Brysons Animal Shelter is Gateshead’s only animal shelter rehoming cats, dogs, and small animals, providing care 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Supported by a dedicated team of ten staff, the shelter ensures every animal receives the highest standard of care while they await their forever home. Brysons takes a personal, thoughtful approach to rehoming, working closely with adopters to ensure the right match for both animal and owner. Each year, the shelter successfully rehomes over 150 dogs, 200 cats, and many small animals, while offering lifelong support should circumstances ever change. Founded in 1947 by Bill and Marion Bryson, the shelter has grown from a refuge for horses and ponies into a vital sanctuary for animals across the region.

‹› Alfie Alfie’s previous owner was not in a position to give him the exercise he needed so he was relinquished to our vets. He was had a full health check, he was castrated and had a dental ………..where he needed to 19 teeth removed! Alfie is known top form and he is feeling good. He loves meeting new people and other dogs, he would love a new home where he has lots of company and cuddles.

‹› Benji Benji is a tiny little boy with a big personality, he most definitely has his own mind! He is looking for a new owner who will have some fun with him and take him on nice walks and show him the world. Benji is small and very cute but he is a dog and not a toy, it is very important that he is treat appropriately! Benji is not suitable to live with young children and he will need to be the only pet in his new home. He does need to be further socialised with other dogs

‹› Dolly and Teddy This pair arrived in a very neglected state but despite everything, they were such happy and friendly little souls! They have been thoroughly vet checked, had antibiotics, medicated baths and a good groom to remove the heavy matting and they are looking good Teddy’s hair is growing in so well and skin is looking amazing. Dolly is hugely improved but will still need medicated baths twice weekly until we have her skin looking perfect. They are not related but have lived together for many years and despite Dolly being a bossy boots, they do adore each other.

‹› Enzo Enzo is a fun, friendly boy who adores people and lots of cuddles. he would like his new owner to be around for most of the day to keep him entertained. Enzo loves his exercise and he walks very nicely on lead. However, he does have a very strong prey drive so he will need to be kept on lead he public places. Enzo is good with other dogs but he does get over excited when dogs are running. A lovely boy who would benefit from further training.

‹› Hallie Hallie has just retired from racing and she is now needing the comfort of a new home. She is finding the outside world a very scary place, so her new owner will need to have the time and patience to help her adjust to a new environment. Hallie has not reacted to other dogs on her walks and we find that walking with another dog can help her. Hallie is looking for a quiet home.

‹› Milo This boy is adorable Milo is a lovely natured boy who has quickly stolen everyone’s heart! He loves attention and may be a little bit needy so he would like his new owner to be around most of the days. He loves a cuddle and lots of attention although we are told that Milo can be left alone for short periods of time. Milo is good with other dogs he meets on his walks, he has previously lived with another dog but we do think that he would like to receive all of the attention in his new home.

‹› Mollie Mollie has had a difficult life, she was originally used as a breeding machine before finding a kind lady o help her. Unfortunately the lady was unable to give her a permanent home so Mollie came into our care. Mollie is looking for an experienced new owner who will continue to socialise her with other dogs, she has been so well behaved with us but we are told that she can be reactive. Mollie is an absolute sweetheart with people, she will make a great companion.

‹› Narla Narla hasn’t had much luck so far in her life, the right owner and new home can make for a happy future for this pretty girl. Narla loves people……..she is a total cuddle monster! We think she will love the company and comfort of a new home, she needs a routine so she knows that she relax and know that she is now safe and has settled future. Narla hasn’t been very well socialised with other dogs so there is work to do there but she is already showing improvement.

‹› Nimbus Nimbus is a fun and very friendly boy once he gets to know you. He can bark when meeting new people but he quickly relaxes and shows his happy character. We are looking for an experienced new owner who has the time to help him accept people and new experiences, he needs to gain confidence. For this reason we are looking for an adult. Nimbus loves his exercise, he is definitely happiest running around and exploring the world.

‹› Penny The lovely Penny is sadly needing a new home due to the baby’s allergy. She is such a sweetheart, we can’t fault her behaviour since joining us. Penny loves people, she is great with other dogs and is simply a pleasure to spend time with. We are told that Penny gets very travel sick but we have travelled her on two separate occasions with no issues. Looking for a gentle companion to share your life, then look no further!

‹› Red – Foster Home found Red has hip dysplasia and needs surgery to replace his right hip, the recovery period will be 12-14 weeks. He has now found a lovely foster home and he has settle in perfectly. Red has an appointment at Pennine Vets on November 18th for a consultation with the orthopedic vet, we hope that his surgery will be soon after this date. Red has had his surgery today Monday 1st December, he is spending his night at the vets but hopefully, he will return to his lovely foster parents tomorrow. ‹› Storm Storm is a quite a character who will need a new owner to set boundaries for her. We are looking for an adult home with no other pets. Storm can be quite vocal when meeting other dogs and although her behaviour is improving, she is not ready to live with other pets. An active girl who loves her walks, she is much more energetic than most of this breed. Storm makes us laugh every day with antics, a young lady with a lot of personality.
