The team ensures comprehensive medical testing, safe transport arrangements for Romanian rescues, and continued post-adoption support. Karen has personally helped rehome over 1,000 Romanian dogs and oversees medical compliance, transport coordination, and follow-up care.

I have more photos below! Check out my video Large Lab Mix 8 Years Old Dog Friendly? Likes Dogs Cat Friendly? No Cats Child Friendly? Children over 12 Neutered? Yes Big Fred is one of our favourites, and it’s not hard to see why. His happy smile, big personality and affectionate nature make him a much-loved resident of our kennels. He is the perfect example of tall, dark and handsome, although he could perhaps work on being a little more suave with the ladies. Having been with us for a while now, it’s fair to say he’s been unlucky in love so far. He was originally rescued from Romania after being pulled from a kill shelter. He has spent a little over 2 years with us, never finding his permanent home. His size can be intimidating to some, but big-dog lovers quickly realise that he’s really just a big, soppy softie. All of our staff are comfortable handling him as he walks well on the lead; however, he has shown a keen interest in birds and small furries, so a Gencon works best to keep him under control when he gets over-excited. We have put plenty of training into Big Fred so we would love to see his forever home follow this. We are happy to offer a handling session and plenty of follow-ups with his forever home. Big Fred has never shared indoor space with another dog before, but this could be a possibility following a successful meet and greet. That said, we honestly think he has more than enough love to give on his own. He is neutral with unfamiliar dogs when out on walks, which is ideal. He has also made friends with the other resident dogs in the kennels, including his best friend and kennel neighbour, Colin. Mostly because Colin always shares his treats when he comes back from “day release”. Roast potatoes from the pub are his favourite. While Big Fred can take his time to trust new people, it doesn’t take very long for him to warm up, he seems to be more trusting easily trusting of men, he is a proper “lad dog” so we can understand why. Our staff love sneaking into Big Fred’s kennel for a cuddle. He adores a good scratch and will usually paw at your arm if you have the audacity to stop fussing him for more than a few seconds. He is a leaner, resting his full weight against your side when you sit together. Big Fred is a happy lad who is almost always wagging his tail, so much so that last year he sadly had to have most of it removed after wagging it to the point where it repeatedly split. Thankfully, he hasn’t mourned the loss of his lovely long tail. In fact, having a shorter one just means it can wiggle and wag even faster, with no consequences at all! As Big Fred has been with us for so long, a big change such as moving into a forever home may come as a surprise to him. We would therefore advise patience, structure and clear routines in his new home, along with plenty of time to decompress. We will be on board with his new owners throughout the process, ensuring that his next home truly is his forever one. Adoption Fee (£400) Microchipped Please accept cookies to access this content

BreedLabrador

I have more photos below. Watch my video! Medium/Large Lab Mix Age: 2.5 Years Dog Friendly? Ideally only dog in home Cat Friendly? Likes Cats Child Friendly? No Children Neutered? Yes Originally rescued as a puppy from a rubbish dump in Macedonia along with her eight siblings, Cleo now longs to be the focal point in a home where she has the space to stretch her legs and play. She spent almost a year in a home but was returned due to her struggling with the bustling environment; the numerous children, resident dogs, and high noise levels caused her stress and made it difficult for her to adjust. She is now flourishing in the more tranquil environment of our kennels. We would like to rehome her locally so that we can continue to provide support to her adopters. A lady with long legs and an agile build, she cherishes her daily sprints across our secure field. We hope to find her a home with an enclosed garden where she can let loose. Her high energy and intelligence mean she would excel with one-to-one training and engagement. Young and brimming with potential, Cleo would make an excellent agility dog and has already mastered the basic commands, eagerly offering her paw for a delicious treat. She is very food motivated but also loves her toys, an old football is perfect for her to play fetch and tug-of-war with, this is a great way to get some of her excess energy out before a walk. Cleo tends to get excited at the start of her walks, probably because she is thrilled to be out and about. As she gets used to her new home routine, walks will become a regular part of her day, helping her stay calm and composed. After she calms down, she’s great on a walk, using a harness and slip lead. She’s content to ignore other dogs, interacts nicely when it’s called for, but much prefers her personal space. Because of this, we believe she would do best as the only dog in a household. Trust us, she has plenty of love to share! She’s adored by her caregivers and has many quirks that always keep us amused. If she thinks you’re not giving her the attention she deserves, she’ll nudge your hands with her paw until she’s content. Sometimes, after a bout of zoomies, her floppy ears can’t quite figure out where they want to be, leaving her with one ear down and the other hilariously flipped up. Cleo recently had a chance to meet some animals, and she did great! She’s curious about cats and enjoys a good sniff but doesn’t show any aggression. She also encountered chickens and peacocks and was content to just sniff around without displaying any hunting instincts. Cleo thrives on a raw food diet, which has been fantastic for her health and keeping her in great shape. We hope her new family will continue this diet. If you think she looks a lot like Little Fred, another one of our dogs, you’re right—they’re littermates! Their similar cheerful dispositions are just one of the many traits they share. She has tested negative for brucellosis, leishmaniasis and has passed her Snap 4D test which tests for heartworm, ehrlichia and anaplasma. A healthy, happy girl.

