About Angels 4 Dogs

Angels 4 Dogs was founded in 2011 in Thanet, Kent by a group of compassionate volunteers committed to rescuing and rehoming stray and unwanted dogs. What began as a small local effort has grown into a dedicated rescue supporting UK pound dogs at risk of euthanasia as well as Romanian dogs who have suffered neglect and abuse. Driven by the belief that every dog deserves a loving forever home, the team works tirelessly to transform broken lives into hopeful futures. With the support of volunteers, donors and adopters, Angels 4 Dogs continues its mission to be a lifeline for dogs in need.

Archie, a Unknown old male Greyhound available for adoption from Angels 4 Dogs in Kent

Angels 4 Dogs

Archie

Kent
SexMale
AgeUnknown
BreedGreyhound

Archie is a wonderful big greyhound with a typical greyhound nature! He is extemely sweet and a very laid back boy. Archie is house clean and a well-behaved house guest in his foster home. He enjoys walks and long afternoon naps. He lives with two other lurcher boys and is very well behaved with them, he enjoys a little play and then back to snoozing! He travels well in the car and recently passed a health check at the vets. He has an old leg injury from this that has been operated on.Archie does having a racing history so no small furries please! Here's what his foster mum says: Archie has settled well into a foster home with two other male sighthounds. No food aggression or any dog aggression shown. Typical greyhound- loves his food and loves his comfort- very quickly has made the sofa his choice of seating. Clean in the house. Not too confident on the stairs- good going up but still a work in progress getting back down! Gets into the car and travels well in the car now(although perhaps a larger car would be useful!!) Good with other dogs when out on a walk and loves people. Walks beautifully on the lead - unless there’s a squirrel in sight! I can manage the three large boys with one hand. Rarely barks. Takes treats nicely and tends to keep all four feet on the floor when he’s greeting you which is a relief as he’s as tall as I am! Very cuddly in the house and good recall outside. Typical countersurfer- often find things squirrelled away in his bed though non destructive- just a thief. He would like to live with another dog although not essential. Doesn’t need loads of exercise. Archie is a very lovely and loving dog- well regulated emotionally- will walk away from confrontation rather than escalate it. He’s got a really good, kind nature and positive attitude to life. Archie needs a secure garden with 6ft fencing minimum and no gaps at all.As with all dogs on going training will be needed. Archie can live with dogs, no cats and children 12+ please.

Betty, a 5 years old female Crossbreed available for adoption from Angels 4 Dogs in Kent

Angels 4 Dogs

Betty

Kent
SexFemale
Age5 years
BreedCrossbreed

Betty came to us from Romania barely able to walk. She had spend years on a chain with such painful knees she could hardly lift her back to walk straight. So when she arrived in the UK we got Betty to the vets were she was diagnosed with serve Luxcating Patella in both knees. Over the last 6-9 months Betty has undergone 2 major surgeries to correct her knees. She has now finally completed her last surgery and is well on the way to a full recovery. During this time she has been to hydrotherapy once a week which has helped here correct the drop in her back and in another few weeks she will be fully recovered. ( we will happily pay for hydrotherapy for Betty until she is fully recovered.)So it’s time to start looking for Betty’s forever home. Betty is one of the sweetest dogs I have met in a long fostering journey. Despite all she has been through she still looks to humans for comfort. She is however still very nervous and jumpy. Which will improve with time and patience. But I do believe Betty has been left with a few mental scars from her past. Despite this she is the most wonderful friendly dog who is great with adults and children alike. She is a very quiet and calm dog who loves nothing more than a short walk and a cosy bed. Betty is currently living with multiple dogs. She has become good friends with some of the adult dogs. But a little nervous of erratic puppies incase they jump on her and hurt her legs. But with slow introductions Betty will live to live with another small dog. Betty although absolutely loves attention will never be a lap dog. She is more comfortable in her bed. She is house clean and crate trained. She enjoys short walks but will never be up to long hikes. Anyone who ends up adopting Betty will be extremely lucky. Betty will need a secure garden with 6ft fencing minimum and no gaps at all.As with all dogs on going training will be needed.Betty can live with dogs, cats and children 8+

Cyril, a 1 year old male Crossbreed available for adoption from Angels 4 Dogs in Kent

