Barry could live with children aged 10+. He could potentially live with other dogs and cats or small animals, although we have no history of his behaviour around such animals. Barry is a young lad who has been a delight to get to know. He is polite, sweet and very very friendly…and still just a pup…a very big pup! Barry has shown the team he is very well mannered, especially for his age. He walks nicely on lead and greets everyone he meets with a waggy tail and a keenness for a cuddle!Barry absolutely loves spending times with his human friends so would love to find a home with a family who are around a lot of the time. Barry arrived into our care as a stray so we are not 100% of breed but he is a very big lad and very young so has much growing to do yet. Barry would benefit from a family with large breed experience with the confidence to handle his size. Barry has met a few different dogs in our care and can seem confused by how he is meant to interreact. If he was to go home with another dog, it would need to be calm and patient and ready to show Barry the ways of the world! Barry has recently enjoyed a week on foster but, through no fault of his own, was returned to the shelter. Barry was his delightful self in the home, full of love and very affectionate. He loved his walks and enjoyed a good sniffari! Barry is the type of dog who stops folks in their tracks – he is absolutely beautiful inside and out and has not put a paw wrong since arriving with us. Basil can live with children 13+ but will need to be the only animal in the home. Basil is a beautiful, intelligent and energetic boy who has been lovely to get to know. He makes friends easily and greets strangers as if they are old pals! Basil has high activity needs as he has energy for days. He will need an owner who can keep up with him ensuring he is busy and entertained on the daily! Once Basil’s battery is drained a little, he is an affectionate lad who loves a fuss from his friends. Basil would love to find an experienced and active home who can give him plenty of mental and physical exercise and who are mindful and pro-active with regard to training ensuring this boy grows up with manners as beautiful as he is! Bear will need an adult only home and to be the only animal in the home. Bear is a fabulous lad to spend time with, he is cheeky and fun and a big ball of silliness. Bear can be boisterous and a little over the top at times. He is easily over-aroused and sometimes jumps up in his eagerness for attention! Bear loves his people and gets very excited to greet them…which sometimes means pulling to get there faster. Bear will need an owner who is physically strong enough to manage him and ideally has experience, or at lead a good knowledge, of the breed or guardian breeds. Bear is a bold and confident dog who is very intelligent and needs to be given something to think about, but he is also strong willed and powerful so this needs to be considered by his new family! Due to his sheer size he would ideally need a decent outdoor space and a large enough house to accommodate him comfortably. Bear has shown mixed reactions to dogs in our care – he appears frustrated and can be vocal. Bear will need a family who have the time and are committed to working with him to help rebuild his foundation and socialisation skills from which he can grown and flourish to help him regulate some of his big feeling. Bear is a beautiful boy inside and out and we just know in the right home he will make the most wonderful companion! Bert could live with children aged 5+. He could potentially live with another dog and cats or small animals. Bert is a delightful little lad who has bags of character! He is very much a typical pup – affectionate, playful and full of beans! He will require all of the basic training and socialisation that all puppies must undergo and needs a family who can give him the time, effort, patience and commitment that he deserves. Bert is a high-energy boy. He will need an active and experienced family who can keep up with him and help him develop into a confident and well-rounded adult dog. We have limited background information on Bert’s life prior to arriving here at the shelter but his previous owner did mention that he struggled when left alone so this is something his new family will need to help him through, gradually building up any time that he is left alone. Bert is an adorable little chap who is as bright as a button. He is a pleasure to spend time with and we have no doubt he will bring so much joy to his forever family. He may not have had the greatest of starts to his young life, but we can’t wait to see him thrive and grow into a brilliant lad in his forever home. Coco could live with children aged 13+. She could potentially live with other dogs, but no cats or small animals. Coco is a beautiful, active and intelligent girl. She is high-energy and needs a family who can keep up with her and provide her with plenty of both mental and physical stimulation, to keep her happy and healthy in both body and mind. She is a sweet lady who is very affectionate and friendly with her humans! She is boisterous and can be strong, so needs someone who is physically capable of managing her. She can get very excited when seeing other dogs and can