Beetlejuice, a 2 years old male Borzoi available for adoption from RSPCA in Lancashire

RSPCA

Beetlejuice

Lancashire
SexMale
Age2 years
BreedBorzoi

DISCLAIMER: Please read Beetle’s story very carefully as we are looking for a very specific home for him!Beetle is a Borsky breed (Siberian Husky and Border Collie cross). Due to this cross, it means that Beetle is a high maintenance breed. They are highly intelligent, extremely energetic, loyal but can be very stubborn. He requires an active family, a lot of mental stimulation (enrichment, training) and an experienced handler. Beetle may look more like a Collie, however, his temperament is more Husky. He’s vocal and full of attitude which although part of his charm, can be misunderstood by inexperienced dog handlers. Therefore we are looking for a home where the family have previous Husky experience. Beetle is a strapping, handsome, young male (approximately 2 years of age), so his potential adopters will need to be physically fit as he can be strong when he sees something of interest. However, he does have the potential to walk nice on lead, mostly in quiet areas (his favourite). While Beetle has been with us at the centre, he has had lots of training. He’s very curious and has walked out with some of the dogs at the centre. When meeting other dogs, it can be overwhelming for him and he can be intense and vocal when first meeting, but will settle after he calms. Beetle may go with another dog, however, they will need to be calm and able to handle Beetle's high and boisterous energy. He will not be allowed to go with cats or small mammals. Although Beetle can come off as intense, all he needs most is socialisation. He’s very curious about the world around him and needs a confident and adventurous family to show and teach him about new experiences (all in a positive and supportive manner). While Beetle has been at the centre, he hasn’t been happy in kennels. He is currently on behaviour medication to help him cope with the stresses of kennels and his potential adopters will need to continue and wean him off appropriately with the help of vet advise. More information will be provided upon request.Beetle has some guarding behaviours when it comes to his toys, which he loves very much. He’s also very independent and will only accept touch and attention on his terms. When he does want that human interaction, he can be a very loving, loyal and affectionate companion. With this in mind We are looking for an adult only home, no children (living or visiting the home) under the age of 16 years.

Bentley, a 1 year old male Lurcher available for adoption from RSPCA in Suffolk

RSPCA

Bentley

Suffolk
SexMale
Age1 year
BreedLurcher

Bentley came into our care after he was transferred to us from another centre. We sadly do not know much about his past life before arriving into our care, but since being with us he has shown to be an affectionate, playful boy who loves being in the company of his favourite humans and zooming around our field with his toys.He is a clever boy in his adolescent era so will also benefit from an active home that can provide him with the physical and mental stimulation he needs, alongside some further basic training to guide him in becoming a well mannered, confident dog. He has shown that he can get overwhelmed at times so needs owners who are willing to take things at his pace and be patient with him. This poor boy hasn’t had a good start in life, having spent half of his short life in kennels already. This has taken a big toll of his separation related anxiety and is therefore looking for a home that has at least one family member at home all the time, who can gradually teach him its okay to be left for short periods. He can sometimes lack manners around other dogs so will benefit from a home that can provide further socialising once he has settled into his new home. For this reason we feel he is better suited to be the only dog in the home, as well as his want to have all the attention to himself!Bentley is always happy to see you and will greet you with a full body and tail wag. He will make a great addition to the home and will provide you loyalty, fun and affection in return.Do you have space in your life for this wonderful boy?

Biscuit, a 1 year old male Poodle available for adoption from RSPCA in Nottinghamshire

RSPCA

Biscuit

Nottinghamshire
SexMale
Age1 year
BreedPoodle

Biscuit is a gentle and sensitive boy who is still learning about the world around him. While he can find new people and unfamiliar situations a little overwhelming, he is already beginning to show signs of growing confidence with calm, patient handling. As he starts to feel safe, Biscuit slowly comes out of his shell and shows a softer side. He enjoys his comforts, especially his cosy bed, and loves playing with his toys.Human interaction is still quite new to Biscuit, so he will need understanding owners who are happy to let him take things at his own pace and build trust in his own time.He has a relaxed approach to food and prefers to graze rather than rush his meals. Biscuit is comfortable around other dogs, and could live with a calm, friendly companion who will give him space and reassurance.Having never experienced life in a home before, Biscuit is right at the beginning of his journey. He is currently learning to walk on a lead and will need support with all aspects of training, including house training and basic commands. A secure garden will be important while he settles and learns.Biscuit is looking for experienced, patient owners who can offer him a quiet, understanding home and the time he needs to continue building his confidence. With gentle guidance and ongoing socialisation, he has so much potential to develop into a loving and rewarding companion.

