About Rotherham Dog Rescue

Rotherham Dog Rescue specialises in the rehabilitation of abandoned, abused, and unwanted dogs that need extra understanding and expertise before moving on to their forever homes. The charity is committed to giving every dog the life they deserve, taking as much time as needed to support recovery and build confidence. All dogs are fully neutered, vaccinated, wormed, and microchipped, with thorough home checks carried out to ensure the right match between dog and adopter. Experienced volunteers work closely with the dogs through one-to-one training, supported by an in-house canine psychologist who assesses behaviour and offers ongoing advice before and after adoption. With purpose-built, heated kennels and secure exercise and agility areas, the rescue provides a safe, stimulating environment where dogs can truly thrive.

Dave

Dave is a 2 year old Chihuahua crossbreed who is looking for a new home through no fault of his own. He is an energetic lad and can be quite independent so needs a home that understands the training needs to bond him with his new family. Dave can be quite vocal at first but does enjoy the company of other dogs so would thrive in a home with a calm dog. For his breed Dave is quite a large lad but he's definitely not a lap dog. Oscar is an 11 year old Pomeranian cross Chihuahua and is one of our sanctuary dogs. He gets on well with other dogs and loves his walks but does struggle with being handled so is looking for an extra special home that will understand his limitations. A more rural home with outside space would be beneficial as he is used to lots of freedom outside. A kind, patient and understanding person with an allotment or small holding would be ideal. Oscar would need an adult only home and may be ok with a dog savvy cat.
