Connie is a very sweet girl, she came to LIB from Romania with a very damaged & painful back leg, broken & left to calcify. It was irreparable and we made the decision to have the limb amputated. She is happier, lighter and moves beautifully without the leg.Connie is friendly but still a little nervous, she walks well on the lead, loves to see her human friends ( lib volunteers ) & gets super excited at meal times, she does a great dinner time dance.A lovely, sweet, waggy girl who needs a little more confidence and an adopter who has some experience with nervous dogs or at least understanding that settling in can take some time.If you think that you could be the right home for Connie please email libdogrescue@gmail.com and request an application form.Adoption donation, Homecheck and RBU apply. Dolly is a tiny owner surrender UK dog. She is a sweet, playful little girl but it’s very easily spooked.Dolly likes other dogs and is happy to meet them, she would benefit from a sweet and friendly companion dog.Dolly would need time to get to know her adopters & a gentle re-home.We think no children with Dolly & while it is much improved she did go to her fosterer with some separation anxiety so definitely not too much leave time in her early days.This little girl is very sweet & with continued patience & confidence building she will be a fun, playful, loving little dog.If you could give Dolly the time and love she deserves please do get in touch.Adoption donation, Homecheck and RBU apply. Gizmo is a UK chihuahua. He is sweet and loves a cuddle, he does not like the rain, can’t wait to get under the duvet at night, definitely thinks he is bigger than he actually is & is reluctant to get up in the morning. He has a moderate heart murmur but does not require medication or any special treatment at this time, he goes out walking every day.Gizmo does ok here but he would really love his own person again. Grace waited 7-8 years in a Romanian shelter. She is a steady quiet girl, as yet the lights are not fully on but everything is very new & she has spent most of her life in a place with little interaction or stimulation. She is a bit shell shocked to be here in such a different environment. While we know she was an adult on entering the shelter all that time ago, we don’t think she is as old as the age shown on her passport. She really does deserve some time in a nice home. Grace came from the same shelter as lib dogs Finn & Fortune who were both there for a similar duration & both boys are living their best lives now, we would really love to be able to do the same for Grace. Jessy ( we call her Jezabell, she likes to snuggle up large male dogs ) was extremely nervous in her shelter in Romania & for some time after arriving here. It took a while to lead train her & she initially hated to be touched. Now she walks beautifully, sits close to us and really enjoys a gentle fuss.Jessy is a very beautiful & dainty little dog, she is fast & is a possible flight risk, she does need a 6′ secure garden, an experienced, calm adopter & at least one other dog. Her adopter will need to be prepared to meet with us until Jessy relaxes around them. A gentle rehome transition would work best for our little fox dog.Jessy will be loyal and loving to her person, she is a sweet little girl and she really deserves a chance. Jimmy was originally a Romanian rescue but we took him from another UK rescue where he had been in kennels for several years. He had some issues, mostly fearful & reactive to new people.Jimmy did bring those issues here and our volunteers all worked very hard to befriend him. He now loves everybody but we still extend a little caution when introducing him to new people at home, although there have been no issues in recent months.Jimmy loves his walks especially in the woods and on the beach, he is very good offv lead and has good recall.This is a beautiful dog who has had a really difficult life, he is going grey but has plenty of energy and doesn’t seem in any way like an older dog.Everyone here at LIB loves Jimmy but we would really like him to have a home of his own, a happy ending to his story.Adoption donation, Homecheck and RBU apply. Joseph is a funny, lovely boy. He was in Maddie’s shelter in Romania for quite some time & it took him a while to adjust to his life here but he is beginning to really enjoy himself now.He loves free time at a secure field and recently we discovered that he loves to swim ! Layla is the most beautiful girl, sweet friendly & eager to please.Layla was a yard dog and had always lived outside, she had also had puppies, our vet thinks multiple times.She is a really good girl and has settled in here beautifully with no problems at all.Layla had not been walked in her previous life. It’s been a long process for Louis, we don’t know his story prior to being dumped in Romania’s Bals kill shelter with a crippled leg, but it would have been painful and traumatic. The leg was amputated before he travelled to the UK. Louis is a short legged dog, with a beautiful face. There is some GSD but also maybe some corgi mixed in there.Louis has lived in our home for well over 2 years and for most of that time wouldn’t allow any of us to touch him. Lead training him was a very slow process of confidence building which eventually led to Louis allowing us to touch him, which he now rather likes.Rehoming Louis will not be fast, Adopters will need to take the time to get to know him, gain his trust and give him confidence. Louis is well worth a little of your time, if you are the right person for him. He is predominantly an off lead dog, as with most three legged dogs he is more comfortable running a little / resting a little, rather than going at our consistent walking pace. He doesn’t require long walks but does bomb around while he is out.I don’t think he would do well as an only dog, dogs have been his only friends for most of his life, he is also absolutely fine with my cats.If you are patient, kind, have some experience with rescue dogs you could be the right person for our Louis.Adoption donation, Homecheck and RBU apply. Lowrie is just about in a place where he could be adopted. He came to us from Botosani public shelter, he was afraid and when his siblings were offered rescue places Lowrie wasn’t.I’m a sucker for a scared dog so he packed his bags and came to lib. He was scared, still is, in some situations & he isn’t an easy rehome BUT he is an absolutely beautiful, funny and affectionate dog. In the right hands Lowrie will continue to build confidence & he will be loving and loyal to his person.To adopt Lowrie, some experience with nervous dogs would be helpful & a companion dog would be good for Lowrie. Older, mindful children I think he would be okay but we would need to meet. Mali is a very beautiful young boy, Malinois x Cane Corso.Mali came to LIB after quite a long spell in a kennel based rescue where it was difficult to meet his needs.Paul was working with Mali but realistically could only get to him a couple of times a week.He is doing much better now with daily work & interactions in a home based rescue.He will need continued training, plenty of excersise and daily stimulation. An interest in training and working with your dog would be perfect, he isn’t a ‘snooze the day away’ kinda guy.Mali has shown no aggression towards us or any of the dogs here, he has been really friendly although his play can be a little pushy sometimes. He is young, energetic and learning every day.
