About Help 2 Rehome Scotland

Help2Rehome Scotland is a private registered rehoming organisation that supports pet owners across Scotland in finding new homes for their animals when they can no longer care for them. Without operating kennels or a central base, the organisation ensures pets remain either with their previous owners or in foster homes, believing animals thrive best in warm, home environments rather than kennels. A network of volunteers, including home checkers and transport drivers, works together to safely match pets with suitable new families. All prospective adopters undergo a home check before rehoming, helping ensure every animal transitions into a secure and loving forever home.

Astrid

Scotland
SexFemale
Age5 years
BreedBelgian Malinois

Available: Astrid Astrid is a 5 year old female German Shepherd x Belgian Malinois. She is available and looking for a new home. Astrid is chipped and spayed and also healthy with no medical issues. She would suit a home with someone who is active and can give her plenty of walks and attention. Astrid eats a mix of wet and dry food and can be left on her own. She travels well in the van with her dog walker but can be car sick. She sleeps in her owners room at night either on the bed or her own bed on the floor. Astrid likes to meet new people and gets excited. She would be fine around teenagers but not small children. Astrid doesn’t like cats. She is registered with the vets. She is fine on group walks but when she is with her owner she can be reactive to other dogs as she thinks she is protecting her owner. A home with no other animals is best for Astrid and her needs. She is use to spending time alone at home with background music left on for her. Astrid is excellent at letting you know when she needs the toilet. She is kept on a lead when out on walks as she can be reactive to other dogs but not all dogs. She is also use to a long lead and loves to play with her toy or a ball. Astrid sees playing with toys or a ball as a job and doesn't pay much attention to other dogs unless they come into her space.

Buzz

Scotland
SexFemale
Age7 years
BreedCrossbreed

Available: Buzz BUZZ is a 7 year old Mixed breed. His owners family have asked us for help to find Buzz a new home as sadly his owner is unwell and unable to care for him anymore. Buzz is chipped and neutered and also healthy. He does get seasonal allergies and takes a very low dose of allergy relief once or twice a year depending on the allergies. Buzz is scared of children. He is good with female dogs and unsure of male dogs. He wouldn't be suited to a home with any cats. He eats two trays of meat per day. He isn't a fussy eater and will eat anything which is put down to him including dry food. He would be okay to be left alone if he had another dog for company, other than that he prefers the company of his humans. Buzz sleeps on his own bed at night and can be shy and wary of new people to begin with but once he gets to know you he is fine. Buzz walks nicely on a lead but can be prone to pulling now and again. He is registered with the vets and loves treats. He would make a great companion pet for someone who is home all of the time.

SexFemale
Age3 years
BreedCollie

Available: EvaAvailable: TiggerAvailable: TiggerEva is a 3 year old female Collie x Whippet. She is available and would suit someone who can give her lots of time and attention. Eva would be best in a quiet area, she wouldn’t cope in a town or city. She is great with children and often goes to school to drop the kids off and meet everyone else. She is good with some dogs but can be fearful of others and show dominance. A home with no cats is best as she has a high prey drive and will chase a cat. Eva is chipped and spayed and healthy with no issues. Her anxiety would need to be worked on with someone who is understanding. Eva is fully house trained and happily sleeps in her crate at night. She is brilliant in the car and up to date with everything such as her vaccinations and flea/worm treatment. Eva loves treats and can perform commands such as sit, lie down and spin. Jake, a 6 years old male Collie available for adoption from Help2Rehome Scotland in Scotland

Help2Rehome Scotland

Jake

Scotland
SexMale
Age6 years
BreedCollie

Available: JakeAvailable: JakeAvailable: JakeJake is a 6 year old Bearded collie x Boarder Collie. Jake is a product of his environment. He lived in home with two elderly owners, and has grown up with both of them going through the various stages of dementia. Other than walk and feed Jake, both owners had no idea of how to train or look after a dog. As a result he has had a stressful life to date, and at times has suffered physical abuse as a method of control. This shows in his behaviour, (nervous, defensive and will attack if feels threatened). Training has been at a basic level, house trained and walking on the lead.Jake gets nervous of noise, phones ,hoovers etc. This will lead to excessive barking and with hoovers he will attack them. In the late evening he will start barking for no good reason. Probably this is related to his owners health condition as dementia sufferers symptoms get worse later in the day. That sums up Jake’s bad points.Outside Jake is a different dog. He no longer pulls on the lead when walking, takes a command to wait and is more comfortable with passing vehicles. Small fast cars are still a slight issue. He is no problem when he meets people outside and will lie down should a conversation take place. Most times he is fine meeting other dogs. The exception is if another dog gets aggressive. He will respond. He does not like cats! It should be noted that Jake is also ok with people coming into the house. He loves to run and fetch a ball. He will happily play outside all day if someone is throwing a ball. Currently this is done on a long rope lead as his play area is not fully enclosed.Jake requires a quiet home with owners who understand the breed, and can continue to improve his issues. He is not ready ( and may never be) for a house with young children. He needs his space to regain the trust that a raised voice or hand is not a threat.Over the past 6 weeks there has been an improvement in his behaviour. That said there is still a way to go before he becomes the dog he can and should be.Jake has a diet of dry food mixed with a small sachet of wet food. In addition to this he does get treats, which he enjoys, as a reward. From the limited experience with Jake he has been ok in the car. Jake has and has always had a large cage that he goes into if left alone. He also sleeps in it at night. He is fit and healthy. For anymore information please email info@help2rehome.com

Razzy, a 2 years old male Lakeland Terrier available for adoption from Help2Rehome Scotland in Scotland

Help2Rehome Scotland

Razzy

Scotland
SexMale
Age2 years
BreedLakeland Terrier

Available: Razzy Razzy is looking for a new home. He is a 2 year old Sharpei/Patterdale cross. He needs a new home due to emergency medical grounds of the owner. He has been in foster since 2025 with his rehoming on hold until all relevant paper work, chip were updated. Now this has been done, Razzy can be rehomed. He is reactive with dogs and had been badly mistreated, he would need a patient owner. He gets on with another dog he has been in foster with. Razzy is chipped and neutered and registered with the vets. He eats a mix of dry food with added protein and veg. Razzy can be unsure meeting new people but settles quickly with calm, steady introductions. He sleeps in the living room at night and can be left on his own for short periods of time. Razzy has not had any interactions with cats. He can be reactive to other dogs when he is on his lead. This however has been improving while he has been in foster care. Razzy can't be let off the lead unless he is muzzled. For Razzy's wellbeing he would likley be best as the only animal in the home. He is good travelling in the car and can be reactive when the door is opened - however this has been improving since he has been in foster care. Razzy loves swimming, toys and anything involving problem solving. He is very obedient and highly intelligent, and hyper focused on balls rather than food. He's not food motivated in the typical way. He's great with people and attends care homes now and again with no issues.
