About South East Dog Rescue

South East Dog Rescue is a volunteer-run, no-kill dog rescue and rehoming centre founded in 2009 and based in Dartford, Kent. The charity rescues dogs across the UK, with a strong focus on saving dogs at risk of euthanasia in council pounds, as well as supporting owners who can no longer care for their pets. Known for helping some of the most vulnerable welfare cases, South East Dog Rescue provides rehabilitation, veterinary care, and, where needed, lifelong sanctuary for dogs unable to cope in traditional home environments. All dogs are neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped before adoption, and the charity offers lifetime rescue backup, relying entirely on public donations to continue its work.

BreedBulldog x Mastiff

My name is Bandit and I am 7 year old Boxer x Bullmastiff. I found myself on death row in a pound due to being an unclaimed stray.. most likely dumped by my previous owner.I do have elbow dysplasia which is controlled well with medication.I am a big strong boy who thinks he can sit on your lap like a chihuahua! I love a bum scratch and am always perfect patient at the vets.I love to be loved and have lots of love to give my new family!!I have no experience with children and am looking for an adult only home without visiting children.I cannot live with cats or small furries!I get on well with some dogs but not all, and so will need a home as the only dog.I walk well on the lead during my walks but am very strong initially or when excited so will need a fit and strong person to walk me. I can't do marathons but a couple of ½ hour walks a day would suit me well.I am looking for a quiet home with calm adults who enjoy a brindle snuggle buddy!

BreedYorkshire Terrier

Meet Queenie (aka Queenie Weenie Beanie!) Queenie is an adorable tiny little girl, estimated to be around 6–9 months old. She came into council kennels as a stray, but despite her uncertain start in life, she is a happy, loving little bean who is ready to find her forever family.Queenie can be a little shy when first meeting new people, but she warms up incredibly quickly and soon becomes your biggest fan. Once she knows you, she absolutely adores affection and greets you with the sweetest little Tigger-like bounces whenever she gets excited!Because Queenie gains so much confidence from other dogs, she is looking for a home with a friendly resident dog who can show her the ropes and be her best buddy. Having another dog around really helps her confidence both at home and when out and about. She is brilliant at the vets, happy to be handled, and is a delight to have around. Due to her tiny size, she would be best suited to a home with older, sensible children, as younger children may accidentally be too rough with her. She cannot live with cats.Queenie is currently too young to be spayed, so her new owners will be required to have her spayed at the appropriate age under a neutering contract. She has been vaccinated and microchipped. Her new owners will need to be committed to regular brushing and grooming.Queenie’s new home will need to have: A friendly resident dog for companionship and confidence A secure garden, suitable for a tiny dog Someone home for much of the day Older, sensible children if there are children in the home Patient owners willing to continue her training and confidence-building Commitment to having her spayed at the appropriate ageQueenie is the cutest little companion and has so much love to give. Always happy to see you and full of joyful little bounces, she is going to make a wonderful companion for a very lucky family. ️If you think you could offer Queenie Weenie Beanie the loving home she deserves, please use the link below to complete an application form.

Trevor

Kent

Age6 years
BreedShih Tzu

He has been neutered, vaccinated and microchipped.Trevor is looking for a calm, experienced home with confident owners who understand how to give him space and build trust at his pace. He cannot live with children. He is also unable to live with cats.He will do well in a quiet, structured home without lots of visitorsWhen he first arrived, he was very frightened of people, and while he has come a long way, he can still be a little cautious when meeting new faces. Trevor’s PersonalityOnce Trevor knows you, he truly shines. He becomes an incredibly affectionate, cuddly little companion who loves nothing more than snuggling up beside you in the evenings. He forms strong bonds and is wonderfully loyal to his people. Social LifeTrevor absolutely adores other dogs and would thrive in a home with a playful canine companion. He’s currently in foster with other dogs and loves having a friend to play with and learn from.️ Things to Know • Trevor can be wary of new people and may nip if approached too quickly • He needs patient owners committed to continuing his trust-building journey • He can be a bit unsure about formal handling and may give a small grumble, but he is responsive and ultimately cooperative • Best suited to a structured, understanding home environment The Good Stuff • Very loving and cuddly once bonded • Great recall off-lead • Playful and social with other dogs • A genuinely good boy who wants to pleaseTrevor needs a home who initially respect his space, and will be his advocate in keeping him safe around strangers, ensuring well meaning people out on walks or visitors do not try to stroke him before he is ready. Once he bonds, he bonds firmly without exception....but this takes time. He needs people who understand he has been traumatised in situations before coming into rescue, and he needs patience. Once you gain his love, you will have a best friend for life.Trevor was initially unable to cope with being groomed / shaved but his foster parents have worked incredibly hard on this and he now allows those he trusts to groom and clip him.Trevor does not like the vets! But his foster parents have worked hard with muzzle training which will be needed at vet appointments.Trevor is a dog who needs understanding and compassion...and in return he will become your absolute best friend and lap warmer!Trevor is being fostered in EssexIf you could offer Trevor a place in your heart and your home, and you have truly digested all of the above information and are committed to being his safe space...then please use the link below to complete an application form
