About WK Retired Greyhounds

Whittingham Kennels Retired Greyhounds is a registered charity dedicated to the rescue and rehoming of retired and rescued greyhounds across Essex, London, Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire and surrounding areas within roughly an hour of Waltham Abbey. The charity primarily rehomes ex-racing greyhounds, typically aged between 3–5 years, though some are younger rescue cases. Known for their gentle, affectionate nature and modest exercise needs, greyhounds make loyal and loving companions. The team welcomes enquiries from prospective adopters and supporters who would like to help give these dogs a comfortable and caring forever home.

Abbi is 4yrs old. She is very nervous until she knows you but does come round with patience and kindness. She would prefer to be the only dog at home, but does walk happily with other dogs, which would give her confidence. She will need a patient and understanding home, without young children as they may be too much for her. She is clean in her kennel and will be really loyal once she trusts you. Update: Abbi will need a home without too much activity where she can come out of her shell. She may be able to live with a confident dog-savy cat. She would prefer a more rural setting as she is spooked very easily by unexpected noise.
