Southern Golden Retriever Rescue is a volunteer-led charity dedicated to supporting and rehoming Golden Retrievers, with the dog’s wellbeing always the top priority. The team gathers detailed information about each dog’s history, health and behaviour, then carefully matches them with suitable adopters—often after months on a waiting list. All prospective homes are thoroughly checked, must have a completely secure garden, and are introduced to the dog to ensure a genuine and lasting fit. Ongoing advice and lifetime support are provided to help every rehomed Golden Retriever enjoy a safe and happy future.

Ollie is now Reserved - 24th July, 2026Wonderful news, Basil went off to his new home on Saturday but we still we need that special adoption for Ollie who is nearly 2 years old.Handsome Ollie is a terrific character, great with other dogs and easy at home. However he's not always happy to share his toys with people or dogs so he needs an experienced owner.- Vaccinated, neutered, microchipped and ready for his next adventure.- Will arrive with all his belongings.- Bring you a cushion you didn't ask for.- Roll over for a tummy rub halfway through an important conversation.- Act like you've returned from war after a 10-minute trip to Tesco.- Turn the mention of his name into a full-body tail-wagging celebration.He does show guarding behaviour in some circumstances.We are open to discussing Ollie to join another dog, female, but again experience of managing guarding issues with other dogs is very important.
