About Love Underdogs

Love Underdogs was founded by animal lovers determined to help some of the most unwanted, abused, and voiceless dogs. The charity began after witnessing the harsh realities faced by dogs in Romanian shelters, leading to a long-term commitment to rescuing and rehoming dogs from the Victory Shelter in Brașov in partnership with trusted Romanian organisations. Alongside rehoming dogs to loving homes in the UK, Love Underdogs supports wider change through neutering campaigns, education programmes, and ongoing improvements to local pound conditions. Working collaboratively with international partners, the charity has helped transform a once-notorious kill shelter into a place where dogs are cared for and healthy animals are no longer euthanised. While giving individual dogs a second chance, Love Underdogs’ long-term vision is a future where Romanian dogs can be safely cared for and adopted within their own country.

Say hello to Aladdin, a goofy, bouncy boy with a heart full of joy and a smile that rarely leaves his face.Aladdin has come such a long way during his time with us and has truly blossomed into a confident, happy lad. While he can be a little thoughtful when meeting new people, he builds bonds nicely and is now very comfortable getting his harness on and heading out for adventures. In fact, he walks beautifully and takes the world in his stride, enjoying his outings with a relaxed and cheerful attitude.Aladdin would love a calm and understanding home that will continue to support him as he settles in. He will need a few visits prior to adoption to make sure he feels comfortable, particularly with his new family putting on his harness, but he no longer needs extensive bonding time. Once he knows you, he is a gentle, affectionate and loyal companion. He is happiest when he is playing with his toys, showing off his playful side, or relaxing in his bed with his legs crossed, watching the world go by. His sweet nature and signature grin brighten every room he walks into.Aladdin has been great with the female dogs here and enjoys their company. He can find very boisterous male dogs a little overwhelming at times, so calm introductions suit him best. He does have a tendency to chase cats, so he is looking for a home without cats or other small animals.Aladdin is also available for adoption with his best friend Peggy if you have space in your home for two wonderful companions. If you are looking for a cheerful, loving dog who is ready to enjoy life by your side, Aladdin could be your perfect match.

*** has interest ***Anita is a bundle of fun who keeps everyone here at the rescue smiling and laughing every single day. She’s got that perfect mix of cheeky charm and pure heart that makes her impossible not to love!On her walks, Anita struts proudly by your side, taking the world in her stride. She’s an absolute delight on the lead and loves any adventure you’re up for. What Anita loves even more, though, is people; she’s a true social butterfly who’ll happily say hello to everyone she meets, especially if there’s the promise of a cuddle (or a treat!) involved. When it comes to other dogs, Anita can find them a little intimidating at times, but she’s made amazing progress during her time with us. She’s now friends with some of our biggest dogs and has even taken on the role of “bodyguard” to our shy residents, patiently waiting for them on walks and making sure they feel safe. Because of this progress, Anita could potentially live with a larger dog if it’s the right match for her and introductions are done carefully.Anita does have epilepsy, which is well managed with a small tablet. We’ll be more than happy to chat with her future family about what to look out for and how best to support her, but rest assured, this doesn’t hold her back one bit. She’s as happy-go-lucky as ever and lives life to the fullest every day.Anita has truly stolen our hearts, and we can’t believe she hasn’t found her forever home yet. She’s ready to fill someone’s life with laughter, cuddles, and endless love.Anita is looking for a home where her new humans are home a lot to help her feel safe and settled after the big changes in her life recently.

