About Angels 4 Dogs

Angels 4 Dogs was founded in 2011 in Thanet, Kent by a group of compassionate volunteers committed to rescuing and rehoming stray and unwanted dogs. What began as a small local effort has grown into a dedicated rescue supporting UK pound dogs at risk of euthanasia as well as Romanian dogs who have suffered neglect and abuse. Driven by the belief that every dog deserves a loving forever home, the team works tirelessly to transform broken lives into hopeful futures. With the support of volunteers, donors and adopters, Angels 4 Dogs continues its mission to be a lifeline for dogs in need.

Archie

BreedGreyhound

Archie is a wonderful big greyhound with a typical greyhound nature! He is extemely sweet and a very laid back boy. Archie is house clean and a well-behaved house guest in his foster home. He enjoys walks and long afternoon naps. He lives with two other lurcher boys and is very well behaved with them, he enjoys a little play and then back to snoozing! He travels well in the car and recently passed a health check at the vets. He has an old leg injury from this that has been operated on.Archie does having a racing history so no small furries please! Here's what his foster mum says: Archie has settled well into a foster home with two other male sighthounds. No food aggression or any dog aggression shown. Typical greyhound- loves his food and loves his comfort- very quickly has made the sofa his choice of seating. Clean in the house. Not too confident on the stairs- good going up but still a work in progress getting back down! Gets into the car and travels well in the car now(although perhaps a larger car would be useful!!) Good with other dogs when out on a walk and loves people. Walks beautifully on the lead - unless there’s a squirrel in sight! I can manage the three large boys with one hand. Rarely barks. Takes treats nicely and tends to keep all four feet on the floor when he’s greeting you which is a relief as he’s as tall as I am! Very cuddly in the house and good recall outside. Typical countersurfer- often find things squirrelled away in his bed though non destructive- just a thief. He would like to live with another dog although not essential. Doesn’t need loads of exercise. Archie is a very lovely and loving dog- well regulated emotionally- will walk away from confrontation rather than escalate it. He’s got a really good, kind nature and positive attitude to life. Archie needs a secure garden with 6ft fencing minimum and no gaps at all.As with all dogs on going training will be needed. Archie can live with dogs, no cats and children 12+ please.

This is Barry. He arrived recently from Romania.Barry has clearly had a rough time in Romania and been left with a big scar on the back of his head . After a recent vet trip we have been informed that Barry does not have any sight in his right eye and does show some neurological deficits. Unfortunately there is nothing to be done and Barry has adapted well. He will always just be a little different. But the love he has to give will make up for any loss. Barry unfortunately was unable to find a foster placement so has found himself in kennels. Barry has shown him self to be a typical bouncy and friendly Pointer. He loves attention and is desperate to find himself a foster or forever home.Barry is slowly meeting all the volunteers and kennel staff and loving and time he has with them. He has been a good boy and loving discovering toys and what life should be like. Can you offer Barry a spot on your sofa ? Barry will need a secure garden with 6ft fencing minimum and no gaps at all.As with all dogs on going training will be needed. Barry can live with dogs, he is not cat tested and children 12+ please.

Cyril

Age1 year
BreedCrossbreed

Cyril has been in our care for quite some time time now. But we have finally had a break through and he is ready for his forever home.Cyril is currently in kennels and this is what our kennel coordinator had to say:Coming into the kennels was a big adjustments for Cyril, he was scared to put it simply. Of the noise, of his surroundings and of the faces that greeted him each day. Even moving to a different kennel was only possible when his favourite person and previous foster mum stepped in. He would bark at everyone to tell us to leave him alone because it was his only way to say to us he was terrified. He wasnt a fan of us going into his kennel space. But the weeks and months passed and he started to realise the regular faces gave him all the stuff he loved, food, toys, chews and mostly importantly attention. He started to wag his tail when the volunteers visited. He took treats, then a stroke and finally we slipped a lead on him and he crawled out of his kennel into the freedom of the Exercise field. He greeted us, You could see his relief at human contact. We saw the Cyril we knew again! The Cyril he had been in his foster home. Now he looks forward to his time, his fuss and his people! And is ready to find his well earned forever home. Cyril is a gorgeous boy who is crate trained, house trained and walks well on a lead. He is good with energy matched dogs and we work with him every week to help him feel more confident with every aspect he needs to succeed. Cyril will need a secure garden with 6ft minimum fencing and no gaps at all. As with all dogs on going training is needed.Cyril could possibly live with another dog. Preferably another similar size dog and probably better to be a female. He should be fine with cats with cardboard introductions and children 12+.

