About CGSR

Central German Shepherd Rescue (CGSR) is a registered charity (since June 2015) dedicated to rescuing, caring for, and rehoming German Shepherds and Shepherd crosses that are unwanted, neglected, or in need across Central England. Alongside hands-on rescue, CGSR places strong emphasis on education—promoting humane treatment, responsible ownership, and campaigning against puppy farming, backyard breeding, and unsafe “free to a good home” practices. All dogs taken into care are microchipped, vaccinated, flea- and worm-treated, with neutering carried out wherever possible under clear agreements. CGSR does not import dogs from abroad, focusing its efforts within the UK to ensure consistent welfare standards. Adoption fees are reinvested directly into veterinary care, neutering, and essential rescue costs, helping protect dogs now and in the future.

Bodie

Lincolnshire
SexMale
Age2 years
BreedGerman Shepherd

2 year old entire male. He's an energetic, vocal lad that needs a calm confident owner. Bodie can get over- stimulated when meeting other dogs especially if they are high energy. He can walk nicely with a calm Labrador & greeted medium sized dogs without issue. He does shout at dogs if he sees them playing - no aggression just frustration & lack of social manners. Squirrels however are a totally different matter! Bodie does have prey drive for small fast moving creatures - so we will not home him with cats. As he's a bit boisterous and has no spacial awareness (normal young male shep) we will not place him with very young children. Bodie has greeted everybody he's met with wags. He was underweight with muscle wastage on intake. His vaccinations will be restarted now hess healthy. He has been flead & wormed. Bodie will go out on a neutering contract. Approx 3years. Entire male (he will go out on a neutering contract) Frankie has progressed fantastically over the last few months. His reactivity towards other dogs has decreased especially at distance. He will still launch if another dog surprises him or gets in his face. He is walked on a headcollar for extra control. Frankie visits the local cafes weekly and and is a superstar with everybody he meets. He has trips out to town, happy to go into shops & nothing really fazes him now. He has learnt to walk past doors & windows without freaking. He travels well either crated or clipped in the boot. Lora, a Unknown old female German Shepherd available for adoption from CGSR in Lincolnshire

Lora

Lincolnshire
SexFemale

BreedGerman Shepherd

Lora is a fab shep with the world's longest tongue! She is currently in foster in Lincolnshire. Lora is great in the home but not so confident out in new places - she relies on Frankie in new situations. She can work through things on her own but needs to be given time to process. Lora would travel all day, extremely comfortable in a vehicle. Lora would be happy living as the only dog but equally happy with a resident dog her size, several meets would be needed. Frank & Lora are not a bonded pair but they live, play & travel together so we would consider rehoming together if your situation meets both their requirements NO CATS OR SMALL FURRIES Lora is great with people and is more confident off-lead. She’s very enthusiastic on greeting. She can be vocal with small dogs & does have a prey drive. Lora does have several commands and will listen once she knows you. Unfortunately her recall is non-existent. Homecheck & adoption fee apply. Sky is a huskyX female approx 6 years old. She is currently with another rescue who will provide full RBU alongside CGSR. Sky will not be placed in a home with any small animals: cats, chickens, rabbits etc as she has the usual husky prey drive. 6ft secure fencing is a must. She bonds quickly and is extremely affectionate, she greets you with typical husky enthusiasm but is very responsive to commands.
