Charly, a 2 years old male Labrador available for adoption from DBARC in Berkshire

DBARC

Charly

Berkshire
SexMale
Age2 years
BreedLabrador

(26kg) Handsome young Charly was handed in to a dog pound as a stray and never reclaimed. He is quite a large, strong dog but is also a total softy who loves to be cuddled and loves belly rubs. He just wants to be loved! He is just a youngster, and as with any dog that has become unwanted at such an early age, he is likely to have missed out on early training so will need an owner who is willing and able to help him to catch up. He loves to learn and is eager to please for praise and treats, so training will help build a loving bond between him and his adopter.Charly has no long term history, so we would not wish to place him with children under 10 years. He is unknown with cats or small pets. He is not known with other dogs, although he has been very sociable with other dogs while in rescue, and this will need to be maintained by careful integration with other nice-natured dogs, and dog training classes are the ideal way to achieve safe introduction in a controlled environment. Many dogs in rescue can behave in a reactive manner towards other dogs, but after all, they have been through a traumatic time and also may not feel confident in new situations, and also may feel they need to defend their new owner. Training and empathic handling will help ensure a happy situation.Charly is a young and active dog who will need lots of walks and lots of fun, so he is looking for an active and enthusiastic owner. He will need company most of the time.

Corrie

Berkshire
SexFemale
Age2 years
BreedCollie

(13kg)Cute young Corrie was handed into a dog pound as a stray but was never reclaimed and has now come to DBARC to find a permanent loving home. She is a sweet and very intelligent little girl as well as being a very fun and active dog who will suit someone who enjoys a bright and energetic companion, and would ideally enjoy a dog activity such as Flyball or Agility, or learning lots of fun tricks. As with most collie types, she will need to exercise her brain as well as her body! As we have no long term history for Corrie, we would not wish to place her with children under 10 years. She is unknown with cats or small pets, and although we do not know if she has lived with other dogs, we do know that she has been friendly and playful with dogs in the rescue environment and this will need to be maintained by her adopter allowing careful introduction to safe and well mannered dogs.Corrie would benefit from and greatly enjoy dog training classes and this gives the chance to meet other dogs in a controlled situation as well as a chance for her to learn fun stuff. She will certainly need an interesting and active lifestyle as well, and company most of the time.

Donny, a 1 year old male Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier available for adoption from DBARC in Berkshire

DBARC

Donny

Berkshire
SexMale
Age1 year
BreedSoft Coated Wheaten Terrier

(9kg) Because cute little Donny was handed into a dog pound as a stray, we don't know much about him - but we do know that he is a super friendly, super fun little chap whose tail just never stops wagging - he is full of joy and full of energy! He really is just a puppy and his adopter will need to be ready to teach him lots of things, as it is unlikely that whoever discarded this little darling at such a young age will have put much time and effort into his training. So dog training classes will be absolutely essential straight away, as well as general dog life skills training. His adopter will need to have the time and energy to help Donny to catch up with his education, as well as time to spare for lots of fun and games as this is a really happy and playful youngster!Donny has no long term history so we would not wish to place him with children under 10 years. We do not know if he has been with cats or small pets, but he is a terrier cross so is likely to chase. He has been good with other dogs while in rescue although extremely playful. Good dog manners are important and can best be achieved by attending dog school and by allowing him to meet nice calm canine companions.Donny is an energetic and interactive little dog who will do best with an adopter of similar characteristics! He is just a pup so will need company most of the time,

Milo, a 6 years old male Collie x Labrador available for adoption from DBARC in Berkshire

DBARC

Milo

Berkshire
SexMale
Age6 years
BreedCollie x Labrador

was adopted from us 3 years ago, but has very sadly had to come back to us because the only person in the family able to walk him is ill and unable to do so. Milo has doubled in weight since he left as he has not been having the exercise. He is now on a strict doggie diet and exercise regime to get him back in shape. The family who adopted him say he is a very barky dog and reacts to many things in the home like the TV, birds, doorbell etc. We feel this may be partly due to frustration from not getting the physical and mental exercise he needs and being in a busy home - so his new family will need to understand this and be willing and able to help him. In the home he has been a very loving dog who enjoys cuddles and has been good with children. He is not happy in the kennel environment so we hope he can find a family who will offer him his true forever home very soon.

Prince, a 6 years old male Collie available for adoption from DBARC in Berkshire

DBARC

Prince

Berkshire
SexMale
Age6 years
BreedCollie

(18kg)Prince has come into rescue care after a bereavement in his life and no family member able to take him on. He is a lovely dog who is clearly very keen to find a loving new owner, and he is a gentle and affectionate dog who really loves to be handled and petted. It is likely that he has been a well loved dog in the past and must feel quite desolate now.Prince is not known to have lived with children, so we would not wish to place him with youngsters under 10 years. He has not lived with cats or small pets. We understand that he has lived a fairly quiet life so will need kind and empathic introduction to the wider world. He has not lived with other dogs until he came into rescue but has been good with dogs he has met, although far more interested in having human company than making canine friends.Prince is an easy dog to handle, and an even easier dog to fall in love with as he has such lovely ways. He has been used to having company most of the time,
