About Auras Dogs

Aura’s Rescue began after its founders visited Romania and witnessed the suffering of dogs in public shelters, where abuse, neglect, and abandonment were common. Inspired by a local rescuer named Aura, who cared for overlooked and long-stay dogs from her small home shelter, the team committed to helping those considered least likely to be adopted. The rescue focuses particularly on older, traumatised, and fearful dogs who have spent years waiting without hope. By bringing these dogs into foster homes in the UK, Aura’s Rescue provides patient rehabilitation, giving them the chance to adjust, heal, and finally experience safety and love.

Blu is a stunning Isabella dachshund (standard) who has come to us through no fault of his own Blu is a playful, young little lad with typical daxi traits. He can be nervous when he first meets you, but forms strong bonds and adores his people – he would do well with a family who has had the breed before and is knowledgable about the health side of the breed as well as behaviour Blu lives with another dog at present and loves to play and roll around with her, he enjoys his walks, and even on short walks can pull a decent walk, but he will not a huge hiker and care should be taken to manage that long bank with jumping etc Blu travels well and is affectionate, he needs a family with lots of time for him as can get worried when left alone, another typical sausage trait! This is a really stunning boy who deserves all the happiness and will make someone so so very happy! Could you be the proud new parents of Blu? Blue is an active Lurcher who has come to us from the stray kennels – we suspect he has been a pet before as he finds kennels stressful although he does have strong hunting instincts typical of his breed too! Blue is an active boy rather than a lazy Lurcher. He loves to chase a ball and is obsessed! (Great fly ball prospect?!) he can be strong on the lead so needs a capable walking human, however he is food motivated and very trainable Blue is friendly with all humans however we think he is a little too headstrong to go with children and would do better in an adult home experienced with large dogs; he is young and does need someone with time and energy for him, he will reward you with love ! Chase, a 4 years old male Bulldog available for adoption from Auras Dogs in Gloucestershire

Chase

Gloucestershire
SexMale
Age4 years
BreedBulldog

Good with dogs: living as solo dog at present but has dog friends Chase is a classic, loveable English bulldog who came to us through the stray system. He is a sweet, soppy funny lad full of typical stubborn bulldog character and would suit a home that enjoys this amazing personality, and doesn’t mind a bit of snoring Here is what his foster home had to say about him: Meet Chase – Your New Best Friend! Chase is a 4-year-old English Bulldog with a big personality and an even bigger heart. He’s a happy chappy who is always ready to brighten your day with his goofy charm and affectionate nature. Unlike many Bulldogs, Chase genuinely enjoys going for walks—although he’d be the first to tell you that shorter strolls are much more his style! He also absolutely loves car rides and will happily jump in for any adventure, whether it’s a trip to the park or just popping to the shops. True to his Bulldog roots, Chase has absolutely no concept of personal space! If you’re sitting down, expect him to be right beside you (or on you), soaking up cuddles, belly rubs, and all the love you can give. He’s also a big foodie, so treats and mealtimes are definitely among his favourite things. Chase does have one little quirk—he isn’t a fan of metal ladders. If he comes across one, he can be a little unsure, although with a calm, patient approach and by moving slowly, he’ll work through it. Chase is looking for a family who will love him for the wonderful, affectionate clown that he is. In return, he’ll reward you with loyalty, laughter, endless cuddles, and a constant companion who just wants to be part of everything you do. If you’re looking for a loving, fun, and wonderfully squishy best friend, Chase could be the perfect addition to your home. Could you be the proud new parents of Chase? Dolly, a Unknown old female Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier available for adoption from Auras Dogs in Gloucestershire

Auras Dogs

Dolly

Gloucestershire
SexFemale
AgeUnknown
BreedSoft Coated Wheaten Terrier

Please read Dolly’s full advert before applying. Dolly is fearful of men and will require very slow, carefully managed introductions. Ideally, she is looking for a female-only home. She will also need an experienced, patient, terrier-savvy adopter who understands rescue dogs and is willing to give her the time she needs to build trust. Dolly is a funny little scruffball who came into our care from the stray kennels and has quickly won hearts with her huge personality. Full of love, fun, and affection, Dolly is a cheeky little character who loves attention and has a wonderful habit of “dancing”—especially when treats are involved! She brings endless entertainment to her foster home and keeps everyone smiling with her playful antics. While Dolly has so much love to give, she does need a special home that understands her fears. She can be very wary of unfamiliar men and, on occasion, new women too. Once she trusts someone, she forms strong bonds and becomes a loyal, affectionate companion, but she needs people who will respect her boundaries and allow her to progress at her own pace. For this reason, Dolly will need several meet-and-greets with any potential adopter before going home. Although she currently lives with children, we feel she would be happiest in a calm, adult-only household with limited visitors and not too much day-to-day bustle. Dolly loves her walks, enjoys spending time outdoors, and would suit a semi-active home that can provide both adventure and companionship. After a day of exploring, she’s more than happy to curl up for cuddles and enjoy some quality time with her favourite people. Dolly currently lives with another dog and has had canine friends in the past. However, she can be vocal when on lead and requires careful introductions to new dogs. To give her the best chance of settling into a new home successfully, we are looking for a home where she can be the only dog and enjoy all the attention to herself. Dolly is a wonderfully quirky little girl who simply needs the right people to see past her worries and help her feel safe. In return, she will reward them with loyalty, laughter, and endless affection. Could you be Dolly’s perfect match? Ghost – Gsd, a 10 years old female German Shepherd available for adoption from Auras Dogs in Gloucestershire

