About Tia Rescue

Tia Rescue works primarily in Yorkshire, rehoming dogs directly from trainers and supporting their transition into loving homes. While most dogs are based in Yorkshire, the organisation also rehomes to Scotland where a confirmed home is in place and adoption paperwork and donations are completed in advance. As prospective adopters may not always be able to meet the dog beforehand, placements are made based on the team’s detailed assessments and guidance. Supported by a dedicated small team, Tia Rescue remains committed to carefully matching each dog with the right home.

Alright, show a bit of decorum. Under wraps for now until we find out a little more about him. Dropped off the radar after December 2024 and hasn’t exactly set the track on fire in his trials since. Small chap at 30 kgs but not disgraced by any means, with 10 wins under his belt.“An absolutely stunning fawn boy with a few ‘snowflake’ spots. He has the most beautiful eyes with full eyeliner…. He was timid though, and a bit reluctant to start the walk and all around the track. He didn’t show any aggression, even with Aaron bouncing around. HOWEVER! Once in the car park, his tail came up, and even started wagging. He was more confident, and was happy to have a look around. Craig said once he gets to know you, he isn’t timid. He did walk nicely by my side in the car park, but needed encouragement on the track. My gut feeling is that he doesn’t like the track. I would think he would do better in a quiet home, maybe with another hound for confidence.“

It was all going so well too. Nine races, four wins, four seconds and a 4th (bit of a sniffle).Blew it a fortnight ago. Blackout took umbrage at being bested at the line by a slip of a girl. The judge took a poor view of his chat up technique and red-carded him for life. We met him at the weekend and think he should appeal. This dog is gorgeous.“Blackout is very friendly boy with people and other dogs and loves attention. This paragon of virtue was very interested in being friends with Dreamer. Walked nicely & calmly on his lead. Also he was completely unfazed by the forklift in the car park. Blackout thoroughly enjoyed his walk and was wagging his tail constantly . Just laid down in the van quietly whilst waiting for his turn. A happy sunny straightforward boy who needs a chance.“

Rodney’s brother but more talented. Rodders has bagged himself a foster home for now and Brew would like to go one better. Sibling rivalry you understand. He is a very handsome Irish lad, who has spent his career tearing around Doncaster. He has nothing to be ashamed about with twelve wins to his name. His form has been dropping off of late and it was time to call it a day.Brew is a chilled out, typical greyhound. Happy to go along with whatever you want to do.No fuss, no drama, no hysterics.

Cooler than a Vegan Snow Lizard, for those of us who know where their towel is. Dreamer has been lightly raced and his heart was never in it anyway.A straightforward boy. Walked quietly & nicely on his lead but kept himself to himself more than some. Blackout was very keen to be friends with him and Dreamer was laid back when Blackout was coming up to him for a sniff but wasn’t really interested in sniffing him back. Came across as a quiet boy and maybe a bit aloof but might come out of his shell when settled in a home. Totally unfazed by a forklift which was operating in the car park. He was a leaner so he obviously does enjoy being around people. Laid down in the van whilst waiting for his turn.Patiently awaiting his place in the world.

Logan’s brother and off to the races with him this afternoon. Ten wins under his belt and as beautiful with it. Likes girls. Tough as teak and no trouble in the kennels. Driller is the dog who would kennel safely with the bitches.A nice kind dog, but he is off to work now. Driller has heard he is racing against 5 bitches.Try and look cool Driller. Play hard to get.“Driller is fondly known as Drill. He is a medium size lad with the longest, pointiest face and a slightly overbite that just screams adorable. He is related to Pacino but with a darker brindle coat and chocolate eyes. Driller is ever so friendly and sniffy – so interested in me and lovely to walk“

Superb colour and presence, you have to admit. Another dog who could go around Doncaster in his sleep. Fifteen wins, but pulled up lame back in February. Fully recovered now and trialled since, however he was done with the game and finished 14 lengths behind the winner. Something we hate to see.Is he downcast? Hell no! Box of frogs, vitality oozing out of every pore. Full of energy, you could get exhausted just looking at him. This is not the dog for quiet strolls. Dude was so delighted to be going out it took ages to the get the lead on him. Should be connected to the national grid.He may evolve into a sober dude at some point but not yet baby! Not yet!

Rodney, a 4 years old male Greyhound available for adoption from Tia Rescue in Scotland

Rodney

Rodney turned four in January and has spent the last 5 months in foster. He is a very friendly lad who doesn’t like to be left for long periods, so would like to find a home with someone who is around most of the time.Rodney is an inquisitive boy who enjoys sniffing on his walks, snoozing on his bed and is very food orientated. He travels well in the car, jumps in on his own and lays down for the journey. He has also enjoyed trips away in his foster family’s motor home and has even been on a tram in Blackpool!Rodney will respond to his name and will let you know when he wants to go out. He likes to be involved in everything and if he’s in the garden or another room and thinks he’s missing out, he’ll come and find you at lightening quick speed! Rodney has the energy you would expect of a young dog and can pull on his lead to begin with, but this is improving all the time. Rodney would be happiest as an only dog with experienced adopters who have a secure garden as he can clear a 3ft high gate/fence.

born 14th August 2021“Romeo has been in foster for a couple of weeks, and his foster family describe him as “such a lovely lad” who is confident, happy and walks beautifully on his lead. He mostly walks to heel and doesn’t pull. Romeo settles well at night and sleeps through until just before 7am. He is a very friendly boy who loves attention and fuss and is excited to meet people who come to visit. He is living happily with 2 other male hounds and has seen other breeds out and about. Having never seen other breeds before, Romeo has reacted amazingly well and has shown nothing more than a bit of general interest. Romeo has been left for a couple of hours without issue and is generally clean in the house. He does have the occasional accident during the night but it’s still very early days and he will soon pick up the routine. Romeo is great around food and does not have any guarding issues. He has recently started playing with toys and has spent time with older visiting children. He’s a clever boy who listens to what you tell him and who has quickly settled into his new home.Romeo is a fabulous boy who has made huge progress in a few short weeks. He will be a wonderful addition to someone’s life.”A mercifully brief career. Romeo saw a bit of Ireland for a couple of months and then headed across the sea to Doncaster. Nine months start to finish, Romeo troubled the judge on only two occasions. Romeo was 33kgs of rippling muscle, dad being Droopys Sydney. Neither of which prevented having his *** handed to him by a slip of a girl 18 month ago. Our very own Maggie (Redbrick Bounty) thrashed him 6 1/2 lengths and he has only just recovered from the embarrassment. Been comfort eating ever since as he now tips the scales at 38 kgs.Romeo needs love, a lot of it together with a big sofa. The big oaf is rather needy and we are looking for a special home. A retired person prepared to hold his paw and tell him it’s the taking part that counts would be preferable. There is an outstanding dog in this crushed soul somewhere. Needs a quiet steady home to bring it out.
