Hi everyone, my name's Archie and I may be little in size but have a big personality to make up for it.I have recently spent the last couple of months in Foster care with two staff members from the centre here, and I have loved being in a comfy home environment again. This has allowed the team to learn a lot more about my rehoming requirements.So here goes......I am going to need quite a special home that's nice and quiet with an owner who will give me lots of time, patience, reassurance and understanding as I am a very worried and scared little boy. I am not the type of dog that likes to be fussed or petted, so if you are looking for a lap dog that isn't me I'm afraid. However, the team have been working on other ways of interacting with me and I now know a "touch" command and I get so excited to do this, I'm such a good boy!I would also benefit from having a space in my new home just for me, where I can go to if I need some quiet time - my Foster Mums say I get very sleepy in the evening and will take myself off to my favourite "igloo" bed.I am spotlessly clean in the home, and I actually settle very well so would be fine to leave for a period of time - you will most probably find me asleep under my blanket upon your return as I love getting all snuggly and warm. I am not a fan of the rain, mud, getting dirty or being woken up from my snoozing though!Once I know and trust you the real Archie comes out to play - I just love my special mini sized balls and tug toys, we could have so much fun! I am actually very clever and know lots of commands, love enrichment activities and am keen to learn new things. I am good on the lead and really enjoy sniffy walks as long as I'm away from busy roads.I wouldn't be able to live with cats or dogs I'm afraid, but if you have an adult only home and would be willing to handle me carefully and build up my confidence I would love to meet you and show you the real Archie x

Because of this, he needs a home with very secure boundaries and owners who are experienced and vigilant when it comes to managing clever dogs who like to explore!Casper is generally fine with other dogs, although he can sometimes become a little over-excited when meeting them. Hey there I'm Champ.My owner has now found himself having to work away from home for long periods of time and knows that's not fair on me, so he has asked for help through The Home Direct Scheme. The team at the centre will be trying to find me a suitable home and will conduct all of the meetings.I am a cracker of a dog - very good looking with the best temperament that you might find! I am so friendly, a real big softie!!! I am great with all people including children, and can live with cats and other dogs, so I literally tick lots of boxes!!!I am not huge.....but I am a bouncy, young, larger sized dog so will need someone who can hold me on the lead and who wont get pushed over easily if I jump up for some extra big cuddles and kisses. I am full of energy so will need a new owner who is up for some fun and adventures each and every day as I have a lot of energy to burn.I am used to always having someone around so wouldn't like to be left alone for long periods. If you did, I would probably get bored very quickly and bark a bit.At home I like to sleep on my very own arm chair or sit beside you, or even on you......if I can get on your lap!So come on everyone, I have lots of sloppy Champ kisses ready and waiting xx

