Honestly, we don’t think this girl has ever taken a bad photo in her life. Her PersonalityJewel is affectionate, playful, funny and deeply people-oriented. Meet Kenji Kenji is one of those dogs who instantly makes people smile. Big fluffy teddy-bear looks, a constantly happy expression, and a heart absolutely overflowing with love — he really is a very special boy. Despite everything life has thrown at him, Kenji has remained incredibly gentle, affectionate and full of joy. His resilience is honestly remarkable. His StoryKenji came to the UK in search of the happy life he deserved, but sadly things did not go to plan. After arriving from Bulgaria following a very long journey, the adoption fell apart almost immediately because the family involved had not fully agreed to bringing him home. Heartbreakingly, Kenji then spent over 12 hours wandering the streets of London after arriving in the middle of the night, exhausted, confused, and with nowhere to go, until we were alerted to the situation and immediately stepped in to collect him.And yet, despite everything — the exhausting journey, the uncertainty, the stress — Kenji was nothing but loving, sweet and trusting.Before arriving in the UK, Kenji had already endured an incredibly sad life, spending much of his time tied to an office chair in very poor conditions in Bulgaria before finally being rescued. (see picture)Quite simply, this boy now deserves the happiest ending imaginable. His PersonalityKenji is smiley, playful, affectionate and deeply people-oriented. He absolutely loves human company and will happily soak up all the fuss and affection you are willing to give him.He has a wonderfully soft and joyful nature about him and genuinely seems grateful for every bit of kindness he receives. Watching him relax, play, and simply enjoy being a dog feels incredibly special knowing how much he has overcome.He’s also absolutely hilarious at times — a giant fluffy baby trapped in a big teddy-bear body. If you enjoy affectionate, goofy dogs who want to be close to their people, Kenji will fit beautifully into your life.And yes… there will be fluff. Lots of it. Kenji has a beautiful double coat and will need regular brushing to keep him looking and feeling his best. If hair on the sofa horrifies you, Kenji may not be your boy. But if the idea of living with a giant cuddly teddy bear sounds perfect, he might just be your dream dog. Settling Into Home LifeKenji has adapted beautifully considering everything he has been through, but as with many rescue dogs, he may need a little support and consistency while settling into a new home routine. Meet Lola ️Lola is proof that sometimes the biggest personalities come in the smallest packages.This wonderful seven-year-old pug cross has a smile that melts hearts, a love of people that is almost unmatched, and enough character to brighten every day. Whether she's stretched out in the warmest patch of sunshine, proudly carrying a shoe around the house (without ever chewing it!), or following you from room to room, Lola is happiest simply being with her people.Sadly, Lola came into our care after her owner suffered a severe stroke and could no longer care for her. Through no fault of her own, her world changed overnight, but she's now ready to find the loving forever home she truly deserves. Her PersonalityIf there's one thing everyone says about Lola, it's this: she absolutely adores people.Children adore her, adults adore her and, perhaps most remarkably, she has helped both children and adults who were frightened of dogs learn to trust them again. Her foster family have even had complete strangers thank them because meeting Lola made their day.She forms strong bonds very quickly and simply loves being involved in family life. Like many Frenchies, she's a complete Velcro dog and will happily follow you from room to room before curling up beside you while you work, watch television or simply relax together.Lola is affectionate, playful, funny and wonderfully expressive. She loves basking in the sunshine, has an adorable habit of carrying shoes around without damaging them, and somehow manages to make ordinary days feel a little brighter. Growth & ConfidenceLola has coped with a great deal of change recently, so she's still finding her feet.At home, she likes to keep watch over her surroundings and can be quite vocal if she spots birds, neighbours or anything interesting happening outside. It's simply part of her inquisitive little personality.She's also a very clever girl who wants to learn. With kindness, patience and consistency, she continues to grow in confidence and has shown us just how capable she is of adapting when given the right support. With Other Dogs & PetsWhile Lola absolutely loves people, she currently finds other animals much more challenging.She can react quite strongly towards other dogs, cats and small animals, and this is something we've been working on extensively using kind, positive reinforcement training. The progress she has made has been genuinely impressive.Recently, Lola spent time back at our kennels and even enjoyed a walk alongside three of our rescue dogs — something that would have been much more difficult for her not so long ago. Moments like these show just how far she has already come.That said, her future family must understand that this journey will continue. Lola won't be the sort of dog who can immediately head to a busy park and happily greet every dog she meets. She will need adopters who are committed to continuing the training we've started and who understand that building confidence takes time.We're looking for a family who will see this as part of the adventure rather than a problem to fix. Meet Nellie Nellie has found herself homeless for the third time in her short life — and heartbreakingly, none of it has ever been her fault. Passed from place to place without the stability every dog deserves, we would now love nothing more than for Nellie to finally find the forever home where she can truly settle and be cherished.She is a beautiful medium-sized girl with a playful spirit, a loving heart, and so much affection to give. Meet Peggy Peggy is one of those dogs who quietly steals hearts without even trying. With her soft scruffy coat, elegant little