Feb 2026 - things are URGENT for Boomer because his owner is soon moving to council accommodation that won’t allow dogs.Boomer is a friendly 4 year old boy who we rehomed 2.5 years ago. Sadly, his dad now has a few health issues that mean he cannot give him the time and exercise that he needs, so we are looking for a NEW HOME for him. If you are interested in helping him after reading his details, please email us on gsprescueuk@gmail.com . If you’ve already sent a form in – please still let us know if you are interested in Boomer.Boomer is a lovely, excitable boy who loves human interaction. In his current home he has become VERY attached to his dad. He is rarely left alone and does not cope well; he barks if left, even for very short times, like in a car, and can cause some damage. Even if he is with other people, he will bark and not settle, constantly looking for dad.Due to his dad’s mobility issues he isn’t getting out running as much as he used to. He’s an energetic dog and needs a home with experience of training, and an owner who wants to do something like mantrailing, agility or canicross with him. He needs lots of stimulation and structured training, more than your average pet dog. He used to have OK recall and knew some commands, like ā€˜come’ and ā€˜close’ and had some whistle recall, but that is weaker now, possibly due to him not having as much input as he needs. He needs a home where he does not need to be left alone. Ideally a home with someone experienced in dealing with separation anxiety, who can help him improve with management and training, and to be more flexible. He needs a very secure garden – he will jump fences, and out of windows, if he is looking for his dad! He has attended doggy day care but he doesn’t settle well, so this isn’t necessarily helping him. He’s great with children but is very clumsy, knocking toddlers over, so older children would be OK. He’s also great with other dogs.A bit of his history- Boomer has already had two previous homes. In his first post-puppy home he was with a family with four children aged from 1 to 13 years old. With work and four children, those owners didn’t have time to work on any training with him, so he was rehomed within the family to his second home, at 7 months. His second owner then had to move home and lived in a busy house on a farm. Even though he was with four other dogs, he couldn’t be left at all. He escaped from the farm a few times, when left, so his owner made the sad decision to rehome him – he was around 18 months old. Living on that farm meant he saw cats and livestock lots. He was curious but didn’t chase (however his current owner says he now chases).Boomer is a healthy, active boy. He has a few bumps on his legs from being clumsy but none cause issues. He eats good quality kibble that helps settle his stomach. He is neutered. He currently sleeps on his dad’s bed. He travels OK in a car.Boomer is currently near Arundel/Chichester. If you think you could give this boy his forever home, where you can continue to work on his general training and separation anxiety, then please email us on gsprescueuk@gmail.com. Boomer will be rehomed with Agria 5 weeks insurance, under our Adoption Contract and GSP Rescue UK terms and conditions apply.

Buddy, a 5 years old male Pointer available for adoption from GSP Rescue UK in Wales

Buddy

Wales

Age5 years
BreedPointer

Buddy is a very handsome 5-year-old GSPxESS and a lovely smaller size at around 23kg. This affectionate boy is looking for a new home where he can enjoy plenty of companionship due to his separations anxiety and where he can continue to thrive. Buddy absolutely loves people and being part of the family. He is a friendly, gentle boy who enjoys nothing more than spending time with his humans. He currently lives with an 8-month-old baby and is calm and relaxed around her, happily sharing the sofa with his owners while she is nearby and accepting gentle strokes. He has also spent time with visiting children aged 5 and 3. While he can sometimes be a little cautious at first, he enjoys joining in when they play with toys or feeding games, and he is very happy around older children and visiting adults.Buddy enjoys his walks and exploring the outdoors. He walks nicely on a harness and lead and loves having the opportunity to run and explore. Due to his reactivity around other dogs, he is only let off lead when the park is clear of other dogs or when visiting private dog parks where he can enjoy the space safely. His recall is generally good, especially to ā€œBuddy comeā€ or a whistle, although like many gundog crosses he can occasionally be distracted by exciting wildlife such as squirrels or birds. Buddy can be reactive around other dogs, particularly unfamiliar or excitable male dogs. He tends to do best with calm dogs who respect his space and he is comfortable with dogs he already knows well – he regularly stays with a friend who has a male dog and does well there. However, he can feel uncomfortable if dogs rush up to him, and around three years ago he did attack a male dog while on a group walk with a dog walker. With careful management and the right introductions, Buddy can happily coexist with the right canine companions.Buddy’s owners have worked hard to support him with his separation anxiety using the Julie Naismith training approach alongside veterinary-prescribed Fluoxetine, and this helped him build up to being left for up to two hours. Since the arrival of their baby, they have not been able to continue the training as consistently and Buddy has taken a step back in his progress, which is why the difficult decision has been made to find Buddy a new home where he can continue progressing with the time and support he needs. Buddy can sometimes feel a little anxious when travelling in the car, although he also becomes very excited when he recognises familiar destinations.Buddy is currently based in the Leeds area and is looking for a loving new home where he can enjoy lots of company, patience and understanding. In return, he will offer plenty of affection, loyalty and companionship. Buddy will be rehomed with 5 weeks’ free Agria insurance and an Adoption Contract. GSP Rescue UK Terms and Conditions apply. Buzz, a 4 years old male Pointer available for adoption from GSP Rescue UK in Wales

