About Pawprints Dog Rescue

Pawprints Dog Rescue began as a local community initiative in Rugby, offering advice on responsible dog ownership and helping reunite lost dogs with their owners. After discovering that many healthy strays were being euthanised due to a lack of rescue spaces, the group evolved into a dedicated dog rescue charity in 2011. Pawprints focuses on saving at-risk dogs from local pounds, providing veterinary treatment, rehabilitation, and foster-based care before rehoming. Funded entirely through fundraising and public support, the charity is not breed selective and continues to rescue hundreds of dogs that might otherwise have been put to sleep.

Barbara, a 3 years old female Bulldog available for adoption from Pawprints Dog Rescue in Warwickshire

Pawprints Dog Rescue

Barbara

Warwickshire
SexFemale
Age3 years
BreedBulldog

Introducing Barbara, who recently had a great time at our annual dog show, she placed 4th in “a face only a mother could love”… but is now waiting for that mum, and or, dad to show her rosette off too. Barbara is a 4 year old Chinese Bulldog with a huge personality just waiting to show it off to a forever family. While she can be a little nervous when first meeting new people, anyone willing to give her the time and patience she needs will soon see what a truly special girl she is. Once Barbara forms a bond, her wonderful character shines through, she’s funny, sweet, affectionate, and endlessly entertaining. As we don’t know anything about Barbara’s life before coming into our care, we’re unsure whether she has lived in a home environment before. However, she absolutely loves spending time with us in the office, where she happily settles herself on a cosy bed or curls up on the sofa. She may need a little refresher with house training, so a home with a secure garden would be ideal. This would give her a safe space to continue building her confidence and help her gradually adjust to her new routine before venturing further afield. Barbara has had some worries around handling in the past, but thanks to training, understanding, and medication to help manage her arthritis, she has come on leaps and bounds. These days she really enjoys a fuss and is happy to be stroked all over by the people she trusts. Her medication will need to be long term, if interested in Barbara we will discuss her medical in more detail with you. She enjoys walking alongside other dogs and is happy to socialise out and about, but at the moment Barbara would prefer to be the only dog in her new home so she can enjoy all the attention for herself. Barbara is also a fantastic traveller and loves car journeys, especially when she can look out of the window and watch the world pass by on the way to her next adventure. Barbara is looking for a calm, adult-only home with patient adopters who will give her the time she needs to settle in. Her adopters may also need to visit the rescue several times before taking her home. In return, you’ll gain a loyal companion with a loving nature, and a personality that’s impossible not to fall in love with!!

Billy, a 3 years old male Staffordshire Bull Terrier available for adoption from Pawprints Dog Rescue in Warwickshire

Pawprints Dog Rescue

Billy

Warwickshire
SexMale
Age3 years
BreedStaffordshire Bull Terrier

Billy is a handsome boy who is looking for a patient family able to help his confidence grow. We don’t have much history on Billy, but it seems he has not been exposed to much in the past and can become a bit over the top at times. We are working on this with him, and he is making improvements every day. Billy loves being around other dogs but is currently to be the only dog in the home due to being neutered recently, but he will share his walks with canine friends. Once you build a relationship Billy will happily enjoy some fuss and loves an ear massage! We are looking for an adult only home, so Billy has a quiet place to take himself should he feel overwhelmed. Billy would like a big cosy bed to curl up into, and a nice garden he can explore. He has so much love to give to a family and will be an amazing addition to the home. We would like a family interested to meet him a few times or have a few home visits to build his confidence so will be looking for a home close to our Rescue.

Dart, a 5 years old male Pocket Bully available for adoption from Pawprints Dog Rescue in Warwickshire

Pawprints Dog Rescue

Dart

Warwickshire
SexMale
Age5 years
BreedPocket Bully

Handsome boy Dart is searching for a place to finally call home, a calm, loving space where he can feel safe, understood, and truly part of the family. He loves spending time with his humans whether that’s relaxing in the garden or quietly keeping you company around the house or joining you on walks. His perfect home would be one where someone is around most of the time, especially to begin with but with patience and reassurance, he can gradually build up to spending short periods alone. He would do best in an adult-only home and a secure garden is important for him too. Out on walks, he’s a happy, enthusiastic boy who can get a little excited at first and pull on the lead, but once he settles into the walk, he relaxes and enjoys himself. He also loves other dogs and is social when out and about, but at home he would prefer to be the only pet. Dart also loves the car and will jump in at any given opportunity so he would love someone that would take him on some adventures! This special boy does have ongoing medical needs and will require long-term pain medication; this will be discussed in detail with anyone offering Dart a home. If you are currently not in a place to adopt but could offer foster care, please also get in touch.

Dustin, a 2 years old male Mastiff available for adoption from Pawprints Dog Rescue in Warwickshire

Pawprints Dog Rescue

Dustin

Warwickshire
SexMale
Age2 years
BreedMastiff

Dustin is a lovable, playful boy who is also super intelligent and loves his training he would love to find an active home with a family wanting to further his training and will enjoy having a big dog in their lives. Dustin does walk on the lead, but gets excited to see dogs and wants to sniff lots so can be strong when he want to go somewhere! Dustin could live with another dog; however, he is currently not neutered due to being too young for his size so needs to live other males or a neutered female. He is super bouncy and playful so we would be looking for a home with older teenagers that are used to bigger dogs. Dustin can be aloof when meeting new people but once he knows you his real character shines through, watch out for zoomies. He loves toys, will play tug and will run after toys but hasn’t quite mastered bringing them back! In his previous home he was left for a few hours, but this will need building back up slowly.

