About Pads Dog Rescue

Perthshire Abandoned Dogs Society (PADS) is a long-established local dog rescue charity based at kennels in Forteviot, just south-west of Perth in Scotland. The charity provides care and shelter for unwanted and stray dogs across the county, with renovated kennels that can accommodate up to thirty dogs in warm and comfortable surroundings. PADS offers essential veterinary treatment for sick and injured animals, supported by a small on-site hospital unit for post-operative recovery. A dedicated mother-and-baby unit also ensures that nursing dogs and their puppies receive safe and attentive care while awaiting loving new homes.

Atlas, a 1 year old male Siberian Husky available for adoption from Pads Dog Rescue in Scotland

Pads Dog Rescue

Atlas

Scotland
SexMale
Age1 year
BreedSiberian Husky

Atlas arrived with us through no fault of his own, he’s has missed out on some training and socialisation in his first year. With the help of his breeder we’ve had him fostered but sadly here he struggled to live with other pets and children. He was fostered with another dog but he started bullying them after a while, he was ok with the cats initially and then began hunting them. As he’s not reliable around other dogs, and a Husky, we would be prefer he had his own private garden for off-lead exercise. He will need an experienced adult-only home where he can learn boundaries and manners.

Gill, a 5 years old male Lakeland Terrier available for adoption from Pads Dog Rescue in Scotland

Pads Dog Rescue

Gill

Scotland
SexMale
Age5 years
BreedLakeland Terrier

Gill is an ex-working Patterdale, she’s lived in a kennel all her life. She arrived with us after she and a new dog in the home fought so badly that the other dog succumbed to her injuries and died. Gill’s family were too distraught to look at her and so brought her to us to rehome.Gill is great with people and the family tell us ok with male dogs but she’s always been unpredictable with females. Although she is ok with kids, the likelihood of kids leaving doors and gates open does mean that she might not be suited to some families / homes. Gill will chase cats and small furry creatures and will need careful management by an experienced dog owner.

Izzy, a 2 years old female Afghan Hound X Siberian Husky available for adoption from Pads Dog Rescue in Scotland

Izzy

Scotland
SexFemale
Age2 years
BreedAfghan Hound X Siberian Husky

Izzy arrived in suspect circumstances, apparently found at the side of road. Her microchip hadn’t been updated from the “breeder” who was unreachable. Her microchip has her listed as a Siberian Husky but she’s quite petite at only 11kgs so we believe she is in fact a Pomsky.Izzy is wary of men, she found the vets very scary and doesn’t like being overly handled but will happily take a pet on her own terms! Husky’s and Pom’s have a reputation for being a bit independent and like to make their own rules – Izzy is no exception. Husky’s are not to be trusted off lead so we believe she should have her own private and secure garden for some off lead fun as she just loves to do zoomies!Izzy is reactive to other dogs and we don’t think she should be placed in home with another dog.

Willow, a 10 years old male Lakeland Terrier available for adoption from Pads Dog Rescue in Scotland

Pads Dog Rescue

Willow

Scotland
SexMale
Age10 years
BreedLakeland Terrier

Willow was rehomed last year and has to be returned due to her determination to escape the garden and chase livestock and wildlife around the home. Willow may be 10 years old but her legs are like springs and her eyes and ears are as sharp as a 1 year old!Willow is a dream in the house, welcomes all human visitors, loves a sunbathe and a cuddle, and getting under the duvet at night. Unfortunately, she is the polar opposite outside of the home with a high prey drive. Willow needs someone who has no garden or a very secure one, she has managed to climb over a 6ft fence here. Although she is ok with kids, the likelihood of kids leaving doors and gates open does mean that she might not be suited to some families / homes. Willow will chase cats and small furry creatures. She has lived with another male dog but would need careful introduction to any new friends.
