About Warrington Animal Welfare

Warrington Animal Welfare (WAW) is a local charity dedicated to putting animals first and supporting responsible pet ownership across Warrington and surrounding areas. The charity was established to provide financial support to pet owners on low incomes or benefits, helping cover the cost of neutering to reduce the number of stray, abandoned, and unwanted animals. Alongside low-cost neutering, WAW raises awareness around microchipping and responsible care, while offering help to rehome pets when owners are no longer able to keep them. By supporting both animals and their owners, Warrington Animal Welfare plays an important role in strengthening and protecting the local community.

Chico

Cheshire
SexMale
Age10 years
BreedSoft Coated Wheaten Terrier

Chico is a little dog with a big heart, with the most incredible spirit. At around 10 years old, he may be a little older – but don’t let that fool you. This special boy still has plenty of life, love, and energy to share with the right person.Chico came into our care in the summer of 2025 in truly heart-breaking circumstances. He was dumped outside our centre, alone, frail, and in clear agony. His tiny body was matted, neglected, and hiding unimaginable suffering. A veterinary examination revealed just how much he had endured – his intestines had prolapsed, and his bladder and prostate had slipped due to weakened pelvic muscles. It was clear Chico had been suffering for a long time, silently and without help. And yet… despite everything, Chico was gentle. Trusting. Loving.

Molly is a beautiful girl who has recently retired from racing and is now ready to begin her next chapter…finding a loving forever home. When Molly first arrived with us, she was understandably a little unsure of her new surroundings. However, it didn’t take long for her gentle and affectionate nature to shine through. She’s a friendly girl who enjoys human company and is already showing just how sweet she can be.Molly walks nicely on a lead and harness, making her a lovely companion for calm strolls. She has shown interest in other dogs, often wagging her tail when she sees them, although she hasn’t yet been properly introduced – so her behaviour around other dogs is still unknown. Due to her background as a racing Greyhound, she will need a home with no other animals. As Molly has likely never lived in a home before, her adopters will need to be patient and understanding while she learns the basics of home life, including housetraining and settling into a new routine. With time, kindness, and consistency, she has all the potential to blossom into a wonderful companion.

Teddy

Cheshire
SexMale
Age2 years
BreedSoft Coated Wheaten Terrier

Teddy is a gorgeous young Staffie with a big heart and lots of love to give. He’s looking for a fresh start after a relationship breakdown and would make a loyal and affectionate companion for the right family. This handsome boy has grown up around children and is gentle and well-mannered, though we feel he’d be happiest in a calm home with teenagers rather than younger children, just while he continues to build his confidence.Teddy walks nicely on the lead (even if his route isn’t always straight!) and travels beautifully in the car. His recall could use a bit of polishing, but he’s eager to learn and responds well to patience and praise.

Wynter, a 2 years old female Crossbreed available for adoption from Warrington Animal Welfare in Cheshire

Warrington Animal Welfare

Wynter

Cheshire
SexFemale
Age2 years
BreedCrossbreed

Wynter is a beautiful girl with bundles of energy and so much love to give. She came into our care through no fault of her own. Wynter had been in her previous home since she was 16 weeks old, after being born as part of an accidental litter. Sadly, with seven children in the household, she became too boisterous for the youngest members of the family and was often kept separated for long periods of time. It’s clear she hasn’t always had the chance to properly learn the skills she needs, but she’s ready now.Wynter is a typical young crossbreed, energetic, giddy, affectionate and full of enthusiasm for life. She can be clingy with the people she bonds with and absolutely adores attention. With those she knows and trusts, she is playful and very loving.