Eleanor, a 2 years old female Crossbreed available for adoption from Pawprints Dog Rescue in Warwickshire

Pawprints Dog Rescue

Eleanor

Warwickshire
SexFemale
Age2 years
BreedCrossbreed

Eleanor is a young and playful girl who is looking for her perfect family to have a home of her very own. Unfortunately, she has been overlooked for over a year…. And we really don’t understand why. Eleanor is a joy to be around; staff and volunteers love spending time with her both off lead in our secure areas and taking her offsite with her canine friends. Eleanor is a beautiful, fun girl who honestly is the best of all worlds – she loves to play and is very active, she would be an amazing adventure buddy to do long walks or hikes, she has an amazing brain and can learn anything you ask her too, and she is also a massive snuggle bug who after using her brain will cuddle up to you and have a long snooze. Who can resist that?! She loves to play, loves toys and loves if you chase her around! She is a gentle girl who works hard to walk nicely on the lead and doesn’t snatch treats. She is looking for a home with over 15-year-olds who are used to larger breeds. Eleanor does enjoy playing with other dogs but having spent a while in kennels she lacks some social skills, although there is potential for her to live with an established dog, we think her perfect match would be an older (but still playful) similar sized male dog. But we also know she would thrive on her own being the centre of attention but would like to go for playdates and have walking friends. Her ideal home would have access to some nice quiet walks to start with until she settled with you. She also does love the car so will happily join you for walks further afield. Eleanor can be wary of men, especially in her own space – but this is something we have been working on and has gotten a lot better over her time with us. She is happy meeting new men both offsite and onsite in out paddocks now, it may take a couple of extra treats to build that positive association, but she can happily be around, be walked by and play with men now. But will need a family willing to continue this training and a family happy to manage careful visitor interactions.

Gregor, a 1 year old male Siberian Husky available for adoption from Pawprints Dog Rescue in Warwickshire

Pawprints Dog Rescue

Gregor

Warwickshire
SexMale
Age1 year
BreedSiberian Husky

Meet Gregor, a stunning 1-year-old Husky with a fun personality and plenty of energy to share. This handsome boy is lively and affectionate and loves his walks. He does show some worries around unfamiliar places, we think this may be due to him not having been out and about very much, but once you show him the ropes his confidence grows. You may just need to take your time introducing him to busier areas. Gregor already knows some basic cues including sit, down, and paw, he likes his food and will engage in training when we have something tasty. Like many young Huskies, he can be strong on the lead and is only just beginning to learn how to walk nicely, so he’ll need adopters who are committed to continuing his training and helping him develop good manners out and about. Around other dogs, Gregor has been vocal, which we currently believe is due to frustration and excitement, but he needs some further assessments. Because of this, he is currently looking for a home with no other pets so his new family can focus on his training and settling in. Gregor could live with dog confident teenagers who understand that he can become bouncy and jump up when excited. Despite his energetic side, he is also incredibly affectionate and loves nothing more than cuddling up with his humans after a busy day. This beautiful boy is looking for an active home that understands the Husky breed and can give him the time, exercise, training, and love he deserves. In return, Gregor will make a loyal, entertaining, and very loving companion. We will be looking for a family able to be around all the time to settle Gregor in until time alone can be slowly built up. We think he would benefit to live somewhere with his own garden, but it is not a must.

Jojo, a 6 years old female German Shepherd available for adoption from Pawprints Dog Rescue in Warwickshire

Pawprints Dog Rescue

Jojo

Warwickshire
SexFemale
Age6 years
BreedGerman Shepherd

Jojo is a beautiful small-sized German Shepherd looking for a quiet home where she can truly relax. At 6 years old, she has a gentle and affectionate nature and absolutely loves fuss and attention from the people she knows and trusts. Jojo would be best suited to an adult-only home, where she can enjoy a calm and predictable environment. She is not a high-energy Shepherd, but she does love her daily walks and walks beautifully on the lead. She also loves her toys and will love to run around in the garden playing. She settles well in the home and can be left for a few hours. Jojo is reactive around other dogs and is currently walked wearing a muzzle as a precaution. However, she is making really positive progress with her ongoing training and can be carefully introduced to calm dogs. Her future family will need to continue with this training; Jojo loves to learn new things too and is super smart. Ideally, Jojo would love a more rural setting with access to peaceful walking areas, although if her owners are happy to drive her to quiet walking areas to begin with then location isn’t too important. Jojo unfortunately seems to have been overlooked for some time and has been in our care for over a year, and we really cannot see why because she is a joy to be around. The staff and volunteers love to take her out for her offsite walks or play and cuddle with her in our onsite areas. Please consider adopting or even fostering Jojo so she can be in a loving home environment – she won’t take up much space she really is a tiny sized shep!

She is crate trained and muzzle trained. She has no special dietary requirements. He could happily live with children aged 12 and over who understand when he needs a little downtime after his adventures and who won’t mind his size – he doesn’t always realise it himself! While Romeo cannot live with another dog in the home, he is able to socialise with dogs out on walks. He can sometimes become vocal around other dogs because he gets excited and wants to play, so his new owners will need to continue working on his lead manners and social skills. Romeo would benefit from continuing his positive training to help him stay calm and focused when passing or greeting other dogs. He is still young, eager to learn, and has lots of potential with the right guidance. In the office environment, Romeo has been clean and house trained and has been able to be left alone for an hour which could be built up slowly built up once he builds confidence in the home. As with any rescue dog, he may need a little time and patience to fully settle into his new home, but he is a clever boy who responds well to consistency. Romeo has so much love, character, and companionship to offer, and whoever welcomes him into their family will gain a loyal best friend who will make every day brighter.
