About Pawprints Dog Rescue

Pawprints Dog Rescue began as a local community initiative in Rugby, offering advice on responsible dog ownership and helping reunite lost dogs with their owners. After discovering that many healthy strays were being euthanised due to a lack of rescue spaces, the group evolved into a dedicated dog rescue charity in 2011. Pawprints focuses on saving at-risk dogs from local pounds, providing veterinary treatment, rehabilitation, and foster-based care before rehoming. Funded entirely through fundraising and public support, the charity is not breed selective and continues to rescue hundreds of dogs that might otherwise have been put to sleep.

Billy

SexMale
Age3 years
BreedStaffordshire Bull Terrier

Billy is a handsome boy who is looking for a patient family able to help his confidence grow. We don’t have much history on Billy, but it seems he has not been exposed to much in the past and can become a bit over the top at times. We are working on this with him, and he is making improvements every day. Billy loves being around other dogs but is currently to be the only dog in the home due to being neutered recently, but he will share his walks with canine friends. Once you build a relationship Billy will happily enjoy some fuss and loves an ear massage! We are looking for an adult only home, so Billy has a quiet place to take himself should he feel overwhelmed. Billy would like a big cosy bed to curl up into, and a nice garden he can explore. He has so much love to give to a family and will be an amazing addition to the home. We would like a family interested to meet him a few times or have a few home visits to build his confidence so will be looking for a home close to our Rescue.

Biscuit is a lovely older gentleman looking for his forever home. He has firmly stolen the hearts of the Pawprints team !Biscuit Biscuit is a handsome older gentleman who would like to find a quiet home to spend his retirement years, he is on some medication for his legs as they have become a bit stiff as he has gotten older, but it doesn’t stop him! He loves to have a run around and chase a ball and will still happily go out for some walks. He has previously lived with another dog and has been relaxed to see them whilst with us, but this needs some further assessing and will be done soon. He would suit being the only dog and having people around most of the time, he really loves fuss and attention and will happily sit on your lap once he knows you. Biscuit has been known to not take a liking to male visitors in the home but has lived with and been around men so may just need a safe space in the home when visitors are there. Biscuit would prefer a home with adults only and no visiting children, he likes his peace and quiet! Vets are very scary to biscuit, and he does need to be muzzled as a precaution, we have started muzzle training with him and will show new adopters how to carry this is on

Chilli is an older boy who is looking for a family to look after him in his golden years, he still really enjoys going for walks and having a play but then will like to have a good nap – on your lap if you will let him! When Chilli first came to us, he had a lot of problems with his skin, but with some love, medicated shampoos and medication he is really thriving and feeling much better. He loves human company and will take all the fuss and cuddles on offer but nothing for him beats FOOD! Watch where you put your plates and snacks as he will seek them out! Everyone who meets Chilli instantly falls in love; he is a true happy character and will definitely put a smile on your face. Yes, he is an older boy, but he really does have a lot of life left to offer a new family. He is currently in a foster home where he has settled in really well, he has been toilet trained, able to be left for a few hours and even lives with a rabbit – although he does enjoy having a bark at them.

Dustin

Warwickshire
SexMale
Age2 years
BreedMastiff

Dustin is a lovable, playful boy who is also super intelligent and loves his training he would love to find an active home with a family wanting to further his training and will enjoy having a big dog in their lives. Dustin does walk well on the lead, but gets excited to see dogs and wants to sniff lots so can be strong when he wants to go somewhere! Dustin could live with another dog; however, he is currently not neutered due to being too young for his size so needs to live with other males or a neutered female. He is super bouncy and playful so we would be looking for a home with older teenagers that are used to bigger dogs. Dustin can be aloof when meeting new people but once he knows you his real character shines through, watch out for zoomies! He loves toys, will play tug and will run after toys but hasn’t quite mastered bringing it back! In his previous home he was left for a few hours, but this will need building back up slowly.

Eleanor, a 2 years old female Crossbreed available for adoption from Pawprints Dog Rescue in Warwickshire

Eleanor

Warwickshire

Age2 years
BreedCrossbreed

Eleanor is a young and playful girl who is looking for her perfect family to have a home of her very own. She loves to play, loves toys and loves if you chase her around! Although being big and does love to jump up to say hello, over all she’s a gentle girl who works hard walking nicely on the lead and doesn’t snatch treats. She is looking for an adult only home as she can be worried by a busy environment. Eleanor does enjoy playing with other dogs but having spent a while in kennels she lacks some social skills, although there is potential for her to live with an established dog, we also think she would thrive on her own being the centre of attention but would like to go for playdates and have walking friends. Her ideal home would have access to some nice quiet walks, but she does love the car so can travel. Men can worry Eleanor and it is something we are working on changing her emotion around, she has successfully been introduced to both male volunteers and some builders we had here at the centre it just takes a little extra time. For this reason, she needs a family willing to continue her training and will be able to manage visitors coming into the home. Eleanor is a joy to be around, staff and volunteers love spending time with her both off lead in our secure areas and taking her offsite with her canine friends.

He may do better in a home with a single occupant, however if an understanding family comes along, more than one person in the home will be considered. Finn has some anxieties around a change of routine so we will be looking for someone wiling to meet him multiple times to create a relationship before he goes home. He will need an adult only home. Although an older boy wanting a quiet lifestyle, Finn is still full of beans and will chase a ball for hours and will happily go for long walks once settled into the home. Finn will happily greet some dogs but does not like them in his face, or dogs that are too bouncy, so needs to be the only dog in the home but can have some walking friends. If you are looking for an older gentlemen who still has a lot of life in him to play, go on adventures and have the time to continue some training he has been working through, then Finn will be perfect!

I’m a friendly and lovable girl who enjoys quiet sniffy walks and playing with my toys! I can be a little worried when meeting new people and find female company easier. I would love to find a nice quiet home with a human that I can call my own and who will continue to help build my confidence as I can be a sensitive girl. I struggle a little with the outside world but I am working on this and I am improving on my lead walking and listening to my humans when they give me guidance.
