About Good Life Dog Rescue

Good Life Dog Rescue is a small UK charity dedicated to helping stray and abandoned dogs who often face an uncertain future. Founded by a passionate animal lover with over eight years of hands-on rescue experience, the charity is especially committed to supporting Staffies and Staffy crosses, who are too often overlooked. Entirely self-funded and run without paid staff, all donations and fundraising go directly toward kennel fees, walking, and vital veterinary care. While the rescue does not own kennels, dogs are safely boarded in Yorkshire until the right home is found. Through careful matching and responsible rehoming, the charity works hard to ensure every dog gets the fresh start they deserve.

WELCOME THE ADORABLE FIZZ. ONE BABY GIRL STAFFY CROSS LURCHER MIX.This beautiful young lady is now called Fizz. Fizz has come into our care from a Yorkshire stray kennels. She is adorable, very sweet natured and just a baby of approx eight months. Fizz has been health checked by our vets as a priority and started her vaccinations. She is now microchipped, treated for fleas and worms and just about ready to find the love of her life. Is that you? She has passed a full health check and adores being cuddled and fussed by everyone that crosses her path. Fizz is dog friendly, adores attention and could possibly live with a kind natured male dog that is neutered. She adores Dennis at the kennels. Fizz is amazing despite a cruel abandonment and a short stint in the stray kennels. She has already made incredible progress in our care and despite being very young she is calm and will lay down quietly after a fuss and her walk. She is extremely friendly, very very pretty and deserves a new start as soon as possible. Please read below to see what sort of home Fizz needs.WHAT HOME DOES FIZZ NEED? PLEASE SUPPORT.Fizz needs a dedicated and very loving home. She will need energy burn offs, an enclosed garden and someone who loves to go walking. She is extremely friendly and could possibly live with another dog that is very good natured. Fizz is possibly a mixed breed and a lurcher combination. We are now searching for a new home for Fizz where she will have plenty of company. Due to her young age we feel she needs extra time with humans during the day. Being left as lonely dogs is definitely not suitable for very young dogs and puppies. They need extra mental stimulation and energy burn offs. Company, guidance and extra training is all part of owning a young dog. We ensure she finds her perfect love match. Fizz would make a great family dog with older children as she is very affectionate and sweet in many ways. If you would love to meet this sweet girl and adore Lurchers then please complete an application by clicking on the button at the bottom of this page. Ourselves and Fizz would love to hear from you. Let's not leave this baby waiting in kennels. We thank people for their patience and kind words of support. We are working hard to accommodate many neglected dogs. Support and kindness towards our organisation is greatly appreciated. Due to the sheer volume of stray dogs now needing help our charity often treads water to manage an overwhelming workload. Our main priority is for the daily exercise and welfare of the dogs in our care.Good Life dog Rescue is run on a passion for the welfare of stray dogs. BreedStaffordshire Bull Terrier

INTRODUCING ONE LUCKY YOUNG MAN NOW NAMED MORRIS. WELCOME ANOTHER SAD STAFFY CROSS.Morris came into our care on 24th December 2025 from a Yorkshire stray kennels. Through no fault of his own and a shocking sad fact in todays society this youngster was booked into to be put to sleep. Morris has not done anything wrong except be born into what some may say the wrong skin. This loving and very friendly dog is a Staffy cross. He is approximately ten months old and was abandoned and unwanted. He is adorable and loves cuddles and human contact. He is extremely playful, full of joy and has a spice for life as any pup would oen. We welcome him with open arms and a very big heart along with so many of our other dogs who sadly were all in the same dilemma. Morris has been health check by our vets and is now embarking on a new lease of life. He is learning to enjoy the outside world and we are working on his lead training. Although Morris barks initially at other dogs in excitement once introduced he has been amazing and his instant excitement is defused. He loves to play and has recently been out walking with Shellie who also found herself with an uncertain future at the stray kennels due to being another Staffy cross. Morris is beautiful, a real sweetheart baby and has so much to live for. Please read below to find our what sort of home our new delicious young man requires. We welcome support and adoption enquiries. All our dogs are loving and friendly and deserve to find true rescue adopters.WHAT HOME DOES BEAUTIFUL MORRIS NEED?Morris is now looking for a much need new start with someone that adores Staffies and cross breed Staffies. Experience of owning a dog would