become a bit silly and over-aroused. She will need a family who are capable of helping her work on calmer, more appropriate behaviours when meeting other dogs. If she was to go home with another dog, they would need to be well-matched and able to tolerate Coco’s daft, boisterous and excitable play / behaviours. Coco has tons of character and is great fun to spend time with. She has so much love to give and would love to go on lots of lovely adventures with her humans. Daz could live with children aged 16+. He would like the be the only pet in the home. Daz is a typical, daft Staffie! He is full of beans and will need an active family who can keep up with him. A home with experience of the breed would be beneficial. Daz has been very excitable when meeting other dogs whilst in our care and has shown some undesirable behaviours, he needs a responsible family who are committed to continuing his training and careful socialisation to help him to learn how to manage his big feelings and behave more appropriately. Daz will need to be kept on-lead in public areas whilst his training is ongoing to avoid him being too much for other dogs. Although Daz tends to walk nicely on the lead, he is a strong boy and so needs owners who are physically capable of managing him. This handsome, friendly lad loves spending time with his humans and getting out and about exploring. He also loves playing with his toys – although they don’t tend to last long! He needs a family who are able to provide him with plenty of mental and physical stimulation to keep him happy and healthy in both body and mind. He needs a family who can encourage calm behaviours and help him to develop into the best, most well-rounded version of himself. Fans of the breed will just absolutely adore Daz. He is a true Staffie through and through and has so much love to offer his forever family. We have no doubt he will bring his new home a lot of laughs with his silly ways! Delilah & Delores could live with children 10 +. They could live with other dogs and potentially cats and small animals. Delilah and Delores are both gorgeous, friendly and delightful girls who have not been a pick of bother throughout their stay with us. Initially, due to Delilah’s rehome journey being a little ahead of Delores’s, the girls were looking for homes separate from each other. However, the girls are so closely bonded and are so much fun together, whilst also being very well behaved, we are very much hoping we can find a home where they can stay together. Delilah and Delores are absolute superstars. They are tons of fun with all the laughs that boisterous bullies bring…whilst also being really well mannered, polite, sweet and snuggly girls. They walk well together without pulling, and have been super polite when meeting other animals – even ignoring cats as they pass. The girls would absolutely love to find a home where they can stay together, though, if we do not have any success and it no longer feels a possibility we are happy to explore individual homes still. The girls love attention and are very affectionate with their human friends so would love a home with a family who have plenty of time to spend with them giving belly rubs and playing with tug toys. The girls do enjoy being out an about and love a little wander greeting everyone with a waggy tail and making friends as they go. Delilah is definitely the more confident of the two – though Delores is not far behind, just ever so slightly more reserved. We can guarantee there will never be a dull moment with these two beauts around…and let’s face it…the only thing better than spending time with a dog…is spending time with two! Delilah has suffered with ear infections in our care and Delores has had an upset behind. This will now be considered a pre-existing condition so any future flare ups are unlikely to be covered by insurance. Diego is now on foster in his potential forever home, wish hm luck! Diego is looking for an adult-only home and would like the be the only pet in the home. Diego is a lovely lad who sadly finds the world quite an overwhelming place! He is very worried by strangers and other dogs, once he is comfortable with you – he really relies on his humans for comfort and reassurance. As he is such a nervous boy, this does come out as reactivity when he is feeling overwhelmed and so he needs experienced and confident owners who can provide him with ongoing support and training to help him be able to manage his fears more appropriately. He will need a calm and quiet home, with walks in quiet areas / at quiet times of day whilst he is building his confidence and learning that the world isn’t such a scary place. He is still such a young boy who sadly doesn’t appear to have the socialisation he should’ve had in his early days. He is very easily overstimulated and can still show some puppy behaviours, such as mouthing. Once comfortable with you, he loves to hop on your knee for a fuss and will show his playful side, chasing after toys. Diego will undoubtedly require time, patience and effort from his new family to help him become the best, most confident version of himself. This sweet boy has so much love to give and we know he has the potential to make a fantastic new family member to the right, dedicated family.
