Meet gorgeous Aloy (emphasis on the A, not like ā€˜alloy’…she’s not a wheel!), she’s an absolute sweetie-pie melting hearts on the block! Aloy is gentle, friendly and fun…sometimes surprises us with a zoomie, but prefers to stay calm and collected most of the time! And she loves a cuddle or twelve! She’s fine being left alone in the house for short periods, to be built up gradually in a new home. She gets on well with the other super-snoots here although isn’t a huge fan of small, titchy dogs, they just don’t measure up! And don’t look too long into her beautiful dark eyes if you’re not serious about taking her home…she’ll melt you!

Amos, a 5 years old male Greyhound available for adoption from SWW Greyhound Trust in Wales

Amos

Here’s Amos, a super friendly, super waggy handsome fella looking for just 3 things in life…fuss, fuss & FUSS! Oh, and if you can throw in a sofa too, he’ll be so chuffed! He loves attention and will happily take fuss all day long. Amos is a playful, happy chap who loves his squeaky toys. He’s not allowed squeaky toys here as it drives all the other long dogs bonkers in their kennels, so we’re desperate to get him homed so he can enjoy them again! If he gets a little too excited he can forget his manners and be a little mouthy, this should improve with a little training and settling into a routine but we’d recommend homing him with adults and older children. Amos gets on great with the other noodles on the block and loves a good runaround. He’s not so keen on smaller dogs and will need further socialisation here. He could live as an only dog with an experienced owner, or as part of a household with other similar dogs. Yes, he needs a bit of work and some training in a few areas (who doesn’t?!), but most of all, this fun, happy boy just needs a chance. He really is a smasher Could you be the person that brings squeaky toys back into Amos’s life? He’ll love you forever!

Arthur, a 6 years old male Greyhound available for adoption from SWW Greyhound Trust in Wales

Arthur

I could tell Arthur was looking for an outing by the dainty twirls he was doing in his kennel! Arthur was a fabulous companion on our walk. He walked well on the lead, was calm & gentle, and very friendly. Arthur enjoyed a good old sniffari in the field. We didn’t have any other noodles with us, but he’s happy having a runaround with his pals and also fine walking past titchy, tiny dogs…but might not want to live with one! He is good in the house and is able to be left alone, with this being built up gradually in any new home. This friendly fella was an absolute peach to hang out with and will make some lucky sausage a lovely pal!

Asher, a 7 years old male Greyhound available for adoption from SWW Greyhound Trust in Wales

