his kennel with Kara, who is also looking for a home. If someone is considering welcoming two dogs into their family, Alvin and Kara could potentially be rehomed together. However, we also feel Alvin would settle beautifully in a home with another friendly resident dog. Alvin is brilliant with children, has previously lived with cats, and has impeccable manners. Honestly, we struggle to find anything negative to say about him! Meet Arthur ️ Arthur is a little Jack Russell with a gentle soul and a story that would melt your heart. Estimated to be around 7–8 years old, Arthur hasn’t had the easiest life. He came from a property where there were many, many dogs being used for breeding, spending his days in breeding sheds with very little opportunity to experience the things most dogs take for granted. As a result, Arthur is a shy boy who finds the world a little overwhelming at times. But every single day, we’re seeing a little more of his personality emerge, and what a lovely little character he is proving to be. There is something incredibly special about watching Arthur discover life. The simple things that other dogs have always known are completely new to him. A soft bed, gentle affection, feeling safe, having someone he can trust. Little by little, he is learning that people can be kind and that the world isn’t such a scary place after all. Arthur is looking for a quiet, settled home where he can continue to grow in confidence at his own pace. We think he would benefit from living with another calm, friendly dog who could show him the ropes, but most of all he needs a family willing to give him the patience, understanding and love he has missed out on for so many years. Daisy is a beautiful yellow Labrador who is looking for a very special home where she can learn that the world is kind and safe. She arrived in our care in a poor condition alongside her sister Storm, and while she is now safe, she remains a very nervous and lacking-in-confidence young girl. Daisy finds the world a little overwhelming at times, but beneath her worries is a gentle, loving dog who will give her whole heart once she trusts you. With time and patience, Daisy builds a strong bond with her people and becomes deeply affectionate and loyal. She simply needs the right environment to help her get there. Daisy is looking for: Daisy will need patience, reassurance, and kindness, but for the right person or family, she will blossom into a truly devoted and loving companion.

Everyone Meet Delores, Delores is a 4 year old Labrador. She is a gentle and loving girl in need of a patient and understanding family. This sweet girl came from a rough start in life and is now learning to trust humans and how fun it can be to be a free dog. Because of her background, Delores has some specific needs: • Another established dog in the home to help her feel secure and gain confidence. • A calm, patient forever friend who can take things slow and allow her to blossom at her own pace. • A quiet, loving environment where she can thrive. • A home with children 12+ Though she may be shy at first, Delores is incredibly sweet and responds well to kindness and consistency. Whilst at Almost Home Delores has begun to trust people and will enjoy a chin scratch. She enjoys lying stretched out in her own bed and happily plays with her Almost Home neighbours. She will require consistency with her lead training in her new home. With the right family, Delores will make an affectionate and loyal companion for any family willing to give her the time to shine. Dorothy is a 6-year-old pointer cross looking for a calm, understanding home where she can feel safe and settled. She is very much an indoor dog who loves comfort and being close to her people. Dorothy is an extremely sociable girl who enjoys the company of other dogs and would likely thrive in a home with canine companions and plenty of open space to explore. Dorothy can find busy environments overwhelming, particularly heavy traffic, busy roads and loud surroundings, so she is looking for a peaceful, quieter lifestyle. She absolutely enjoys walks in forests, along rivers, on beaches and in open spaces where she feels relaxed and comfortable. She is good with children, however we feel an older, calmer home would suit her best where her boundaries and need for peace can be respected. An ideal home for Dorothy could be somewhere rural or semi-rural, perhaps with a secure garden, open land or even a farm-style environment where she can enjoy life at a gentler pace alongside other dogs. She is a lovely, affectionate girl who simply needs the right environment to truly flourish ️

