About Good Life Dog Rescue

Good Life Dog Rescue is a small UK charity dedicated to helping stray and abandoned dogs who often face an uncertain future. Founded by a passionate animal lover with over eight years of hands-on rescue experience, the charity is especially committed to supporting Staffies and Staffy crosses, who are too often overlooked. Entirely self-funded and run without paid staff, all donations and fundraising go directly toward kennel fees, walking, and vital veterinary care. While the rescue does not own kennels, dogs are safely boarded in Yorkshire until the right home is found. Through careful matching and responsible rehoming, the charity works hard to ensure every dog gets the fresh start they deserve.

WELCOME THE ADORABLE FIZZ. ONE BABY GIRL STAFFY CROSS LURCHER MIX.This beautiful young lady is now called Fizz. Fizz has come into our care from a Yorkshire stray kennels. She is adorable, very sweet natured and just a baby of approx eight months. Fizz has been health checked by our vets as a priority and started her vaccinations. She is now microchipped, treated for fleas and worms and just about ready to find the love of her life. Is that you? She has passed a full health check and adores being cuddled and fussed by everyone that crosses her path. Fizz is dog friendly, adores attention and could possibly live with a kind natured male dog that is neutered. She adores Dennis at the kennels. Fizz is amazing despite a cruel abandonment and a short stint in the stray kennels. She has already made incredible progress in our care and despite being very young she is calm and will lay down quietly after a fuss and her walk. She is extremely friendly, very very pretty and deserves a new start as soon as possible. Please read below to see what sort of home Fizz needs.WHAT HOME DOES FIZZ NEED? PLEASE SUPPORT.Fizz needs a dedicated and very loving home. She will need energy burn offs, an enclosed garden and someone who loves to go walking. She is extremely friendly and could possibly live with another dog that is very good natured. Fizz is possibly a mixed breed and a lurcher combination. We are now searching for a new home for Fizz where she will have plenty of company. Due to her young age we feel she needs extra time with humans during the day. Being left as lonely dogs is definitely not suitable for very young dogs and puppies. They need extra mental stimulation and energy burn offs. Company, guidance and extra training is all part of owning a young dog. We ensure she finds her perfect love match. Fizz would make a great family dog with older children as she is very affectionate and sweet in many ways. If you would love to meet this sweet girl and adore Lurchers then please complete an application by clicking on the button at the bottom of this page. Ourselves and Fizz would love to hear from you. Let's not leave this baby waiting in kennels. We thank people for their patience and kind words of support. Our charity exists with few people and our days are hectic with very little time for ourselves. We are work extremely late hours to maintain our small rescue and despite so many struggles over the years we remain here for the dogs that have no voice or little chance in life. We are now seeing an increase in stray dogs, cruelty and shocking abandonment. We remain here for the dogs that face an uncertain future. They all hold a huge place in our hearts. We are working hard to accommodate many neglected dogs. Support and kindness towards our organisation is greatly appreciated. Due to the sheer volume of stray dogs now needing help our charity often treads water to manage an overwhelming workload. Our main priority is for the daily exercise and welfare of the dogs in our care.Good Life dog Rescue is run on a passion for the welfare of stray dogs. Our efforts are made to raise funds to support stray dogs in need in Yorkshire. We are dedicated to the welfare of abandoned dogs and help many find the good life and a brighter future. Support is everything to us please adopt a rescue dog and consider the homeless dogs in Yorkshire. We help many homeless hounds and fly a flag high for the larger breeds who are often overlooked. BreedStaffordshire Bull Terrier

INTRODUCING ONE LUCKY YOUNG MAN NOW NAMED MORRIS. WELCOME ANOTHER SAD STAFFY CROSS.Morris came into our care on 24th December 2025 from a Yorkshire stray kennels. Through no fault of his own and a shocking sad fact in todays society this youngster was booked into to be put to sleep. Morris has not done anything wrong except be born into what some may say the wrong skin. This loving and very friendly dog is a Staffy cross. He is approximately ten months old and was abandoned and unwanted. He is adorable and loves cuddles and human contact. He is extremely playful, full of joy and has a spice for life as any pup would oen. We welcome him with open arms and a very big heart along with so many of our other dogs who sadly were all in the same dilemma. Morris has been health check by our vets and is now embarking on a new lease of life. He is learning to enjoy the outside world and we are working on his lead training. Although Morris barks initially at other dogs in excitement once introduced he has been amazing and his instant excitement is defused. He loves to play and has recently been out walking with Shellie who also found herself with an uncertain future at