Athena didn't have the best start to her life but she has come such a long way since her arrival at Holbrook. She has proven just how well she can bond with people after a little time and we see daily her fun, loyal and loving personality shine through. Athena is such a gentle soul that you can easily fall in love with but the thing that makes us smile the most is watching her have the ability to really run without a care in the world! Suitable Home:- A rural/farm type home with plenty of outdoor space that is also secure- Athena is good around horses so this type of home would really suit her- An Owner who has experience of nervous dogs- A confident companion dog of a similar age in the home- Her new Owner will need to be patient & understanding that Athena is still learning about the outside world- Plenty of walks off lead for Athena which will need to be somewhere secure initially- Her new Owner will need to be at home the majority of time - Athena has previously lived with cats - Children need to be over the age of 12 years oldAthena likes - affection in abundance once she gets to know you, running free amongst our field, being around the dogs at Holbrook (she never has a disagreement with any of them!), getting reassurance if it's a situation she is unsure of. Holbrook Animal Rescue

Charlie is a very sweet dog who didn't have the best start in life and as a result it takes him a little while to trust people. That being said he has proven just how well a relationship with Charlie can blossom and with those he trusts we see a very playful, fun and loyal side of him! Charlie loves coming on the daily group walk where he is off lead, doesn't stray too far and is enjoying this new lease of life. He really has grown in confidence thanks to the kennel free environment he lives in which enables him to watch and learn from the other dogs. Dave is a wonderful young man who has stolen the hearts of so many of us at Holbrook. He is absolutely loving being around the other dogs, and has plenty of energy to burn. He does show signs of separation anxiety which we are working on but does seem to gain confidence from the other dogs. Suitable Home:- A rural/country type home with outdoor space to run- An Owner at home the majority of the time to give him company- A friendly, playful companion dog or two of a similar age - he loves to play with dogs!- Plenty of walks and adventures daily- Any form of play of stimulation would be something that Dave enjoys- He has not been tested around cats- Children need to be over the age of 12Dave likes - playing with the other dogs, anything to do with water, the company of people, his walks, playing non stop with anyone and everyone! Hera is a lovely dog full of life and fun and she has quickly become a favourite amongst our volunteers at Holbrook as she is so loving towards people. She does sometimes find the mix of dogs at Holbrook overwhelming but she loves coming on the walk and is making the most of her new found freedom. Joey is a shy dog that really thrives in the company of another dog which is why we'd love to home him with Phoebe or a confident companion. He is nervous with people initially and finds it difficult to be left for any length of time so he'd like a patient Owner with time to give him. Like any whippet Joey loves a good run and his recall is established. Phoebe is a very well balanced dog that is friendly with people and loves the company of dogs. She is an intelligent and busy girl and for that reason requires plenty of exercise. She would really enjoy any form of mental stimulation and given her clever mind would pick this up easily. Suitable Home:- Phoebe would like an active home - She currently lives with Joey and ideally would like to be homed with him. Popi is a sweet and friendly little girl who is loving pottering around at Holbrook following the volunteers and dogs. She absolutely loves playing, especially with a ball, and is full of life! She shows no signs of separation anxiety and can be left for a short period. She will need ongoing house training which we are trying to put into practice. Tarn is a very loyal, intelligent and affectionate puppy who we cannot believe is still with us! He has the most gorgeous nature, manners to die for around food and is proving to be quite the role model for some of our younger more nervous dogs. Tarn has an abundance of energy and loves to play with his ball or other dogs, but he also is capable of knowing when to switch off. Tom arrived at Holbrook with his siblings Wanda and Hank, and he is the more nervous of the trio. Tom seeks comfort in the company of the other dogs but he is quite wary of people initially. Once bonded however Tom has been quite willing in letting some of our volunteers stroke him and even put a lead on him in preparation for practicing lead walking. He enjoys playing with his brother Hank and Tarn. Vixen is totally gentle and loving in the home but a little excitable and nervous on her walks.She is very loyal to people and her recall is good. She has no guarding issues and no separation anxiety. Wilson is a much loved family member and cared for to perfection. He has no behaviour problems; he just needs to be in the right place because he is far too excitable and boisterous to live with young children.