Buzz

Wales
SexMale
Age4 years
BreedPointer

Buzz is a very handsome 27kg, 4 year old who’s owners have made the decision to find him a new home because he has been snappy with them both in the past and with a toddler around they don’t feel that they trust him. He has never been anything but wonderful with the little one, even when she’s trying to take something out of his mouth or play with him. With the teenager he’s also been great until this week when he growled at him for the first time, which was sad because Buzz normally adores him and follows him everywhere and they can often be found having a rough and tumble game together. There has been issues in the past where his owner has tried to get him off the bed and he snapped at her, she left the room and went back in and Buzz’s growled. Buzz then got off and went into the teenagers room and was perfectly polite and happy again. The next day Buzz stole a jumper of the baby’s and resourse guarded it. When he was fed up with it he dropped it and walked away. His owners say he’s always been a bit like this. He is good with visitors but does jump up on them when they arrive, he can also jump up on his owners and the 14 year old. Buzz loves going camping most weekends with the family and on hot days is happy going to air-conditioned shopping centres where he behaves perfectly. He’s also visited dog friendly cafes and restaurants and again behaved beautifully. He does love to cuddle and will most nights try and get on his owners knee and can be very affectionate and is protective of them. He loves playing ball games or flirt pole in the garden, he responds well to commands such as sit, lay, paw, spin, roll and wait. They also play find it where they get him to sit and wait then hide treats around the house or garden and tell him to find it and he’ll sniff them all out, he will also do this on a walk if they take a bag of treats and scatter them for him. When they moved house there was a large trampoline in the garden which Buzz instantly took to. They couldn’t get rid of it because Buzz liked to get on top of it and sunbathe and if they give him a bone he will take it on top of the trampoline to eat. They always refer to it as Buzz’s trampoline. He is brilliant with other dogs and has a dog walker who takes him out with multiple dogs, he plays with family members dog absolutely fine. The family had help from a behaviourist and were impressed at Buzz’s instant respect for the trainer. Buzz was amazing with him, but at home when they tried to copy those techniques Buzz didn’t show them the same level of respect. They also took him to puppy classes when he was much younger and he loved that. Buzz hasn’t lived with cats but is just curious when he sees them. Around livestock he is always on lead because his owners believe that he could chase. They usually use long line to his harness on walks because he doesn’t have a reliable recall. He also wears a figure of eight or a slip lead. He is a healthy, neutered boy from working bloodlines, he has had a fatty lump checked on his neck and it has been confirmed as nothing sinister by the vet. He can also be left on his bed in the kitchen for 4/5 hours after exercise and is a great traveller, when they go anywhere he settles down and sleeps or gazes out of the window. Buzz is currently in the Barnsley area and will be rehomed with his 5 weeks free Agria Insurance and his Adoption Contract. If you feel you can work with this lovely lad please contact us. Cookie