Coco, a 5 years old male Caucasian Shepherd available for adoption from Doggy Dens UK Rescue in Nottinghamshire

I have more photos below! Caucasian Shepherd Age: 5 Years Dog Friendly? Yes Cat Friendly? Lived with Cats Previously Child Friendly? Children over 15 Neutered? No Location: Nottingham, UK Gorgeous Coco is looking for a home where she can do what she was bred for – to be a loyal guardian, watching over her territory and keeping her people safe. The Caucasian Shepherd is a large and powerful guardian breed from the Caucasus Mountains. Originally bred to protect livestock from predators, they are fearless, loyal, and highly protective. Coco is not your average house pet and will need a very special kind of home. Coco certainly kept us on our toes when she first arrived. After spending the first five years of her life with one family, she sadly came to us after they separated. She passed all her initial assessments and showed herself to be a loving family pet. However, the change in environment caused her significant stress. It took our head rescuer several days of consistent visits (and quite a few chicken sausages!) before Coco began to relax and trust us enough to move her to an outdoor kennel – a setting she much prefers. Now, she’s starting to show her cheeky, flirtatious side – wagging her tail and play-bowing when you arrive. We’ve been introducing her to new people slowly, always with plenty of treats to help build trust. Coco needs a very specific kind of home where she can truly thrive. Ideally, we’re looking for a rural home with land – perhaps a smallholding or a farm – where she can satisfy her natural instincts to protect and patrol. In her previous home, she would spend most of the day outdoors surveying her territory, coming inside in the evenings knowing her job was done. She has previously lived with cats and young children, but due to her size and strength, any introductions would need to be handled with care and caution. Adoption fees apply. Microchipped.

I have more photos below, check out my video! Medium Mix Breed Age: 1 (turning 2 in October) Dog Friendly? Like Dogs Cat Friendly? Not Cat Tested Child Friendly? Children over 12 Neutered? Yes Location: Romania Deya is a sweet girl who is looking for someone to give her the loving home she has missed out on so far. She is a lovely black, wire-haired dog with a small white patch on her chest. Similar in size to a Labrador, Deya has a very affectionate nature and enjoys being close to people. She was found in a kill shelter in Romania with no known history. We don’t know how she ended up there, but her loving personality and comfort around humans lead us to believe she was once raised around people before being abandoned or picked up by dog catchers. Deya is quite a funny girl. In many of her photos she looks as though she has just spotted a rather large spider in the corner of the room! She may not be the most photogenic pup, but in person she is a really sweet girl with a gentle and affectionate nature. Now that she has left the shelter and moved into temporary foster care, she is enjoying life in a home environment and loves being curled up indoors where it is warm and cosy. She gets on well with other dogs and could happily share her forever home with a doggy sibling. Having another dog around could also help guide her, as it is possible this would be Deya’s first permanent home. She has not yet been cat tested, but this is something we could arrange for an interested adopter. Deya would benefit from a home that can provide routine and help her learn boundaries. She will thrive in a stable environment where she knows what to expect, which will help her continue to build confidence. As she is still young, she will need support with training. When she makes her way to our UK kennels, she will receive a head start through our Doggy Dens Bootcamp to help ensure she makes a positive first impression on potential adopters. Deya has been cat tested and would be fine living with a cat in the home. I have more photos below! Labradoodle Age: 5 Years Old (DOB 3/8/2020) Dog Friendly? Likes Dogs Cat Friendly? No Cats Child Friendly? Children over 8 Neutered? Yes Location: Nottingham Handsome Fred, what a stunner! He’s an absolutely gorgeous Labradoodle with a lovely curly cream coat typical of the breed. He’s on the bigger side but weighs a dainty 23.9 kg. Looking for a home where he can get the time and attention he needs, Fred would make a great addition to most households. He has been in the same home all his life. Unfortunately, his owner has experienced several significant life changes, meaning Fred is not receiving all the attention he needs. He would benefit from a home with a secure garden and access to good walking spots, as he loves being out and about. He settles well in the home and was originally crate-trained, though he now sleeps through the night in his bed. Fred can be timid when first meeting new people, but he soon warms up. He would benefit from some confidence-building, which would come naturally in a home where he is gently exposed to new experiences with a calm, confident handler. Fred is fine with other dogs but has never shared indoor space with one. He could potentially live with another dog following a successful meet and