About O.U.R Dog Foundation

O.U.R Dog Foundation is an APHA-approved importer that rescues dogs from Romanian kill shelters and the streets, placing them into carefully matched homes across the UK. Every dog is thoroughly assessed, fully vaccinated (including rabies and kennel cough), microchipped, neutered if age-appropriate, blood tested for diseases such as brucellosis, and treated for fleas and worms before travel. Dogs are transported by APHA-approved carriers directly to adopters or foster homes, with options suitable for families, including child-tested and cat-friendly dogs. Adoption fees vary by age and location, and the charity provides lifetime rescue backup for every dog rehomed.

Meet Aspen!Aspen is one of Holly’s incredible puppies, and his story is one of true strength and survival. His mum was found just before Christmas by the river - freezing, starving, and doing everything she could to protect her newborn puppies. Thankfully, they were brought into safety, and these pups have since grown up in the shelter where they’ve blossomed into the happy, playful puppies they were always meant to be.Sadly, parvo hit the litter, along with others in the shelter, and not every puppy was as lucky. Against the odds, all of Holly’s puppies survived. Aspen has shown just how resilient and strong he is, and now he is fully recovered, fighting fit, and ready to find his forever home. We are so hopeful he will go on to live the long, happy life that many puppies affected by parvo sadly never get the chance to have.Aspen is a typical, joyful pup - full of life, curiosity, and affection. He loves to play with his siblings but is also confident enough to approach people on his own and enjoy human interaction. He is good with other dogs, can live with cats, and would be happy in a home with children. At just 4 months old, Aspen is already quite leggy and growing fast, with an expected adult weight of around 30kg. As a larger dog, he will need all the usual puppy training and an adopter who is committed to guiding him through the teenage phase. This stage can be challenging, but with patience and consistency, it leads to an incredibly rewarding bond.Aspen has already overcome more than most, and now he just needs someone to give him the loving home he truly deserves.• Good with other dogs• Good with cats• Can live with children

Bella, a 3 years old female Crossbreed available for adoption from O.U.R Dog Foundation in Romania

Bella

Meet Bella! Please meet Bella!Bella is a beautiful 3-year-old spayed female, weighing around 23kg, with long legs and a gentle, soulful nature. She has a calm presence and a sweetness that quietly emerges once she feels safe.Bella’s story is heartbreaking. In March 2022, she was dumped in a box outside the shelter gates along with her sisters when they were still tiny puppies. Since that day, the shelter has been the only life she has ever known. While other dogs have found their way home (including her sister Ursa), Bella has stayed behind, waiting patiently for someone to finally choose her.She currently lives outside, free with the other dogs, and has never experienced life in a home. Because of this, Bella will need basic training and time to adapt to living in a house with a garden. That said, she listens well to the shelter owners and shows a willingness to learn, making her a lovely candidate for someone prepared to guide her gently through this big transition.Bella is friendly with people and gets along well with other dogs. She could happily live with an other dogs or be the only dog in the home. She hasn’t been tested with cats. As she can be jumpy and energetic, she would be best suited to a home with older children.A home with a secure garden would be ideal, giving Bella the chance to explore, relax, and finally feel safe in her own space. This will also allow her to get used to a lead at her own pace as she currently doesn’t like wearing one.Although she can be shy at first and finds vet visits stressful, Bella blossoms with kindness and reassurance. She has spent her whole life waiting behind shelter gates - waiting to know what it feels like to belong. After more than three years of waiting, she truly deserves the chance to finally go home.• Good with other dogs• Not tested with cats• Can live with older children

Meet Cher!Lovely Cher has already been a wonderful mum — she’s the mother of our recently rehomed Musical Pups! She’s still at the shelter with her son Snoop and his dad Sonny, but while the boys are still quite shy, Cher is ready to take her next step and find a patient family of her own.Cher can be nervous at first, but she responds beautifully to gentle encouragement and, of course, a few tasty snacks! Once she feels safe, she’s happy to sit quietly by your side and enjoy a soft fuss. She has such a kind nature — she just needs someone to show her that people can be trusted. When Cher was first taken off the streets, she had to be transported in a crate as she wasn’t used to wearing a lead. She will need a secure garden and a family willing to build up her confidence slowly before expecting her to go out on walks. Her new family will need to be calm, patient, and experienced with shy dogs, giving her time to settle at her own pace.Cher would be happiest in a quiet, adult-only home, where she can feel safe and relaxed. She hasn’t been tested with cats, but given her calm nature, she may be able to live alongside them with careful introductions. At around 15kg and with lovely long legs, she’s the perfect size for both cuddles and exploring when she’s ready.Cher has already shown such courage and heart. With love and an understanding home who will work at her pace, she’ll blossom into a wonderful companion.• Good with other dogs• Could live with cats• Adult only home preferred

Meet Dragos!Sweet Dragos has spent his entire life — four long years — in the shelter. He was born here, and even saw his lovely mum Dracula find her forever home some years ago. Now, it’s finally time for this gentle boy to have his chance. At around 15kg, Dragos is the perfect medium size — small enough for cuddles, big enough for adventures! Because he’s always lived in the shelter, he’ll need a patient, understanding family who can help him learn what home life is all about.Dragos would do best as the only dog, though he may enjoy meeting calm female dogs on walks once he’s comfortable. He’s a little nervous about harnesses — especially anything going over his head — so he’ll need time, patience, and gentle encouragement to build his confidence. A secure garden is a must, so he can safely explore while learning to trust. He can be a bit barky, but that’s common in a busy shelter. Once he’s in a quiet, loving home, we believe he’ll start to relax and show his softer side.Dragos can’t live with cats, but he could happily share his space with kind, dog-savvy older teenagers who’ll give him the calm reassurance he needs. After four years of waiting, Dragos deserves to know what love, comfort, and safety really feel like. Could you be the one to show him?• Needs to be the only dog• Cannot live with cats• Can live with older teenagers

