About Leash of Life

Leash of Life has been rescuing and rehoming dogs since 2013, run entirely by dedicated volunteers driven by a love for dogs. The charity helps dogs from pounds and, where possible, also supports the rehoming of locally based UK dogs. A small team of mainly Wiltshire-based foster carers provides home environments for new arrivals, helping with house training, lead walking and basic manners while assessing each dog’s needs. This careful preparation ensures every dog is matched to the most suitable forever home and given the best possible start to a new life.

Albie

This lovely 5 year old boy is Albie. He was adopted through us a number of years ago but his family have had a baby and Albie isn’t coping. He has moved out to a relatives home but this is only a temporary solution and he needs to find a new home as soon as possible.Albie is a very sweet, loving boy who just needs an adult only home where someone is around a lot of the day (although is fine to be left for a few hours), a secure garden and places nearby where he can be walked without too many dogs in his face as he is a little lead reactive (this can improve with positive reinforcement and time).A really nice boy who is at that great age with lots of life left, energy enough for long walks but able to relax when at home.

URGENT NEW FOSTER/FOREVER HOME REQUIREDBilbo is a neutered 5 year old German Spitz who needs a dog-confident, adult only, calm, committed home/foster.Bilbo is dog and cat friendly. He has however not had an easy start in life and is very leary of being handled and can be an anxious boy.Where he is currently living is quite busy, with a lot of foot traffic and noise outside the home and a fair few visitors, meaning he is on high alert all the time. His carer has paid for a behaviourist package for the next 6 months which provides a plan and support to help him, which goes with him. He has also just started anti-anxiety medication. This boy desperately needs help before it is too late.

This dear little girl is now ready to look for her forever home. She was christened Princess in the pound but is now known as Buffy. She is a very loving little lady who is fully house trained, good on the lead, and loves playing with toys either by herself or interacting.Buffy will be best living as an only dog. She is wary of other dogs and her foster believes she is scared by them, and the same applies to her reaction to cats.Like most of the dogs we take from the pound we have no history but we believe her to be around 8.Super little companion dog with plenty of love to give.Currently living in Melksham.window.wpbCustomElement = 1;//# sourceURL=wp-i18n-js-after( function( domain, translations ) {localeData[""].domain = domain;} )( "contact-form-7", {"translation-revision-date":"2024-05-21 11:58:24+0000","generator":"GlotPress\/4.0.1","domain":"messages","locale_data":{"messages":{"":{"domain":"messages","plural-forms":"nplurals=2; plural=n != 1;","lang":"en_GB"},"Error:":["Error:"]}},"comment":{"reference":"includes\/js\/index.js"}} );//# sourceURL=contact-form-7-js-translations"root": "https:\/\/www.leashoflife.org\/wp-json\/","namespace": "contact-form-7\/v1"//# sourceURL=contact-form-7-js-before//# sourceURL=composer-plugins-js-js-extra/*! Another absolutely lovely dog looking for a new home.Elsa is an 11 year old Husky. She is calm, well mannered, loving, good with other dogs and walks beautifully on the lead. She absolutely stole my heart.Elsa’s first owner sadly died a year ago and her current owners circumstances have changed. She needs a home with a secure garden where someone is around a good part of the day and where she will have the daily walks she so loves. She has never lived with cats so needs a cat-free home. She has been good with children she has met on walks but would be best in an adult-only home or where resident children are 12+ and dog-respectful.An absolute dream girl.In Trowbridge, Wiltshire.

Lily

BreedDobermann

WE NEED YOUR HELP PLEASEWe have put on several FB posts for Lily and had very little response but we know the right home is out there for her ….we just have to find it.Lily is a 5 year old Dobi x who missed out on a lot of the socialisation she should have had as a younger dog but this girl still has so much to offer. Her current carer has put in a huge amount of time and effort into working with her and has achieved so much and will testify to the fact that Lily loves to cuddle up and share sofa space with her person.Whilst Lily is still not very confident outside of the home she loves ball play and in good weather loves water/hosepipe play and she has recently had a trip to a secure area which she loved.Lily has always been good at being left alone for a few hours.Lily needs an adult-only home as an only pet and if someone wants the company of a dog but doesn’t want to do lots of lead walking but has large garden which they spend a lot of time in then Lily is your girl. She’s currently in Swindon and we would would like her homed in the West Country but will keep open minded if a suitable offer comes in from elsewhere. Please please share this, we need to get her maximum coverage.

Peggy, a Unknown old female Dachshund X Chihuahua available for adoption from Leash of Life in Wiltshire

Leash of Life

Peggy

Wiltshire
SexFemale
AgeUnknown
BreedDachshund X Chihuahua

Peggy is a little crossbreed (possibly Daxie x Chi) who was found abandoned and has been with us in foster for a while. She urgently now needs a new home or foster home.Peggy needs time to get to know you but once she does she can be the sweetest little dog. She loves to be around you, can be left for a few hours home alone and enjoys the garden. If she feels threatened or in any way, however she turns into a little Tasmanian Devil.Peggy needs someone who understands dogs and that Peggy very likely had a not-so-nice start in life. Someone who will give her time and space, but who also has a little time and confidence to work with her. She is the only animal in the home at the moment, but could possibly live with another very chill dog. Cats are an unknown. She will need an adult only home and a secure garden

Scooby, a 2 years old male Belgian Shepherd X German Shepherd available for adoption from Leash of Life in Wiltshire

Leash of Life

Scooby

Wiltshire
SexMale
Age2 years
BreedBelgian Shepherd X German Shepherd

Scooby came to our rescue last June and not going to lie….he’s had a rocky road.Scooby is thought to be Belgium Shepherd possibly mixed with GSD. He is now around 2 yrs old and is neutered.Don’t be fooled by the goofball look as this boy is high energy and highly intelligent. If you understand him he may well be the best dog you’ve ever had the privilege of sharing your life with. If you don’t understand him he will be the proverbial pain in the butt, will become frustrated and will run rings around you.He is an absolute charmer and is loved by all that meet him, but sadly he is back in kennels. But on the plus side they love him and find him highly entertaining ( the video below shows him s of him with a member of kennel staff which was taken only a few hours after he had been there).Scooby now needs an active owner and one that understands the needs of these intelligent breeds…..he needs his forever home.We only so far know of Scooby as an only dog, but he hasn’t shown any aggression towards other dogs We will play safe and say no small furries, and no family member younger than a teenager.Currently just outside Swindon.

Zeus, a 4 years old male Shar Pei available for adoption from Leash of Life in Hampshire

Zeus

Hampshire
SexMale

BreedShar Pei

ZeusFOSTER OR FOREVER HOME REQUIREDZeus is a friendly, handsome 4 year old Sharpei who was handed in to us due to changes in his family’s circumstances. He has always lived as an only dog, so we feel a home as the only dog would be best for him.He has struggled losing his family, so anyone taking him on needs to not expect too much from him until he has settled. He needs a calm, adult-only home with a secure garden where someone is initially home all day as understandably he is a little insecure at the moment.Experience with the breed would be preferred.Currently in Southampton