be beneficial. This boy will warm your heart and soul. Due to being a pup Morris will need more training and guidance as he grows. He adores people and is very puppy like so more training will be needed over the next few months. This handsome chap knows all his basic commands and we feel with the right committed human he will blossom even more. He has already shown he has love and loyalty to give and the ability to learn quickly. Morris could potentially live with a very good natured female spayed dog. We would consider rehoming him within a family home with older children only. A home where someone can offer company is essential. Very young dogs easily become bored so it is important that time is given to Morris and he knows he is not alone. If you work long hours and would leave Morris or any of our young dogs for long periods then this would not be suitable. Morris is gorgeous in every way. We are overjoyed that Morris found a lifeline at our charity on the eleventh hour. Morris is adorable and has everything to live for and so much to offer. His life could of ended on 24th December and we are blessed to have him in our care. Please consider the strays of Yorkshire. It is important we match our dogs with people lifestyles. We help a huge amount of stray dogs from Yorkshire pounds. Anyone wishing to discuss any dogs or needing more information about our charity and the work we do then please telephone for an informal chat or email us via our adopt button on this page with details about yourself and the dog you are enquiring about. Lifestyle details are important when considering adoption. All our rescue dogs have different needs. Good Life Dog Rescue exists without staff and few dedicated, passionate volunteers. Please support through adoption. We have a huge volume of dogs now in our care and welcome interest.PLEASE COMPLETE AN APPLICATION FORM WITH ESSENTIAL DETAILS ABOUT YOURSELF BY CLICKING ON THE ADOPT ME BUTTON. PLEASE READ THE DETAILS ABOVE ABOUT THE HOME THESE DOGS NEED BEFORE APPLYING. HOME CHECKS AND VET REFERENCES IF POSSIBLE ARE NEEDED PRIOR ANY ADOPTION OF OUR RESCUE DOGS. THANK YOU.

URGENT APPEAL FOR BENSON. ONE GORGEOUS LARGE BREED CROSS BREED. THE SWEETEST BOY.This adorable handsome cross breed is Benson. He is such a sweet boy with a big heart. Since her arrived two weeks ago (10th Feb 2026) poor Benson has not received many sideways glances. He is one affectionate boy and of the larger variety. Benson came to us from the stray kennels as an emergency when the block he was on became extremely full. Unfortunately nobody came to collect Benson so Benny came to us as an urgent request from the dog warden. This boy has a sweet and loving nature and is extremely happy to be cuddled by all people. Benson almost falls asleep in your arms. Benson has shown no issues with other dogs on his walks and has so much love to give. He adores playtimes and running however we have yet to capture him smiling on camera. His photos do not do justice to this stunning and beautiful boy. Benson goes out walking with other dogs and he has been no trouble. He is extremely clean in kennels and despite being a little sad at the moment he has coped with being homeless very well. This said we would love to find Benny a new start as soon as possible. CAN YOU HELP? PLEASE CONSIDER THE LARGER BOYS AND GIRLS.WHAT HOME DOES BENSON NEED?Benson loves his walks and being with people. Somewhere in this dogs life there has been care, TLC and love. What has happened? We will never know and sadly we always need to move forward to find these dogs a new life. Most of the dogs at Good Life are from local stray kennels and they remain our priority. We feel their pain and loss of their home and often a cruel abandonment. Benson would love a home with company and regular exercise. He desperately craves human contact and as always our aim is to find him just that. Benson has been great with other dogs however he is a large dog and many smaller pets will find him intimidating. Benson is now six years old and needs a new life with plenty of company. He deserves happiness and to find someone that just loves larger breed dogs. Benson is castrated and will be vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms. He is now more than ready to meet any potential adopters yet he hardly ever receives a sideways glance or the interest he deserves. WE AIM FOR THE STARS AT GOOD LIFE EVERY DAY. BIG DOGS NEED LOVE TOO AND ARE OFTEN THE LAST HOMELESS HOUNDS TO FIND THEIR SPECIAL PEOPLE. ARE YOU BENSON'S SPECIAL PEOPLE?We have many amazing dogs that have fallen on very sad times and found themselves homeless and unwanted at stray kennels and in terrible situations. All of them are deserving of a new start and a special home. Please consider our rescue dogs for adoption today. Many of them struggle terribly with isolation and a kennel environment and own a broken heart. We endeavour to fix their empty hearts and broken soul. Our adopters remain our lifeline. Please support adoption. Calls are welcome to discuss any of our ladies and gents.

