About Auras Dogs

Aura’s Rescue began after its founders visited Romania and witnessed the suffering of dogs in public shelters, where abuse, neglect, and abandonment were common. Inspired by a local rescuer named Aura, who cared for overlooked and long-stay dogs from her small home shelter, the team committed to helping those considered least likely to be adopted. The rescue focuses particularly on older, traumatised, and fearful dogs who have spent years waiting without hope. By bringing these dogs into foster homes in the UK, Aura’s Rescue provides patient rehabilitation, giving them the chance to adjust, heal, and finally experience safety and love.

Alaska, a 5 months old male Siberian Husky available for adoption from Auras Dogs in Gloucestershire

Alaska

Gloucestershire
SexMale
Age5 months
BreedSiberian Husky

Alaska is a beautiful husky but who came to us quite some time ago from the stray kennels Sadly on assessment, Alaska seemed in discomfort with his back left leg On further vet exam, it was discovered that Alaska had a previous injury to his hip which had not healed correctly, causing pain and havoc all down his leg It was a tough choice on what to do, but the priority was to rid Alaska of pain. Alaska underwent an operation on his hip this year, and has had subsequent physio and hydrotherapy since. He has made a wonderful recovery and the vet has signed him off to be adopted and is very happy with him! Alaska is a beautiful, affectionate and sweet boy, who we have got to know really well over the last few months. He is lovely to walk, calm at home, can be left for short periods, and has endless love to give! He is such an amazing boy, and we can’t wait to give a family the wonderful opportunity to add him to their home There is a possibility that Alaska may need a second operation to his kneecap. However the vet is hopeful that he won’t. This will be covered by the rescue should be need this done in the future (must be with our vet) and this can be discussed further. It will be important that a forever home keeps up with Alaska regular exercise to maintain the muscle he has in his leg, we have worked hard to get it to this point! Blue, a 2 years old female Crossbreed available for adoption from Auras Dogs in Gloucestershire

Blue

Gloucestershire
SexFemale
Age2 years
BreedCrossbreed

Blue is an active Lurcher who has come to us from the stray kennels – we suspect he has been a pet before as he finds kennels stressful although he does have strong hunting instincts typical of his breed too! Blue is an active boy rather than a lazy Lurcher. He loves to chase a ball and is obsessed! (Great fly ball prospect?!) he can be strong on the lead so needs a capable walking human, however he is food motivated and very trainable Blue is friendly with all humans however we think he is a little too headstrong to go with children and would do better in an adult home experienced with large dogs; he is young and does need someone with time and energy for him, he will reward you with love ! Dolly, a Unknown old female Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier available for adoption from Auras Dogs in Gloucestershire

Auras Dogs

Dolly

Gloucestershire
SexFemale
AgeUnknown
BreedSoft Coated Wheaten Terrier

Please read Dolly’s full advert before applying. Dolly is fearful of men and will require very slow, carefully managed introductions. Ideally, she is looking for a female-only home. She will also need an experienced, patient, terrier-savvy adopter who understands rescue dogs and is willing to give her the time she needs to build trust. Dolly is a funny little scruffball who came into our care from the stray kennels and has quickly won hearts with her huge personality. Full of love, fun, and affection, Dolly is a cheeky little character who loves attention and has a wonderful habit of “dancing”—especially when treats are involved! She brings endless entertainment to her foster home and keeps everyone smiling with her playful antics. While Dolly has so much love to give, she does need a special home that understands her fears. She can be very wary of unfamiliar men and, on occasion, new women too. Once she trusts someone, she forms strong bonds and becomes a loyal, affectionate companion, but she needs people who will respect her boundaries and allow her to progress at her own pace. For this reason, Dolly will need several meet-and-greets with any potential adopter before going home. Although she currently lives with children, we feel she would be happiest in a calm, adult-only household with limited visitors and not too much day-to-day bustle. Dolly loves her walks, enjoys spending time outdoors, and would suit a semi-active home that can provide both adventure and companionship. After a day of exploring, she’s more than happy to curl up for cuddles and enjoy some quality time with her favourite people. Dolly currently lives with another dog and has had canine friends in the past. However, she can be vocal when on lead and requires careful introductions to new dogs. To give her the best chance of settling into a new home successfully, we are looking for a home where she can be the only dog and enjoy all the attention to herself. Dolly is a wonderfully quirky little girl who simply needs the right people to see past her worries and help her feel safe. In return, she will reward them with loyalty, laughter, and endless affection. Could you be Dolly’s perfect match? Ghost – Gsd, a 10 years old female German Shepherd available for adoption from Auras Dogs in Gloucestershire

