BreedStaffordshire Bull Terrier

Breed - Staffy crossGender - FemaleDate of Birth - January 2021 (estimate)Can live with dogs? YesCan live with cats? NoCan live with children? 9+ years oldLocation - West SussexAMBERDue to sad circumstances for her current owners, Amber needs to find a new home through no fault of her own. She is rising 5 years old. She is good with older children and dogs but is not cat friendly. Her owner feels that she would benefit from living with another older, calmer dog. She is a cuddle bunny and loves nothing more than snuggling up on the sofa with you or sleeping next to the radiator/fire if available.Amber is a beautiful, loving dog and companion and ideally suited to a home with a garden that she can lay and sunbathe during the lazy sunny days or just take herself out for a wander round it.She is active and loves long country walks, a car ride but isn't keen on a stony beach. If you are interested in helping Amber please fill in one of our forms.

Breed - Saluki LurcherGender - MaleDate of Birth - August 2023Can live with dogs? Needs a companionCan live with cats? NoCan live with children? 10+ years Location - West SussexHe was living in London before being handed into Battersea - he really struggled in this environment and sadly Battersea put him on code red as they felt he was not rehomeable, although we have no idea why! He’s never shown a single ounce of aggression - he is a loving and affectionate dog who adores his walks! He came to join us approx 1.5yrs ago and is a wonderful happy boy! He absolutely loves to play and loves other dogsThere is however a BIG BUT - he is absolutely terrified of travelling in a vehicle - he arrived shut in the dark in a small purpose built travel cage in the back of a Battersea van and has never got over this.

He is submissive around the other lurchers, fine with little Sally and the Bullies, and gentle and inquisitive. He is looking for a home with space to let him have free running exercise as he is, after all, a 'running dog'! Without correct exercise and stimulation he will become frustrated and mischievous as so many do!He will be a very special dog in the right home with another dog or two who match his energy.

Aged 12+ yearsLocation - West SussexHONEYThis lovely little girl is just 18 months old and has arrived in rescue through no fault of her own.She has had an accidental mating and gave birth to 5 puppies on Christmas day. Her owner took full responsibility and the puppies have been reared beautifully and are now 7 weeks old (post on them to come soon).Very sadly the owner has fallen very ill unexpectedly and realised that she would not be able to continue caring from them as in hospital for an indeterminate amount time and so Mum and pups arrived with us today.Honey is adorable ... we believe she is a Frenchie x Chihuahua. She is lively, fun, friendly, good with other dogs and will be a fantastic companion. She will be ready to find her foster with view to forever home VERY soon as she is a little bored with her pups although still intermittently feeding them.If you are interested in helping Honey please fill in one of our forms.

Over 8+ yearsLocation - West SussexJOJOJOJO was found straying and in a bit of a mess! She has been in foster with us since September. She is believed to be around 3 years old the vets think and is showing to be a lovely natured dog with no reactivity of any sort to other dogs of either sex.Her coat was badly matted, she had skin problems from neglect, needed a dental and she has entropian in both eyes! She came into season and we had to wait for surgery but yesterday finally the day came ... On better examination under GA it was clear that she needed both her upper and lower lids correcting with an amount of loose skin removed as well. She was under anaesthetic for 3 hours and has come through with flying colours thankfully. She is eating and bright and in a few days will be more comfortable than she has ever been. This is another example of BAD BREEDING and dogs being dumped with very costly medical needs ...

Breed - Cane CorsoGender - MaleDate of Birth - April 2024 (estimate)Can live with dogs? YesCan live with cats? Unable to testCan live with children? UnknownLocation - West SussexNemo is a striking, two-year-old Cane Corso who is a "big, soppy baby" in a large dog’s body. He arrived to pound kennels shut-down and quite fearful but very rapidly began to trust staff and revealed a gentle, submissive, and affectionate personality. He’s a big, soppy boy and once he forms a bond he is all tail wags. He seeks reassurance from people but has shows no reactivity at all. He’s finding the kennel environment a little overwhelming so we are hoping to find him a foster home where he can build his confidence, continue with his learning and lead walking and gain a full assessment. He has proven to be submissive with other dogs, happily existing around them and will keep space and watch, although being in pound kennels we cannot fully assess. With the right measures in place to fully separate, we feel he will live with a female dog quite happily.

Aged 12+ yearsLocation - West SussexSHANEFor an all too brief 24 hours, we were able to take Shane into a home environment for further assessment ... And how very glad we did!!!He is now back in pound kennels but we now have invaluable information to help us find his forever homeShane has spent many months in pound kennels now and yesterday we managed to place him in a dog free home to find out a little more ...What a lovely dog he is -- He is a big boy (he stands around 26/27" TTS)- He is loving and affectionate- He is not house trained since he has been in kennels for months and unable to get out to pee/poo - so some work to do here!- He is strong but very trainable- He does, of course, have prey drive but again is very willing to learn- He is NOT cat friendly / small furry friendly- He does not have an ounce of malice - just a natural instinct to do what he was bred to do Shane is young, boisterous and a big lad and having spent so long confined to a kennel he can get very over excited but this will settle VERY quickly once he is able to exercise and has an outlet for his needs. He was dog 'friendly' but currently so full on that any resident companion needs to be able to tolerate a full on and 'rude' companion so may be better as an only dog at this time.PLEASE consider helping this boy - we have limited time to find him a suitable foster. He needs space to free run, Large secure garden? He needs someone around a lot in the early days to work with him, allow him to decompress and settle into a new life.