13/12/25 Lovely Cookie needs to move to a new home asap, even though we know that the timing isn’t perfect. Cookie now renamed Oscar is looking for a new home he has been in his new home for two months and in that time he has made lots of improvements and settled very well. In an area without too many scents his recall is now very good, he does range after scents in more exciting areas but does also know where you are to come back to. Oscar has bonded quickly with his male owner and does suffer with separation anxiety when he’s away from Oscar, which is understandable after such a short time. He’s a very gentle, loving boy who enjoys lots of fuss and sofa cuddles. Very sadly he is now looking for a new home because yesterday while out walking after a really lovely walk he nipped a delivery man that was bending down to lift a parcel back into the van. Luckily he didn’t break the skin or damage his high viz jacket but with this being so out of character with Oscar his owners say that they’ve lost confidence in him and would like us to move him as soon as possible. So we are ideally looking for a new home but would consider an experienced foster home for lovely Oscar who has also now been neutered. Oscar is currently in the Moreton-in -Marsh area. If you feel that you can help Oscar please contact us. October 2025 Cookie is a very handsome 6 year old male GSP who has been rescued from an unpleasant situation along with his great friend Magic who is 4 years believed to be a stunning GSPxLabrador The lady that rescued them has been assessing them in different environments but they will both need to find homes as a matter of urgency either together or separately with people around for company.Cookie is a very friendly, happy boy, he isn’t a fan of his crate when you are in the house and will whine for you to let him out for cuddles, but has been happy being crated overnight, he has good house manners and appears to be happy to be in multidog household. He has been walked through a small town which was busy with people, children and other dogs and all he was interested in was the pigeons. He was trying to be polite and well mannered but his excitement at these surroundings sometimes got the better of him and he could pull, but when corrected he responded well and learned quickly. He appears to have a good recall but this hasn’t been completely tested because of the length of time he’s been in rescue, so he’s currently on a long line which again he seems happy with. There are videos available of the both boys hopefully in the comments below. Today Cookie has met some children while out and about and even though it’s only been a very short time in this home his experienced handler has no concerns about him with his balanced and calm demeanour. He’s also met horses grazing on the mountain which didn’t phase him or cause him any upset or interest. Cookie was also very good at the vets which was very busy in the waiting area and he allowed the vet nurse to handle him and scan his chip all without any issues or concerns. His handler has already established in a very short space of time that he is a real character, a loving boy with a very mischievous personality, he is able to open doors, gates and cupboards all with a practiced ease and skill. He easily jumped a 5’ gate but he did return immediately when called back by the whistle, so a secure garden will be needed for this gorgeous lad. He is vaccinated from 16/09/25 with upto date flea and worm treatments, he isn’t yet neutered and that will be done by us as part of our Adoption Contract. He travels very well and has shown no issues being crated in a vehicle. Cookie is currently near Abergavenny and will be rehomed with his 5 weeks free Agria Insurance and his Adoption Contract. If you feel you can give this lovely lad the life he deserves please contact us. GSP Rescue UK Terms and Conditions apply.

Kolo, a 6 years old male Pointer available for adoption from GSP Rescue UK in Wales