VERY URGENT APPEAL FOR BLAZE. 19 MONTHS IN STRAY KENNELS AND DESPERATE FOR A HOME.Blaze is one adorable, affectionate and friendly German Shepherd. He craves, love and attention and we desperately would love to find him a forever home. Blaze is now eight years old and has been left waiting for nineteen long months in stray kennels and isolation. An endured loneliness has been his life for such a long time. Blaze has been a lonely boy for so long and was the last dog to be moved on the eleventh hour from the Yorkshire kennels that is now closed. Blaze is playful and adores ball games and is loyal and so eager to please. He has so much love to give to anyone human and he will need a home with lots of company that are dedicated to his needs. This boy loves people and is now so happy to be walking with us on the Pennine trail. He has some arthritis his front shoulder so pain relief is now give as and when. We are well aware Blaze is not a fan of other dogs however he is more focused on being with people than anything else when he is chasing a ball. In the right home we feel Blaze will blossom as he has made amazing progress in our care. We have worked on moving forward with his reactivity however his behaviour with other dogs may always need to be managed well by his adopter. Blaze is now embarking on a new lease of life with us and we are hoping to turn many corners and enhance his life in every way possible. At the eleventh hour Blaze was the last dog to come into rescue care and we feel blessed that he has the chance of a new life. Blaze has been health checked by our vets and has passed with flying colours despite some recent arthritis diagnosis. He was the perfect gentleman when examined and being prodded and poked. He is loving life at the kennels and is in heaven chasing a ball and having a love from the girls. Blaze is doing so well and we are aiming very high to find him a new start as soon as possible. This beautiful boy is very loving and friendly despite such a sad isolation at the stray kennels. His life has been turbulent for a long time and we are now desperately to find him one very special rescue adopter. BLAZE NEVER RECEIVES ANY INTEREST. Please read on to see what sort of home Blaze needs. A FOSTER HOME IN YORKSHIRE AND SURROUNDING COUNTIES WILL BE CONSIDERED FOR BLAZE. THIS IS OUR URGENT APPEAL. GERMAN SHEPHERD FANS PLEASE CONSIDER THIS AMAZING DESERVING DOG.Blaze needs a special home. Above all else he needs TLC and love and lots of company. A home that is not too busy would be amazing and preferably with adults or older children only. A home that love and can offer walks and also have an enclosed garden is crucial. Blaze will bounce into life once in a home with company and luxuries and his toys. He is a real character and loves to carry sticks and balls. We feel he needs a home with patience and someone that can offer time for him to decompress. He has been through a turbulent and difficult seventeen months. A less busy home would be ideal for Blaze so he has time to desensitise and recover from his ordeal of being in isolation in kennels for such a long time. Blaze will need to be an only dog as he can be reactive despite making excellent progress with us. This boy has turned many corners since coming into our care and we are working very hard to support him and build up to slow introductions on walks with our other well mannered ladies. A home with adult children or adults only would be a must have and essentially a home with company. Blaze has so much love to give and we welcome visits from rescue supporters. Regular visits from potential adopters are always welcome. The world of rescue is a very sad place at the moment. The volume of abandoned dogs is overwhelming and the cruelty we are now seeing is literally soul destroying. in 2025 ourselves and other charities have been networking and supporting 22 stray dogs in need of help from the stray kennels where Blaze came from. Please support and consider adoption. All our rescue dogs are from local council kennels in Yorkshire. These dogs have no voice and they remain our priority. Please consider dogs like Blaze when looking to adopt. This deserving dog has so much love to give and deserves a new start as soon as possible. CAN YOU HELP? CAN YOU FOSTER? BreedDobermann

MEET DENNIS - THIS BOY IS A GORGEOUS HANDSOME LARGE CROSS BREED. HE IS OUR SPECIAL APPEAL.Dennis is a typical young dog (possible Doberman cross) who has had a tough start in life. He was rescued by a kind lady from a difficult situation after being left in an empty house. She sadly could not keep him due to having three other male dogs at home. Dennis is a typical lively energetic youngster that loves people and life itself. He needs lots of exercise, stimulation and is in heaven on his walks enjoying the outdoors. Baby Den has met lots of dogs on his walks and we are now embarking on training and guidance with gentle introductions. He needs some manners with the right introductions as all young dogs do as Dennis is over excitable on first meet. We ensure he continues to grow into a well rounded larger lad that is socialiable. His life experience started when he arrived in our care however he has continually been overlooked. Dennis never receives any glances, applications or offer of a glimmer of hop of a home. We have watched Dennis grow physically and mentally at