Hi I’m Chance. I’m 5 years old, and I found my way into rescue after my time at the pound ran out. It was all a bit scary and confusing, if I’m honest. I’m still figuring things out.I can be quite an anxious boy in certain situations. But once I know I’m safe, that’s when the real me comes out.If I bond with you, you’ll know it. I’ve got the wiggliest bum and the happiest tail you’ve ever seen, all ready to greet my favourite people. I absolutely adore fuss and attention. Gentle strokes, kind words, sitting close together... that’s my love language. I’m a soft-hearted, gentle soul who just wants to feel secure and loved.I’ll need someone patient and understanding who can help me build my confidence at my own pace. I’m just a little unsure about life sometimes. With reassurance and positive experiences, I really will blossom.I’ll also need some support with my dog socialisation. I’m a bit fearful around other dogs right now, so slow introductions and ongoing positive training will help me learn that I don’t need to worry.In return, I promise to be the sweetest, most loyal companion you could ask for. Meet Darla! Darla is a larger than life personality, hoping to jump into her new forever home and bring unlimited joy and laughs into the world.At nearly 3 years old, Darla is a bit of an overgrown puppy who has been learning about manners and how to properly behave when out and about. She is so enthusiastic about absolutely everything she does, she is keen to explore and enjoy her youthful years. With a love for walks and zoomies, Darla is really looking for a family who love to be outdoors - but don't worry, she will also appreciate her home comforts and will appreciate a snack and cuddles on the sofa! Darla has a big love for toys but can become a little over excited when playing, so calmer, structured games and best for her - she's not yet got the hang of games like fetch and just runs after the ball, gets zoomies and forgets all about the toy! She is a very fun girl who makes everyone laugh. Darla has shown here that she can be really playful with other dogs, so it may be possible for her to live with another dog, providing that they are able to play and match her bouncy energy. Darla can be quite boisterous so this needs to be considered in finding the right match for her. In a previous home, Darla has lived with children and is very good around them, so sensible older children who are used to larger dogs may be suitable. Hi, I'm Finley!I’m only around 2 years old, so even though I might look like a big lad, I’m really still just a bouncy baby. I came to the centre because my owner became poorly and couldn’t look after me anymore.I absolutely adore people! I’m a total flirt with visitors and will lean in for cuddles, wag my whole body, and try my very best to climb into your lap (even if I’m a bit too big!). I’m incredibly loving, affectionate, and full of joy... but I do have very strong springs in my legs and can get overexcited. I don’t mean to be boisterous, I just get overwhelmed sometimes!I’m looking for a confident, experienced owner, ideally someone who understands bull breeds and is happy to take on a dog with ongoing behavioural needs. I can find change and new environments quite overwhelming, and I take time to settle into a new routine and build trust with the people around me. When I’m feeling unsure or overstimulated, I can become excitable and impulsive, so I’ll need someone who is patient, committed, and willing to let me settle at my own pace.I’ll thrive in a calm, structured home with clear boundaries, consistent training, and people who understand that progress takes time. My new family should be prepared to continue the behaviour work I've already started and give me the support I need to succeed. Hi... I’m Honey!I’m about a year and a half old, and I’ve been told I have a lot of love to give... and I think that’s true, because loving people is my absolute favourite thing in the whole world!When I see my favourite humans, I just can’t help myself—I get so excited to be near them! I love fuss, cuddles, attention... honestly, if you’re giving out love, I am there.I’ll be honest... I do still need a bit of basic training. I’m young, eager, and sometimes just a little too excited about everything! But I’m clever, I want to learn, and with the right guidance I’m going to grow into the most amazing companion. Because that’s what I really want—to be someone’s best friend.There is one other thing I should tell you. Although I'm currently living alongside other dogs in my foster home, I find meeting unfamiliar dogs really difficult. I can be quite reactive and I need someone who is willing to help me build my confidence through positive, patient training. Because of this, I'd need to be the only dog in my new home, where I can focus on settling in and feeling safe.I’ve got so much potential, so much love, and such a happy, affectionate nature. Hey everyone, pleased to meet you my name is Jack.I am a very handsome Bulldog. You may be able to see from my photos that I am blind in my right eye - but this doesn't affect me too much so don't let it put you off. I just need you to go nice and slow, and give me time to see things coming using my good side. I am quite noise sensitive which means I am worried by loud bangs and noises and can get scared easily by these so will need a home in a nice quiet location.I am a super affectionate boy and love human company, my little stubby tail just doesn't stop wiggling! I can get a bit too excited at times though and may be a bit humpy or mouthy.....I'm just being honest!!! I can snap out of it quickly though and I promise I will make a great companion for somebody.Although I don't want to walk miles, I am totally up for getting out and about and going exploring together. I can settle well into my lead walking but will just need someone who can cope with my strength as when I see other dogs I will try and pull towards them. After the initial excitement of going out, I love nothing more than having a good old sniff, so a nice garden would be ideal for me.I can be reactive towards some dogs, I'm a bit hiss and miss to be honest, and I have had an incident with a dog in the past, so I will need responsible owners who will keep me on a lead and help me get muzzle trained for some extra safety and your piece of mind.I am good at being left home alone for a few hours - you will most probably find me curled up sleeping on the sofa when you return.I am great to handle but due to just needing a bit of care around my eye, a home with teenage children of 16 plus, or adults who won't be so fast moving and noisy would be best for me. I am looking for a home through the Home Direct Scheme due to my current owners health, so I will still with him until a suitable match for me is found. All meets will be done at the Centre.

Hello my name's Jeremy.I’m a big, handsome Dogue de Bordeaux with an even bigger heart. Beneath my impressive size and wonderfully wrinkly face is a gentle, affectionate boy who simply loves being around people. Whether we’re heading out for a stroll or relaxing together afterwards, I’m happiest when I’m by your side.I’ve become a bit of a staff favourite here, and I like to think it’s because I’m such a good boy. I greet everyone with my big squishy face, plenty of affection, and the kind of soulful eyes that somehow convince people I definitely deserve one more treat. (They’re usually right.)I’m looking for a family who will cherish me for the gentle giant I am. Look at me, look at me!!!! I'm the gorgeous Lilly!!I am a bouncy, young energetic girl who is ready to get going with life.....so who is joining me?I came into the centre as a stray, so the staff here have had to get to know me from scratch, but so far they have discovered that I am super clever and great fun to be around. As with any dog my age I am still going to need lots of help with my training but I am extremely quick at picking up things and a real joy to work with. I can be a bit boisterous at times and I'm going to be a large sized dog when fully grown so will need new owners and a new home that can cope with a big dog who is full of fun and energy.Although I can socialise with other dogs I think a home with just me is going to be best as I can get a bit protective over things. I am going to need an adult only home too, ideally with someone who has dealt with guarding issues before or at least someone who will be willing to follow the advice from the team here at the centre.I haven't had the greatest start to life so far, but I honestly can't wait for a home to call my own xx Lilly xx
