About Yorkshire Rescue

The Yorkshire Rescue is a registered charity based in Yorkshire, dedicated to rescuing and rehoming animals in desperate need, including those with long-term health conditions, behavioural challenges, or a history of neglect and abandonment. Formerly known as Moorview Rescue, the charity always works in the best interests of the animal, providing care, rehabilitation, and support until a safe and loving home is found. Alongside rehoming, The Yorkshire Rescue focuses strongly on education and prevention, offering advice, community support, and rehabilitation training to help reduce the number of animals entering rescue. Animals are cared for within a trusted network of foster homes, giving them a safe and nurturing environment while they wait for their forever family. Guided by values of integrity, inclusivity, compassion, and dignity, the charity supports not only animals, but also the people who care for them.

Davichi

North Yorkshire
SexMale
Age8 years
BreedUnknown

Meet the dashing Davichi! This handsome little man has unfortunately come into us because his dad has gone into hospital and is no longer able to look after him, he’s been such a loved boy and all we want is to find somewhere where he can be just as loved.Davichi is the sweetest little lad, he loves being around people (cuddles make his world go around!). He just loves everyone he meets!Davichi has lived in a multiple cat household his whole life so would be suitable to live with another dog-savvy cat, he practically joined their ranks as a cat himself and can often be found perched on the back of the sofa!Davichi has experience with visiting older children so may be suitable to live with older children or teens. In generally Davichi isn’t fussed by other dogs but will bark if another dog barks at him first (he has a tiny bit of little man syndrome!) so may not be suitable for living with another dog (all the more attention for him!).He’s currently settling into foster & has been super good both in the house and on walks. Currently he’s only doing short walks as he starts a diet but will hopefully be a bit more active soon!If you think you could be this lovely little boy’s forever family please complete an application form.

Jet, a 1 year old male Unknown available for adoption from Yorkshire Rescue in North Yorkshire

Yorkshire Rescue

Jet

North Yorkshire
SexMale
Age1 year
BreedUnknown

Meet the joyful Jet! This stunning lad has come into rescue after being found as a stray. Luckily he was brought safely into us by a pound pulling organisation. Because he has come in as a stray we have limited prior history on him, but we’re loving getting to know him in kennels!Jet is your classic high energy young dog - he’s a pup full of beans! He absolutely loves life, he could walk all day & still want to play when you get home! He loves to play & is super smart - he’d be great at something like flyball! He picks up training really well (especially as he is motivated by food, toys & fuss!). But we don’t know how much prior training he had & he’s is at the teenage phase where he can test things a bit, he just needs consistency.Jet is really good out and about, he can be very excited at the start of walks but who could blame him! He’s wonderful with people, and has been friendly with the dogs he has met so far so we think he may be suitable to live with another dog. He’d be a great match for another medium sized high energy breed. As Jet came in as a stray he is not cat or child tested, as such we are looking for cat free homes with children of high school age upwards. Ideally he’s looking for a teen or adult only home where he can be given all of the attention he needs while still being able to settle for a bit.Jet really just needs an active household who have lots of time to meet his needs, ideally someone with high-energy breed experience. He’s just the most lovely dog and will make an incredible companion! If you think you might be the right fit for him please put in an application form. He can’t wait to meet you!

Jillie, a 14 years old female Unknown available for adoption from Yorkshire Rescue in North Yorkshire

Yorkshire Rescue

Jillie

North Yorkshire
SexFemale
Age14 years
BreedUnknown

Meet the joyful-Jillie! This sweet old girl has come into us because her mum has gone into hospital and is no longer able to look after her, she’s been such a loved girl and all we want is to find somewhere quiet for her to retire where she can be just as loved.Jillie is just the loveliest little lady, she loves to be around people and to curl up on the sofa with you. She’s so gentle and just wants to be loved by everyone (she certainly knows she deserves it!).Despite being an older girl Jillie still has lots of life left in her, she loves to play with her toys and go on lots of sniffy-walks (ideally with lots of treats being given along the way!). She’s only got little legs but would make a wonderful companion for someone’s at home a lot of the time and likes to go out and about on quiet walks. Mainly she just wants a comfortable corner to call her own!Jillie has lived with a cat (the lovely Ellie who has also come into foster with us) her whole life so would be suitable to live with another dog-savvy cat. She ideally wants a nice quiet home to retire in so no young children but she would be suitable to live with teens.Jillie is very good on lead and very good in the house, she’s just a general all-rounder! She can be a bit anxious around very large dogs (who could blame her, she’s only wee) but is in general friendly around them. She may be suitable to live with another little dog provided they got along. If you’d like to meet this lovely little girl please complete an application form.

