Romney ? Could you be Amber's Forever Person? ?Amber is a young Saluki cross with a huge heart and an even bigger love for life. Currently fostered in Rainham, Kent, she is looking for a patient and dedicated family who can give her the stability and understanding she deserves.Still under a year old, Amber is energetic and playful and will need a large, secure garden where she can stretch her legs and enjoy playtime. She loves other dogs and would happily spend all day making new canine friends.Amber has faced more challenges than most dogs her age. Following hip surgery, she is recovering well and continues to make great progress with her rehabilitation. She can be nervous around unfamiliar people, children and places, and experiences separation anxiety, however she has already made fantastic progress, and with patience, kindness and consistency she continues to grow in confidence every day.Once you've earned her trust, Amber's affectionate nature shines through. She loves cuddles, enjoys relaxing on the sofa with her people, and is content to settle while someone works from home, as long as she receives regular attention and enrichment.Amber is looking for active adopters, preferably with experience of Salukis, who are home for much of the day and willing to continue her training, socialisation and rehabilitation journey.If you're ready to help a special young dog reach her full potential, Amber could be the perfect match. You'll need to be prepared to meet her a few times so you can get to know each other. In return, you'll gain a loyal, loving companion who simply needs the right person to help her flourish.

Romney Betty came into Last Chance through no fault of her own. Unfortunately Betty has age related issues with her back legs which can cause her difficulty at times. She needs a nice, quiet adult only home where she is the only pet in the property. She is unable to use stairs and will need a decent garden to run around in. Betty is obsessed with footballs and so it's a requirement (from Betty herself) that there must be plenty of footballs for her to tear apart.

Colour: TanLocation: New Romney This mum and daughter pair have been returned to Last Chance due to some toileting issues in the home, but were originally brought to us as their owner passed away. They are a bonded pair and would like to go to a home together. They have previously lived with children of various ages but cannot live with cats. Betty and Boo are really sweet girls and would like to go to a home where they can get lots of love and attention. They would like a home with a secure garden so they can play with their favourite toys.

Despite only being 5 he acts like an old boy refusing to go on walks and wanting to sit all day in the sun.Bill absolutely loves his long red dog toy and occasionally you will walk past his kennel and see him just holding it in his mouth showing it off to the world.As cute and friendly as Bill looks, he is not a cuddly dog and couldn’t think of anything worse than being a lap dog. He would much rather get comfy and snug on the bed on the floor. He loves his own space and feels safe having an area that is just for him. Bill would love a home with someone who is happy to have him plod about in their garden and occasionally come for some attention. When Bill does want a fuss, his all time favourite is a butt scratch. He goes mad for this and loses his mind when he gets this. He will even try scratch his back on cars, bushes etc.Bill would need an adult only home ideally with 1 person or a couple who can respect his space with absolutely no children visiting.Bill is not a fan of any other animals he will avoid them when out but is not keen on having them approach him. Buddy was originally here as a puppy. He went to a new home for a year where he was not walked regularly and barely taken out the house. Therefore Buddy did not get the socializing he needed and developed fear aggression to any new person who entered his and his owners house, seeing them as a threat. So Buddy needs a strict one to one home with someone who has no visitors. Once Buddy knows you he is very affectionate and will bark at you for attention to lie all over you or to try the food you are eating. Buddy loves his food and treats and as he is a very slow walker and sometimes refusing to walk at all he needs a strict diet to help him maintain a healthy weight. Buddy loves his toys and will often throw them around to himself in excitement. His favourite toy is a dog friendly stick, although we have tried to give him more exciting toys he always goes back to his stick. Buddy can not live with any other dogs, cats or small animals.

Colour: YellowLocation: New Romney Buddy Boy has come to Last Chance by no fault of his own. He is a very happy boy that loves everyone but unfortunately is reactive towards other dogs. Buddy Boy can be quite strong on lead and would benefit from some training and a strong owner who is willing to work with him through his issues. Buddy could possibly go to a home with older kids but must be the only pet in the property. If you think you could offer him a home please contact our New Romney Centre.

Buster is a typically stubborn bulldog. He loves nothing more his big comfy bed, getting under the covers and lots of treats. He can be reluctant to walk in an any adverse weather but likes a stroll at his own pace wherever he wants to go. Buster is a nosey dog and loves coming through our office to sniff new smells and helping to feed the office fish. He will often steal staffs leads and carry his bowl to his bed where Buster can become protective over this and any long-lasting treats. He loves a butt scratch and will roll in long grass for you to scratch his tummy and can be quite affectionate on his own terms. Buster is not short on character but will need an experienced owner. He must go to a male one to one home as Buster loves men. He does not like people coming in to his home so will need to be kept separate. Chester came into us from the pound, he was handed in due to his owners not being able to give him the life that he needs. He is a very bubbly boy who wags his whole body when he sees a possible new friend. He would love an owner in most of the time to give him all the love he deserves.

Romney Chico has come to Last Chance after struggling to adapt to the kids in the home. He is a very nervous boy to start with but with a bit of time and patience, he is incredibly sweet. Chico is dog reactive and cannot live with other dogs or cats. He was originally from another rescue where the owners were advised that he is anxious around men, but he has successfully lived with men before and can do so again for the right owner. Chico will need an adult only home where he won't be introduced to children (as he finds them to be a bit overwhelming) where he can go on lots of walks.

Cleo was sadly returned to us due to her owners no longer having the time to care for her. She is a lovely girl who enjoys a fuss though it must be on her terms. She is your typical husky who loves to be outside no matter what weather.

Colour: tan and whiteLocation: Edenbridge Cobi has had a troubled life. He originally came to us from the Welsh pound and was soon adopted by a couple who had him for three years. During this time, the man would force Cobi to do things that he did not want to do. He would force Cobi to wear a too-small harness and go out in heavy rain and thunderstorms. Cobi is scared of loud bangs, so this would have absolutely terrified poor Cobi. Because of this, Cobi started lashing out and became fear aggressive towards the couple, which ended up with him being returned for 'bad behaviour.' Cobi has had two homes since, and due to his original owner's behaviour, understandably, he now prefers a female owner.He will become attached to one person and will lash out at anyone else, so he is also better suited to a one-person home. Cobi loves to play fetch with tennis balls and will play for hours. He is very clever and is good at working out enrichment toys; he specifically loves liver treats and cut-up dog sausages put in a snuffle mat, where he can spend ages working out how to get every crumb out. He can be very affectionate on his own terms, but he will warn you when he has had enough. Due to having developed behavioural issues, Cobi has a bite history, so he will need an experienced and understanding owner.Cobi can be fearful of loud noises, specifically thunderstorms and fireworks. He will become very stressed, pant, and try to hide behind his bed and under blankets. He is best left with a loud radio to drown out the noise and to be left alone, as he becomes fearful and lashes out, probably remembering being forced to go out in them in his first home. Cobi, in the right home, would make a very loyal, loving pet. Please ask staff for more information about Cobi.
