About Pawprints Dog Rescue

Pawprints Dog Rescue began as a local community initiative in Rugby, offering advice on responsible dog ownership and helping reunite lost dogs with their owners. After discovering that many healthy strays were being euthanised due to a lack of rescue spaces, the group evolved into a dedicated dog rescue charity in 2011. Pawprints focuses on saving at-risk dogs from local pounds, providing veterinary treatment, rehabilitation, and foster-based care before rehoming. Funded entirely through fundraising and public support, the charity is not breed selective and continues to rescue hundreds of dogs that might otherwise have been put to sleep.

Annie, a Unknown old female Cocker Spaniel X Poodle available for adoption from Pawprints Dog Rescue in Warwickshire

Pawprints Dog Rescue

Annie

Warwickshire
SexFemale
AgeUnknown
BreedCocker Spaniel X Poodle

Annie is a young, active girl who is just learning how fun the world is. Even after not having the best start to life she is full of energy and loves to explore and adores human company, she will be looking for a family where someone can be around most of the time to start with until she has settled in as she does struggle alone at the moment. Ideally the home would have its own secure garden in case she needs a little time to get used to going out for walks as she hasn’t been used to the outside world. We think she would suit a family with older children as she can get worried by loud noises and quick movements. Annie could share her home with another similar sized dog; she loves to play and has not shown any problems around beds toys or treats but may need to learn that she cannot play constantly. Annie has stolen the hearts of all the staff and volunteers she has met and once shes settled into the home we think she will be so much fun. She has had very little training beforehand so is learning all the basics and this will need continuing in the home as well as refreshing on toilet training so needs a family willing to do this. We feel Annie could also share her home with a cat, as long as scent swaps and an introduction goes ok. If you are after a playful, lively girl and the time to put in to train and socialise her – then look no further!

Barbara, a 3 years old female Bulldog available for adoption from Pawprints Dog Rescue in Warwickshire

Pawprints Dog Rescue

Barbara

Warwickshire
SexFemale
Age3 years
BreedBulldog

Barbara of course is looking for a forever home but would also benefit from some time out of kennels in a foster home too. Barbara is a gorgeous girl looking for a quiet family that will understand she needs time and patience to get to know you and show off her cheeky side. We don’t have any history on where she came from but with how scared she was on arrival and how long it has taken to build bonds with her we feel she has either had very little human interaction or interaction that hasn’t been very nice. She is shy around handling if she doesn’t know you, but when she starts to trust she does enjoy a fuss. We are continuing to train her, using desensitization to touch and to the harness. She does walk nicely even just on her collar though. Barbara does have some arthritis in her spine and legs, but she is on medication for this which has helped a lot, so will need to be on this long term. We are looking for an adult only home, ideally with people that may have some experience with a nervous dog who have the time to work with Barbara and will be able to come to the rescue multiple times before she comes home to make sure she is comfortable. A secure, quiet garden is also a must as she may need some time to settle into the home before going out for walks. An ideal home would have a separate/safe area for Barbara if unknown visitors came to the house so she can have her own space if she becomes overwhelmed. Barbara has really started to shine with us and she has a happy, playful personality when she shows it. She loves toys and loves to zoom around off-lead, throwing toys in the air as she goes. If you have the space in your heart for a dog that needs some extra work, then we truly feel Barbara is right for you and will be an amazing companion!

Billy, a 3 years old male Staffordshire Bull Terrier available for adoption from Pawprints Dog Rescue in Warwickshire

Pawprints Dog Rescue

Billy

Warwickshire
SexMale
Age3 years
BreedStaffordshire Bull Terrier

Billy is a handsome boy who is looking for a patient family able to help his confidence grow. We don’t have much history on Billy, but it seems he has not been exposed to much in the past and can become a bit over the top at times. We are working on this with him, and he is making improvements every day. Billy loves being around other dogs but is currently to be the only dog in the home due to being neutered recently, but he will share his walks with canine friends. Once you build a relationship Billy will happily enjoy some fuss and loves an ear massage! We are looking for an adult only home, so Billy has a quiet place to take himself should he feel overwhelmed. Billy would like a big cosy bed to curl up into, and a nice garden he can explore. He has so much love to give to a family and will be an amazing addition to the home. We would like a family interested to meet him a few times or have a few home visits to build his confidence so will be looking for a home close to our Rescue.