Magic, a 3 years old male Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier available for adoption from Yorkshire Rescue in North Yorkshire

Yorkshire Rescue

Magic

North Yorkshire
SexMale
Age3 years
BreedSoft Coated Wheaten Terrier

Meet the marvellous Magic! This lovely little lad has only just come into us, having been found by the warden after his owner passed away. The poor boy has had quite a stressful couple of weeks with a lot of change but he’s now settling in foster (with his two furry foster brothers!).Because of being found after his owner passed away we do not have a full history on Magic, but we’ve learned a little bit about him from neighbours and the warden. He’d originally come from quite a difficult home environment but despite this he is just the sweetest lad.Magic is your classic young terrier - he’s full of beans and loves to play (both with people and with other dogs!). He would be suitable to live with another dog assuming they got along at visits. As a terrier we think he may have a bit of a prey drive so we wouldn’t be looking to rehome him with cats. We have no child testing on Magic so we would be looking for homes with teens or adults. So far he’s been super with all of the people and other dogs he has met, and has been very good in the home & on walks (albeit quite enthusiastic about them!). He would be great for an active home with lots of interesting walks & adventures to go on!Magic has had quite a lot of change in quite a short period of time meaning he can be understandably a little bit nervous about being left alone (he’d much rather be keeping you company!) and as such we’re looking for a home with someone who’s there most of the time to help him settle and give him the support that he needs. If you think you might be a good fit for this magical puppy please fill in an application form!

Maple, a 3 years old female Lurcher available for adoption from Yorkshire Rescue in North Yorkshire

Yorkshire Rescue

Maple

North Yorkshire
SexFemale
Age3 years
BreedLurcher

Meet our marvellous Maple! This stunning girl was brought to us by the warden having been found as a stray, very underweight and all alone. Because of this we have very limited history on her - though we have no idea why anyone would abandon this lovely girl! You may not be able to tell from her photos but Maple is a teeny girl - we think she’s a whippet cross! Lots of people say in her photos she looks like a Mali cross, honestly we don’t know if this is the case but in person she looks much less like one (she certainly doesn’t have their breed traits - Maple may be a better teddy than guard dog!). .Despite a hard start and coming to us very underweight, Maple is so full of life. She’s always ready for a walk or play and would adore an active home (though she would also love a snuggle on your sofa). Being a stray we don’t have a full history on her but she’s now been with us for a couple of months and she’s changed so much in this time! She’s gotten so much better on lead and has made friends with all of the other dogs in kennels (especially Bruce & Alan who she loves to go to the pub with for a doggy roast on weekends!).She’d fit perfectly into an active family, though we think she would be too much for young children so only teens up. Being a sight-hound cross she has a prey drive so also needs a cat free home (all the more attention for her!).Maple would make a really great companion for another dog (she seems to especially love male dogs though this may be because most of our current kennel dogs are boys!) but this would depend on the individuals getting along.Maple is ideally looking for a lurcher experienced home where she has the space and time she needs, but she’d fit well into any active home. She’s soo smart and loves praise so we know with time and patience she’ll become a super star- we can’t believe no one’s given her the chance yet.Maple has recently had a home trial, unfortunately she wasn’t quite the right fit for the family as she was too high energy for them & could get a bit over excited with everything going on but they said she was a lovely girl otherwise. What we’ve learnt is that she’s housetrained & can be cuddly when calm but needs training, support and understanding to help her learn how to relax. If you think you’d be a fit for this lovely lass please fill in an adoption form and we’ll get back to you with more info.

Milo

SexMale
Age5 years
BreedFrench Bulldog

Meet the marvellous Milo! This handsome little man has come into us due to a relationship breakdown, and due to no fault of his own.Milo isn’t the biggest fan of other dogs (classic Frenchie, he has a bit of little man syndrome!) but is very well behaved on walks, he just needs to keep a little bit of distance. Because of this he’s looking for a home as the only dog (all the more attention for him!). Milo also isn’t cat tested so we are looking for a cat free home. This lovely lad is super friendly with people - he loves fusses and would be great in a home where there are people around lots of the time to pamper him! He is also a big treat fan (although he could currently do with a little bit of a diet!).He’s super well behaved in the house, he’s crate trained and good on the lead. He’s the perfect gentleman! Milo is good with children, having lived with young children beofre, so may be suitable to be rehomed with dog savvy children 5yo up.Milo really just needs a loving home where he can settle and have consistency, he has had a fair bit of change recently after all. He’s going to make a wonderful companion for a lucky family. If you think you could be this lovely little boy’s forever family please complete an application form.