kennels and he is now thirteen months old. Dennis now goes out walking for miles at the weekends with otehr dogs. He had a fantastic bromance with Frankie and now loves his adventures with Storm. There are now so many failed puppies in charities, including ours and we are overwhelmed. Society in general is failing these poor souls and even before the age of one so many are being abandoned, mistreated and neglected. Many find themselves at local stray kennels and struggle to find homes. Dennis has so much love to give and adores attention, playtimes and company. He has turned many corners in the four months he has been with you and we now urgently need to find him a very special large breed home. Training and guidance is a must have as this boy has energy. He also has so much love to give. We invite people to come and meet this handsome young man. He needs a dedicated human that can continue with his boundaries and socialising. CAN YOU HELP? CAN YOU OFFER SUPPORT?WHAT SORT OF HOME DOES DENNIS NEED?Dennis needs a loving home where he will be offered guidance and continued socialising as he grows. He is just a young dog with mountains of energy. He loves people and could possibly accept another female dog that is neutered and sociable. Regular visits would be welcome. Dennis is fit and active and will need someone that has get up and go and is able to walk him. Dennis needs stimulation of his brain as well as exercising his legs. This boy is adorable and will be very time consuming so this young man needs a home that will not be left as a lonely dog all day. He will need enrichment as he grows mentally. Someone that is active and works from home would be perfect and definitely someone that is outdoorsy. Dennis could live in a family with older adult children however we do not feel his size would be suitable for small kiddies. Dennis is affectionate with a wonderful nature and we love him dearly. We ensure he finds his happy ever after with someone that is dedicated to his training and has commitment for him all his life. If you feel you are the right home for Dennis then we welcome calls and applications. Please click on the ADOPT ME button at the bottom of the page to send us information about yourself. ISLA AND ROLO NEED A VERY LOVING HOME.This adorable duo came into our care as an emergency due to the sad death of their owner. After waiting five months in kennels we have struggled desperately to find them a new home. They are not doddery seniors. They walk so well on their leads and are a joy. Their lives were turned upside down and Rolo is thirteen years old and Isla Is eleven. They are comical and adorable and have recently gone into temporary foster due to Isla being unwell a few weeks ago. She has now recovered and her and her pal have settled in so well into their foster home with Greg and Louise in Barnsley. This is only temporary and a forever home is needed, Isla and Rolo have been no trouble. They are clean in the home and have been fantastic guests after Isla recovered from her upset tum. They are in heaven in the garden and they love their beds and cuddles in the home. They are so happy having a sofa space and the warmth of a home again. They often sit with their foster mum in her art studio in the garden and mooch in and out without issues. If you feel you can offer this duo a new start then we welcome calls to discuss. We would love to hear from you. We will support veterinary care in a forever foster home. Isla and Rolo have settled into a routine in foster and they are a joy. Local homes in Yorkshire are preferred.ISLA AND ROLO. WHAT HOMES DO THIS AMAZING DUO NEED?Isla and Rolo ideally need a loving home together without the pressures of other pets. We will not rehome with other dogs or cats. Isla can be temperamental with other dogs on walks. Although they are bonded we feel they are also each others comfort blankets too. They both need and deserve home comforts and a good routine with someone who has the time for love without pressures from other avenues. They love their garden in their foster home and have welcomed every visitor without any problem. They are so loving. A garden for mooching would be perfect and quick toilet breaks and of course they need a sofa space. We feel they have so much more love to give and they were so sad in kennels. They are so loved and happy in foster and the home comforts has truly brought them back to life. They crave love and humans. Our appeals have literally come to nothing. Kennels for Isla and Rolo were meant as a temporary measure and we were heartbroken that finding them a home was such a struggle Isla can be a temperamental soul if put under pressures with coats and harness's however is a sweetheart that adores people and cuddles. Rolo is perfectly well rounded in every way. Please consider our appeal for these two seniors who are now in foster in Barnsley. We help a huge amount of abandoned Staffies and cross breed bull breeds too left waiting at the Yorkshire stray kennels and in very difficult situations. We encourage adoption and invite anyone with misconceptions of Staffies to come and meet some very special dogs. We are very active and fly a flag high for the Bull breeds especially although we are not a breed specific rescue. Staffords and rescue dogs are loving and reliable dogs. They have so much to give and have a huge affinity with people.