Chilli, a 8 years old male Pug available for adoption from Pawprints Dog Rescue in Warwickshire

Pawprints Dog Rescue

Chilli

Warwickshire
SexMale
Age8 years
BreedPug

Chilli is an older boy who is looking for a family to look after him in his golden years, he still really enjoys going for walks and having a play but then will like to have a good nap – on your lap if you will let him! When Chilli first came to us, he had a lot of problems with his skin, but with some love, medicated shampoos and medication he is really thriving and feeling much better. He loves human company and will take all the fuss and cuddles on offer but nothing for him beats FOOD! Watch where you put your plates and snacks as he will seek them out! Everyone who meets Chilli instantly falls in love; he is a true happy character and will definitely put a smile on your face. Yes, he is an older boy, but he really does have a lot of life left to offer a new family. He is currently in a foster home where he has settled in really well, he has been toilet trained, able to be left for a few hours and even lives with a rabbit – although he does enjoy having a bark at them.

Dart, a 5 years old male Pocket Bully available for adoption from Pawprints Dog Rescue in Warwickshire

Pawprints Dog Rescue

Dart

Warwickshire
SexMale
Age5 years
BreedPocket Bully

Handsome boy Dart is searching for a place to finally call home, a calm, loving space where he can feel safe, understood, and truly part of the family. He loves spending time with his humans whether that’s relaxing in the garden or quietly keeping you company around the house or joining you on walks. His perfect home would be one where someone is around most of the time, especially to begin with but with patience and reassurance, he can gradually build up to spending short periods alone. He would do best in an adult-only home and a secure garden is important for him too. Out on walks, he’s a happy, enthusiastic boy who can get a little excited at first and pull on the lead, but once he settles into the walk, he relaxes and enjoys himself. He also loves other dogs and is social when out and about, but at home he would prefer to be the only pet. Dart also loves the car and will jump in at any given opportunity so he would love someone that would take him on some adventures! This special boy does have ongoing medical needs and will require long-term pain medication; this will be discussed in detail with anyone offering Dart a home. If you are currently not in a place to adopt but could offer foster care, please also get in touch.

Dustin, a 2 years old male Mastiff available for adoption from Pawprints Dog Rescue in Warwickshire

Pawprints Dog Rescue

Dustin

Warwickshire
SexMale
Age2 years
BreedMastiff

Dustin is a lovable, playful boy who is also super intelligent and loves his training he would love to find an active home with a family wanting to further his training and will enjoy having a big dog in their lives. Dustin does walk well on the lead, but gets excited to see dogs and wants to sniff lots so can be strong when he wants to go somewhere! Dustin could live with another dog; however, he is currently not neutered due to being too young for his size so needs to live with other males or a neutered female. He is super bouncy and playful so we would be looking for a home with older teenagers that are used to bigger dogs. Dustin can be aloof when meeting new people but once he knows you his real character shines through, watch out for zoomies! He loves toys, will play tug and will run after toys but hasn’t quite mastered bringing it back! In his previous home he was left for a few hours, but this will need building back up slowly.

Eleanor, a 2 years old female Crossbreed available for adoption from Pawprints Dog Rescue in Warwickshire