the stray kennels due to being another Staffy cross. Morris is beautiful, a real sweetheart baby and has so much to live for. Please read below to find our what sort of home our new delicious young man requires. We welcome support and adoption enquiries. All our dogs are loving and friendly and deserve to find true rescue adopters.WHAT HOME DOES BEAUTIFUL MORRIS NEED?Morris is now looking for a much need new start with someone that adores Staffies and cross breed Staffies. Experience of owning a dog would be beneficial. This boy will warm your heart and soul. Due to being a pup Morris will need more training and guidance as he grows. He adores people and is very puppy like so more training will be needed over the next few months. This handsome chap knows all his basic commands and we feel with the right committed human he will blossom even more. He has already shown he has love and loyalty to give and the ability to learn quickly. Morris could potentially live with a very good natured female spayed dog. We would consider rehoming him within a family home with older children only. A home where someone can offer company is essential. Very young dogs easily become bored so it is important that time is given to Morris and he knows he is not alone. If you work long hours and would leave Morris or any of our young dogs for long periods then this would not be suitable. Morris is gorgeous in every way. We are overjoyed that Morris found a lifeline at our charity on the eleventh hour. Morris is adorable and has everything to live for and so much to offer. His life could of ended on 24th December and we are blessed to have him in our care. Please consider the strays of Yorkshire. It is important we match our dogs with people lifestyles. We help a huge amount of stray dogs from Yorkshire pounds. Anyone wishing to discuss any dogs or needing more information about our charity and the work we do then please telephone for an informal chat or email us via our adopt button on this page with details about yourself and the dog you are enquiring about. Lifestyle details are important when considering adoption. All our rescue dogs have different needs. Good Life Dog Rescue exists without staff and few dedicated, passionate volunteers. Please support through adoption. We have a huge volume of dogs now in our care and welcome interest.PLEASE COMPLETE AN APPLICATION FORM WITH ESSENTIAL DETAILS ABOUT YOURSELF BY CLICKING ON THE ADOPT ME BUTTON. URGENT APPEAL FOR BENSON. ONE GORGEOUS LARGE BREED CROSS BREED. THE SWEETEST BOY.This adorable handsome cross breed is Benson. He is such a sweet boy with a big heart. Since her arrived two weeks ago (10th Feb 2026) poor Benson has not received many sideways glances. He is one affectionate boy and of the larger variety. Benson came to us from the stray kennels as an emergency when the block he was on became extremely full. Unfortunately nobody came to collect Benson so Benny came to us as an urgent request from the dog warden. This boy has a sweet and loving nature and is extremely happy to be cuddled by all people. Benson almost falls asleep in your arms. Benson has shown no issues with other dogs on his walks and has so much love to give. He adores playtimes and running however we have yet to capture him smiling on camera. His photos do not do justice to this stunning and beautiful boy. Benson goes out walking with other dogs and he has been no trouble. He is extremely clean in kennels and despite being a little sad at the moment he has coped with being homeless very well. This said we would love to find Benny a new start as soon as possible. CAN YOU HELP? PLEASE CONSIDER THE LARGER BOYS AND GIRLS.WHAT HOME DOES BENSON NEED?Benson loves his walks and being with people. Somewhere in this dogs life there has been care, TLC and love. What has happened? We will never know and sadly we always need to move forward to find these dogs a new life. Most of the dogs at Good Life are from local stray kennels and they remain our priority. We feel their pain and loss of their home and often a cruel abandonment. Benson would love a home with company and regular exercise. He desperately craves human contact and as always our aim is to find him just that. Benson has been great with other dogs however he is a large dog and many smaller pets will find him intimidating. Benson is now six years old and needs a new life with plenty of company. He deserves happiness and to find someone that just loves larger breed dogs. Benson is castrated and will be vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms. He is now more than ready to meet any potential adopters yet he hardly ever receives a sideways glance or the interest he deserves. WE AIM FOR THE STARS AT GOOD LIFE EVERY DAY. BIG DOGS NEED LOVE TOO AND ARE OFTEN THE LAST HOMELESS HOUNDS TO FIND THEIR SPECIAL PEOPLE. ARE YOU BENSON'S SPECIAL PEOPLE?We have many amazing dogs that have fallen on very sad times and found themselves homeless and unwanted at stray kennels and in terrible situations. All of them are deserving of a new start and a special home. Please consider our rescue dogs for adoption today. Many of them struggle terribly with isolation and a kennel environment and own a broken heart. We endeavour to fix their empty hearts and broken soul. Our adopters remain our lifeline. Please support adoption. Calls are welcome to discuss any of our ladies and gents.