greet. He currently lives with a young child, so he could also live with children in his new home. However, he can be a little unaware of his size at times, so we would ideally like any children to be over 8 years old to help prevent accidental tumbles. I have more photos! Scroll down and check me out Labrador Mix 5 Years Old Dog Friendly? Yes, after slow introductions. Cat Friendly? No Child Friendly? Over 14 Neutered? Yes Our boy Freddie is a much-loved resident at our kennels. He is a handsome lad with a charming personality, dirty blonde fur and gorgeous amber eyes. He is happiest when he’s playing in our field with his football, and he might even let you get a few kicks in if you can catch him. Freddie has been with us for over two years, which is such a shame because he really is a wonderful boy. He is friendly with people, clean in his crate, knows all his commands and is neutral with other dogs when out on walks. He walks beautifully on lead with a gencon (in fact, he would walk for miles if you let him, as he loves being out and about). In the evenings he enjoys snuggling up and happily sleeps through the night. Unfortunately, Freddie has a disease called Leishmaniasis. A quick Google search can make this sound very serious; however, Freddie is very fortunate in that it does not affect his life in any way. He is asymptomatic, meaning he does not suffer from the typical symptoms sometimes seen in dogs who do not receive appropriate treatment. He takes a small tablet daily with his food, which he wolfs down completely none the wiser, and has a yearly blood test. Our vets have said he is one of the healthiest Leish+ dogs they have ever seen, and we can confidently say that Freddie is living a happy, healthy life. We would also like to make it very clear that Leishmaniasis cannot be spread to other dogs, animals or humans. If there is one thing Freddie truly loves, it’s football. He is at his happiest in our field, charging around with his ball in his mouth. He also loves training and listens very well when treats are involved. He has mastered our assault course, confidently leaping over ramps and through the tyre hoop. Once he’s tired himself out, he likes to join us in our caravan for a cuddle, leaning into you so you can pop an arm around him. Freddie has a wonderfully silly, affectionate streak that makes him a firm favourite with our staff and volunteers. Freddie is neutral towards other dogs when out on walks, which is ideal. He has not shared indoor space with another dog before, but this could be considered following a successful meet and greet. We are looking for a home without cats or small furries. Freddie does like children, but due to his size and energy levels we would recommend a home with children aged 14+. A garden where he can play football is an absolute must, he insists! He can push his luck at times, but he knows the word “no” and will listen once he’s finished throwing a brief teenage strop. Recently, we’ve had the feeling that Freddie is starting to feel a little depressed in the kennels. While he enjoys his routine and loves spending time with our staff and volunteers, what he really wants is a home. A place where he can feel loved and have all the individual attention he deserves. All he asks for is someone with a little patience and understanding who’s willing to take a chance on him. We would also consider a long-term foster placement for Freddie. He is an absolutely cracking dog and, although we would be very sad to see him go, we would be thrilled to see him settled into a loving home of his own. I have more photos coming soon, check out my video! Labrador Mix Dog Friendly? Like Dogs Cat Friendly? Not Cat Tested Child Friendly? Children over 12 Neutered? Yes Location: Nottingham Who doesn’t love a blonde? Mason is a gorgeous lad looking for a loving home where he can receive all the attention he so rightfully deserves. With soft blonde fur, soulful brown eyes, and a sweet expression that says, “come have a cuddle”, he is simply irresistible. Mason is one of many dogs who have sadly found themselves at a kill shelter through no fault of their own. What first caught our eye was his adorable raised paw. At first, it seemed like it might be an injury, but after being pulled from the shelter and vet-checked, we discovered there was nothing wrong, he must have learned to raise it to get attention. We believe Mason had a home before ending up at the shelter. Not only does his paw trick hint at previous training, but he is also neutered, which is uncommon for older shelter dogs. He’s comfortable on a lead and absolutely adores people. Mason is happiest when close to someone. He gets along well with other dogs and could happily share a forever home with a canine companion. For his age, Mason is quite chilled, though we expect that once he settles into a forever home, his playful side will start to shine. For now, he gives lovely gentle kisses and will jump up for cuddles, which, given his size, can be a bit much! We’ll start some training as soon as he joins us at our Nottingham kennels to ensure that he heads off to his forever home on the right foot. Mason hasn’t been cat-tested, so we wouldn’t recommend a home with cats at this stage. However, once he’s with us in Nottingham, we’ll introduce him to some cats and other animals near our kennels to see how he gets along. Murphy, a 10 years old male Cavalier King Charles Spaniel available for adoption from Doggy Dens UK Rescue in Nottinghamshire

