Southern Golden Retriever Rescue is a volunteer-led charity dedicated to supporting and rehoming Golden Retrievers, with the dog’s wellbeing always the top priority. The team gathers detailed information about each dog’s history, health and behaviour, then carefully matches them with suitable adopters—often after months on a waiting list. All prospective homes are thoroughly checked, must have a completely secure garden, and are introduced to the dog to ensure a genuine and lasting fit. Ongoing advice and lifetime support are provided to help every rehomed Golden Retriever enjoy a safe and happy future.

Purely by co incidence we are seeking new homes for two current scoundrelsBasil is a 2 year old Golden Retriever from strong working lines.Bright, affectionate and eager to learn more Basil already has a great training foundation, walking beautifully to heel and responding well to commands including sit, down, paw and bed. He loves countryside walks, enjoys training and would thrive in activities such as obedience, gundog work, hoopers or agility.Basil is looking for an active, adult only home with experienced owners who understand working breeds. Basil has displayed resource guarding details of which we will share so he needs people confident in reading and responding to canine body language. He will thrive with mental and physical stimulation, a secure garden and someone at home for much of the day. We would like him to be the only dog.Through no fault of his own we are looking for a home for 2 year old Ollie.Ollie is also a working type Golden Retriever who would benefit from a home with a sizeable garden and where there is someone home most of the day. He will need good long walks too. Ollie has displayed some resource guarding over toys and he needs someone who is familiar with helping him through that behaviour.Ollie is an absolutely super dog, very affectionate and well-behaved. He often joins other dogs for the day but we do want him start off being an only dog. This will provide Ollie with one on one further training.These dogs are not couch potatoes – they are clever, energetic, excitable youngsters looking for owners who will embrace their potential and take them on adventures. Resource guarding can be safely managed.· Enjoys meeting other dogs out on walks, good off lead· Lots of company every day· Both in good health, both castratedEach of these dogs have a huge amount to offer.
