About Greyhound Rescue North East

Greyhound Rescue North East is a small, family-run charity based in the North East of England, dedicated to rescuing and rehoming greyhounds and other sighthounds. For over 20 years, the team has provided temporary care for stray, abandoned, and relinquished greyhounds, lurchers, salukis, whippets, and similar breeds before placing them into loving forever homes. Run entirely by volunteers and led day-to-day by the founder, the charity typically cares for 20–30 dogs at any one time. Registered since 2009 and governed by three trustees, the rescue has helped thousands of dogs begin a new chapter in life.

BreedGreyhound

Darlow is now looking for a permanent foster home. This means you welcome him into your heart and home just as you would your own dog — providing love, care, and companionship — while we continue to cover all vet bills. Darlow came to us with a broken leg, which has healed well. We don’t anticipate any ongoing medical treatment, but we don’t want his past injury to stand in the way of finding his forever person. He’s a wonderful boy to have around — friendly with people, gentle on the lead, and happiest when he’s part of everyday family life. Darlow truly deserves a home where he can continue to enjoy comfort, affection, and the warmth of belonging. If you can offer him a permanent foster placement, you’ll be gaining a loyal and loving friend.
