DBARC

Colin

Berkshire
SexMale
Age2 years
BreedCollie

(18 kg)Handsome young Colin was found as a stray but never reclaimed. He has now come to DBARC to find a loving, permanent home. Colin has been in the care of an experienced animal welfare worker whilst waiting to come to us, and so although we do not know much about his past, we know that he is a friendly dog with people of all ages, although as we do not have a long term history for him, we would not wish to place him with children under 10 years. He is unknown with cats, but is good with other dogs. Colin walks well on the lead, travels well and is a very intelligent dog who will need some further training to help him develop further, to build a bond with his new owner, and to keep his busy collie brain occupied! So dog training classes will be an essential element in owning this gorgeous boy.Colin has a sweet nature and will make a great companion sof someone who enjoys the company of an active and intelligent dog. He would love to learn a dog sport such ad Agility or Flyball , and will certainly need lots of walks - and lots of cuddles! He will need company most of the time ‍

Corrie, a 2 years old female Collie available for adoption from DBARC in Berkshire

DBARC

Corrie

Berkshire
SexFemale
Age2 years
BreedCollie

(13kg)Cute young Corrie was handed into a dog pound as a stray but was never reclaimed and has now come to DBARC to find a permanent loving home. She is a sweet and very intelligent little girl as well as being a very fun and active dog who will suit someone who enjoys a bright and energetic companion, and would ideally enjoy a dog activity such as Flyball or Agility, or learning lots of fun tricks. As with most collie types, she will need to exercise her brain as well as her body! As we have no long term history for Corrie, we would not wish to place her with children under 10 years. She is unknown with cats or small pets, and although we do not know if she has lived with other dogs, we do know that she has been friendly and playful with dogs in the rescue environment and this will need to be maintained by her adopter allowing careful introduction to safe and well mannered dogs.Corrie would benefit from and greatly enjoy dog training classes and this gives the chance to meet other dogs in a controlled situation as well as a chance for her to learn fun stuff. She will certainly need an interesting and active lifestyle as well, and company most of the time.

BreedSoft Coated Wheaten Terrier

Her puppies are all weaned now and Mia has improved massively in her condition. She is now ready to find a loving new home.Despite her horrendous experiences, she is just the sweetest and most affectionate little dog you could ever imagine. We all love her to bits so it will need to be a special someone for her.

Moose, a 4 years old male Labrador available for adoption from DBARC in Berkshire

DBARC

Moose

Berkshire
SexMale
Age4 years
BreedLabrador

was given up for rehoming after his former owners moved to a property without a securely fenced garden, which inevitably led to Moose going exploring, and they felt they were not able to provide a safe environment for him. Prior to this he had been used to a large secure area in a rural setting and had done very little lead walking, and is still quite strong on the lead, something that is being worked on in the rescue but will need to be continued in his new home, so he will need a fit and active owner who is competent in handling lively dogs! Moose is a really fun character who loves to play and loves his walks, and so is not suited to a quiet lifestyle.Moose is friendly with everyone but is too bouncy and boisterous to live with children under 10 years, and is not used to cats or small pets. He is good with other dogs but is a very boisterous dog when playing, shich many dogs do not like. for this reason we would think best that he is an "only dog".Moose is a happy, energetic extrovert who will do best with an owner with similar qualities! He will need company most of the time.

Mr B (bruiser), a 10 years old male Pomeranian available for adoption from DBARC in Berkshire

DBARC

Mr B (bruiser)

Berkshire
SexMale
Age10 years
BreedPomeranian

(8 kg) Meet Mr B he’s a Pomeranian cross, he’s 10 years old and a neutered male.We have been caring for Mr B since November last year. He was initially called Bruiser, but a less bruiser like dog you could not meet, so we call him Mr B ️On arrival with us we noticed he had a problem with both of his knees. But we also discovered he to have some liver disease. This had to be treated before he could proceed to surgery on both knees. This will be an ongoing condition which he receives simple medication.Surgical procedures on both knees have proved very successful and has been followed up by an intensive course of physiotherapy. This has restored his full mobility. So now Mr B is looking for a loving permanent home. We thought we had found one with him, but sadly the potential adopter had to withdraw due to an issue with her own dog.Mr B is an absolute sweetie who deserves a fantastic home after all he has been through. He loves everyone but we do not know if he has lived with young children. He is great with other dogs and has met lots during his time here. Are you the special someone for this lovely dog?

Polly, a 2 years old female Whippet available for adoption from DBARC in Berkshire

DBARC

Polly

Berkshire
SexFemale
Age2 years
BreedWhippet

Polly was found straying along with another similar dog, but they were never reclaimed and it is most likely that they were simply abandoned. Polly is a sensitive dog who is very shy & will need a lot of time & patience to learn people mean her no harm. It is likely that she may have had some less than kind treatment in her past life, but consistent and loving handling will soon build her confidence.Polly is not used to living with cats or small pets, and given her sighthound genes, would be quite likely to chase them She is good with other dogs. Polly has no long term history so we would not wish to place her with children under 10 years.Because she is so shy - we feel she would be best placed in a home with another kind & confident dog to be her mentor Having been unwanted at such an early age does mean that Polly is likely to have missed out on early training, so her adopters will need to be ready to help her catch up, and training classes will be an essential part of that process as well as normal training in the home, socialising with other kind dogs and habituation to the wider world. She is a normal, healthy and active youngster who will need plenty of exercise and company most of the time.

Shep, a 7 years old male Collie available for adoption from DBARC in Berkshire

DBARC

Shep

Berkshire
SexMale
Age7 years
BreedCollie

(20 kg)Shep is a lovely boy who has led a rather sad and loveless life, and then just been given up for rehoming because his owners had lost- interest him, poor guy. Apparently he has not enjoyed any affection or much attention, and basically just hung around the house and garden, enduring a lonely life. Despite this he is a sweet boy who just longs to be loved and to have his own specia someone.Shep has not lived with cats or small pets. He has not lived with children, so we would not wish to place him with youngsters under 10 years. He has been in in a care facility for several weeks waiting for a space at DBARC, and has mixed freely with a large number of other dogs and has been good with all.Shep walks nicely on the lead, but has been largely ignored, which is so sad as he loves his walks. We hope someone is ready to give him all the things he has been missing out on, and company most of the time.

Zeus, a 6 years old male Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier available for adoption from DBARC in Berkshire

DBARC

Zeus

Berkshire
SexMale
Age6 years
BreedSoft Coated Wheaten Terrier

Zeus has had a very confusing time, as he has been a loved pet until his owner became homeless. This led to the owner and Zeus actually living in a car for a while, but with no option of dog-friendly accommodation possible, Zeus's former owner made the hard decision that it would be in the best interests of the dog to find him a loving, permanent home. Zeus has had a stressful time with so much upheaval in his life, so now needs a calm and experienced dog owner so that he can feel seure and loved again.Zeus has not lived with children, and we would like to home him to an ault home. He has not lived with cats or small pets. In rescue he has taken very little notice of other dogs, and chooses not to interact with them, clearly preferring human compay and to be a solo dog.Zeus loves his walks, and enjoys just being out in the garden, watching the humans doing the actual gardening, which he just has a sniff and potter around! He is good in the car - after all he used to live in one! - and is good on the lead, and loves to be part of an energetic lifestyle with a reassuring human friend. He will need company most of the time.