Asher

BreedGreyhound

Well, what a face! They don’t come much more handsome than the boy with the biggest overbite on the block…Asher Asher is lively, fun, big & tall…all topped off with that lovely face & winning smile! He can pull a little on the lead at first but once he gets going he trots along in a very elegant manner… like a little show pony! Asher gets on well with the other more conventional looking noodles here but will need a bit more socialisation around the smaller, funny looking doggos…he’s just not used to them. He’s a happy, friendly chap, so if you’re looking for a bit of a looker, look no further…tall, dark & handsome just arrived in your life! Asher has been going on some adventures recently with one of our lovely volunteers, here’s how this smily chap is getting on: ā€œAsh is an affectionate boy with an adorable goofy face. Ash loves going for his weekly adventures. He makes me smile every time I see that lovely black head over the kennel door. He is initially very excitable but once that kennel door is open, he is the ultimate gentleman Asher flies into the car; and lets me put his safety belt on with no drama. He now settles very quickly and is lying down before I get into the car. Winnstay Stores was today’s location. Nothing new there then Asher waited patiently on the back seat while I unhitched him from his safety belt; and put on his usual kit. Once out of the car I got lots of head bumps and cwtches. Asher had lively feet today but was easy to handle. He was just so happy to be out The rain and mud never dampens this boy’s enthusiasm I mentioned last week that we would eventually meet other dogs; and we did. Today we got to about 20m from the dogs before Asher’s toes started tapping and he let out a little whine. Closer than a few weeks ago so a definite improvement There was also no real drama as he allowed me to turn around; and he happily followed. He didn’t try and keep looking behind but trotted nicely along the path. He did have to have a shake-off and a pee though just to get rid of the excess emotion!! Asher can be a strong lad but today we walked with a loose lead for the majority of the walk. We were out and about for around 50 mins; and he was a lot more relaxed after about 30 mins. It takes him a while to relax but he only goes out on a Sunday so you can’t blame him for wanting to grab life with all 4-paws!! If he had a buddy who could get him out and about more frequently, he would get used to life outside of kennels a lot more quickly. Often when Asher is walking, he forgets there is a person at the end of the lead! He has to process a lot of information so I am not his major concern. However, when he does remember I get head bumps, cwtches and leans. On a wet and windy day being recognised by this lovable big boy makes me smile every time ā€ And here’s a further update a few months on from the one above: ā€œAsher is a very happy hound; and given his size there is a lot to love Asher and I have been buddies since the beginning of the year. I think he’s coming along nicely. His current skill set includes: Ā· Walking up and down steps Ā· Jumping in and out of a car Ā· Settling while travelling Ā· Not phased by speeding cars; noisy trailers; people talking; children walking past Ā· Doesn’t mind the rain or sun and today he experienced hailstones!! Ā· He can walk over a range of surfaces – stones, wood, grass and tarmac Ā· Walks nicely on a loose lead once his initial excitement of being out has passed Ā· He can wait patiently to cross a road; and knows how to use a zebra crossing Ā· He is patient when being handled; and lets people check his teeth and paws Ā· He has perfected his head bumps all on his own The only thing left to work on is his emotional response to other dog breeds. This is an achievable goal given that in January, everything overwhelmed him Don’t forget he only leaves kennels once a week for around 1hr. The weather was pretty horrid today but Asher took it all in his stride. He did have to do a few more shake-offs to get the hailstones out of his ears!! Not surprisingly, there were not many dog walkers around the Business Park. However, a boring walk is not a bad thing for our Asher. He loves being out of kennels. He is the sniffiest hound I have buddied. He sniffs so hard he sometimes sneezes As the weather improves, I’m sure we’ll see more dogs out and about; but with a bit of careful handling our Asher will be able to check his emotions and walk past without too much dramaā€ Feeling so proud of this superstar!

Meet gentle boy Bentley, another noodle who is none too impressed with the rain…it was bucketing down though! We had a slow walk down to the field and a sprightly race back up to get back in the dry!ļø He’s a handsome fella with teeny-tiny white snowflakes on his head. Bentley is waggy and friendly and gets along well with all dogs…long, short, smooth, fluffy, he doesn’t seem phased by any of them. In fact, we think he may prefer to live with another dog. Come and meet Bentley on a dry day to see him at his best! And if you don’t like going out in the rain either, he’ll be a great companion until it stops!

Oh Bestie, what a heart-melter! Those beautiful hazel eyes would do it on their own, but when you add in the waggy tail, how friendly you are and how much you love a good fussing…well, they’re not going to be able to resist you! Bestie is an absolute peach. He gets on great with the other spider horses here, and whilst he doesn’t mind the small, titchy. funny-looking pooches, and walks past them with no bother, he doesn’t fancy living with one! He’s fine being left on his own for short periods, to be built up gradually in a new home. If you’re on the lookout for a bestie…look no further than Bestie! See you soon!

Bod, a 4 years old male Greyhound available for adoption from SWW Greyhound Trust in Wales

Bod

Blue boy Bod is an absolute poppet! I was wondering what he’d be like as he was a bit noisy in his kennel and jumping like Zebedee! As soon as I went in to meet him, he calmed down, chilled out and let me get him ready to go out…this boy just wanted his walk and was an absolute peach the whole time. Bod is a beautiful blue colour with white toes. He’s a friendly fella and stayed close to me for most of our walk. He did have a little run with a long dog pal but she was way faster than him Bod will happily walk past smaller, stumpier dogs but we don’t think he’d want to live with one! Bod loves a good dose of fussage and we enjoyed a fair few cuddles! He is fine being left on his own in the house, to be built up gradually in a new home. It’s pretty hard not to fall head over heels for a dog like Bod…you’ve been warned people!

