About Scottish SPCA

Scottish SPCA is Scotland’s national animal welfare charity, working to protect and improve the lives of animals since 1839. The organisation rescues injured, neglected, and abused animals, carries out investigations, and has legal powers to enforce animal welfare law. Alongside rescue work, the Scottish SPCA provides veterinary care, rehabilitation, and behavioural support to prepare domestic animals for adoption or fostering, and to return wildlife safely to their natural habitats. Guided by a long-term vision to make Scotland the best place in the world for animals to live, the charity continues to address modern challenges such as rising costs, exploitation, and environmental pressures through advocacy, care, and enforcement.

Bear is a fun loving youngster who enjoys interacting with the staff in the centre. His favourite time of the day is play time. If he could choose one toy to play with he will always head straight for a rope toy and always want someone to play with him.Bear enjoys going out for a walk and is always keen to explore his surroundings. Meeting new people for some β€˜Bear time’ when he is out and about is just an added bonus. This loveable lad is still very much an adolescent and his new owner will need to continue with his ongoing training. This will ensure he becomes a well mannered part of the family. We think that Bear could live with another dog, subject to a successful meet at the centre.Apply to adopt a pet like Bear ...Bear is a fun loving youngster who enjoys interacting with the staff in the centre. His favourite time of the day is play time. Bella is a beautiful big girl who forms a great bond with her favourite people. She is lots of fun to be around and is a real love bug! Bella is a strong girl and will need an owner who is comfortable with her strength. She was nervous when she first arrived in our care, however she has been doing extremely well with her training. Bella's new owner will need to continue her training in her new home to help her gain confidence and experience more of the world. She has come on in leaps and bounds since arriving with us and we are confident she will thrive with continued training. Boston, a 8 years old male Staffordshire Bull Terrier available for adoption from Scottish SPCA in Scotland

Scottish SPCA

Boston

Scotland
SexMale
Age8 years
BreedStaffordshire Bull Terrier

Boston is a lovely older gentleman looking to find his forever home! Boston came into our care through no fault of his own, and he has not been coping well in kennels. He is an anxious, but friendly older boy, who could use the help of new owners to finally settle into a home. Despite his age, Boston is a very bouncy boy, who adores going for walks and running after a ball (or two)! Therefore, he is looking for an active, but quiet home, where he can build a routine and get all the stimulation he needs. Boston walks very well on the lead - he slightly pulls when on the walk due to excitement, but it is very manageable. Although Boston doesn't mind dogs while out on walks, he tends to get a bit fed up if other dogs are in his space. For that reason, he is best suited as the only pet in the home so he can soak up all the attention! Could you offer Boston the 2nd chance he's been waiting for?Apply to adopt a pet like Boston...Boston is a lovely older gentleman looking to find his forever home! This sweet boy is looking for a home to fill with joy.Buddy is fully muzzle trained using positive reinforcement to ensure he can enjoy more freedom when out on his on-lead walks. When Buddy is introduced to new people at his own pace, he can build on trust and develop a positive relationship, but he struggles with too much pressure when it comes to strangers and other animals. He enjoys wearing his muzzle and this means that when out on his adventures, his adopters can feel more secure should something startle him or cause him too much stress.Buddy would prefer to be the only animal in an adult only home to get the 1-2-1 time he deserves with his human companions. He can become interactive and enjoys training and learning new things which also helps build on the relationship he has with his handlers.Apply to adopt a pet like Buddy...This sweet boy is looking for a home to fill with joy.Buddy is fully muzzle trained using positive reinforcement to ensure he can enjoy more freedom when out on his on-lead walks.
