Wadars Animal Rescue is a leading animal welfare charity based in Ferring, Worthing, rescuing wildlife and rehoming companion animals since 1969. Each year the charity helps more than 1,400 injured, orphaned or at-risk wild animals, while also rehoming hundreds of dogs, cats and small pets. Its dedicated Animal Welfare Team responds to public concerns, operates a busy wildlife helpline, and runs a lost and found pet register, working closely with local vets and rehabilitation centres. Now caring for cats and small animals at its Ferring rehoming centre—with plans to expand kennels and wildlife facilities—Wadars relies almost entirely on community donations, legacies and fundraising to continue its vital work.

Lottie can be a little shy when she first meets new people, but don’t let that fool you — once she feels safe and comfortable, her true personality shines. She’s incredibly loving, and affectionate with her people, and she builds beautiful, loyal bonds. When out and about, she can sometimes feel unsure around unfamiliar dogs. But with patient and positive guidance, she may cope with a regular visiting dog friend. Due to this we are looking for a home with no other pets. She’s happy to be around children, though she isn’t used to living with very young ones. A home that can give her gentle structure, reassurance, and lots of love will help her truly flourish. If you’re looking for a sweet, devoted companion who just needs a little time to feel secure, Lottie could be the perfect match.

We don’t know too much about her history or background as she came into our care via the local authority as an unclaimed stray. However, what we do know is that since she’s been in our care we have found Luna to be a friendly and affectionate girl who just wants to be loved.Like most terriers Luna does have her little quirks. She likes to bark at strangers coming into her home until they sit down and offer her a treat. Although, after a couple of visits, she’s likely to want to sit on their lap. She can sometimes be vocal when meeting other dogs outdoors, but once she knows that they’re friendly, she’s happy to say hello.Luna is housetrained and happy to be left for a couple of hours.Luna enjoys her walks and being quite young likes to walk at a good pace. Her ideal owner should be fit and active, without other pets, or young children.

Purdey is a beautiful girl who originally came to the UK from Greece.Indoors, Purdey is an absolute star. She is very well-mannered, obedient, and calm. She’s fully house trained, enjoys relaxing with her people, and is comfortable being left alone for a couple of hours.Outside, Purdey is still building her confidence and manners. After some practice she will nicely walk on the lead. However, like many dogs, she can get excited if she spots cats or squirrels and may try to chase them. She’s generally happy to walk past other dogs, although she may occasionally react if she feels unsure or threatened. She has already been making great progress.Purdey needs a home with no other pets. She may able to go with teenagers but she isn’t used to living with young children.Purdey is a loving, loyal companion, who will thrive with someone willing to continue her outdoor training and support her as she learns. In the right home, she will make a wonderful and devoted family member.