Billie is such a kind and gentle dog that loves people. She is so sad, endearing and desperately needs to be out of kennels in a warm home with kind people. Sadly we do not know of Billie's past life however we ensure she finds the special humans that will love her. Billie is nine years old. She has been health checked by our vets as a priority. On arrival this sad soul was very underweight. She has been receiving extra meals in our care and is now looking so much better. Not only is Billie a sweetheart she is dog friendly. We feel she does not own a bad bone in her body and yet she carries a very heavy heart. Can you help this loving lady?WHAT HOME DOES BILLIE NEED?Billie needs a home as soon as possible. She adores people and craves company. We feel she needs time to settle and will benefit from a quieter home that is not too busy. Billie woud suit a family one with adult or older children or a couple that are retired and love animals. Billie walks like a dream, she enjoys cuddles and loves her comforts. Kennels as always are only meant as a temporary measure for all our rescue dogs. Nothing can ever compensate for a loving home and some TLC from dedicated animal adopters. If you can offer this sweet small Lurcher the love and luxury she deserves then please get in touch. Ourselves and Billie would love to hear from you.Our charity is not a large rehoming centre and we have many dogs to care for every day. Our vet bills and kennelling bills are very large and we do not own our own kennels. We have recently relocated our charity to Garforth, Leeds. Rehoming is a crucial part of keeping a charity afloat. If you have holidays planned or other commitments please only apply for our homeless dogs when your circumstances can provide a home. We would love to hear from any rescue flag flying people as we struggle with a huge amount of unwanted animals. Good Life Dog Rescue is dedicated to the under dogs in life however due to a huge increase in strays we are finding it difficult to help such a high volume of animals. MEET BOBBY BLUE. ONE LARGE HANDSOME STAFFY CROSS BREED NEEDS A HOMEBobby is one beautiful large bull breed that just loves to please. He is extremely sweet and loves nothing better than being cuddled. Bobby has a beautiful temperament and loves his walks and his human contact. He is a larger boy with a big heart and is so eager to please. Poor Bobby is not a fan of being in kennels and finds the whole caboodle a little overwhelming. Although he is a large dog he walks well on his lead. He is happiest enjoying the outdoors and lapping up company. He loves the stream on his rural adventure and is absolutely ball bonkers. He will play ball all day if you allow. Bob came to us from a local stray kennels recently and has so much love to give. Sadly large breed dogs of bull breed mix are often a struggle to place in rescues. Blue Bob can be bouncy and boisterous and would benefit with some guidance and training for jumping up. We feel Bobby would be best suited in an adult home where someone just loves Staffies and their personalities. We would not rehome Bob with young children due to his bouncy nature and a preferred home is an an only dog. This boy has so much more to give and we would love to see him out of kennels and in home comforts as soon as possible. Please read on for the sort home we feel our Bobster needs.WHAT SORT OF HOME DOES BOBBY NEED?Bobby needs a very loving home and with someone who is used to bull breeds. He loves people however is a large chap that can be boisterous and giddy. He will need a home that love to walk due to his energetic nature. Of curse this said a place next to you on the sofa would also make this large goofball very happy indeed. Finding Bobby the right love match is essential. He is not a lightweight and we feel a more experienced bull breed home would be perfect for him. Bobby can be found very often sulking in the front of his kennel. He isn't one to like his own company ad much prefers a human by his side. A home that will not leave bob as a lonely dog all day would be great. He is loving, very loyal and would make a brilliant dog for humans that love and understand his breed. Bob has been accepting of many dogs at the kennels however in life we cannot guarantee he will love ever dog he meets. After all we don't love every person we meet. If you feel this stunning chap may be the dog for you we welcome applications to discuss him. Please support the stray of Yorkshire. At the moment we have many dogs in our care that have been ill treated, abused and seriously neglected. We are working flat out and long hours to manage all admin as well as ensuring all our dogs are well cared for during the day. Their welfare every day is our priority. Our vet bills and kennelling bills are always large. We are a very small charity and exist with a huge passion for the welfare of stray dogs in this country. We appreciate all support. Good Life Dog Rescue has now relocated to kennels in Garforth. Visits by appointment are available seven days at week.