Meet Dusty! Dusty is a 3 year old Belgian Malinois x with a love of life and an even bigger love of learning. She’s incredibly intelligent and thrives when her mind is kept busy, whether that’s through training, puzzle games, or picking up new skills. If you’re looking for a dog who enjoys working with her person, Dusty is your girl! She absolutely adores people and is happiest when she’s out and about on an adventure or spending quality time with her favourite humans. Long walks are one of her favourite things, and she’s always ready to explore When out on walks, Dusty wears a muzzle as she isn’t comfortable around other dogs and prefers to keep her distance. Her future family will need to continue managing this with positive training and sensible handling, but in return they’ll gain a loyal, affectionate companion who forms strong bonds with the people she loves Dusty is searching for an experienced home that understands the needs of her breed and can give her the mental stimulation, exercise and companionship she deserves. With the right family by her side, she’s sure to make an incredible best friend.

Meet Ellie 11-year-old Ellie is a lovely little Bichon Frise with a sweet and gentle nature. This older girl still has plenty of life in her and enjoys her walks, little adventures, and getting out to explore the world around her. When the day is done, Ellie is more than happy to curl up beside you on the sofa for cuddles and company. She has that perfect balance of enjoying her outings while also appreciating the comfort of a warm home. Ellie is good with other dogs, but cats are not her cup of tea. She would be best suited to a home with children aged 12+. A kind-hearted wee companion ready to bring love and loyalty to her forever home.

Little Elodie is around two years old and is a sweet, quiet-natured little girl who can be a little shy when you first meet her. Give her a little time and patience, however, and you’ll soon see her lovely, happy personality begin to shine through. Elodie would ideally love a home with another friendly dog to help build her confidence and show her the ropes. That said, we would consider a home where she is the only dog if her family are around most of the time and can give her all the love, reassurance and companionship she needs. She’s a good girl who could happily live with sensible children aged 12 and over. All Elodie is looking for is a kind and understanding family who will let her settle at her own pace and watch her blossom into the wonderful companion we know she can be. ️

Meet Evie From the tiny little girl who first arrived with us to the beautiful young Golden Labrador she is today, Evie has blossomed into someone very special. Watching her confidence grow has been a real privilege. While she’s still a shy girl, every day she becomes a little braver, learning that people can be kind and that the world isn’t such a scary place. Evie absolutely adores other dogs and would happily share her home with a confident canine companion who could continue to show her the ropes. Having another dog in the home would really help her settle and flourish. Once Evie gets to know you and learns to trust you, you’ll have a best friend for life. Her lead walking is coming on really well, and she’s discovering just how much fun life can be. Evie is looking for a patient, understanding family who will let her continue to grow at her own pace. Our Hope – her name means to have “confidence and trust” and that we have in this girl Life hasn’t been easy for Hope but it can only get better from here, from a life with very little interaction to rescue where she is surrounded by love daily. We can see this girl for the first time start to have Hope in herself and have watched with great pride as her amazing personality starts to shine through. Hope can still be nervous around new people but we’ve learnt another confident dog soon starts to bring out her confidence She is adored by all volunteers and we trust that Hope will make the perfect family member. Meet Kara ️ Kara is a lovely older crossbreed, around seven to eight years old, with the sweetest, gentlest nature. She’s the kind of dog who’s simply happy to spend time with you, whatever you’re doing. She enjoys pottering around the garden, loves a gentle stroll, and is equally content curling up in her bed for a cosy nap. Kara is a clean and tidy girl who asks for very little—just a loving home where she can enjoy life’s simple pleasures. Sadly, Kara came into our care as a stray. She wasn’t microchipped, and despite every effort to trace her owner, no one came forward to claim her. Now she’s ready to find the forever home she truly deserves. Kara would make a wonderful companion for an older person or a quieter household looking for a calm, loyal friend. She’s happiest by your side, whether that’s enjoying a gentle wander around the garden or simply relaxing together at home. Her hearing isn’t the best these days—although she somehow never misses the sound of a packet of treats being opened! We like to think she might just have a touch of selective hearing. Kara is a settled, content, and affectionate girl with so much love to give. She’s ready to become a cherished member of a family who will appreciate just how special she is.
