Age5 years
BreedCaucasian Shepherd

Bella is a Caucasian Ovcharka of around 5 years. She is an absolutely stunningly beautiful girl inside and out. Loyal and loving. An affectionate and very sweet girl in the home with her people. In the home she is very much chilled out and laid back. A content and happy character. Not in the least bit demanding. She loves fuss and attention, belly rubs and generally to be close to her people. Very much a gentle giant with her people. An adorable big lump. She is perfectly happy being left alone for reasonable periods. She is housetrained. She sleeps through in the same room as her human at night without a peep. Bella is muzzle trained. She walks well on lead and loves to have a gallop about in a secure off lead area. She needs careful introductions to other dogs and actually loves doggy company when this is done correctly. As per her breed she is initially wary of strangers but she is in fact incredibly people friendly and again when safely introduced she loves to be made a fuss of. She has behaved impeccably at vet appointments . She has had a full groom whilst in rescue and did wonderfully... the groomers very much smitten with our lovely girl and much impressed with her good behaviour and nature. She has lived with a respectful teenager whom she adores but has not been around young children. Bella is a giant breed and needs a good sized secure garden or land home. We are looking for a home with large breed and/or guardian experience. Bella will only go to a loving pet home. Bella is spayed and in good health. Currently eats a raw diet which she is thriving on. Bella has spent time around horses, chickens and cats in a farm type setting and doesn't show any particular interest. Bella travels well. She will come with all of her own kit including harness , muzzle collar etc. The rescue will provide full guidance on how to support Bella and help settle her into her forever home . We are looking for a committed home that has done their due diligence and is knowledgeable about guardian traits and has some relevant experience ie giant/guardian/working breed of some sort...

Fergal, a 5 months old male Border Terrier available for adoption from North East Terrier Rescue in Northumberland

Fergal

Northumberland
SexMale
Age5 months
BreedBorder Terrier

Fergal is just 5mths old. He came to us with some health concerns including being partially sighted and suffering head tremors. He has checked in with our vet and advice is to treat as normal. We could request multiple referrals and tests but ultimately they would just come back to confirm the obvious with no actual treatment options at this point. Fergal does take CBD daily which we would very much like him to continue on for life at the rescues request. Beyond that he is a happy and healthy boy.He is very much still a baby learning and building confidence each day. Correct socialisation is absolutely vital with all pups and with Fergal being partially sighted and having lived a very sheltered life up to now it is even more important to get this right for him from here on. A home with experience of blind pups would be a massive bonus. Fergal must go to a home with other sociable well balanced dogs this is non negotiable. Obviously any resident dogs must be able to tolerate a 5mth baby shark with proper human supervision. Fergal ideally needs to be in a quieter more rural local. He needs a good sized secure garden to play safely. He may be limited vision wise but he is still very much a super active , inquisitive and spirited terrier. He absolutely loves zooming about chasing the other dogs outdoors and exploring. As per his age he is exploring the world with his mouth chewing and biting as to be expected. He is not house or crate trained at present. He travels well in a crate generally settles and sleeps. He has a good appetite. He currently sleeps in the human bed. We have introduced him to a harness and lead and although a little unsure he is enjoying walks/play outdoors. He is a very sweet and affectionate boy. Fergal needs a home very much committed to his life long training and socialisation and prepared to accept his health differences. We are looking for a home that is terrier savvy, a home preferably with some blind dog experience. Above all else a home that will keep him safe but equally support and encourage him to live the fullest life possible. A life full of adventures, fun and love. Fergal will need a home with someone around most all of the time.

Jess, a 4 years old female Border Terrier available for adoption from North East Terrier Rescue in Northumberland

Jess

Northumberland

Age4 years
BreedBorder Terrier

Jess is a 5year old Border type. She's looking for a rural, quieter home location with lovely country walks on the doorstep. Secure good sized garden essential. She must be an only pet and with owners that have lots of love, patience and time to dedicate. She can be left reasonable periods but would prefer a home with someone around more often than not. We're not looking to place Jess with children as she enjoys a less hectic quieter life. Jess is house trained and travels well. Just about crate trained. Jess does sleep on the end of her humans bed at night and this has always been so. She's a very affectionate sweet girl once you gain her trust and loves cuddles and fuss. Jess does take a little time to trust fully but is easily won round with a game of ball or tasty treats and from there you're set for life. Jess needs a calm, confident and experienced terrier owner. Jess is a proper adventure dog. She absolutely LOVES being outdoors exploring, hiking, swimming, chasing a ball, chewing a stick. She's fit and active and needs an outdoorsy owner that will enjoy exploring the great outdoors with her. She is the most fabulous, fun and lovely companion. After a nice walk Jess settles fine at home. She loves a natural chew , has a collection of favourite balls that keep her entertained, enjoys snoozing and belly rubs. Jess pulls a little with excitement but is generally good on lead. She doesn't go off lead unless in a secure area. Jess does not like other dogs up in her personal space . She passes other dogs without issue but has no desire to interact and needs an owner that will advocate for her space. Jess is very slowly building up to being handled for care and grooming. This is not something that she was happy with on arrival due to some very bad experiences previously. This will be discussed in more detail with adopters. Jess needs a very kind and patient approach when being handled for such things.

Otto

Age3 years
BreedSoft Coated Wheaten Terrier

Otto is a 3year old terrier mix. He is a very sweet and lovable boy but he does have a very high prey drive with regards to birds. Due to him being such a keen bird enthusiast he cannot go off lead. Otto needs a forever home with someone that has time to dedicate to training and ideally that is going to give him a job/sport to do. Something positive to put his energy and focus into. Otto is a gorgeous character very loving and affectionate with people and other dogs. Very playful, loves his toys, play with humans and his doggy friends. High energy. Keen to please. He is a little nervous /flighty as a result of his past but again having a job/sport or simply someone that enjoys training with him would benefit to help to build both a strong bond with his human and increase his confidence generally. He isn't a fan of being left and will need a home with someone around most all of the time . He needs a patient and understanding home that will give him lots of positive reinforcement and build him up to be the best version of himself. He can live with other dogs and very much enjoys their company. Occasionally he will grumble if sitting with his human and another dog wants up but he simply needs clear boundaries and to know what is expected and acceptable behaviour wise. Any resident dogs must be sociable and enjoy being in the company of another playful dog. Otto can't live with children . He needs a home with 6ft secure fencing (not something we ever request but he is both flighty and has high prey drive). Otto needs a terrier savvy experienced home.

Tobey, a Unknown old male Airedale Terrier available for adoption from North East Terrier Rescue in Northumberland

North East Terrier Rescue

Tobey

Northumberland
SexMale
AgeUnknown
BreedAiredale Terrier

Toby is typical of his breed, a very energetic, curious and fun loving dog. Very much a giant puppy behaviour wise, into everything, independent, confident and sometimes a little stubborn. He needs a home with knowledge and experience of the breed and that has the time and energy to dedicate to ongoing training and socialisation. Toby has not been well socialised with other dogs previously and can be a little reactive at times...barking and becoming over excited in their presence. That being said he is very young and has all of the potential to improve in the right environment with lots of positive input and reinforcement. A knowledgeable home prepared to put the effort in and provide consistent training and boundaries will end up with such a wonderful dog and companion.