WELCOME COCO - GORGEOUS OLDER JACK RUSSELLThis beautiful Jack Russell is Coco. She is a sweet girl of approximately ten years old. We were asked to support Coco through a Yorkshire dog warden after her owner passed away. Coco has so much more to give and is a healthy and active little lady who lives for a tennis ball. Off lead in the paddock Coco comes into her own and will play and follow you around. She shows no issues with other calm dogs however we know she has always lived as an only dog. This lady is comical, loving and active and now looking for a very special home. Our new girl is sweet natured, adores people and loves to sit on your knee for a cuddle. Coco is partially deaf however is no doddery old lass. If you feel she may be the girl for you then please read on. Help us to find this senior girl a very loving home.WHAT HOME DOES COCO NEED?Coco needs a home with plenty of company and a human that will cherish her. She has clearly been loved in the past and her heart must be broken at finding herself in kennels. There was no other option and we struggle to find foster homes. She is extremely friendly and loves to perch on your knee. Coco would suit a retired couple or person that still love a walk. An enclosed garden is a must so she can play all day if she wishes without an escape route for extra adventures. Time is very precious for all older dogs and we would love to find this lady a new start as soon as possible. Coco will be fully health checked prior any adoption. Calls are always welcome to discuss her needs in more details. Please show some support for our senior ladies and gents. Kennels are no place for older ladies and gents and are always meant as a temporary measure for all our rescue dogs. Please note that Good Life is a self funded charity with many dogs to care for. We work hard to come back to people as soon as possible however daytime is spent walking and with our dogs and evenings are spent working through loads of admin. We exist with few people and time is very precious. We receive hundreds of applications and work hard to respond to people as soon as possible. We thank people for their patience. All funding goes back into supporting stray dogs from local council pounds and very large kennelling and vet bills. Support is always appreciated. Can you help us?Rescue dogs have often suffered difficult lives and some form of trauma or abandonment. We ask people to consider the huge commitment and lifestyle change of owning and adopting a dog. Rescue dogs often need time to settle back into a home. This can take at least four to five weeks for dogs to feel settled and more secure. If you are dedicated and understand that all rescue dogs need time to adjust then we would love to hear from you.We always have many rescue dogs in our care from the Yorkshire stray kennels and from very sad difficult circumstances. We are very active in helping strays and spend time meeting our dogs at the stray pounds. Please support adoption and fly a flag for the dogs in life that have little hope and no voice. These dogs are often sadly forgotten and a huge volume of abandoned Staffies and cross breed Staffies are left behind at local pounds. For any more details about the work we do please get in touch. Not all rescue dogs are damaged animals. They deserve a second chance to shine and a very special adopter to commit to giving them a chance in life. Support adoption today.

