About South East Dog Rescue

South East Dog Rescue is a volunteer-run, no-kill dog rescue and rehoming centre founded in 2009 and based in Dartford, Kent. The charity rescues dogs across the UK, with a strong focus on saving dogs at risk of euthanasia in council pounds, as well as supporting owners who can no longer care for their pets. Known for helping some of the most vulnerable welfare cases, South East Dog Rescue provides rehabilitation, veterinary care, and, where needed, lifelong sanctuary for dogs unable to cope in traditional home environments. All dogs are neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped before adoption, and the charity offers lifetime rescue backup, relying entirely on public donations to continue its work.

BreedBulldog x Mastiff

My name is Bandit and I am 7 year old Boxer x Bullmastiff. I found myself on death row in a pound due to being an unclaimed stray.. most likely dumped by my previous owner.I do have elbow dysplasia which is controlled well with medication.I am a big strong boy who thinks he can sit on your lap like a chihuahua! I love a bum scratch and am always perfect patient at the vets.I love to be loved and have lots of love to give my new family!!I have no experience with children and am looking for an adult only home without visiting children.I cannot live with cats or small furries!I get on well with some dogs but not all, and so will need a home as the only dog.I walk well on the lead during my walks but am very strong initially or when excited so will need a fit and strong person to walk me. I can't do marathons but a couple of ½ hour walks a day would suit me well.I am looking for a quiet home with calm adults who enjoy a brindle snuggle buddy!

I did not have great puppy years which left me untrusting of men and small children. I do take quickly to doggy people and am very friendly but can be timid with some men until I get to know them. I am looking for someone who has experience with rescue dogs, a quiet home and someone with lots of love!!I have lived with similar sized female dog and could live with a female dog in my new home or as the only dog.I am neutered, microchipped and up to date with vaccinesI am a calm dog who loves sitting at his owners feet and just chilling but love my walks and I walk well on the lead. I also really love being groomed and going to a pamper parlour for a bath, hair brush and nail trim.I am house trained and travel well in the car but am not a fan of the vets!If you would like to offer me a place in your heart and your home, please use the link below to complete an application form

Layla – Ready for Her Forever Home After everything she has been through, our beautiful Layla is finally ready to find the home she truly deserves.Layla came into our care needing quite a bit of help. Despite all of this, she has taken everything in her stride and never once lost her loving, happy nature. Great with other dogs (has lived with both small and large dogs) Would happily live with another dog Brilliant having her eye drops appliedShe has been neutered, microchipped and vaccinated. We would ideally love Layla to go to a home with bulldog experience, or someone who understands the needs of the breed.More than anything, Layla just needs a home where she will be loved, understood, and treated with the care she has always deserved. She has been let down in the past, but her future can be everything it should be.If you think you could offer Layla the home she’s been waiting for, please fill in the adoption form using the link below

Trevor

Kent
SexMale
Age6 years
BreedShih Tzu

He has been neutered, vaccinated and microchipped.Trevor is looking for a calm, experienced home with confident owners who understand how to give him space and build trust at his pace. He cannot live with children. He is also unable to live with cats.He will do well in a quiet, structured home without lots of visitorsWhen he first arrived, he was very frightened of people, and while he has come a long way, he can still be a little cautious when meeting new faces. Trevor’s PersonalityOnce Trevor knows you, he truly shines. He becomes an incredibly affectionate, cuddly little companion who loves nothing more than snuggling up beside you in the evenings. He forms strong bonds and is wonderfully loyal to his people. Social LifeTrevor absolutely adores other dogs and would thrive in a home with a playful canine companion. He’s currently in foster with other dogs and loves having a friend to play with and learn from.️ Things to Know • Trevor can be wary of new people and may nip if approached too quickly • He needs patient owners committed to continuing his trust-building journey • He can be a bit unsure about formal handling and may give a small grumble, but he is responsive and ultimately cooperative • Best suited to a structured, understanding home environment The Good Stuff • Very loving and cuddly once bonded • Great recall off-lead • Playful and social with other dogs • A genuinely good boy who wants to pleaseTrevor needs a home who initially respect his space, and will be his advocate in keeping him safe around strangers, ensuring well meaning people out on walks or visitors do not try to stroke him before he is ready. Once he bonds, he bonds firmly without exception....but this takes time. He needs people who understand he has been traumatised in situations before coming into rescue, and he needs patience. Once you gain his love, you will have a best friend for life.Trevor was initially unable to cope with being groomed / shaved but his foster parents have worked incredibly hard on this and he now allows those he trusts to groom and clip him.Trevor does not like the vets! But his foster parents have worked hard with muzzle training which will be needed at vet appointments.Trevor is a dog who needs understanding and compassion...and in return he will become your absolute best friend and lap warmer!Trevor is being fostered in EssexIf you could offer Trevor a place in your heart and your home, and you have truly digested all of the above information and are committed to being his safe space...then please use the link below to complete an application form