Lola

Essex
SexFemale
Age7 years
BreedPug X French Bulldog

Meet Lola our beautiful Pug x Frenchie girl - URGENT FOSTER OR FOSTER WITH VIEW TO ADOPT NEEDED! (Local to North London/ Essex for foster) Lola is an utterly adorable little character with a huge heart and so much love to give. Through no fault of her own, she has found herself needing a new home after her beloved owner sadly suffered a severe stroke and could no longer care for her.She has clearly been loved, and despite everything changing around her, Lola has remained full of affection, charm and that wonderful little spark that makes her impossible not to adore. Her PersonalityLola is a true people dog. She loves company, loves affection, and is happiest when she is close to her humans. If there is a lap available, a sofa to share, or someone offering cuddles, Lola will be there in a flash. She is playful, goofy, bouncy and full of character. She has the kind of funny little presence that makes people smile without even trying. Whether she is trotting beside you on a walk, enjoying a fuss, or snuggling up for a cosy nap, Lola simply wants to be part of your world. She also enjoys being pampered and is very happy with baths, brushing and all the little bits of attention that come with being a much-loved girl. What Lola Needs Right NowKennel life has been a big adjustment for Lola after living as a cherished pet in a home. What she really needs now is a warm, calm and loving environment where she can feel safe and settled again.Lola can struggle if left for long periods, so she would be happiest in a home where someone is around most of the time, especially while she adjusts to this new chapter. She is currently overweight, and we are already helping her slim down. Continuing her gentle weight-loss journey will make a big difference to her comfort, wellbeing and overall quality of life.Lola is due for a veterinary assessment on 30th April and may go on to have BOAS surgery to help improve her breathing — a procedure commonly carried out for short-nosed breeds like Lola. We have supported many dogs through this surgery and the outcomes have been very positive. If Lola does go ahead with treatment, we would much prefer her recovery to take place in the comfort of a loving home rather than in kennels. With Other DogsLola can get on ok with other dogs, although she can be a little bossy at times. We feel she would be happiest and most relaxed as the only dog in the home, where she can enjoy all the love and attention to herself. Her Ideal HomeLola would thrive in a home where she can return to the comforts she has always known — love, companionship and a cosy place to rest. Her ideal home would be:• Calm, loving and settled• With people around most of the time• ️ Full of cuddles, comfort and companionship• ‍️ Happy to continue her gentle fitness journey and active as she loves a good walk• As the only dog in the homeWe would be delighted to hear from people interested in either a foster home or a forever home. She has lost the home she knew, but she has not lost her warmth, her joy, or her ability to make people smile. She deserves a soft place to land, a person to adore, and a home where she can feel safe and cherished again. In return, Lola will give endless affection, loyal companionship and a daily dose of comedy in one very cute little package.https://www.facebook.com/reel/855579844224469If you think you could offer Lola a loving foster home or forever home, we would love to hear from you - email info@loveunderdogs.org or fill in an enquiry form thank you! Moose

Essex
SexMale
Age6 months
BreedUnknown

Meet MooseMoose is still very much a baby — all long legs, floppy movement and a slightly chaotic sense of how his body works — and it’s exactly what makes him so endearing. He’s the kind of puppy who is still figuring things out, occasionally a bit all over the place, but full of curiosity, character and charm. Add in his brilliant smile (which you’ll spot straight away), and you’ve got a dog who is impossible not to warm to.Rescued from Eastern Europe alongside his siblings after a poisoning incident, Moose has had a tough start — yet he’s come through it with resilience, curiosity, and a sharp, intelligent mind. A Brilliant Young MindMoose is an exceptionally intelligent, switched-on puppy, but he’s not just brains — he’s also playful, eager, and full of personality. He’s the kind of dog who wants to learn, wants to engage, and really wants to please his people. He watches, he tries, and he’s already showing just how much potential he has.At the same time, he’s still very much a young dog — a bit goofy, a bit clumsy, and very much in that lovely stage where everything is new and exciting. He won’t thrive as a “background pet” — Moose needs:* Daily mental stimulation* Ongoing training and engagement* A human who genuinely enjoys working with a clever, developing dogIn the right hands, he has everything it takes to grow into an exceptional companion. His Ideal LifeMoose didn’t grow up in a quiet suburban setting — he’s used to space, nature, and freedom, and this is something we would love to continue for him.His ideal home would be: Outdoorsy and adventurous With access to green space (not city-centre living) A family who enjoys taking their dog out and about — Moose travels brilliantly in the car‍️ A lifestyle that includes walks, exploration, and shared experiencesHe’s a dog who will want to be fully part of your life, not just fit around it. The Right OwnerMoose needs someone who truly understands dogs — this is non-negotiable.We are looking for:️ Experienced dog owners️ People who are proactive, consistent, and engaged️ Someone who enjoys training and shaping a young dogThis is not a “first dog” or a “pet on the side” situation. Moose is at a formative stage and needs someone who will invest in him properly. Children & Other Considerations No children — Moose can show some guarding around toys, so we will not place him in a home with children. Other dogs — as above, a playful larger companion would be ideal. SizeWe expect Moose to grow into a medium to large-sized dog, though his exact size is still to be confirmed. Why Moose?Moose is that wonderful mix of clever, goofy and full of promise. He’s still figuring out the world — and himself — which makes him incredibly fun to be around, but also means he needs the right guidance. With the right person, he will grow into a dog who is not only intelligent and capable, but also deeply connected, affectionate and full of character — the kind of dog who becomes a real part of your life.If you think you can offer Moose the adventure-filled, engaging and loving home he needs, please fill in an enquiry form — we would love to hear from you ️Note: Moose has a negative brucellosis blood test. Most UK vets will require a follow-up test 3 months after arrival, which we will cover.