Female9 years oldArrived 21st November (125 days ago)Fostered in WilmslowLog number : 01612123We realise not everyone is in a position to adopt a companion, so why not take a look at our virtual adoption scheme …..Bonnie has a heart full of affection and a spirit that’s still very much “young at heart.”Bonnie had been left behind in a property, with no food or water, her only source was toilet water. She was riddled with fleas, her skin was in a terrible state and she had ear infections. After lots of treatment including medicated baths, medication and loving care at Chesterfield RSPCA branch since September, she was transferred in November to a lovely foster home to continue her journey.Bonnie – Your Future Furry CompanionMeet Bonnie, a lovable and affectionate dog looking for her forever home! This sweet girl is ready to fill your life with cuddles and joy. Known for her charming personality, Bonnie is always thrilled to see you, greeting you with tail wags and wet kisses.Traits & PersonalityAffectionate Companion: Bonnie thrives on love and affection. She adores cuddling up next to you or even in your lap, making her the perfect buddy for anyone looking for warmth and companionship.Sociable Nature: Bonnie loves all people and gets along well with other dogs. However, she has a strong protective instinct regarding her food, so she would be happiest as the sole dog in the household.Laid-Back Lifestyle: Now that she’s a bit older, Bonnie enjoys her beauty sleep and will happily lounge by your side on lazy afternoons. Why Bonnie is the Right MatchIf you are looking for a loyal friend and a loving companion, Bonnie is the perfect fit. She promises endless snuggles and unwavering loyalty, eager to be your cuddle buddy through thick and thin. If you’re ready to open your heart and home to this wonderful girl, Bonnie can’t wait to meet you! She’s medium-sized. She’s ready to join a home where she’s valued every single day. Ideally, she would like one that’s pet free and where children are at secondary school age or older. She is strong on the lead and pulls. We believe she’s spayed, she has a little lump on her right side, top of front leg that is not of concern.Let’s give Bonnie the loving home she deserves! Bonnie, a 2 years old female Staffordshire Bull Terrier available for adoption from RSPCA in Lancashire

RSPCA

Bonnie

Lancashire
SexFemale
Age2 years
BreedStaffordshire Bull Terrier

Bonnie is a bright and bubbly young staffy-cross on the look for her forever home! At 1.5 years old, Bonnie is full of energy. She absolutely loves to play with toys, especially the squeaky kind, and will happily keep herself entertained with a good game. Long walks are also one of her favourite things, and she walks well on the lead.Bonnie can be very excitable, especially when meeting new people, so ongoing training to help her stay calm will really benefit her. She’s already been doing some dog socialisation work here, which has been going well, but will need to be continued in the home.Whilst in foster Bonnie is clean in the home. Bonnie is a sweet and affectionate girl who thrives on attention and cuddles, but she can be a little sensitive to loud noises, so she’s looking for a calm and understanding home. She would suit an active, adult-only household where she can continue her training and enjoy plenty of enrichment and playtime. We would recommend her being the only animal in the household while she is improving with her socialisation. Children would need to be over the age of 15+, as Bonnie can be boisterous. If you’re looking for a fun-loving companion to join you on long walks and keep you entertained with her playful personality, Bonnie might just be your perfect match!

Boris, a 10 years old male Greyhound available for adoption from RSPCA in Lancashire

RSPCA

Boris

Lancashire
SexMale
Age10 years
BreedGreyhound

Hello My name is Boris and I am a 10-year-old greyhound looking for a comfy retirement home to call my own.I’m a lovely, gentle boy who walks beautifully on the lead and enjoys getting out for my little adventures and sniffing all the interesting smells. After my walk, my favourite job is finding a nice comfortable bed to curl up in… I do take my relaxing duties very seriously! I could possibly live with another calm dog, depending on how we get on when we meet. I would be best suited to a home with children 12 years and over who understand that sometimes I just like to relax and enjoy a quiet life.My friends here aren’t sure if I’m fully house trained, but they will happily help guide my new family while I settle in.I can find it a little difficult being left on my own and can suffer with separation anxiety, so I would really love a home where someone is around most of the time to keep me company and help me feel safe.If you think you could offer me a loving home (and maybe a comfortable bed to call my own), I would love to meet you. Love,Boris

Boss, a 1 year old male Lurcher available for adoption from RSPCA in Nottinghamshire

RSPCA

Boss

Nottinghamshire
SexMale
Age1 year
BreedLurcher

Boss came into our care as a stray, so unfortunately we don’t know anything about his background and he may not have lived in a home environment before. He can be quite timid with new people and in new situations, but once he feels safe and begins to trust you, he really comes out of his shell. He becomes lively, affectionate and will actively seek attention, often coming to sit next to you when he wants some fuss. Underneath his worries, he is generally a laid-back boy who enjoys company.Boss will need experienced owners who understand nervous dogs and have the time to continue his training. When walked in quieter areas he does walk nicely on his collar and lead, however when taken off site into the village he becomes overwhelmed by traffic and shows fear behaviours. His confidence is growing with us, but this will need to be built up slowly and positively in his new home.Boss would like someone at home most of the time initially while he settles. Any time left alone will need to be introduced very gradually to prevent frustration and anxiety.Boss will need patient, understanding owners who are prepared to give him time to adjust and continue building his confidence. In the right home, with the right support, he has the potential to make a really lovely companion.