Ghost – Gsd

Gloucestershire
SexFemale
Age10 years
BreedGerman Shepherd

Ghost is a strikingly beautiful German shepherd boy who came to us from the stray kennels. He was a skinny sad boy who was desperate to be shown love and care again. Ghost has clearly been loved and someone’s friend at some point. How he ended up unwanted and forgotten about in the stray kennels is truly heartbreaking Ghost walks lovely on a lead, however he can be reactive to dogs, so still needs an able bodied handler, and perhaps living somewhere more rural. Ghost travels well in the car, and is a loyal companion. There must have been a time he sat loyally by his human friends side. Why did no one claim him? Ghost would love a quiet retirement home where he can be someone’s faithful companion once more. He is a sweet lad who loves a brush, and would love once more to be doted on. Ghost has had a lump removed from his chin, and otherwise is in good health for his age. Could you be the proud new parents of Ghost?

Hope, a 4 months old female German Shepherd available for adoption from Auras Dogs in Gloucestershire

Hope

Gloucestershire

Age4 months
BreedGerman Shepherd

Experienced home needed. Preferably rural too Hope is an incredibly special girl, with a life behind her that we will never truly know, but one that has left her with a lot of mental scars Hope came to us from the stray kennels. She was a shut down girl, that wouldn’t let kennel staff near her, her chances of being saved were dwindling, the pound begged us to give her a chance, they know of our soft spot for a shep. Hope came to us with a ligature mark around her neck, indicative or perhaps being on a chain Hope has been with us for several months now, and has been on a journey of confidence building and finding herself again – in kennels she progressed slowly, after weeks of encouragement finally letting us stroke her, take her for walks, and take food from hand. She took so much confidence from the other kennel dogs, and the first time we saw her wag her tail, was when seeing her dog friends Hope eventually improved enough to move to an experienced shepherd savvy foster. She regressed a little at first, again not wanting anyone close to her. Slowly after a few days she started to let her guard down, and sought safety in the resident dog, as she still does now, following her everywhere Hope still has a long way to go confidence wise. She loves her walks and is actually a dream on the lead – she will shy from busy environments so somewhere more rural would suit her better She absolutely needs another dog to lead her, but she may be nervous of them too at first and need her own space to decompress, any process with Hope will need to be with kindness and patience Hope may never become a snuggle bug, but her interaction with humans is increasing daily, even to playing tug of war with her foster mum! So we know she can do it, she just needs time and no pressure We are in no rush to place Hope unless it’s a placement that is really right for her. Must be local to us so we can do multiple meets and support for as long as she needs Could you be the proud new parents of Hope? Luna js a daxi x girl who has come to us via a private surrender Luna is an active and happy little girl, who bonds closely with her humans and loves attention! She is young and full of energy and life, she would love a forever home to enjoy it in! Luna socialises well with dogs outside of the house, but can be dominant and like her own space in the house, so would be better suited as a solo dog. She has enjoyed walks on and off the lead with others however Luna can be nervous sometimes of people and so we are advising a sensible adult home, the daxi in her will make her fear bark if she is wary of someone, but most people she does interact with joyfully so it can be surprise when she is wary of someone. We are looking for an experienced home that has had rescue dogs before, or daxis before, and can advocate for this girl and be aware that she sometimes need sensible introductions to new people Luna enjoys her toys, her food, and has been a pleasure to have around kennels. Toni and Erin are two wonderful Pug girls who have come from the stray kennels, and from their similar chip numbers are more than likely sisters These two piggy little ladies are so full of love, life and smile wherever they go! They are enthusiastic little adventure pigs who are super affectionate and spread joy to everyone who meets them. Erin and Toni are very bonded, so it would be lovely to find them a forever home together! Toni has some heavy scaring on her body, from what, we do not know both girls have evidence of having at least one litter in the past, and have been neutered by us. Erin and Toni enjoy gentle walks, long cuddles, rolling around, and lots of play. They will make you laugh everyday, and any pug enthusiast will know just what a ball of fun this breed can be! Toni and Erin have decent enough breathing for a brachycephalic breed, however care needs to be taken in the extreme heat and not to over exercise, keeping their weight manageable will also be advisable as they are girls who would eat till they pop if you let them!