Auras Dogs

Ghost – Gsd

Gloucestershire
SexFemale
Age10 years
BreedGerman Shepherd

Ghost is a strikingly beautiful German shepherd boy who came to us from the stray kennels. He was a skinny sad boy who was desperate to be shown love and care again. Ghost has clearly been loved and someone’s friend at some point. How he ended up unwanted and forgotten about in the stray kennels is truly heartbreaking Ghost walks lovely on a lead, however he can be reactive to dogs, so still needs an able bodied handler, and perhaps living somewhere more rural. Ghost travels well in the car, and is a loyal companion. There must have been a time he sat loyally by his human friends side. Why did no one claim him? Ghost would love a quiet retirement home where he can be someone’s faithful companion once more. He is a sweet lad who loves a brush, and would love once more to be doted on. Ghost has had a lump removed from his chin, and otherwise is in good health for his age. Could you be the proud new parents of Ghost?

Lily, a 4 years old female German Shepherd available for adoption from Auras Dogs in Gloucestershire

Auras Dogs

Lily

Gloucestershire
SexFemale
Age4 years
BreedGerman Shepherd

Lily is a stunning German Shepherd who came into our care after narrowly escaping euthanasia. Despite everything she has been through, she remains a loving, affectionate girl with so much to offer the right family. Lily would thrive in a semi-rural or rural home with someone experienced with German Shepherds or similar working breeds. She is intelligent, eager to please, and loves learning new things. Already knowing a wide range of commands and tricks, Lily enjoys training and would flourish in a home that can continue to challenge and engage her both mentally and physically. Lily has been well socialised with people and loves human company. She is affectionate, loyal, and enjoys nothing more than settling down for cuddles after a day of adventures. Lily has Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency (EPI), which is successfully managed through her diet and will require lifelong management. We are happy to discuss her condition and care requirements in detail with potential adopters. What Lily’s foster home says about her: ️ Happy to be left home alone for up to three hours without any issues. ️ Clean and well-mannered in the house. ️ Loves cuddling on the sofa and being close to her people. ️ A tennis ball enthusiast who would happily play fetch all day. ️ Travels well and loves going out in the van. ️ Her favourite place is a secure field where she can run and play with her tennis balls. ️ Sleeps happily on a rug beside the bed. ️ Gentle and trustworthy, with no history of aggression, even when items are taken from her. ️ Clever and trainable, responding well to guidance and redirection during walks. ️ Endearingly brings “gifts” such as shoes or the TV remote in exchange for treats or attention—but never chews them! As with many shepherds, Lily can be vocal when someone passes the house, but this has improved significantly with consistency and patience. She can be reactive towards other dogs on lead and will need continued training in this area, but she is highly responsive and eager to work with her handler. Due to her size, we feel children aged 7 and over would be most suitable. Lily cannot live with cats. Managing Lily’s dietary needs is essential. She is doing incredibly well on her current regime, but as she loves food, care must be taken to ensure she cannot access unsuitable items. Her foster home reports that this has improved greatly now that her condition is well managed. Sadly, Lily is now back in kennels and finding it very difficult. After experiencing the comfort of a home, kennel life is proving particularly hard for her. She desperately needs a forever family who can offer her the love, security, and companionship she deserves. Lily is working with a trainer and doing exceptionally well, lots of support can be offered post adoption to help settle her in Lily has so much love to give and is ready to become someone’s loyal best friend. Could you be Lily’s perfect match? Phillip – Patterdale, a 3 years old male Lakeland Terrier available for adoption from Auras Dogs in Gloucestershire

Phillip – Patterdale

Gloucestershire
SexMale
Age3 years
BreedLakeland Terrier

Phillip is a fun-loving, affectionate Patterdale Terrier looking for his forever home. He appears to have had some basic training in the past and is eager to please, responding well to simple commands. Unlike some busy terriers, Phillip loves human company and will happily seek you out for cuddles and fuss ️ Phillip would thrive with an owner who understands the breed or has experience with active, driven terriers. While he’s past his bouncy puppy stage, he still has plenty of energy and enjoys both physical exercise and mental stimulation. Kennel life isn’t his favourite, and we’d love to see him settled back into a loving home where he can truly relax. Phillip has met a variety of dogs and generally does well, but he finds close confinement with other dogs challenging. For this reason, he would be happiest as the only dog in the home. When out and about, he can be alert around other dogs and will benefit from sensible introductions and continued guidance, but he is capable of settling well in the right hands. We advise muzzling Phillip on walks to ensure comfortability around other dogs, he is happy to wear this This sweet boy adores people and makes friends wherever he goes. He is looking for a terrier-savvy home that can offer plenty of adventures, enrichment, and, most importantly, lots of love. Could you be Phillip’s perfect match?