Percy

North Yorkshire
SexMale
Age11 months
BreedLabrador

Meet the goodest-boy Percy the puppy! This lovely lad has only just come into us, he was a welfare case so has had quite a rough time of it & we’re just glad he’s safe now and settling in. We can’t imagine how anyone couldn’t love such a sweet boy!We aren’t quite sure what breeds are in Percy Pup but we think he could have a bit of lab in him (he’s certainly got the tail & paws!).Because of him coming from the warden we limited history on Percy meaning we need a little time to get to know him & his needs. He isn’t child or cat tested so when he’s ready to look for his new home he’ll be looking for a teen or adult only cat-free home.So far Percy has just been your classic puppy (albeit a bit bigger!). He’s full of beans so he’ll be looking for an active home, to match his bounce, with lots of time to help him settle & catch up on any training he’s missed. He adores food & is very smart so we’re sure he will pick up on training well - he can already so a very keen sit & paw!Percy is full of smiles & love - he has kisses to spare for his favourite people! He just needs someones to take the time to teach him how to be loved!Percy is only 11 months old and we’d love to find him his forever home so he can be with his family on his birthday. Rosie, a 2 years old female Labrador available for adoption from Yorkshire Rescue in North Yorkshire

Yorkshire Rescue

Rosie

North Yorkshire
SexFemale
Age2 years
BreedLabrador

Meet our prettiest girl, Rosie! This lovely pup has come to us due to an owner change of circumstances meaning that they no longer have time to provide her the care that she needs. Rosie has been a very much loved girl and we are looking for a family to love her just as much.Rosie is your classic high energy young dog - she’s a pup full of beans! She absolutely loves life, she could walk all day & still want to play when you get home! She loves to play ball and to have lots of sniffy walks (she also likes to play hide the treat!). She is super smart - she’d be great at something like flyball!Rosie is generally a very well trained girl. She’s impeccably behaved within the household: she waits for her food & asks nicely before going on the furniture, she’s crate trained and is happy being left (although you have to be a tad bit careful with bins when she’s left as her Labrador nose helps her find hidden treats!).Rosie has lived with an older child and a dog savvy cat before so may be suitable to be rehomed with children of high-school age (she’s super friendly but as a bouncy girl she could be a bit much for younger children!). She may be able to live with another dog savvy cat but she isn’t suitable to live with dogs or other small furries.Rosie spent the first 18 months of her life locked inside a box-room, before she was rescued by her current owner, and as such missed out on a lot of key socialisation and training. Over the last couple of years she’s come on leaps & bounds, she’s super friendly with people & great in the car, but she does struggle a little bit with other dogs out and about. Rosie is very interested in what’s going on outside so needs a secure garden (she has an impressive jump!) and would need training before being let off lead.Rosie is alright with dogs at a distance (e.g. on the other side of the street or further) and distraction definitely helps (a ball or a treat normally does the trick!) but can find other dogs coming closer a bit scary. She has quite a loud voice to tell them she’s uncomfortable, but she settles fairly quickly and can continue enjoying the rest of her walk. This is something she has started some training in regards to but she needs continual more help with this in her new home. She has picked up other training really well so we do think it’s something she can improve with. Ideally she wants a home in a quieter less dog-busy are where she can relax and start this training (city life is not for Rosie!).She really just needs an active household who have lots of time to meet her needs, ideally someone with high-energy breed experience. She’s just the most lovely dog and will make an incredible companion for the right family!Rosie absolutely loves being outdoors and could go walking for hours, she also loves going camping & swimming and would make an incredible adventure companion! If you think you might be the right fit for this beautiful pup please put in an application form. She can’t wait to meet you!

We don’t know what happened to Sly to leave him in this state but we’re here to help him in the next, much happier, chapter of his life.Because of being found dumped we have no history on Sylvester but so far he’s been just the sweetest boy in kennels.
