About Pennine Pen Animal Rescue

Pennine Pen Animal Rescue CIO was founded in 2001 by Michael Waugh, driven by a lifelong passion for giving abandoned and unwanted animals a second chance at a loving home. What began in a small terraced property in Hathershaw grew steadily, leading to the purchase of its current rescue centre on Honeywell Lane, Oldham, in 2009. Over the years, the charity has continued to develop, modernising its facilities to provide the best possible care for animals while they are in rescue. Registered as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation, Pennine Pen also operates several charity shops across Oldham, which play a vital role in funding its work. The charity’s success is built on the dedication of its staff and volunteers, alongside the ongoing generosity of supporters and the local community.

Lola never expected to be here and for years, she had everything she needed, a warm bed, familiar routines, and most importantly, the person she loved more than anything in the world. But heartbreakingly, Lola’s beloved owner passed away and suddenly the only life she had ever known disappeared. Now this little senior girl finds herself in rescue, confused and frightened, wondering where her person went and why she can not go home. This should have been the time in her life where everything stayed safe, quiet, and familiar. Instead, Lola is starting all over again.Despite everything she has been through, the gentle, loving dog she has always been is still there. She enjoys her slow daily walks and quietly staying close to someone who makes her feel safe. With a little patience and kindness, her sweet personality begins to shine through.Lola does not need much, just a calm home, a soft bed, and someone who will give her the time she needs to trust again. Ideally, someone who is around for most of the day while she settles in.She has previously lived with another dog and has met dogs at the Rescue, so she could potentially share her new home with a calm canine companion after careful introductions.APPOINTMENT ONLY from 1pm – 3pm Monday to SundayRescue Centre Address: Honeywell Lane, Oldham, OL8 2JPParking: Free parking facing the RescuePennine Pen Animal Rescue CIO has been in operation since 2001, serving the needs of the local community of Oldham.