Cyril

Kent
SexMale
Age1 year
BreedCrossbreed

Cyril has been in our care for quite some time time now. But we have finally had a break through and he is ready for his forever home.Cyril is currently in kennels and this is what our kennel coordinator had to say:Coming into the kennels was a big adjustments for Cyril, he was scared to put it simply. Of the noise, of his surroundings and of the faces that greeted him each day. Even moving to a different kennel was only possible when his favourite person and previous foster mum stepped in. He would bark at everyone to tell us to leave him alone because it was his only way to say to us he was terrified. He wasnt a fan of us going into his kennel space. But the weeks and months passed and he started to realise the regular faces gave him all the stuff he loved, food, toys, chews and mostly importantly attention. He started to wag his tail when the volunteers visited. He took treats, then a stroke and finally we slipped a lead on him and he crawled out of his kennel into the freedom of the Exercise field. He greeted us, You could see his relief at human contact. We saw the Cyril we knew again! The Cyril he had been in his foster home. Now he looks forward to his time, his fuss and his people! And is ready to find his well earned forever home. Cyril is a gorgeous boy who is crate trained, house trained and walks well on a lead. He is good with energy matched dogs and we work with him every week to help him feel more confident with every aspect he needs to succeed. Cyril will need a secure garden with 6ft minimum fencing and no gaps at all. As with all dogs on going training is needed.Cyril could possibly live with another dog. Preferably another similar size dog and probably better to be a female. He should be fine with cats with cardboard introductions and children 12+.

Dolly

Kent
SexFemale
Age3 years
BreedCrossbreed

Dolly came to us from Romania a number of months ago. Her life in Romania was beyond hellish. When we found her although safe from the beatings she was spending life on a chain. So Yasmine made her a promise to give her a better life. Unfortunately it’s not been going to plan and Dolly has now been returned to us for the 2nd time. Due to the abuse Dolly suffered in Romania she is fearful of men. So when she feels threatened she will communicate in the only way she knows how by giving you a growl to back off. It’s no aggression it fear and communication. So she needs a family that will understand, listen and respect her space when she is feeling unsure. Dolly is the most sweetest and loving dog you could imagine despite what humans have done to her. She has previously lived happily with other dogs. She loves a walk and will adore her human. She really does just want a cosy sofa and a family that will understand she needs time to trust and feel at home. She is house clean and crate trained. I promise you she is so worth the effort. Dolly needs a secure garden with 6ft fencing minimum and no gaps at all. As with all dogs on going training will be needed. Dolly can live with other dogs, she is not cat tested and no children please.

Flossie came to us as an emergency case. She had been taken to the vets with a life threatening condition that her owners were not prepared to treat. So after a week and already nearly dead Flossie was signed over to us. We never thought for one minute Flossie would survive but she wanted to live so badly. Finally Flossie is to a stage where she is ready to find her forever home. The only one last problem is Flossie has hip dysplasia. It’s quiet server and if she was younger we would consider a hip replacement but she has been through too much to do this as well. So instead on vet’s advice we will manage it with pain medication and hydrotherapy. As a rescue we will happily cover the costs of hydrotherapy and any on going issues related to the hips but everything else would be down to you the adopter. Flossie has had a rough life and now deserves the best retirement home we can offer her. So if you think you may be the right match please reach out. Floyd, a 1 year old male Crossbreed available for adoption from Angels 4 Dogs in Kent

Angels 4 Dogs

Floyd

Kent
SexMale
Age1 year
BreedCrossbreed

Floyd arrived with us from Romania over a year ago now. When he arrived he was completely shut down and so scared. But with time and patience Floyd has flourished into the wonderful dog he is today.A few weeks after Floyd arrived it became very clear he has some problems with his back legs. After X-rays we discovered he had hip dysplasia. We then had to wait for Floyd to finish growing before we were referred to a specialist in London. After many scans and more X-rays it became apparent his hip dysplasia was inoperable. There were just to many things going against the surgery being a success. So we made the decision not to operate and make Floyd’s life as comfortable as we could for as long as possible. Part of this was hydrotherapy. Which I can honestly say has changed his life. He has spent months building up the muscles to take over where his hip joints fail. He has gone from multiple pain medication to medication free and charging around like there is nothing wrong. But there is something wrong and we can’t fix it. So we need a very special family to adopt Floyd. A family that is willing to give him the best life ever until we can’t control the pain anymore. That may be in 5 years time or in 15 years time we just don’t know. So we are prepared to cover any medical costs related to Floyd’s hips and continue to pay for his weekly hydrotherapy which is in Deal. We will offer lifetime support to make sure Floyd has the best care we can give. Floyd is such a sweet and loving dog but he is nervous so it will take time for him to trust and love you. He has come so far from the nervous puppy that arrived. Floyd is crate trained and completely house clean. He lives a paddling pool and naps on the sofa.He is a big clumsy giant who I absolutely adore. He will break my heart when he leaves but it’s time for Floyd to get his happy ever after. Floyd will need a secure garden with 6ft fencing minimum and no gaps at all.As with all dogs on going training will be needed.Floyd can live with dogs, cats and children 12+