MAVIS AND MERTLE - NEED A HOME URGENTLY. PLEASE SUPPORT IF YOU CAN. CAN YOU FOSTER?Mavis and Mertle have sadly come back into our charity care due to the terminal illness of their owner. Mavis is now twelve years old and the smaller of the two ladies. Mertle is nine years old and has the least flattest face. They are mum and daughter duo and cannot be separated. They were adopted six years ago and have been loved very much. This is heartbreaking for these girls that have so much to give. Both Mavis and Mertle had previously been used for breeding over six years ago despite Mavis having a seriously flat face and breathing issues. Mertle is neutered however due to her breathing it was under vets recommendation that Mavis was not put under surgery. These sweet girls love people and are very sad and bewildered at the moment. They love to climb on your knee for a cuddle however it is apparent they are very down in the dumps at their change of life now. We are struggling to get them to eat in kennels due to their stress levels in being back at kennels. We are trying our best to offer as much human contact and time in the paddock as possible. We urgently need a foster home or a forever home as soon as possible. Both ladies are not huge fans of other dogs so a home and owner that are understanding of this is perfect.Mavis and Mertle need a home with a couple or person that just love this breed and have an understanding of their needs. They need a pet free home and we are unsure whether they have been around children. They love a walk however Mavis struggles with her breathing due to such a flat face. Her airways are restricted. We will support her medical condition however she is now twelve years old. They do not get along with other dogs so we feel they are best suited with a couple that can walk together or with someone that can manage two dogs together. They will not need an over active home however a garden to potter in is a must have. This mum and daughter duo are adorable and we urgently reach out to find them a home. Not only have they lost their people they are now struggling in kennels. PLEASE SUPPORT. Calls are welcome to discuss all our dogs and their needs after 12 o'clock every day. We are now based at Garforth, Leeds. Appointments are needed and application forms first and foremost. Please offer support if you can. This is so appreciated. All our dogs are fully health checked, vaccinated treated for fleas and worms. They are microchipped and neutered is part of our adoption procedure. We welcome calls of interest and to discuss or answer more questions you many have. If you are planning a holiday then we ask people to only apply for our dogs on your return. We cannot reserve dogs for long periods of time. We are a very hands on charity and help stray dogs left in Yorkshire pounds. Adoption is crucial in order to keep saving lives and keep our rescue going.

GORGEOUS PEGGY IS NOW LOOKING FOR A NEW HOME. THIS LADY ADORES PEOPLE BUT IS NOT A FAN OF OTHER DOGS.Peggy is a beautiful, sweet and very affectionate Cairn Terrier cross. She loves people and was adopted by our charity in 2020 to a couple. After the man of the house passed away eighteen months ago the female adopter now has a new partner who also owns a dog. Due to Peggy not getting along with other dogs this has now resulted in Peggy having to find a new home. Despite Peggy living in the home for over five years she has become the last on the list to be considered. Words have failed us and Peggy remains our priority so today (30th December) we have taken Peggy back into kennels. We are upset that Peggy's welfare has not been considered however are moving forward to find her a very loving home where someone will offer her the love, management and care she deserves. In 2020 Peggy came into our care from the stray kennels. She was one year old approximately and was unsocialised. She was adopted knowing that she was not a huge fan of other dogs. She has always loved people and is easily managed on her walks. We are yet again working hard to focus on more guidance and training techniques for Peggy. Cairn Terriers are amazing and very loving dogs. They need stronger ownership. This little lady is adorable and sadly she is now back in kennels and is bewildered and confused. Our hearts are heavy however we remain positive and reach our to find her a loving home with humans that are not detached from their pets. Peoples lives change however the commitment for rescue dogs is essential for their lifetime. This is a must have and needs careful consideration prior to adoption. They should never become surplus to a humans requirement and they should remain your focus and priority despite what changes in your life. There are now so many stray and abandoned dogs in Yorkshire. We are now working with her and she has already been walked around Wath Lake near kennels. We are working hard to correct her behaviour without having to add extra pressures for this bewildered lady at the moment. Peggy needs a home that love her breed and understand not all dogs are perfect. Peggy is clean in the home and has lived for over five years with the same people. She will need an enclosed garden, plenty of walks and mountains of company. This