About Angels 4 Dogs

Angels 4 Dogs was founded in 2011 in Thanet, Kent by a group of compassionate volunteers committed to rescuing and rehoming stray and unwanted dogs. What began as a small local effort has grown into a dedicated rescue supporting UK pound dogs at risk of euthanasia as well as Romanian dogs who have suffered neglect and abuse. Driven by the belief that every dog deserves a loving forever home, the team works tirelessly to transform broken lives into hopeful futures. With the support of volunteers, donors and adopters, Angels 4 Dogs continues its mission to be a lifeline for dogs in need.

Archie

Kent
SexMale
Age3 years
BreedGreyhound

Archie is a wonderful big greyhound with a typical greyhound nature! He is extemely sweet and a very laid back boy. Archie is house clean and a well-behaved house guest in his foster home. He enjoys walks and long afternoon naps. He lives with two other lurcher boys and is very well behaved with them, he enjoys a little play and then back to snoozing! He travels well in the car and recently passed a health check at the vets. He has an old leg injury from this that has been operated on.Archie does having a racing history so no small furries please! Here's what his foster mum says: Archie has settled well into a foster home with two other male sighthounds. No food aggression or any dog aggression shown. Typical greyhound- loves his food and loves his comfort- very quickly has made the sofa his choice of seating. Clean in the house. Not too confident on the stairs- good going up but still a work in progress getting back down! Gets into the car and travels well in the car now(although perhaps a larger car would be useful!!) Good with other dogs when out on a walk and loves people. Walks beautifully on the lead - unless there’s a squirrel in sight! I can manage the three large boys with one hand. Rarely barks. Takes treats nicely and tends to keep all four feet on the floor when he’s greeting you which is a relief as he’s as tall as I am! Very cuddly in the house and good recall outside. Typical countersurfer- often find things squirrelled away in his bed though non destructive- just a thief. He would like to live with another dog although not essential. Doesn’t need loads of exercise. Archie is a very lovely and loving dog- well regulated emotionally- will walk away from confrontation rather than escalate it. He’s got a really good, kind nature and positive attitude to life. Archie needs a secure garden with 6ft fencing minimum and no gaps at all.As with all dogs on going training will be needed. Archie can live with dogs, no cats and children 12+ please.

This is Barry. He arrived recently from Romania.Barry has clearly had a rough time in Romania and been left with a big scar on the back of his head . After a recent vet trip we have been informed that Barry does not have any sight in his right eye and does show some neurological deficits. Unfortunately there is nothing to be done and Barry has adapted well. He will always just be a little different. But the love he has to give will make up for any loss. Barry unfortunately was unable to find a foster placement so has found himself in kennels. Barry has shown him self to be a typical bouncy and friendly Pointer. He loves attention and is desperate to find himself a foster or forever home.Barry is slowly meeting all the volunteers and kennel staff and loving and time he has with them. He has been a good boy and loving discovering toys and what life should be like. Can you offer Barry a spot on your sofa ? Daisy, a 4 years old female French Bulldog available for adoption from Angels 4 Dogs in Kent

Angels 4 Dogs

Daisy

Kent
SexFemale
Age4 years
BreedFrench Bulldog

This is Daisy, she was sadly dumped and found herself in the pound running out of time so we threw her a lifeline and took her in so she wasnt put to sleep. Daisy basically can be a bit much if you treat her like a baby! She thrives off being a dog and being treated as so; she has lacked alot of boundaires and in a short time in foster with us has become a wonderful girl who gets along with everyone. She has her own bed, is crate trained and she is not allowed on sofas. Daisy is not a "lap dog" despite her size and cute buggish face! She responds well to having structure and if ignored she will revert back to bad behaviours and potentially guarding. Daisy is loving and sweet and will be your best friend. But she will also take full advantage if she thinks she can run the home! As such some very simple things like having her own bed and not being allowed on sofas gives her a safe space to go to and some boundaires to ensure she doesn't get over stimulated. Daisy loves her walks, her food and lots of naps! Thats pretty much her main passions! Daisy will need an adult only home but loves playing with the all her foster dog siblings and is fine with cats. Daisy can be food possessive - she must be fed seperate from other dogs and you must not take food off her...which resolves this. As she builds a bond she will allow her "person" to take food but initially this will not be allowed by her.Daisy can also get protective of her toys - so until you build up a bond we would strongly suggest no toys. Which doesn't bother her anyway and stops her being over stimulated. Daisy is slow to warm to strangers- you will need to keep her seperate when having visitors or you will be setting her up to fail.Daisy needs to be treated like a dog so she respects you as her leader. If you baby her it just won’t work and she will end up back with us. If your willing to accept our guidance and advice Daisy will be a well behaved and happy member of the family. We will only rehome Daisy to someone who can follow these rules especially in the first 3 months and then follow up training. Shes a special girl she just needs time and patience. Daisy will need a secure garden with 6ft fencing minimum and no gaps at all.As with all dogs on going training will be needed. Daisy can live with dogs, cats but no children please.

Effie has been doing really well in foster and is now ready for her forever home. Isn't she just the prettiest princess!? Effie is a shy but very loving dog. She will definitely need at least one resident dog to help her with her confidence...she loves dogs and it helps her feel safer to explore and get to grips with the world. Effie will be shy for a little while- you need to accept this and let her come round in her own time...which she will and then she is full of very gentle loves! Effie is crate trained and house clean. She spends her days in the garden surrounded by her foster siblings. She loves to play with toys and play chase with the other dogs. She is never keen to leave the garden even when its extremely cold! But once she does come in she will find a cozy corner for a good old snooze.
