About Pendle Dogs

Pendle Dogs in Need was founded in 2013 to help secure loving, permanent homes for dogs in need. The charity operates primarily through foster homes, allowing dogs to be assessed in a home environment before being made available for adoption, with private boarding kennels used only in emergencies. Pendle Dogs in Need does not have a physical centre for visits; instead, all dogs are listed online with detailed information about their needs and the type of home they are seeking. Prospective adopters are encouraged to read each dog’s profile carefully and apply specifically for the dog they feel is the right match. This thoughtful, foster-based approach helps ensure successful, long-term placements for both dogs and adopters.

Bonnie

Lancashire

BreedBull Terrier

Meet Bonnie — our two-year-old English Bull Terrier cross with a personality as big as her ears.Bonnie came to us with several lumps, including one larger one on her side. She’s been incredibly brave, had them all removed, and we’re so pleased to say the results are back all clear. We’re not expecting any further issues, but if anything were to crop up in future, we would of course cover the cost of investigations and treatment and look at what’s going on.Now she’s healed, she’s more than ready to find her forever home.True to her breed type, Bonnie is:,As Stubborn as a mule• Strong on the lead but walks lovely on a headcollar• Comical and full of character• Absolutely brilliant companyShe will make you laugh every single day.Bonnie isn’t good at being left, so she needs a home where someone is around most of the time. She thrives on company and bonds closely with her people. She’s great with other dogs out and about, but we wouldn’t place her to live with another dog as she can be dominant and a bit over-the-top. She’ll do best as the only pet so she can soak up all the attention.Bonnie can be placed with sensible children over 10.BONNIE CAN NOT BE PLACED WITH CATS She’s a proper bull breed girl — loyal, loving, strong-minded and completely devoted once she’s yours.Bonnie has been through her little health scare and come out the other side. Now she just needs her happy ever after.. Experienced home needed. Home check and adoption process applyIf you’re ready for laughter, loyalty and a whole lot of personality, Bonnie might just be your girl ️To offer Bonnie her forever home please fully read all the information on the home page and then fill the online form in.

His ears were crudely chopped off, he has chain scars on his neck and came into our care with a badly broken leg and seriously emaciated. We really can not thank his foster home for all they have done for him over the last four months but sadly it’s just not the right home for him and now he’s fully fit he really needs to find his forever home.Kane is a lovable boy who never showed any negative behaviour even when in lots of pain. He adores his people and soon forms strong bonds. He is clean in the house, crate trained, loves to travel and is making fantastic progress when on his lead.BUT he is boisterous and excitable and needs a strong savvy handler who will continue to work alongside his trainer to ensure we get him easier to handle. Kane is not suitable for a inexperienced home.Ideally Kane would like a home in a quiet area, he will need outside space but this must be fully secure as he is protective of his home and people.Kane can not be placed with children under 10 or any other animals. To offer Kane his forever home please fully read all the information on our home page and fill out the application form on there.

Lady, a Unknown old female Labrador X Collie available for adoption from Pendle Dogs in Lancashire