little dog is fully vaccinated and was spayed as part of our adoption procedure many years ago. Peggy has so much love to give and we are now desperately searching to find her the love and life she deserves. Please consider Peggy for adoption. Peggy is our only small dog at Good Life. WELCOME PIPPA (PIP) - VERY SMALL PATTERDALE CROSS JACK RUSSELL NEEDS A HOMEPippa is one adorable and very small dog. She came to us via a Yorkshire dog warden under very difficult circumstances. She is approximately eighteen months old and very comical. Sadly Pippa does not cope with kennels and we endeavour to find her a new start as soon as possible. Pippa is brilliant around calmer dogs and often goes on groups walks. She is super clean in kennels and will bark to be let out for a toilet break. She is extremely cute and loves to be cuddles and have all attention on her. We feel this little dog has definitely not had the best start to life. Our aim as always is to change this and find her a human love match. Pip would suit an active home that love regular walks, adventures and excursions. She is pocket sized, confident and very loving. Please read on to see what sort of home she would love.THE HOME BEAUTIFUL PIPPA NEEDSPip would love a home with loads of company. Being a lonely dog would not suit this little girl as she adore company, time and being with people. We feel a home with older children is best suited and not with small children. An early retired couple that love walking, the outdoors and spending time with a companion would suit Pip. She definitely needs an enclosed garden as she is teeny in very way. Pippa's quirky looks, wire hair and love of life combined are extremely endearing. We all love this large personality picked in a small body. Putting Pip in a kennel is not ideal and we have found she is not happy. She often has plenty to say for herself and just loves to be out and about. Pippa is what is known as a Patterjack and is house trained and very clean in her kennel. If you feel you can offer her a new start and the love and company she deserves then we welcome applications. Calls are also welcome to discuss ay of our dogs. We endeavour to find Pip a home as soon as possible. Please contact us at Good Life with information about yourself and the home you can offer any of our dogs. GORGEOUS QUEENIE. BEAUTIFUL LURCHER LADY. QUEENIE IS ADORABLE. PLEASE SUPPORT.This gorgeous girl is a real sweetheart and so loving. She is approximately four years old and was not microchipped. Without surprise she came into our care from a Yorkshire stray kennels. She adores a cuddle and being with people and is now loving her walks and company. Queenie has won all our hearts with her affectionate nature and fun-loving outlook on life. We took Queenie as a priority due to an infected salivary gland in her neck. After being seen by the vets and a course of antibiotics the gland has sadly become infected again. The only option is will be to have this removed. The lump is large and sadly we have postponed surgery many times simply because she needs home comforts to recover in. We know Queenie has so much love to give and deserves her life of love and luxury. Her operation can now only go ahead when we find her a foster or forever home to recover in. This lady is beautiful with a sweet nature who has also been amazing with other dogs. She shows no aggression at all and has so much to give. She loves to say hi to people at the Lake and is such a happy girl despite being homeless. Queenie needs her time to shine as soon as possible. Queenie has shown no issues with other dogs on her walks and shows herself to be a happy dog with a skip in her step. She particularly loves to sniff about at the Lake and poke her long nose into whatever is laying about for a good old nosey. Please read on to see what sort of home Queenie needs. Calls are also welcome to discuss. CAN YOU FOSTER QUEENIE? All veterinary support is given by our charity.THE HOME BEAUTIFUL QUEENIE NEEDSQueenie needs a home as soon as possible and we feel she will bloom in home comforts. She needs a place to recover from her surgery. She has so much affection and character to show and loves her walks and an outdoorsy sniff about. Queenie has come into our care as a stray so sadly we have no history on her past life. Despite this she adores a cuddle and company. She will need someone that can offer company and a patient human that will allow her the time to adjust to a new environment. This applies for all rescue dogs who have been abandoned and often mistreated. We know Queenie is one incredible girl. Queenie has shown no issues with other dogs at kennels or on her walks. A quiet home would be ideal in a less busy household so she can recover from this operation. All treatments for Queenie's salivary gland will be supported under our charity until completely better. This lady also has a small growth on the back of her leg. This will also be removed when Queenie has her salivary gland removed. Please support the less fortunate of dogs in our care. We work tirelessly to help the Yorkshire strays and pride ourselves in supporting many dogs that otherwise would have an uncertain future. CAN YOU HELP US AND QUEENIE? Calls re welcome.
