EssexMeet Cairo – A Loyal and Loving Companion Looking for a Quiet Home Cairo (formerly named Sreta) was born on the streets of Serbia alongside his brother. At around six months old, they were picked up by the local pound for neutering, and both later found homes in the UK. Sadly, Cairo has returned to our care through no fault of his own, and we’re now seeking the perfect forever home for this gentle, sensitive soul. ⸻ About Cairo • Breed/Size: Labrador-sized mixed breed • Age: Young adult • Health: Fit and healthy – no known medical issues • Temperament: Affectionate, obedient, loyal, but nervous and easily startled • Training: House-trained, travels well in the car, knows multiple commands, good lead walker with reliable recall ⸻ Cairo’s Personality Cairo is a sweet and intelligent boy who has made huge progress since his early days as a fearful street pup. He’s come a long way thanks to the dedication of his previous home, where he learned to trust, gained confidence, and developed into a well-mannered companion. He bonds quickly with people and thrives on connection — he’ll follow his person loyally and quietly enjoy their company. He’s obedient and eager to please, and he even enjoys road trips and campervan adventures! ⸻ What Cairo Needs Cairo needs a calm, adult-only home in a quiet area, ideally rural or semi-rural, with someone who understands nervous or sensitive dogs. While he’s social with other dogs, we believe he would benefit from being the only dog in the home, where he can get full attention and support. He can live with cats, but only with dog-savvy cats who are not reactive or fearful. If the cat is confident and calm, so is Cairo. But if the cat runs — he will chase. ⸻ ️ Important Considerations • Children: Cairo cannot live with children. He has previously nipped two children when startled. While no injuries occurred, this behavior must be taken seriously. • Visitors with Children: Can potentially be managed with baby gates and planning, but ideally, Cairo would thrive in a child-free home without visiting kids. • Overwhelm & Reactivity: Cairo can become overwhelmed and snappy in busy or stressful situations. However, he is muzzle trained, and handles wearing it well when needed. ⸻ The Ideal Home • Quiet and calm (preferably countryside) • No children (including no visiting children) • Dog-experienced owner who can read and respect boundaries • Either pet-free or with a confident, dog-savvy cat • Someone looking for a loyal companion who will enjoy relaxed walks, quiet time, and being by your side ⸻ Final Word Cairo is a beautiful, gentle soul who’s come so far and is ready to flourish in the right home.