GSP Rescue UK

Kolo

Wales
SexMale
Age6 years
BreedPointer

Kolo is a handsome 6 year old boy looking for an experienced, new home. His family are unfortunately wanting to rehome him due to his tendency to nip/bite, which has got worse in the last few months. With two young children in the house his owners feel this is now too risky. His owners’ views are that the nips/bites have been ā€˜warning’ bites - only one has broken the skin. There have been triggers for the reactions leading to bites such as the owner trying to stop him going upstairs, or trying to get a plastic wrapper or food from him. Another time was when grabbing his collar to take him for a walk (he has become anxious about local walks). There have also been a few occasions where his owners think he was protecting his house and family. A while ago, when mum was walking him, on lead, another dog approached and got in his space. Kolo ended up nipping the other dog’s ear so she tried to stop him and then got bitten in the crossfire. Kolo was taken to puppy classes as a youngster. His owners then engaged a trainer a few years ago and he had residential training, but they aren’t sure his methods were appropriate. Kolo is keen to learn and understands lots of commands (that can be shared). He would suit an active home where he’s given a ā€˜job’ to do, or where he does something like canicross or bikejoring. Kolo walks on a figure of 8 lead. He is trained to recall to the whistle. His recall is pretty good, though better once he’s used up some energy. He was bitten by a large dog from a house a few doors away a year or so ago and this may have contributed to his anxiety about local walks. Kolo is great with the young children. They cuddle him and he takes himself away if he’s had enough. He gets on best with similar breed dogs. He can be unpredictable with large dogs. He sometimes reacts to seeing a cat, but not always. He’s ok on a lead around livestock. Kolo sleeps in a crate and can be left for a for a few hours on his own (though not for as long as he used to manage). He’s fine being handled to dry his paws and shower. Kolo likes : Long countryside / forest / beach walks (not the sea); antlers / peanut butter Kongs; his bed time biscuit; sun bathing; attention / stroking (but probably not too much); watching the world go by; travelling in the car; treats (especially dairy products -milk / cheese / yoghurt); blankets (including humping them after his meal); toys / balls in the house / garden (though he will destroy them); beds / his 'home' (crate); rolling in horse / cow / fox poo. Koko Dislikes: local walks; Fireworks / bangs / noisy cars; bigger dogs (especially Belgian Malinois' / German Shepherds and especially when on lead); people he does not know coming to the house (though this can be managed by visitors following instructions). Kolo will steal items that are lying around the house (so only has access to certain rooms). He also counter surfs. He will whine and bark sometimes . Kolo is an active and healthy boy. He has well managed epilepsy (he takes 2 x Pexion tablets per day). However his owner is planning to take him to the vets to check he has no signs of pain, since his behaviours have got a little worse in the past few months. He may also need his ears checked. He is fed on a balanced raw diet.Kolo is currently in the Newcastle area. If you feel you have the time and experience to help this handsome boy feel a bit less anxious in life, please email us on gsprescueuk@gmail.com. We can support with epilepsy medication and initial behaviourist or trainer support. He will be rehomed under our GSP Rescue UK terms and conditions, and with five weeks free Agria insurance.

Pippa, a 7 years old female Pointer available for adoption from GSP Rescue UK in Wales

Pippa

Beautiful Pippa is 7 years of age and has been a family pet since she was a puppy. She is well loved and adored everywhere she goes. Unfortunately over the years she has escaped countless times despite the family’s best efforts to reinforce fencing etc. She recently escaped and destroyed a number of a neighbours pet chickens. Thankfully he has been very understanding, however this is something the owner cannot have happen again. The same property also has direct access (and usually an open gate) leading straight onto a very busy A road. The biggest fears for her owner is for her safety, and equally that she could or will cause a serious accident and injury to road users. Up until this very recent chicken incident Pippa hadn’t escaped for several months and her owner had hoped that it wouldn’t happen again but unfortunately it did and now she’s aware of the remaining chickens, she’s looking to get out again.Pippa is a very loving girl to everyone adults and children alike. She gets on well with other dogs on walks, she loves to snooze in the sunshine and loves to swim (however should always be supervised in deep water). On one occasion her owner spent 10 minutes searching frantically for her and had got into a panic that she'd gotten out.... then found that she'd popped the door open on the tumble dryer...had climbed in and was curled up fast asleep ontop of clean warm clothes! Pippa loves to be warm and hates the cold!!! She will happily exercise in cold/wet/weather, but then wants to be inside warm and dry. She will shake and shiver at the word winter!!!Pippa is a hunter and will destroy any game or small pets (cats included). Her owner is also very wary with her around livestock as she would at the very least give chase given the opportunity. If something tempts her outside of the garden she will do her upmost to escape. She is very excitable in a loving way, however this involves jumping up at people and or dogs.Pippa is perfectly content when occasionally left at home for 4 to 6 hours during the day as long as fed, toileted and exercised at some point be it before or after, this has always been with her great friend and housemate. She sleeps in her crate in the kitchen overnight and with their other dog in the utility room during the day, with access to the garden. She isn’t used to a dog walker however Pippa has happily gone out on walks with friends and family if her owner isn’t around. She can be strong on lead at the start of the walk but this eases as the walk goes on.Pippa can walk to heal, she will sit, she will stay, she will stop, she will give her paw on demand. Once out of ā€œhearing rangeā€ its hit and miss whether she will listen. She will not return if hunting an animal until she gives up. She likes to run far but will always return albeit on her terms her owner says.Pippa gets along well with all dogs generally. However she can be very excitable and can be overpowering for some smaller dogs. She loves children, however can jump with excitement and her size could knock a child over. She has happily lived for 71/2 years with children who were aged 4 and 2 years when she arrived as a puppy.Pippa is a fantastic traveller. No fuss, no barking, no stress she likes to be picked up and carried into a vehicle. She is a happy, healthy, neutered girl who is vaccinated until May 2026, she doesn’t have any current medical problems but she has had a torn cruciate which was operated on in 2024 resulting in 6 Months rest, crated for the first part, rehabilitation using water treadmill and swimming therapy followed for another 6 months, she recovered well.If you feel you have a safe, secure garden and would enjoy the company of this beautiful girl please contact us. Pippa is currently in the Colchester area and will be rehomed with her 5 weeks free Agria insurance and her Adoption Contract. GSP Rescue UK Terms and Conditions apply. Trevor, a 5 years old male Pointer available for adoption from GSP Rescue UK in Wales

