About Durham Dogs & Cats Home

Durham Dogs & Cats Home is a registered animal welfare charity dedicated to giving unwanted dogs and cats a second chance at life. Founded with the rescue of just two dogs, the charity has since helped thousands of animals through rescue, rehabilitation, and rehoming, with particular focus on dogs at risk in local council pounds. Each animal receives high-quality care, including veterinary treatment and emotional rehabilitation, to prepare them for a fresh start in a loving home. Supported by dedicated staff, volunteers, and veterinary partners, Durham Dogs & Cats Home continues to work tirelessly to protect vulnerable animals and improve their futures.

With so many new faces, Queenie found it difficult to know who she could trust. But with plenty of patience, reassurance and, of course, a good supply of tasty treats, this little lady has really come out of her shell and shown us what an incredibly affectionate girl she is.Queenie’s favourite pastime is snoozing on a willing lap, preferably before heading out for a little tootle in the sunshine. She is a girl who knows exactly how to enjoy the finer things in life!Queenie also seems to get along well with other dogs and is happy to have a little play.
