About Mrs Murray's

Mrs Murray’s Home for Stray Dogs and Cats was founded in 1889 by Susan Murray as a place of refuge for stray and abandoned dogs and cats in Aberdeen and the surrounding area. What began as a small, community-supported shelter has grown into a long-established rescue caring for around 600 animals each year. Alongside dogs and cats, the charity now supports a range of small animals whose owners can no longer care for them, and also provides animal boarding services. As the only organisation of its kind in north-east Scotland, Mrs Murray’s relies almost entirely on public donations, legacies, and local support to continue its vital work and secure a safe future for animals in need.

Hunter, a 2 years old male Lurcher available for adoption from Mrs Murray's in Scotland

Mrs Murray's

Hunter

Scotland
SexMale
Age2 years
BreedLurcher

Hunter is an affectionate lad who loves to snooze. He is a real sofa surfer and loves to be found belly up. Hunter struggles with new doggy friends and becomes reactive when he sees them on his walks so he would love a more rural setting where he could really learn to relax and enjoy life. He loves his toys especially his stuffed teddies. Sadly Hunter has been here with us for 17 months looking for his new home.Hunter arrived at the centre through no fault of his own. Sadly his families life was changing and Hunter was no longer getting the attention he needed.Hunter has a full clean bill of health but with him getting a little more senior Shh don't tell him that :) we have added in a daily joint supplement to his meals.Behaviour & SocialisingSleeping ArrangementsHunter is a lazy lump and very much likes his home comforts! He loves to be snuggled under a blanket close to you like a hot water bottle :)Ideal Home for HunterWhat the staff have to say 'Hunter loved his night in the staff flat. He was extremely interested with all the new smells and rooms he could explore which led to him getting the zoomies. He did eventually burn himself out and lay down for a rest. He loves being up close with you and loves his cuddles. He doesn’t bother you when you’re eating your food and tells you when he needs a toilet or wants something although he does raise his ears when he hears a packet rustling or opening. It’s really nice to see them out of the kennels and how different they are in a homely environment. Hunter would make a brilliant companion for someone'If you are lucky enough to be popping off on some holidays in the next couple of weeks sadly this may not be the right time for you to apply for Hunter as he is actively looking for his new home to settle into :)Applications for Hunter are open now!Licence No: ACC/AWEL/03/21 by Aberdeen City CouncilAbout 3 months ago(94 days)Microchipped,Neutered,Vaccinated,Wormed.Older children / teens,Adults.Confident,Energetic,Friendly,Partially Trained (Recall etc.),Fully House (Toilet) Trained.