GSP Rescue UK

Trevor

Wales
SexMale
Age5 years
BreedPointer

Handsome Trevor turns 5 years in November, his owners have made the decision to find him a new home because they explain that he has began to show more and more signs of aggression towards them. It started with food guarding as a puppy, where they managed this by not going near him while he was eating which worked very well and has progressed to the point where he recently showed aggression for attempting to have his slip lead removed. They have two young children, and with the unpredictable nature of his aggression they feel is too much of a risk around them. They say that generally, he is a very energetic, fun, healthy boy. Being a GSP he of course loves being outside and going on long walks. However, he does not like water. He won’t even step in a puddle. As a result of this, he does not like being bathed or even wiped down with a cloth or towel and will show aggression if you attempt it. He has been taught to dry his paws on a towel after his walk by circling and doing a little wipe which he does happily. He always comes back from his stays at the kennels bathed and we’re not quite sure how they manage it. He loves chewing, we constantly have a big antler or piece of coffee wood on the go for him, and he’ll happily lay on his bed and chew for a very long time. He is such a big character and very smart and loves practising commands and has all the basics down really solidly. He generally loves being around people and meeting new people. He will also sit at curbs before crossing the road if you stop with him. He is for the most part just a really happy and excitable dog. He is extremely goofy, and will usually chase his tale for a solid 10mins before settling down with us for the evening. He loves carrots and will do anything for one. Also he knows the specific sound of a carrot being peeled, and will sit and wait for the peel. His major dislike is being handled it seems. Grooming, cleaning, putting a ā€˜spot on’ flea killer on him etc… will all trigger aggression. What we’ve found helps in day to day situations, is keeping everything bouncy and fun, then it tends to distract him. At the vets they muzzle him, he visits for his annual vaccinations, he really enjoys seeing all the staff and having treats and a fuss made of him, but gets worried when a vet starts to check him over and handle him. He is not yet neutered and this would be done at a time to suit Trevor. He has full run of downstairs with constant access to the garden via a dog flap in the kitchen and he enjoys popping out to give his opinion when the local dogs are all having a good barking session. He hasn’t been walked by a dog walker but loves meeting new people while out on his walks. Meeting other dogs his owners say that they don’t understand which dogs he likes and which he doesn’t, at the kennels they have told his owners that they paired him up for walks/play with a dog of a similar size and energy level and he loved it. They think he likes dogs around his size and bigger and that match his energy. But again, showing his unpredictability when it comes to aggression, there is no way to be sure. Sometimes he just seems to randomly choose to not be nice. We keep him on lead or take him to a secure field for off lead time which he loves. Around cats he is curious and would definitely chase given the chance. They say that with livestock he could be the same, but they aren’t 100% sure. Around small children he is very tolerable of their two young children (2 and 4). He often wants to join in and run around with them. But this then almost always results in someone being knocked over or stood on etc… Due to his escalating displays of aggression though, we are reluctant to give any freedoms around the children now. With older children we think he would probably be fine if they understand the boundaries. We keep him on lead or take him to a secure field for off lead time. His Go/Permission release is a verbal double click. He loves being in the car and stares out of