ļø Adoption Applications Open ļøMeet Ernie!Ernie is a fun-loving little lad of around one and a half years old, weighing approximately 12kg. Full of energy, personality, and affection, he’s looking for an active family who can keep up with his playful nature while giving him all the love he craves.Ernie absolutely adores people and is always ready to make new friends. He’s incredibly friendly, loves a cuddle, and enjoys spending time with his favourite humans. Whether he’s playing, exploring, or curling up for some affection, Ernie is happiest when he’s part of the action.Like many dogs in a shelter environment, Ernie can be quite vocal and will bark at dogs in neighbouring pens. He can enjoy playing with other dogs, but when attention is involved he can become a little snappy, so he would be happiest as the only dog in the home where he doesn’t have to compete for affection.Ernie is an energetic young dog who can be quite mouthy when he’s excited, so he’ll benefit from continued training and owners who can channel his enthusiasm into positive outlets. Unfortunately, Ernie cannot live with cats. He has shown a strong interest in the cats at the rescue, pacing around their pen and snapping, so he will need a cat-free home. He also hasn’t been assessed with children, so any potential home with children would need careful consideration. If you’re looking for a cheerful, affectionate little companion who will keep you smiling and happily join you on all of life’s adventures, Ernie could be the perfect addition to your family.Could you be the one to give Ernie the forever home he’s been waiting for? ļøā€¢ Would prefer to be the only dog• Not tested with cats• Could live with children

Eva

Romania

Meet Eva!She was born into a home where she spent her first eight months, but sadly, the man in the house regularly beat her. Eva didn’t understand what she had done wrong — she only knew fear and confusion. Thankfully, the man’s son saw how much Eva was suffering and did the kindest thing he could: he brought her to our safe shelter, where she could finally begin to heal and learn that not all people are cruel.Despite everything she’s endured, Eva’s spirit hasn’t been broken. She’s an affectionate, playful girl who absolutely adores belly rubs and will happily flop over for one any chance she gets. Once she trusts you, she gives her whole heart and loves deeply. She’s bright, eager to learn, and full of energy — a wonderful mix of her Malinois and Akita traits.Eva would thrive in an active home with access to a garden, where she can run, play, and enjoy life to the fullest. She’s good with other dogs and loves to play, although she can be a little protective over her toys. In the shelter environment, she hasn’t quite learned to share yet, but with gentle guidance and consistency, this will improve as she continues to feel safe and secure. She’s a bit too bouncy and excitable to live with cats, but she could happily live with older children who understand how to respect her space and match her playful energy. Eva could also be an only dog, as long as she gets regular interaction and playtime with other friendly dogs.Eva has come such a long way since she arrived, and now she’s ready for her happy ending — a loving, patient home where she can truly shine. She’s loyal, full of life, and so deserving of the gentle love she missed out on before.• Good with other dogs• Cannot live with cats• Can live with older children

Meet Fionn!Fionn is a 10-year-old gentleman, weighing around 35kg, whose world was turned upside down. For his entire life, he had a home — a person, a sofa, a routine, and love. But when his owner grew old and could no longer care for him, she left him out on the streets.Confused, scared, and alone, Fionn was soon caught by the dog catchers and taken to a kill shelter — from a comfy sofa to death row before he knew what was happening.Fionn is looking for a quiet, adult-only home where he can spend his golden years in peace. He walks beautifully on a lead and still enjoys gentle strolls, just as he used to with his family. He loves a quiet fuss and kind words, but he also values his own space — a house with a secure garden where he can wander, nap, and simply be would be perfect for him. He’d like to be the only pet, as he doesn’t enjoy the company of other dogs and has had a few disagreements in the past. He hasn’t been tested with cats, so a pet-free home would be best.Fionn doesn’t ask for much — just safety, kindness, and a soft place to rest his head. Sadly, time isn’t on his side. If he doesn’t find a home soon, he may become too old to travel and will be forced to live out his final days in the shelter. Please, don’t let that be his story. Fionn deserves to feel loved again for his final years.• Needs to be the only dog• Not tested with cats• Adult only home needed

He is active, strong, and full of life, greeting everyone he meets with enthusiasm and warmth. He will often greet you by jumping up for a cuddle! Before he reached safety, Gruia spent part of his life as a chain dog. He braved every season - the heat, the cold, the rain - stuck at the end of a short chain with nowhere to go, nothing to explore, and no affection or comfort. He had no choice, no freedom, and no one to love him. That Gruia is still so friendly and trusting after this is a testament to his incredible spirit.Despite that heartbreaking past, Gruia is a joyful, people-oriented dog who craves companionship and interaction. He jumps up excitedly to say hello and thrives on attention and connection. He would love to live with another playful dog, as he enjoys having a companion to share his energy with. Cats haven’t been tested. Due to his size and enthusiasm, Gruia would be best suited to a home with older children.Gruia is generally quiet and doesn’t bark much. He will need patient guidance with lead walking, as he hasn’t had much experience, but he is eager to learn. A home with a large, secure garden is essential, giving him the space and freedom he was once denied.Gruia lost so much time standing at the end of a chain, waiting for a life that never came. With the right home, Gruia will be a devoted, joyful companion who will never take freedom or kindness for granted.• Would prefer another dog in the home• Not tested with cats• Can live with older children
