American Akita crossbreed White and black 9 Years (approx) Ref: 198/26 AJ is a beautiful Akita cross Staffordshire Bull Terrier who came into our care due to a change in his owner’s circumstances. Since arriving at the centre, he has shown himself to be a sensitive and sometimes nervous boy, but with time, patience, and reassurance, his confidence has grown and he has made lots of friends along the way. AJ can be very nervous around children, so we feel he would be best suited to an adultonly home where he can feel safe and secure. While AJ has made dog friends at the centre, we believe he would thrive most as the only dog in the home, where he can enjoy all the love, attention, and spoiling for himself. Beneath his shy exterior is a truly affectionate and lovable character looking for a calm, relaxed home. He would love a family who can take him on adventures during the day before settling down for cuddles together on the sofa in the evening. I know how to sit (and lots of other commands too!) I may have had a very tough start to my life, but I refuse to let my past define me! The wonderful team at Millbrook have been helping me learn how to trust again, and I have made massive strides. I am a brave, resilient boy who only has three legs, but that doesn't slow me down! I am just looking for a special family to help me write my next, best chapter.Once I know you and trust you, I am an absolute lovebug! My love is full-on—I’m talking enthusiastic greetings, big energy, and total devotion. Because I can be a bit bouncy when I'm expressing my affection, I need a home with older, dog-savvy teenage children who can handle my joyful outbursts.I can still be a little wary of new people when we are out and about around the centre. Because of this, I am looking for patient adopters who have experience with nervous dogs and are excited to continue working on my confidence and training. Trust me, the reward of winning my heart is entirely worth it!The Only Pet: I am a social guy and enjoy meeting other dogs out on walks, but my play style is very "full-on." I would be happiest as the only pet in the home, but I'd love a solid circle of walking doggy friends!Exercise Needs: Having three legs means I need to manage my fitness carefully. I will need a family who can help me build up to more frequent exercise gradually, making sure I don't push myself too far. I may also need a ramp at home and for the car.Patient & Experienced Hands: My perfect match will understand body language, know how to manage a sensitive dog in public, and be willing to give me the time and space I need to settle in.Arnold with need his own private and secure garden where he can enjoy offlead play. She is a Shepherd/Akita cross and came to us from another independent RSPCA branch where she was very much loved but after two years of searching, they weren't able to find her forever home so we're hoping we can change that. Ava struts around like she owns the place, greets every day with enthusiasm, and is absolutely bursting with character. She's loving, playful, sweet, and loves life, with a sprinkle of aloofness, in true Akita fashion.

French Bulldog black 2 Years (approx) Ref: P2026006 Bear is a handsome 2½yearold French Bulldog who came into our care through the inspectorate and is now ready to find a loving family of his own. This young boy is full of energy, character, and affection. He absolutely loves other dogs and is happiest when making new canine friends and enjoying a good play session. Bear can be a little shy when meeting new people for the first time, but with a little patience and kindness, he soon shows his friendly, loving nature and forms strong bonds with those around him. Bear is looking for a home that will give him the time and understanding he needs to settle into a new environment. Once he feels safe and secure, he is a wonderful companion who will reward you with plenty of love and loyalty. He can be left alone for short periods and could potentially live with another dog, subject to successful introductions at the centre. Bear may also be suitable to live with sensible secondary schoolaged children and above. To help keep him comfortable, Bear currently receives ear drops twice a month to maintain good ear health and cleanliness. Staffordshire Bull Terrier crossbreed Brindle and white 7 Years (approx) Ref: 58/26 Beau is a beautiful, bouncy Staffy cross Lurcher with a big personality and an even bigger heart. He came into our care under very sad circumstances, having been handed over to an inspector after being kept in a crate for most of his time and not receiving enough food. When Beau arrived, he was extremely underweight and had caused serious damage to his own tail. His condition was so poor that he required hospitalisation before joining us at the centre, and sadly his tail had to be amputated. Despite everything he has been through, Beau has shown incredible resilience. Since arriving at the centre, he has truly come out of his shell and is beginning to enjoy life again. Beau has made lots of friends during his time with us. He is friendly with people, enjoys the company of other dogs, and absolutely loves getting out on adventures. He’s a clever boy who is very foodmotivated, which makes training both fun and rewarding. Beau is now looking for a loving home that will give him the patience, understanding, and affection he deserves. After such a difficult start in life, he is ready to be cherished and spoiled. DISCLAIMER: Please read Beetle’s story very carefully as we are looking for a very specific home for him!Beetle is a Borsky breed (Siberian Husky and Border Collie cross). Due to this cross, it means that Beetle is a high maintenance breed. They are highly intelligent, extremely energetic, loyal but can be very stubborn. He requires an active family, a lot of mental stimulation (enrichment, training) and an experienced handler. Beetle may look more like a Collie, however, his temperament is more Husky. He’s vocal and full of attitude which although part of his charm, can be misunderstood by inexperienced dog handlers. Therefore we are looking for a home where the family have previous Husky experience. Beetle is a strapping, handsome, young male (approximately 2 years of age), so his potential adopters will need to be physically fit as he can be strong when he sees something of interest. However, he does have the potential to walk nice on lead, mostly in quiet areas (his favourite).While Beetle has been with us at the centre, he has had lots of training. He’s very curious and has walked out with some of the dogs at the centre. When meeting other dogs, it can be overwhelming for him and he can be intense and vocal when first meeting, but will settle after he calms. Beetle may go with another dog, however, they will need to be calm and able to handle Beetle's high and boisterous energy. He will not be allowed to go with cats or small mammals. Although Beetle can come off as intense, all he needs most is socialisation. He’s very curious about the world around him and needs a confident and adventurous family to show and teach him about new experiences (all in a positive and supportive manner). While Beetle has been at the centre, he hasn’t been happy in kennels. He is currently on behaviour medication to help him cope with the stresses of kennels and his potential adopters will need to continue and wean him off appropriately with the help of vet advise. More information will be provided upon request.Beetle has some guarding behaviours when it comes to his toys, which he loves very much. He’s also very independent and will only accept touch and attention on his terms. When he does want that human interaction, he can be a very loving, loyal and affectionate companion. With this in mind We are looking for an adult only home, no children (living or visiting the home) under the age of 16 years.

Bell and Buster share a very special bond, so we are looking to rehome them together. They are both lovable dogs who enjoy attention, walks and playtime, with Buster being the more confident and calmer of the two.Bell can be reactive to other dogs on walks, which then causes Buster to react too, although Buster will happily ignore dogs when walked without her. Despite enjoying attention, Buster also has a soft side and loves taking his teddy to bed with him.Due to their age, Bell and Buster would benefit from a quieter home environment and will need someone around most of the time while they settle into their new home.
