About Pads Dog Rescue

Perthshire Abandoned Dogs Society (PADS) is a long-established local dog rescue charity based at kennels in Forteviot, just south-west of Perth in Scotland. The charity provides care and shelter for unwanted and stray dogs across the county, with renovated kennels that can accommodate up to thirty dogs in warm and comfortable surroundings. PADS offers essential veterinary treatment for sick and injured animals, supported by a small on-site hospital unit for post-operative recovery. A dedicated mother-and-baby unit also ensures that nursing dogs and their puppies receive safe and attentive care while awaiting loving new homes.

Alan, a 2 years old female Staffordshire Bull Terrier x Jack Russell Terrier available for adoption from Pads Dog Rescue in Scotland

Pads Dog Rescue

Alan

Scotland
SexFemale
Age2 years
BreedStaffordshire Bull Terrier x Jack Russell Terrier

Alan came to us from his owner, he arrived with Blue the Staffie. The boys exercise here together but bring out the worst in one another so rehoming them separately is probably in their best interest.Alan has had little training with lead walking and has not been allowed off lead, he is reactive to other dogs but as he and his brother would egg each other on he hasn’t had the opportunity to meet other dogs on his own, we will continue to try and work on his suitability around other dogs but for now, is likely best rehomed with an easy going female dog or on his own.He will chase cats and has never been around children so any children should be dog savvy and at least 10 years of age.Alan’s owner didn’t have a car so he isn’t used to it, but is not sick just anxious. As he is still working on recall, his own private and secure garden would be advantageous.

Atlas, a 1 year old male Siberian Husky available for adoption from Pads Dog Rescue in Scotland

Pads Dog Rescue

Atlas

Scotland
SexMale
Age1 year
BreedSiberian Husky

Atlas arrived with us through no fault of his own. Atlas has missed out on vital training and socialisation in his first year. With the help of his breeder we’ve had him fostered but sadly he will struggle to live with other pets and children. He was fostered with another dog but was a bit of a bully and then reactive when our walking, he was ok with the cats initially and then began hunting them. As he’s not reliable around other dogs, and a Husky, we would be prefer he had his own private garden for off-lead exercise. He really will need an experienced sled dog adult-only home where he can learn boundaries and manners.

Blue, a 8 years old male Staffordshire Bull Terrier available for adoption from Pads Dog Rescue in Scotland

Blue

Scotland
SexMale
Age8 years
BreedStaffordshire Bull Terrier

Blue came to us from his owner, he arrived with Alan. The boys exercise here together but bring out the worst in one another, and Alan just annoys Blue.Blue is a proper old school Staffie, the lovely wee square shape. He is ok with other dogs but awful when Alan is with him. He’s not been allowed off lead in public often so this will need work, his lead walking is ok.He’s never met cats or children, is house-trained and travels well.

Cassius, a 6 years old male Bulldog available for adoption from Pads Dog Rescue in Scotland

Pads Dog Rescue

Cassius

Scotland
SexMale
Age6 years
BreedBulldog

Cassius has very sadly been returned to us, it’s been over two years since he was rehomed, and he’s been returned through no fault of his own. He’s still the big loveable lump we all adore. He’s got a bit fat while he was away and needs a diet, he’s been on cheap food and his skin has flared up again so he’s on a wee dose of steroids and a better food to help get this matter resolved.Cassius is not great with other dogs but not the type to lunge and bark, he’d rather just be with his humans. He’s been living with kids recently and loved them. Cats are a no.As ever, an experienced dog owner with their own garden would be advantageous.

Gill, a 5 years old male Lakeland Terrier available for adoption from Pads Dog Rescue in Scotland

Pads Dog Rescue

Gill

Scotland
SexMale
Age5 years
BreedLakeland Terrier

Gill is an ex-working Patterdale, she’s lived in a kennel all her life. She arrived with us after she and a new dog in the home fought so badly that the other dog succumbed to her injuries and died. Gill’s family were too distraught to look at her and so brought her to us to rehome.Gill is great with people and the family tell us ok with male dogs but she’s always been unpredictable with females. Although she is ok with kids, the likelihood of kids leaving doors and gates open does mean that she might not be suited to some families / homes. Gill will chase cats and small furry creatures and will need careful management by an experienced dog owner.

Harley, a 8 years old male Staffordshire Bull Terrier available for adoption from Pads Dog Rescue in Scotland

Pads Dog Rescue

Harley

Scotland
SexMale
Age8 years
BreedStaffordshire Bull Terrier

Harley was first relinquished to PADS in 2019 and sadly has been returned due to his owner ill-health.He’s great with people but is not good with other dogs and can be lead reactive. He lived with a cat but they weren’t keen on one another. He is house-trained, happy to be left alone for a few hours at a time, he travels well (he was a van dog) and likes affection and carrying his beloved teddies around.Due to his owner’s ill-health he’s got a bit chubby so should have a healthy diet and exercise little and often to get him back to a healthy weight. As he’s not reliable around other dogs and can be lead reactive, so we would be prefer he had his own private garden for off-lead exercise.

