About Paw Society

People’s Animal Welfare Society (PAW Society) is dedicated to giving cats and dogs a second chance through loving foster homes rather than kennels, allowing their true personalities to shine. Many animals are assessed in homes with other pets and children, while some confident cats are fostered at Kiko’s Cat Café in Rye to help them socialise and find adopters. The charity rescues both UK and overseas animals, specialising in ex-strays and those with long-term health conditions or disabilities. Passionate about tackling the root causes of overpopulation, PAW Society strongly promotes spaying and neutering as essential to improving global animal welfare.

Kenny

East Sussex
SexMale
Age5 years
BreedUnknown

Whoever is lucky enough to adopt Kenny will have a friend for life. This sweet and soppy boy is unfalteringly loyal and adores his favourite people. He’s seeking a calm and stable environment in which to finally settle down.Kenny is pretty much summed up by the word “goofy”. His daily zoomies and bursts of play provide endless entertainment and, each time you return home, he’ll treat you to a very wiggly “hello” dance. He is very affectionate and would spend all day curled up with you if he could. His happy place is the sofa! If he feels he’s not getting enough attention, he’ll let you know by tapping you with his paw until you give him a scratch. In his life, Kenny’s lived with dogs of all sizes, breeds and sexes and is very happy in their company. While he’s never lived with cats, he’s shown no prey drive while on walks. He has lived well alongside a young child while in residential training and he may gravitate towards children due to their natural vulnerability. A home with children could be considered for Kenny in the right family.

Mario is a timid soul with a huge heart, blossoming beautifully once he feels safe and understood. He’s wonderfully social with other dogs, gentle around children, and happy to coexist peacefully with cats and small animals. Playful and active once he feels safe, Mario loves doggy games and running around with canine friends.New people, loud noises, and busy environments can overwhelm him, but with patience and reassurance he warms up and shows his affectionate, devoted side. He’s a bright boy and very food‑motivated, eager to please, and has made great progress with confidence and independence. He’s looking for a calm, understanding home, ideally with another friendly dog, where he can continue building trust and enjoy the comfort of a steady routine.Mario needs to move from his foster home by September 2026 due to the personal circumstances of his foster. He's been with them since late 2024 and has made great progress in their care. To provide Mario with the best chance at finding happiness, we're happy to consider applications to adopt, foster, or foster with a view to adopt.

Olly is proof that patience, love, and a little bit of routine can work wonders. When he first arrived in foster care, he was extremely anxious and shut down but today he’s blossomed into a goofy, affectionate, and gentle boy who lives life with joy. He’s a true foodie and will do just about anything for a tasty treat. With a stable routine, Olly has mastered his toilet training, loves his walks, and is always up for splashing in the sea or plodding through muddy puddles. He’s still building his fitness and has a little weight to lose, but he’s enjoying every step of the journey.Olly is wonderful with other dogs - he lives happily alongside five in foster - and he’s also comfortable around children, as long as they’re old enough to understand his need for space after all he’s been through. He’s not fazed by strangers out on walks and, once he trusts someone, his affectionate, bouncy side shines through. His favourite part of the day is greeting his people when they return home, jumping around with such joy you can’t help but laugh.

Meet Sally, a happy, affectionate girl who settled into foster life almost immediately - it was as if she’d always been there! She loves people of all ages and is especially sweet and playful with children. Sally’s favourite thing is attention, and she’ll happily soak up fuss, strokes, and playtime with her humans. On walks, Sally can be occasionally reactive if close to home, but her attention can be quickly returned back to her human. When walking further from home, Sally shows no interest towards other dogs. She travels well in the car and adores being out and about.Sally has met other dogs and gets along well with them, though she does prefer to have her own space. She can sometimes get jealous if she’s enjoying affection and another dog comes over, but she’s otherwise relaxed and even sleeps alongside her foster siblings.Sally no longer experiences separation anxiety and can be left happily for up to four hours. She absolutely loves toys and likes to lay them all out on the floor before deciding which one to play with!