I have more photos below, check out my video! Spaniel Mix Age: 10 Months Dog Friendly? Likes Dogs Cat Friendly? No Cats Child Friendly? Children over 8 Neutered? Not yet due to age Location: Nottingham Being around Murphy is definitely an experience. He is full of beans, all over the shop and going at 100mph. Murphy is a lovely mixed breed made up mostly of Spaniel, although as he is still young we won’t know his exact mix until he is fully grown. With his all-black coat and eyes that look like butter wouldn’t melt, his cuteness is the perfect cover for getting away with all kinds of mischief. Murphy came to us after we were contacted by social services, as he was being kept in a home that was not suitable for him. He arrived with zero training, no socialisation skills and no boundaries. He was climbing the walls with frustration. At just 10 months old he is still very much a puppy and needed nurturing and guidance to help him grow. Thankfully, now that he is with us in our Nottinghamshire kennels, he is already showing so much positive change. When Murphy first arrived he didn’t know how to walk on a lead or how to interact appropriately with other dogs. He is now learning his manners and is soaking up all the training we are giving him. He does like to push his luck with other dogs and will need to learn to manage his enthusiasm before he gets a telling-off from someone much bigger than him! Being part Spaniel means he is an intelligent boy with plenty to learn. Murphy has come on leaps and bounds after being with us for only a few days. His forever home will need to continue the work we have started. Boundaries, routine and training will be Murphy’s magic three when he moves into a new home. The last thing we want is for him to fall back into bad habits. Murphy could live with another dog, but he will need continued socialisation as he can come on a bit strong and assumes everyone wants to be his friend. Having a well-behaved dog in the home could help him learn the ropes. He would also be just as happy as the only dog, provided he has plenty of training, playtime and some enforced switch-off time. He can be boisterous with children but has never shown any aggression. We think children aged 8 and over would be suitable, ideally with some previous experience of dogs. An active home would be perfect for Murphy so he can enjoy long walks and make the most of his exuberant personality. Murphy is not suitable for a home with cats, as he does show a prey drive. For this reason, we would also advise against a home with small furries that he may mistake for chew toys. A tether toy on a string would be a great way to engage his chase instincts in a controlled way, allowing him to indulge his prey drive safely without any risk to other animals. I have more photos below! Large Mix Breed Age: 2 Years Dog Friendly? Likes Dogs Cat Friendly? No Child Friendly? No Children Neutered/Spayed? Yes Our beloved Oakley has returned to us after her adoption did not go as planned. She is an absolute stunner, boasting white blonde fur that’s soft to the touch, ideal for snuggles. Her charming floppy ears and large, expressive puppy eyes make her a standout beauty among the dogs in our kennels. She had been with them for nearly a year, yet her nervousness proved challenging for them to handle. The bustling family life was not a good fit for her, so she has returned to us. We are hopeful to find her a home that values her gentle pace and can offer a tranquil setting where she can not only emerge from her shell but also thrive. She gets along well with other dogs, so a home with a confident canine companion could benefit her by providing guidance. She enjoys playing in our secure field and is fond of her toys. Oakley’s humorous and playful nature never fails to make us laugh. Oakley lacks confidence and often finds it challenging to cope with unfamiliar outdoor environments. A handler with experience in dealing with shy, nervous dogs would be ideal for her. Her anxiety typically presents as barking and posturing to appear intimidating, which is her way of deterring perceived threats. We are actively engaged in a training regimen designed to bolster her confidence and improve her reactions to various stimuli. Oakley is making excellent progress; however, it is crucial that her future adopter is committed to sustaining this positive trajectory. We would like to rehome her locally so that we can continue to provide support to her adopters. Once Oakley has built trust, she becomes a cuddly and humorous companion, full of affection and playfulness. She enjoys visiting our office, quickly making the sofa her own and engaging with her toy. However, her endearing puppy eyes usually mean she won’t be by herself on the sofa for too long! The ideal environment for Oakley would be a home without cats or young children. She may be suitable to live with older teenagers, but she is not comfortable with strangers in her space. Crate training plays a significant role in helping Oakley adjust to new surroundings, providing her with a personal area where she can retreat