Pawprints Dog Rescue

Eleanor

Warwickshire
SexFemale
Age2 years
BreedCrossbreed

Eleanor is a young and playful girl who is looking for her perfect family to have a home of her very own. Unfortunately, she has been overlooked for over a year…. And we really don’t understand why. Eleanor is a joy to be around; staff and volunteers love spending time with her both off lead in our secure areas and taking her offsite with her canine friends. Eleanor is a beautiful, fun girl who honestly is the best of all worlds – she loves to play and is very active, she would be an amazing adventure buddy to do long walks or hikes, she has an amazing brain and can learn anything you ask her too, and she is also a massive snuggle bug who after using her brain will cuddle up to you and have a long snooze. Who can resist that?! She loves to play, loves toys and loves if you chase her around! She is a gentle girl who works hard to walk nicely on the lead and doesn’t snatch treats. She is looking for a home with over 15-year-olds who are used to larger breeds. Eleanor does enjoy playing with other dogs but having spent a while in kennels she lacks some social skills, although there is potential for her to live with an established dog, we think her perfect match would be an older (but still playful) similar sized male dog. But we also know she would thrive on her own being the centre of attention but would like to go for playdates and have walking friends. Her ideal home would have access to some nice quiet walks to start with until she settled with you. She also does love the car so will happily join you for walks further afield. Eleanor can be wary of men, especially in her own space – but this is something we have been working on and has gotten a lot better over her time with us. She is happy meeting new men both offsite and onsite in out paddocks now, it may take a couple of extra treats to build that positive association, but she can happily be around, be walked by and play with men now. But will need a family willing to continue this training and a family happy to manage careful visitor interactions.

Finn, a 9 years old male Jack Russell Terrier x Chihuahua available for adoption from Pawprints Dog Rescue in Warwickshire

Pawprints Dog Rescue

Finn

Warwickshire
SexMale
Age9 years
BreedJack Russell Terrier x Chihuahua

Finn is a fun, active terrier who although an older boy is still full of beans and will chase a ball for hours and will happily go for walks once settled into the home. Finn needs to be the only dog in the home but can have some walking friends, if they aren’t too bouncy. He recently enjoyed going for an adventure to the garden centre with some of our volunteers who said he could not have been better behaved – he enjoyed sniffing and exploring and happily sat for some nice fusses in the café, he almost fell asleep! Finn may need a little time to settle into a new home but then would love to go on some adventures with his new family – he loves the beach! He is a sweet boy looking for a quiet home with people around most of the time to start with but can be built up to him being left for a few hours. He is currently living his best life in foster as he struggles with life in kennels, he loves the garden to run around and play ball in so his new home will need a secure garden. He enjoys siting on the sofa and have some gentle fuss but does sometimes get himself stuck in uncomfortable positions so is learning to come away from the sofa when nicely asked too. Although small he prefers to get through life on his own terms and would rather not be picked up if possible – however he does allow us to pick him up for the car or vets. If you are looking for a full of character, loving companion then Finn might just be the one for you.

I’m a friendly and lovable girl who enjoys quiet sniffy walks and playing with my toys! I can be a little worried when meeting new people and find female company easier. I would love to find a nice quiet home with a human that I can call my own and who will continue to help build my confidence as I can be a sensitive girl. I struggle a little with the outside world but I am working on this and I am improving on my lead walking and listening to my humans when they give me guidance.

Nala, a 4 years old female White Swiss Shepherd Dog available for adoption from Pawprints Dog Rescue in Warwickshire

Nala has not had the best start in life she needs a family that will be patient with her as she continues to grow and develop. In the home she is such a good girl. She has never been destructive, she is fully toilet trained, can be left for up to 4/5 hours, love people and never shown any aggression towards them. Happy travelling in the car. She is crate trained and muzzle trained. She has no special dietary requirements. She struggles with the outside world and does find general walking overwhelming but is more than happy going to an enclosed field and playing ball in the garden. She would benefit from a home in a quiet area where she can carry on with her training. Romeo, a 2 years old male Lurcher available for adoption from Pawprints Dog Rescue in Warwickshire

Pawprints Dog Rescue

Romeo

Warwickshire
SexMale
Age2 years
BreedLurcher

Romeo is a bundle of joy, who loves a good run around or a long walk and then will happily join you for cuddles on the sofa. He really does not realise quite how long his legs are so is looking for a home with older teenagers who will not mind his exuberant side! He loves to play with toys and is a real joy to be around, he never fails to put a smile on your face! Romeo would like to soak up all the attention himself in his home so is looking for a home with no other pets, however when introduced he loves to have walking friends of all sizes – but doesn’t always enjoy having dogs in his face. He does get frustrated when he cannot greet all dogs so can be vocal, this is something we continue to work on and will pass all guidance on to new adopters. Romeo will be looking for a family that can be around all the time whilst he settles and learns his routine, and he may need a refresher on house training, but we can support any potential adopter with this training.
