About Cinque Ports Rescue

Cinque Ports Rescue is a foster-based dog rescue founded in 2011 in the heart of the Cinque Ports, Kent, dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming smaller breed dogs across the South East coast of England. Dogs are cared for exclusively in loving foster homes rather than kennels, allowing them to decompress while the team carefully assesses their individual personalities and needs. Every dog is fully vaccinated, neutered and treated for parasites before adoption. Whether arriving from loving homes, as unclaimed strays or from neglectful situations, each dog is given the care, patience and second chance they deserve.

BreedBichon Frise

Mary is a beautiful 2-year-old Bichon Frisé who recently joined us from a multi-dog household. When she first arrived, the world felt a little overwhelming and she was understandably shy, but with patience, reassurance, and a calm environment, she has begun to truly blossom. Her foster mum has gently supported her confidence and the transformation has been wonderful to see. Mary now LOVES her routine 2-hour walks and is discovering that adventures, smells, and rustling leaves are all rather exciting! She is still building confidence on-lead, but she’s doing brilliantly and just needs a family willing to continue her positive journey.Mary can still be a little cautious when meeting new people, but her gentle, genuine nature shines through, there is not a hint of malice in her, just uncertainty and a strong desire to be loved. Once she realises she’s safe, she is affectionate, snuggly, and incredibly loyal.

BreedPug

Shelby is a young pug cross, estimated to be between 2–3 years old, with a fantastic brain and a huge zest for life. She has grown into a truly fantastic little dog – clever, active, and full of character, the sort of companion who will keep you smiling every single day. She absolutely loves being around people and will happily follow you from room to room, always wanting to be part of whatever you’re doing. She’s very food motivated, which makes her both entertaining and a great candidate for ongoing training. She enjoys the company of other dogs and plays enthusiastically, while she can live with another dog in the right home, she may also be happiest as the only dog where she can have all the attention to herself. She is friendly when out and about, behaves well on walks, and is happy meeting both dogs and people.Shelby is a lively and energetic girl who will need an active household. She can walk for miles and would love a home that enjoys getting out and about. A good-sized, secure garden is important so she has space to run and play, alongside a consistent exercise routine. Given her intelligence, she would really thrive with some ongoing training – she is quick to learn but will push her luck if boundaries aren’t clear, so a confident and consistent owner will help her be her very best.

Sweet Sidney is now ready to find his forever home. At 14 years young, this lovely little Bedlington Terrier has settled beautifully into rescue life, and shown us exactly who he is, a friendly, playful, affectionate old boy who still has plenty of sparkle left.Since coming into our care, Sidney has had a full makeover, a much-needed dental and a clean bill of health from our vets, and he’s now feeling so much more comfortable. Unfortunately he has had to be completely shaved, but it will soon grow back, but in the meantime he appreciates a jumper or a coat for walking in. He’s eating well, enjoying his days, and loves being around people. He may be a golden oldie, but he still has a cheerful, cheeky side that makes everyone smile.Sidney is looking for a calm, loving home where he can enjoy the comforts he truly deserves, a warm bed, kind hands, and someone who appreciates the quiet joy an older dog brings.

Spicy is a short-haired Chihuahua of approximately 3 years old who recently completed her 7-day stray hold after eventally being caught after being reported as straying for a prolonged period. Following a full assessment, and haveing had her routine vet work completed, we’re delighted to say she’s now ready to find her forever home.True to her name, Spicy can be a little… well… spicy! She absolutely adores her fosterer and forms strong bonds once she feels safe. However, she does find meeting new people challenging. This behaviour is entirely fear-based, and she needs an experienced and understanding home that will allow her the time and space to settle at her own pace. The good news? It really doesn’t take long for Spicy to learn to trust, especially as she is highly food-motivated and can definitely be won over with tasty treats!