Well, it was quite hard to get a photo of Cat…she was either right up in my face trying to kiss me, or on her way toward me to get some fuss and deliver more kisses! This friendly lady is a real sweetheart. She’s affectionate in spades and absolutely adores being around people…the more fuss the better! She’s happy and fun to hang out with. She’s also great hanging out with the other spider horses here and doesn’t even mind if a small, dumpy, tumpy dog turns up! In fact, we think she’d probably prefer to live with another dog. Cat loves being in the garden here and also walks well on the lead. What a peachy lady! Cat’s proved a hit with our volunteers and recently went on a lovely walk with one, here’s how she got on: ā€œWe had a lovely walk around Llyn Llech Owain today, we passed a variety of dogs and she didn’t put a paw wrong. She stood and waited quietly whilst 2 horses passed. First time was at the start of the walk and second halfway round. We past a couple of barking dogs and again walked straight past with no reaction or interest. We joined the group and started towards the front of the pack and after our first stop for the group to catch up, we moved to the middle / rear of the pack, which after the initial pull to get moving again, she settled beautifully around the walk and was paw perfect to walk. She does get impatient standing around for long periods of time and will soon tell you it’s time to move! We did have a bit of a moment in the car when leaving LLO when she decided she no longer wanted to stay in the boot and wanted to be in the back seats. But a quick raise of the headrests and no further attempts were made to be a back seat passenger. ā€œ Big thanks to our volunteer for giving Cat such a lovely time and for this write up!

Well, what a charmer! Meet beautiful Charm, charming all our volunteers and winning fans all over the block! Charm is a kisser and showered me with tiny little pecks all over my hands when I went to her kennel! She’s friendly and lively and loves a good runaround with the other noodles here. She’s fine with stumpy dumpy dogs but wouldn’t want to live with one…she just doesn’t fancy giving them all that loving! She’s great fun and will make a fab companion. So if you’re ready to be charmed, she’s waiting for you call…number at the top of the page! ļø

Meet Chaz, a friendly, gentle, easygoing fella who just happens to be very handsome! Chaz is a quiet boy who walks well on the lead. He split his time on our walk into three equal portions…enjoying a good runaround, a gentle sniffari and being a fab pal walking alongside me. He loves a good dose of fussage too! Chaz came back when I called him! This could be a total fluke, so not promising anything at all here, but I was pretty impressed all the same! Chaz could live as an only dog and will make some lucky person a fab companion…what’s not to love?!

Meet cuddly Cody, the handsome boy who loves a good dose of fussage! Plus, his coat is super soft so it’s a lovely experience all-round! Cody is a happy chappy who got quite excited to go on his walk. He’s waggy and friendly and fun to hang out with. Cody enjoys a good runaround and gets on well with the other noodles on the block. He’s also fine hanging out with the short-stuff…those funny dumpling dogs don’t phase him one bit! He enjoys company and prefers not to be left on his own too much, so might do well with another four-legged pal in the home. This happy fella is gorgeous inside and out…snap him up people!

Colin, a 5 years old male Greyhound available for adoption from SWW Greyhound Trust in Wales

Colin

Wales

Meet one of our star goofballs on the block…the very handsome, Colin. Colin is a fun, bouncy, gorgeous boy who comes with one huge advantage…he will never knock things off your coffee table with his tail! After a run-in with a car boot (ouch!), Colin had to have his tail removed and now has an adorable, little waggy one! Nothing stops Colin though, he’s friendly, loves people, toys, and a good runaround. He also enjoys going on sniffari, covering quite a lot of the field with his glorious hooter. Colin is not a fan of being left alone, so we think he’d do best in a home with another sighthound or where someone is around most of the time. He gets on well with the other long dogs here and can walk past smaller dogs with little reaction, but would rather not live with one! Colin is a real sweetheart and such good fun, he will make a fab companion. we’d love to see a happy ending to this TAIL!
