About Oak Tree Animals Charity

Oak Tree Animals’ Charity is a long-established animal welfare charity providing care, rehabilitation, and rehoming for dogs, cats, and equines in need. Founded in 1909, the charity has grown from its early work protecting working horses into a centre of excellence supporting a wide range of animals, including equines, goats, and companion pets. Oak Tree focuses on finding the right long-term homes for animals while offering ongoing advice and support to adopters to help build lasting, healthy relationships. Alongside rescue and rehoming, the charity works proactively within the community through education, advocacy, and welfare programmes such as Trap Neuter Return for feral cats, helping to improve animal welfare for future generations.

High Energy Basic Training* Looking for a rural environmentMeet handsome Hamish. Hamish is a 6 year old, neutered German wirehaired Pointer who is looking for his new forever home. Please note, Hamish can not live with dogs, cats or children.Hamish has always lived in a home, is house trained, crate trained, travels well in the car and loves a cuddle. Hamish can struggle being left at first so will need someone to gradually build up his time being left. Hamish is a strong dog who enjoys getting out for long walks. His previous owner would take him to dog paddocks often to allow him to be off lead and play with his toys.He is so eager to please and takes training on board very quickly - so far he has learnt heel, eye contact, distractions and is busy doing scent work, which he is so good at. Apart from his intelligence and training abilities, Hamish loves nothing more than a good snuggle on the couch - he loves people and has so much love to offer.Hamish has been in foster and was the perfect house guest - could you give him his forever home?If you could help this lovely boy through a uncertain time for him, please fill in an application today or call us to chat about Hamish. Please complete our Online Dog Adoption Matchmaking Questionnaire to express your interest. If you have any questions or issues, please call 01228 560082 or email smallanimalteam@oaktreeanimals.org.uk (between 10.00am to 4.00pm).On average, we have 400 animals come into our shelter every year. BreedLurcher

Lexi is a 6 year old lurcher who is looking for a loving home. Lexi has recently been in foster and was the perfect guest! She enjoys a snuggle and is a very affectionate girl. Lexi settles well when people are with her so we feel she would be better in a home where someone can be with her most of the time and gradually increase her leaving time. Lexi is very food motivated so this will be good when it comes to training her.Lexi can be unsure of smaller dogs on walks so we feel she would need to be in an only dog home. Lexi can have walking friends but isn't too keen when dogs get in her space. If you think you would be a good match for Lexi please apply today. On average, we have 400 animals come into our shelter every year.
