About Leash of Life

Leash of Life has been rescuing and rehoming dogs since 2013, run entirely by dedicated volunteers driven by a love for dogs. The charity helps dogs from pounds and, where possible, also supports the rehoming of locally based UK dogs. A small team of mainly Wiltshire-based foster carers provides home environments for new arrivals, helping with house training, lead walking and basic manners while assessing each dog’s needs. This careful preparation ensures every dog is matched to the most suitable forever home and given the best possible start to a new life.

Bella, a 10 years old female Unknown available for adoption from Leash of Life in Wiltshire

Bella

Wiltshire
SexFemale
Age10 years
BreedUnknown

Beautiful Bella sadly had to be returned to us a few months ago due to her person no longer being able to care for her due to dementia.Bella is the perfect age at 10 loving long walks but also able to chill at home.On return to us she was very obese but is steadily losing weight and has a new lease of life. She is generally friendly with other dogs but prefers not to share her home with them. She can be left for a few hours, travels well in a car and can live with cats with slow introductions. She walks well on a lead unless she sees something to chase then can pull.Bella is looking for a home with a secure garden where someone is home at least part of the day and who will be committed to continuing her weight loss journey. She has been fine with visiting children but has never lived with them so any resident children need to be dog respectful 12+Currently in Chippenham.

URGENT NEW FOSTER/FOREVER HOME REQUIREDBilbo is a neutered 5 year old German Spitz who needs a dog-confident, adult only, calm, committed home/foster.Bilbo is dog and cat friendly. He has however not had an easy start in life and is very leary of being handled and can be an anxious boy.Where he is currently living is quite busy, with a lot of foot traffic and noise outside the home and a fair few visitors, meaning he is on high alert all the time. His carer has paid for a behaviourist package for the next 6 months which provides a plan and support to help him, which goes with him. He has also just started anti-anxiety medication. This boy desperately needs help before it is too late.

This little girl is an absolute darlingBuffy has been in foster for much longer than we would have liked, but it has taken us so long to get her spayed as she has had so many phantom pregnancies and was found to be lactating each time she went for pre op check and so had to come back home again.Anyhow….she is now done and so ready to look for her forever home.Buffy is a super friendly little Staffie girl, easy to walk on lead, she’s a more mature lady at around 10 years old and still lively but not over the top.Currently in Melksham.

Foxy, a 8 years old female Unknown available for adoption from Leash of Life in Wiltshire

Leash of Life

Foxy

Wiltshire
SexFemale
Age8 years
BreedUnknown

Our beautiful Foxy lady is still waiting patiently for her forever home.Foxy came from Romania originally and we know that the importing rescue is no longer in place so Foxy found herself in the stray dog pound here in the UK with no rescue back up.She’s a big girl weighing in at 35 kgs, she’s 8 years old, spayed and brucellosis negative. Foxy is something of a Velcro dog….wherever you are she will want to be by your side and whilst she is ok with other dogs she favours human companionship. There is very little that we can say about her that is negative but it is best not to leave food within her reach and if she were to be considered to live alongside another dog a largish dog would be best as she doesn’t realise how big she is and is just too much for tiddlers.Super companion dog, travels well in the car and is currently residing in Swindon.

Honey

Wiltshire
SexFemale

BreedUnknown

Honey isn’t cute and fluffy but she has the biggest heart, the biggest smile and still has the ability to love people despite her past. She is a young girl, with a lot of energy to burn and her carer is unable to meet her needs.Honey urgently needs a new foster home, or potential forever home. She needs a little more training but so wants to please. She is currently living as an only dog but could possibly live with another of similar size and energy levels as she loves to play but is a bit full on.At the moment we cannot place her with children under 12, simply because we have no history on her as she was abandoned. She needs someone home all day and a secure garden.

Lilly, a 6 years old female Dobermann available for adoption from Leash of Life in Wiltshire

Leash of Life

Lilly

Wiltshire
SexFemale
Age6 years
BreedDobermann

Lilly’s kennel space is only secured until Friday and no other kennels have room. She needs a foster offer as at the moment we have no options at all for her.She has been so badly let down by people and has so much to give the right home.Lilly is a 6 yr old Doberman x. She is clean in the home, ball mad, loves water, can be left alone for a few hours and travels well in the car. Before coming to us her world was very small and she hadn’t been walked or left her home for 3 years so she does need an adult only, pet free home with a secure garden. We are prepared to continue to pay for all her costs while in foster. That includes food, vet bills and the use of secure fields so she can have a good run.We just want Lilly safe and loved with someone with compassion and common sense who is able to work with her more with her lead training.Lilly is running out of time.We need any applicants to be in the Wiltshire area or already be home checked by us due to the time restraints.

WE NEED YOUR HELP PLEASEWe have put on several FB posts for Lily and had very little response but we know the right home is out there for her ….we just have to find it.Lily is a 5 year old Dobi x who missed out on a lot of the socialisation she should have had as a younger dog but this girl still has so much to offer. Her current carer has put in a huge amount of time and effort into working with her and has achieved so much and will testify to the fact that Lily loves to cuddle up and share sofa space with her person.Whilst Lily is still not very confident outside of the home she loves ball play and in good weather loves water/hosepipe play and she has recently had a trip to a secure area which she loved.Lily has always been good at being left alone for a few hours.Lily needs an adult-only home as an only pet and if someone wants the company of a dog but doesn’t want to do lots of lead walking but has large garden which they spend a lot of time in then Lily is your girl. She’s currently in Swindon and we would would like her homed in the West Country but will keep open minded if a suitable offer comes in from elsewhere. Please please share this, we need to get her maximum coverage.

Peggy is a little crossbreed (possibly Daxie x Chi) who was found abandoned and has been with us in foster for a while. She urgently now needs a new home or foster home.Peggy needs time to get to know you but once she does she can be the sweetest little dog. She loves to be around you, can be left for a few hours home alone and enjoys the garden. If she feels threatened or in any way, however she turns into a little Tasmanian Devil.Peggy needs someone who understands dogs and that Peggy very likely had a not-so-nice start in life. Someone who will give her time and space, but who also has a little time and confidence to work with her. She is the only animal in the home at the moment, but could possibly live with another very chill dog. Cats are an unknown. She will need an adult only home and a secure garden