This beautiful soul is Nellie. She has a fantastic nature and owns the best and biggest character. Nell has mountains of love and laughter to give to anyone. Nellie is a Bulldog of five years old and came into our care from a stray kennels that was closing down in October. Nellie is a sweetheart that craves love and really should not be left in kennels. The weather is cold and Nellie has two coats on and a heat lamp. We are so sad for all the homeless dogs. We are shocked we still have Nellie despite offering support for any ongoing vet bills for her skin flare ups. Nell adores cuddles and needs company, a sofa space and a special human. She has waited months to find a home and arrived in our care after the stray kennels closed on welfare grounds. Despite our efforts to find her a Bulldog loving home that just adore her breed she still remains in waiting. An adopter that understands their maintenance and character traits would be amazing. Nellie is comical and she bonds so quickly with the humans she knows. She adores a cuddle and can walk without breathing issues. She is happy on an adventure and being with people. Nellie is a good walker despite being a stubborn lady at times. Nellie is accepting of other dogs from our group walks however is not a super fan of having her personal space invaded so she will need to be an only dog in the home. She will tell a dog off however just adores people. She is no problem to walk where there are other dogs. Nellie will be happiest in a quieter adult home with a couple or an adult family home. We are astounded that Nellie is still with us. She is fun-loving, endearing and would make someone a fantastic loyal companion. She travels perfect in our van and now tries to climb in every time we pass the van in the carpark. This makes us so sad as Nellie wants to go home. Anyone that loves this breed will fall madly in love for sure. All enquiries for Nellie are from people that have other pets. We feel a home as the only pet is a just have so she can lavish all attention. See more details of her home requirements below. Someone please love this lady. PADDY IS A GORGEOUS BLACK GREYHOUND LOOKING FOR LOVE. VERY SWEET NATURED AND AFFECTIONATE.Meet Patrick. This Greyhound is an absolute sweetheart. He adores everyone and is a real gentleman. Paddy is clean in his kennels, walks like a dream and loves nothing more than kisses and cuddles from everyone. We cannot fault Paddy. This boy has a wonderful nature however his abandonment was so sad and heartbreaking. Paddy was dumped off the back of a van. Th van drove off and poor Paddy was left on a street. Luckily a delivery driver saw this handsome and sweet dog and called the local authorities. Poor Patrick was then left waiting at a council kennels. After serving his time he came into our charity care. This boy is special. He is five years old and has proved himself a great dog with all people and also other dogs. We could not rehome Patrick with small furries due to him being a Greyhound. Paddy adores a ball and play times in the run and is such a quiet and contented soul in general. He does try and climb into parked cars and is desperate to go home. Is that with you? HANDSOME PADDY IS A DREAM BOY.THE HOME PATRICK NEEDSPatrick needs a very loving home where he will receive plenty of affection and company. He will be no trouble at all. Paddy walks well on his lead and is an easier dog. Greyhounds often struggle to find homes as people feel they cannot accommodate their size. Paddy will need an enclosed garden with a higher fence. He adores to play so a garden would be amazing. We feel Paddy would enjoy a suntrap and some playtime on the grass. This boy is extremely loving and comical. He is a typical Greyhound that often likes a snooze after a sudden burst of energy. We love this handsome dog and are now searching to find him a sight hound loving home. Paddy has been great with other dogs on his walks however we prefer not to rehome with smaller fluffy dogs or cats.