Lady

Lancashire
SexFemale
AgeUnknown
BreedLabrador X Collie

Lady sadly needs a new home due to her Mum being unable to care for her any more Information from the kennelsBrown Labrador X Collie, Medium in size, DOB – 05/06/2020Up to date with vaccines, Flea and wormer️LOVESSwimming, food in any shape or form.Earning herself a snack (food puzzle games too!) which means she is soo easy to do shaping training with too.Using her nose, Adventures, A cuddle and a fuss, Her bed LikesHer favourite people, Soft toys, Calm and gentle people‍️ Neutral / not bothered by itHaving a bath/shower, Being left at home for periods of time, Travelling in a vehicle DislikesThe dryer after a groom, Being brushed (her mum can!), Boisterous overly playful dogs, Noisy small children that move quickly and are unpredictable, Being on a diet Needs to work on..Her welcoming of new people.. is wary at first but is easily won around with food and routine. As time increases her trust will increase too.Demanding a snack She will take advantage if you let her call the shots especially if you give them ‘for free’ or if you leave the snacks out in nose shot!Lead manners.. she walks ok but it could be better, especially at the start but she walks to heel for food (no surprises)———-Once you crack through the hard exterior that Lady portrays you will see the most loving, sweetest, funniest, sassiest and playful Lady. She is an active dog and is used to two big walks per day or one walk and then using her nose / doing training to chill her out.She is super calm and settled in her kennel. She only barks in her kennel when we are not quick enough to serve her meals She is clean in her kennel and only ever does her business outside.Home life before kennels consisted of just her and her mum. Her mum also had a trusted circle of friends & her mum was able to take her on holidays in the UK and as long as Lady had some distance and no one ‘rushing up to her’ she loved her holidays. However on holidays like Christmas where it would be busy and people were unpredictable or too noisy and excitable she came to spend her holidays with us whilst her mum visited family and friends who lived further away. Please read all the information on our home page and fill out the application form on there to apply.Lady has her trusted doggy friends at home but at the kennels she prefer’d dogs were super calm and quiet who didn’t ’bother her’ and they could happily just share the space and the sniffs.Even though she’s so food obsessed she is gentle with treats and doesn’t rush her dish when you’re placing it down (she has manners!) although if food puzzle toys are too difficult and frustrate her she will take her frustration out on the puzzle Lady had captured the hearts of us all here at Glencoe however none of us are sadly in position to adopt her or long term foster her until her mum is better. We all either have multiple dogs already or young children! Not cat tested No young children.Older calmer teenagers would probably be ok but they must respect her rules. The quieter the home the better.Management would be needed for visitors until she got to know them (baby gates etc)Lady is not used to being crated but her mum says she was never destructive at home and just slept on her bed or on her own blanket on the sofa.Does Lady sound like the dog for you? Please fully read the info on the website www.pendledogs.co.uk and then fill the application form in.

Lenny is doing brilliantly well in his new foster home.He is enjoying the company of their dog and proving to be an easy boy to have around. He does still have quite specific needs when it comes to his forever home.Lenny can not be placed on a home with any resident male humans. He is absolutely fine with male visitors and when meeting him on walks but it’s a big fat no from Lenny when it comes to living with them.Lenny hates noise and lots of comings and goings he requires a calm quiet home where he can sleep for long hours.Lenny can not be left home along, he panics and can cause damage, he loves the car though and will come with you or happily stay with a friend for a few hours no problem.Lenny needs other similar to him dogs to help him settle.Lenny wouldn’t enjoy a home with children and can not be placed with cats.He has so many good points and is such lovely company, he’s sweet gentle and very loving. Walks lovely on his lead and is clean in the home. There must be a home out there who can cope with a older boy (7) and his quirks. He is such a lovely boy!!

Nala, a Unknown old female Crossbreed available for adoption from Pendle Dogs in Lancashire

Nala

Lancashire
SexFemale
AgeUnknown
BreedCrossbreed

A special home needed for a special girl.Nala is a young bully x lurcher who needs a foster/forever home.Nala has a condition calledParoxysmal gluten sensitive dyskinesia and if fed any gluten she has trembling fits. This is very easily controlled with diet and is something we would support with even after adoptionThis is the info from Nalas current home. .“Nala is such a loving dog. She loves to play with toys. Plays fetch with balls. She knows many commands ie. Sit fetch lie down come. She is gentle with her mouth to take treats doesn’t snap. She is quite a bouncy excitable dog but loves nothing more than to cuddle up with you on the sofa. She will sleep almost anywhere she likes. She is crate trained during day when at work. We have managed her seizures to maybe one a month by no gluten and found one type of food that works well. This can be supplied. Stress can also cause seizures. She has been in kennels when we went on holiday and was totally fine there. On a lead she does tend to pull as she gets excited. We use gluten free treats and a squeaky ball to help that. She’s not a fan of rain and wind and absolutely hates having a bath. She loves people never disliked anyone. She follows me round like a shadow even to the bathroom. Only bad thing I can say about her is she snores like a train and can empty a room with her wind. She is chipped and up to date with all her jabs . She honestly is an amazing character.”Nala is looking for a dog free home due to clashes with the other resident dog. Nala is fine when meeting dogs on walks.Nala can be placed with children over 8 but can not be placed with cats.To apply please fill out the form on our homepage.