face and wonderfully expressive ears, she has a look that is completely unforgettable — somewhere between a storybook character, a vintage teddy bear, and perhaps, if you ask us, just a tiny hint of goat. Originally arriving in the UK from Spain, Peggy’s story has certainly been memorable. Shortly after arriving, she managed to escape and became a little local celebrity while on the run around Bracknell. During her adventures, she happily accepted snacks, joined neighbourhood dogs on walks, and charmed everyone she met from a safe distance. Eventually, she was safely trapped by the lost dog team, and since then she has come on enormously in confidence. Her PersonalityPeggy is an incredibly gentle, funny and astute dog with a lovely quiet humour about her. There is absolutely not a bad bone in her body. In fact, Peggy is often our “go-to” dog when visitors come to walk rescue dogs because she is so beautifully behaved out and about. She walks wonderfully on the lead and is a really lovely companion to spend time with.She also seems completely aware whenever a camera appears. The second Peggy notices she’s being photographed, out comes the expression, the pose, and the little smile. She honestly looks like one of those vintage teddy bears with perfect glass bead eyes — soulful, delicate and impossibly endearing.There is something almost storybook-like about her. Peggy has the energy of a gentle Jane Austen heroine — deeply lovable, quietly special, and full of a soft, authentic sweetness that slowly wins people over.One moment Peggy seems completely lost in her own little thoughts, quietly watching the world go by, and the next she is happily photobombing with one of her wonderfully funny expressions. That balance of gentle sensitivity and unexpected humour is a huge part of what makes her so special.She may initially take a little time to fully relax around new people, but she has already come such a long way from the nervous girl she once was. We genuinely believe that once Peggy fully settles into a home and routine of her own, she is going to become an incredibly affectionate and deeply bonded companion. Sadly, Pixel found himself on the receiving end of a difficult dynamic, and the dogs ultimately needed to be kept separate. Since arriving with us, however, Pixel has been a lovely little boy to have around and has settled in beautifully.He is now looking for a home that will truly embrace him as part of the family and continue helping him grow into the wonderful little companion we know he is going to become. His PersonalityPixel is full of life, enthusiasm and cheeky little charm. He is affectionate, playful and incredibly engaging to be around, with the kind of personality that keeps you smiling throughout the day.As a young dog, he still has lots of puppy-like energy and curiosity about the world. The squeakier the better, in his opinion. He can happily entertain himself or bring his toys over to share the fun with you.________________________________________ His PersonalityScrabble is a sensitive, intelligent and affectionate dog who really thrives on connection with his people.He is very food motivated and quick to understand, which makes him a great dog to train. With consistency, calm handling and continued support, we expect him to continue developing really well.At home, he may take a little time to feel comfortable with new people, but with the right introductions and reassurance, he settles and builds confidence nicely.________________________________________ With Other DogsScrabble is very comfortable around other dogs and genuinely enjoys their company. He mixes well both on and off lead and is relaxed in social settings.He has a lovely friendship with Frankie at the rescue, and we do feel he would really benefit from having another dog in the home. He would make a particularly great canine companion.________________________________________ His Ideal HomeScrabble would suit a calm, stable home where he can continue to build confidence and feel secure.He doesn’t need extreme exercise — just normal daily walks, interaction, and the chance to be part of life with his people. He was rescued alongside his sister Riga after being found in a terrible state, suffering from severe mange.They were taken in by a wonderful English woman travelling in the area, who nursed them back to health and gave them the care, stability, and early experiences they needed to grow into the dogs they are today.She has since entrusted them to us to find them the very best homes, as she is unable to keep them herself.________________________________________ A Bright & Willing LearnerTrimi is an incredibly clever and responsive young dog who genuinely wants to learn and engage. Meet Ziggy Ziggy is a cheeky, fun loving, bouncy boy who keeps us smiling every single day. Once he knows his humans are safe, he absolutely adores them. There is nothing he loves more than a big fuss from his favourite people, usually followed by an impressive case of the zoomies!Life hasn’t always been easy for Ziggy and, because of that, he is still learning how to feel confident being himself in the world. He is looking for a very patient and understanding family who can give him the time and space he needs to truly feel safe and secure. Ziggy will need multiple visits to build that trust, and our team will drive him to his new home to help him understand that this new space is somewhere positive and safe to explore.Ziggy is currently working on his harness training and he has been doing incredibly well wearing it. We are so proud of the progress he’s making, and the next big step will be gently introducing him to exploring life outside of the kennels.Although he can still be a little unsure at times, Ziggy does not let that dim his huge zest for life here at the rescue. He is such a playful, game loving boy who bounces around with so much joy. He has been great with other dogs with us and could potentially live with the right canine companion. His favourite friend so far is a staff member’s French Bulldog, who always has him zooming around in no time!If you have patience, love and understanding, along with a very good sense of humour to match his cheeky personality, Ziggy could be the perfect addition to your family.