Dolly, a 3 years old female Crossbreed available for adoption from Angels 4 Dogs in Kent

Dolly

Dolly came to us from Romania a number of months ago. Her life in Romania was beyond hellish. When we found her although safe from the beatings she was spending life on a chain. So Yasmine made her a promise to give her a better life. Unfortunately it’s not been going to plan and Dolly has now been returned to us for the 2nd time. Due to the abuse Dolly suffered in Romania she is fearful of men. So when she feels threatened she will communicate in the only way she knows how by giving you a growl to back off. It’s no aggression it fear and communication. So she needs a family that will understand, listen and respect her space when she is feeling unsure. Dolly is the most sweetest and loving dog you could imagine despite what humans have done to her. She has previously lived happily with other dogs. She loves a walk and will adore her human. She really does just want a cosy sofa and a family that will understand she needs time to trust and feel at home. She is house clean and crate trained. I promise you she is so worth the effort. Dolly needs a secure garden with 6ft fencing minimum and no gaps at all. As with all dogs on going training will be needed. Dolly can live with other dogs, she is not cat tested and no children please.

Effie has been doing really well in foster and is now ready for her forever home. Isn't she just the prettiest princess!? Effie is a shy but very loving dog. She will definitely need at least one resident dog to help her with her confidence...she loves dogs and it helps her feel safer to explore and get to grips with the world. Effie will be shy for a little while- you need to accept this and let her come round in her own time...which she will and then she is full of very gentle loves! Effie is crate trained and house clean. She spends her days in the garden surrounded by her foster siblings. She loves to play with toys and play chase with the other dogs. She is never keen to leave the garden even when its extremely cold! But once she does come in she will find a cozy corner for a good old snooze. Effie is a very special dog that just needs a family to give her time to blossom into herself in her own time without worrying about her shyness in the first few months. Effie will need a secure garden with 6ft fencing minimum and no gaps at all.As with all puppies on going training will be needed.Effie can live with dogs, cats and children 8+.

Hallie arrived with us recently from Romania. She has been doing really well in foster and is now ready for her forever home. This is what her foster family had to say:Hallie is a very sweet and loving young puppy, she loves her treats, especially a crunchy carrot! She loves running around the garden, playing with her toys and adores a good fuss. She has become much more confident while with us, transforming from a shy pup to one full of confidence. She has been doing really well her toilet training and waits by the back door when she needs to go out. Hallie has been doing well with her basic training, learning to sit and wait and she has just started working on paw.Hallie is not to keen on reflections (the only thing that will scare her is seeing herself) Hallie is brilliant with her crate but as she is an intelligent and playful pup, she will occasionally like to have a small game of chase before she reenters. It will be hard to see the back of the loveable Hallie but she is ready to go to her forever home now. Hallie will need a secure garden with 6ft fencing minimum and no gaps at all. Jack, a 8 months old male Collie available for adoption from Angels 4 Dogs in Kent

Jack

Kent
SexMale
Age8 months
BreedCollie

Jack arrived with us recently from the pound. He was found straying in Kent.He is some sort of Collie mix and only 8 months old. He is extremely friendly but still nervous. He has been through lots of change in a short time.We believe he will be fine with other dogs. But would obviously invite you to bring your dogs to meet him first. We will continue to introduce him to other dogs over the next few weeks. He is now settling in to our local kennels and getting to meet all the volunteers and kennel staff. He has enjoyed time in the exercise area and is now learning the routine and schedules. We would love to get him out of kennels and into a home asap. So we would also welcome a foster home in the meantime. Jack is a lovely boy and will be the most loyal dog. Being a Collie Mix he will be a high energy dog that will need lots of walks and mental stimulation. So a young active family who have someone home most of the time would be ideal. Jack will need a secure garden with 6ft fencing and no gaps at all. As with all puppies on going training will be needed. Jack can live with other dogs and children 12+.

Lemony, a 6 months old female Crossbreed available for adoption from Angels 4 Dogs in Kent

Lemony

BreedCrossbreed

Lemony arrived with us recently from Romania. She has been doing well in foster and is now ready for her forever home. This is what her foster mum had to say:LemonyLemony is an adorable puppy, she weighs 7 kg at the moment at 6 months old.She takes time to trust people, but when you are her friend, she loves snuggling with you on the sofa. She takes herself to her safe places when she feels the need. Inside that is a cosy travel crate, outside she lies down between 2 sheds where she also tends to hoard her toys. She eats little of her dry food, drinks well. When you give her a treat, she hides it for a while and eats it when she is ready. She does not need a treat as a reward, praising her appears to be enough. She loves being in the garden, where she zooms around, plays with a ball, or just lies down and rolls around. She prefers you to come with her outside, but can then spend time on her own.She is inquisitive, but remains easily spooked. She is not ready for a walk yet. She tolerates the harness but hates being on a lead. She is also reluctant to meet the dog next door via the trellis. She is toilet trained completely, no accidents. Does not need to go out at night. She uses the cosy travel crate when she needs some space or a safe place. She sleeps on the sofa at night and at times during the day next to you.Lemony deserves a loving forever home where with patience she will become the best company.I will be happy for her but sad for me when she finds it, she is a joy to have around. Lemony will need a secure garden with 6ft Fencing minimum and no gaps at all.As with all puppies on going training will be needed. Lemony can live with dogs, cats and children 8+.