Iggy, a 1 year old male Lurcher available for adoption from Pads Dog Rescue in Scotland

Pads Dog Rescue

Iggy

Scotland
SexMale
Age1 year
BreedLurcher

Iggy arrived as a stray, he was lucky to be caught on the side of the busy A9.He’s a sweet boy, loves a cuddle with humans. Not bothered for other dogs. Being a sighthound we would not recommend a home with cats or small furry residents. As he was a stray we will not rehome to families with children under 12. Sighthounds are not renowned for their recall so we would love his own private garden for off lead exercise and ZOOOOOOOOMIES!!!He’s been diagnosed with vasculitis, where the blood vessels in his ears are bursting causing bleeding, which we’re treating at this time.

Izzy, a 2 years old female Unknown available for adoption from Pads Dog Rescue in Scotland

Pads Dog Rescue

Izzy

Scotland
SexFemale
Age2 years
BreedUnknown

Izzy arrived in suspect circumstances, apparently found at the side of road. Her microchip hadn’t been updated from the “breeder” who was unreachable. Her microchip has her listed as a Siberian Husky but she’s quite petite at only 11kgs so we believe she is in fact a Pomsky.Izzy is wary of men, she found the vets very scary and doesn’t like being overly handled but will happily take a pet on her own terms! Husky’s and Pom’s have a reputation for being a bit independent and like to make their own rules – Izzy is no exception. Husky’s are not to be trusted off lead so we believe she should have her own private and secure garden for some off lead fun as she just loves to do zoomies!Izzy is reactive to other dogs and we don’t think she should be placed in home with another dog.

Millie, a 1 year old female Jack Russell Terrier available for adoption from Pads Dog Rescue in Scotland

Pads Dog Rescue

Millie

Scotland
SexFemale
Age1 year
BreedJack Russell Terrier

Millie arrived from her owner, a change in circumstances and Millie and the other dog constantly fighting meant it was no longer manageable for her family.Millie is a sassy wee girl and has been hit and miss with other dogs while with us, she’s probably best placed as an only dog in her new home. She’s not used to children and couldn’t be re-homed with cats.Millie has had her tail docked as she was bought in England, a certificate of authentication is available. Millie has a luxating patella but doesn’t seem to affect her quality of life.

Milo, a 2 years old male Bulldog available for adoption from Pads Dog Rescue in Scotland

Pads Dog Rescue

Milo

Scotland
SexMale
Age2 years
BreedBulldog

Milo is a Bulldog mix, nearly 3 years of age. Milo came to us as a welfare case and through his chip we were able to contact his first owner who was devastated to learn about what had happened to her dog after rehoming him just in November 2025.Despite what’s happened to him, Milo is a lovely friendly boy, likes *most* other dogs, adults and children, but bigger kids as wee ones are getting squished! Initially anxious of new things he’s now found his big goofy feet and bounces about like a loony once he knows you. He’s house trained and was left for a couple of hours with another dog in his first home however is a bit freaked out here in the kennels. His lead manners are pretty good but recall requires work. As ever, an experienced dog owner with their own garden would be advantageous.

Monty, a 7 years old male Greyhound available for adoption from Pads Dog Rescue in Scotland

Pads Dog Rescue

Monty

Scotland
SexMale
Age7 years
BreedGreyhound

Monty arrived from his family through no fault of Monty’s.Monty is lovely big boy (over 30kgs). He was a bit shy of being handled by a vet but that’s probably just lack of exposure. He enjoys a walk with volunteer dog walkers and is clean in his kennel. He is ok with other dogs his size, being of sighthound heritage he would likely chase small fluffy animals so isn’t best placed with cats. He’s been around children but hasn’t lived with them, so older children would be best.

Pablo, a 4 years old male Siberian Husky available for adoption from Pads Dog Rescue in Scotland

Pads Dog Rescue

Pablo

Scotland
SexMale
Age4 years
BreedSiberian Husky

Pablo was tied to a railing in Perth and no-one ever claimed him, he’s a typical Husky type, a bit aloof at times but friendly, easily examined by the vet and happy to be brushed. He is anxious in his kennel but we believe he is house-trained. Being a Husky he should not be exercised off lead in an open area but as he loves to play fetch we’d love his own garden for him.We do not know his suitability around cats or other pets, as he was a stray we cannot rehome with children less than 12 years of age.
