About Fetcher Dog

Fetcher Dog is a registered Charity Commission organisation (No. 1182392) rescuing dogs from UK pounds and the streets and kill shelters of Bosnia. Responding to the growing crisis in UK pounds—where dogs can be euthanised after just seven days—the charity works with local dog wardens, Kent Police and councils to provide safe rescue spaces. In Bosnia, Fetcher Dog supports local rescuers who remove dogs from harsh street conditions and kill shelters, ensuring they receive food, veterinary care and rehabilitation. The charity then carefully matches these dogs with loving forever homes across England and Wales, giving them a second chance at a safe and happy life.

Angel, a 4 years old female Crossbreed available for adoption from Fetcher Dog in Kent

Angel

Kent
SexFemale
Age4 years
BreedCrossbreed

Angel came to us from a pound in the U.K. We believe she had been used for breeding and then dumped when she was no longer of use. Based on the photos that we saw of Angel before her arrival, we knew she would need some veterinary assessment on her legs and these have since been completed. Angel is a pocket bully and poor breeding has lead to some deformities in her limbs. Her x-rays do show curvature of the bones in her front legs but no other issues such as arthritis were detected. Angel needs to gain some strength and stamina as it is clear she has not been used to a lot of exercise and it will be important for her future adopter to keep her at a healthy weight but the vets have said that there is nothing to currently worry about with her health.Angel came in and was immediately the sweetest dog. She is extremely affectionate and loves to sit on our laps for cuddles and affection. She does like to wander around our fields and do lots of sniffing but does end up coming back and joining us for cuddles. She is food motivated which will help with training. Angel has been good with the other dogs at the centre but can be quite excited to meet new dogs so will need to learn to stay calm.We do not know if Angel has ever had a proper home life so she will need full training upon adoption.

Asher came to us from the pound when he was due to be put to sleep. It was clear he hadn't been treated with much kindness but as soon as he arrived at the centre and knew he was safe, he flourished ans quickly became the bouncing, loving and playful boy he was supposed to be.Asher is the most loving and sweet boy when he gets to know you. He loves to bound around our field and play and he really loves bum scratches and belly rubs. Asher has been good with the other dogs at the centre but was a bit fearful of them when he first arrived so will need slow introductions with new dogs so that he doesn't get overwhelmed. We do not know anything about Asher's life before the pound, so please expect to do full training upon adoption.

During that time, she won everyone's heart at the centre and has become a favourite for the whole team.Bambi is a sweet and loving girl who loves affection and belly rubs. Bowie, a 1 year old male Crossbreed available for adoption from Fetcher Dog in Kent

Fetcher Dog

Bowie

Kent
SexMale
Age1 year
BreedCrossbreed

Bowie and his brother Jimmy showed up in the pound a week apart after being found as strays. We believe they were bred by a breeder and when they remained unsold, they were dumped. They were both in terrible condition when they were found. Bowie was extremely underweight and scared but we knew we had to help him. However before he made it to us his health took a drastic turn and he started to show signs of parvovirus and he had to spend a week in the vets. No one was sure whether he would survive because of the terrible condition he was in to begin with but luckily, he made it through. This presented a challenge as he was then a parvovirus carrier and couldn’t come to the centre until he was completely better so Stephanie (one of our founders) took him home with her and she was able to nurse him back to health, get him back to a good weight and get him to the point where he could join the rest of our rescue at the centre. Bowie has made a wonderful recovery and is now ready for a forever home of his own.Bowie is a lovely boy who really loves attention and affection. His favourite things in the whole world are toys and he just loves to play with them, play tuggy and zoom around the field. He is a very high energy boy but is very motivated by food which helps with the games and mental stimulation he needs.

Cedric

Kent

BreedCrossbreed

Cedric was rescued from the pound when he was due to be put to sleep due to lack of space. He is now safe and waiting for a forever home of his own.Cedric is the most loving boy and has been a goofy and cuddly boy since we rescued him. Cedric has previously been adopted but was returned to us after about six months as he had become more anxious in the home and in the local area due to changes in routine and circumstances. Since his return back to the centre, he has been his loving and calm self, wanting cuddles from everyone he meets and interacting happily with the other dogs on centre. Because of this we think Cedric needs a calm home where he can get used to his routine and restart his training.

He is very affectionate and even though he can be a bit cautious and shy with new people, it doesn't take long to win him over. Chef greets us every day with a very wiggly bum and an awoo. Eddie

He is very friendly and loves affection. He loves his toys. He had a very sheltered life in his home for the last three years, not leaving his crate except for small trips into the garden for the toilet. Before this, he enjoyed his walks.Despite his age, he is an energetic boy who would enjoy going on walks. He can dislike some dogs and be reactive on the lead as he was previously attacked by a husky but this is not with all dogs.We do not know much about Eddie's life so please expect to do full training upon adoption.

Edgar, a 8 years old male Crossbreed available for adoption from Fetcher Dog in Kent

Fetcher Dog

Edgar

Kent
SexMale
Age8 years
BreedCrossbreed

Edgar came to us after he found himself at the vets with nowhere to go. He had been brought in as a stray but when the vets looked into it further, they believe the person who dropped him was actually his owner abandoning him. Edgar is now waiting for a forever home of his own.We think Edgar has had quite a sheltered life so kennels is quite overwhelming for him. He warms up to people quickly but would benefit from a calm and quiet household where he can laze around in his bed and hoard all of his favourite toys for when it's zoomie time. Edgar has been good with the other dogs at the centre but can be nervous if they are too over the top.We do not know anything about Edgar's life before he came to us so please expect to do full training upon adoption.

Francis, a 5 years old male Crossbreed available for adoption from Fetcher Dog in Kent

Fetcher Dog

Francis

Kent
SexMale
Age5 years
BreedCrossbreed

Francis was rescued from his life on the streets of Bosnia. He came to the U.K. and found himself a wonderful family but due to a severe allergy, they can no longer care for him.Francis is a very loveable, funny and cheeky boy. He absolutely loves having his belly rubbed and tickled especially first thing in the morning. He makes hilarious noises when he is lying on the floor and wanting your attention that will make you laugh so much. He is always happy to see you and spends most of his day wanting to be near you or next to you, although he equally loves to sleep and to play! Francis is now really good at playing on his own with his toys and gets excited if you introduce one to play with him. He has his mad 5 minute ‘zoomies’ each day and is so funny to watch when he does. Francis is obsessed with squirrels and will always bark and try to chase them in the garden!Francis has a cheeky side- if he wants you to play with him or make room for him on the sofa with you, he will sit and look at you and do a little high pitched bark for your attention! A bit cheeky but we have grown to love it and laugh when it happens.Francis is a very happy chap. He can be left alone in the house with no problems, although he will likely regress a little in a new home due to being nervous. Rest assured you will be able to build that up though, just like he has done currently. Francis can be a bit nervous and scared of new things, and is much more anxious in the dark if on a walk, you notice this from a quicker pace and he turns round more to check what is around him. He can be apprehensive going into new places and although he has grown loads in confidence, it is important to continue to work on this with him and build his confidence up slowly. He can be more quiet and subdued in new places if he is a bit unsure. Francis does not like water, and won’t go out in the garden for the toilet sometimes if it is raining heavily, which is not uncommon for some dogs. As a result, he was not keen on hydrotherapy when he needed it earlier this year (see below) but he did manage a few sessions.