when she wants solitude is key to her comfort. I have more photos below, check out my video! Medium Mix Breed Dog Friendly? Like Dogs Cat Friendly? Likes Cats Child Friendly? Children over 12 Neutered? Yes Location: Romania The Romanian snow doesn’t bother little Raven one bit. His soft, fluffy coat keeps him warm and cosy, no matter the weather. Raven is a truly gorgeous boy who’s dreaming of a home where he can curl up, feel safe, and enjoy lots of cuddles. His shiny black coat is brightened by a sweet white patch on his chest and the most adorable spotty legs. One look at his gentle face and you can’t help but fall in love. Raven is a very lucky boy. He narrowly escaped the kill shelter, and thanks to his calm, gentle nature he was given a place in foster care, where he can finally relax while waiting for his forever family. At first, all the attention felt a bit overwhelming, but once he realised he was safe and no one was going to hurt him, his walls slowly came down. Now he’s discovered just how nice a soft chin scratch can be. Raven is still finding his confidence. Most of the time his tail stays tucked low, but every now and then you’ll spot a shy little wag that shows how far he’s already come. When he trusts you, his sweet personality really shines through. He’s a kind, gentle soul who just wants to feel loved. He gets along well with other dogs and would be happy to share his new home with a canine friend. Having another dog around would give someone to learn from. You will have to ignore the small nick under his eye, there is a small dog also in foster who isn’t overly fond of him and Raven doesn’t always have the best luck with the ladies. Raven could also live with a cat, especially one who is used to dogs. He’s a bit puzzled by cats and doesn’t quite know what to think of them yet, so slow, gentle introductions would help everyone settle in happily. But at the end of the day, Raven would just be happy to be in a loving home where he feels safe. We don’t know if Raven has lived with children before. As an older dog who came from a shelter, it’s possible he once had a family of his own. Because he can feel overwhelmed at times, we’d recommend a home with children aged 12 and over, who can understand when he needs a little space. A crate would be a lovely safe haven for Raven — a quiet spot where he can retreat and relax whenever he needs some time to himself. Yes Location: Romania Roxy is a stunning girl who is looking for a loving home. She is a medium-sized, wire-haired dog, similar in size to a Labrador, with a sweet face and a charming schnauzer-like beard. Roxy is an affectionate girl who loves attention from her carers. Not much is known about Roxy’s background. She was rescued from a kill shelter in Romania and brought to our temporary foster accommodation. As she is still young, she may have been born on the streets and picked up by dog catchers, or it is possible that she once had a home but was abandoned. Roxy is a friendly girl who is happy to say hello to people, so we believe she was probably raised around humans before finding herself at the shelter. Now that she has had time to settle outside of the shelter, she is loving all the attention. Roxy is a real cuddle bug and enjoys spending time with her carers. She is great with other dogs and would be happy sharing her forever home with a canine friend. As this may be Roxy’s first time living in a home environment, a doggy sibling could be a great guide for her and give her someone to follow while she learns the ins and outs of family life. Roxy is also cat-friendly. She is far more interested in cuddling with her human friends, so a home with cats could be an option for her—ideally with cats who have met dogs before. She is good with children and could live in a home with children aged 12 and over. Due to her size and young age, she can become a little excitable when playing. A home with a garden would be wonderful so she can sunbathe in the summer and enjoy playing with her ball and toys. As she is still technically a puppy, Roxy would benefit from a home that can help her learn boundaries and establish a routine. She is a sponge for training and will be eager to learn. When she has her bags packed and makes her journey to the UK, she will receive a great head start with her training to ensure she leaves for her new home on the right paw. Yes Shelby is shy at first but once trust is established she is extremely affectionate and loving. She will need a home that has experience with shy/low confidence dogs. She was originally rescued from Romania and has had some less than pleasant experiences in the past (domestic violence). She walks very well on the lead and is neutral towards dogs that she sees, she could potentially live with another dog (ideally a calm older dog) we would hold a meet-and-greet with any dog she would be living with to make sure that introductions are positive. We would like her to be in a quiet home with no children. Shelby cannot live with cats. She is raw fed but her favourite food is Quavers, she will share but has the majority to herself. She needs a home who understands her shy exterior and can encourage her silly, affectionate personality to take centre stage. We truly believe Shelby will thrive in the right home.
