About Yorkshire Rescue

The Yorkshire Rescue is a registered charity based in Yorkshire, dedicated to rescuing and rehoming animals in desperate need, including those with long-term health conditions, behavioural challenges, or a history of neglect and abandonment. Formerly known as Moorview Rescue, the charity always works in the best interests of the animal, providing care, rehabilitation, and support until a safe and loving home is found. Alongside rehoming, The Yorkshire Rescue focuses strongly on education and prevention, offering advice, community support, and rehabilitation training to help reduce the number of animals entering rescue. Animals are cared for within a trusted network of foster homes, giving them a safe and nurturing environment while they wait for their forever family. Guided by values of integrity, inclusivity, compassion, and dignity, the charity supports not only animals, but also the people who care for them.

Meet Cracker, one of our very own Christmas miracles. Cracker was abandoned by his owners, left with his sister locked inside their house when they left. No one was told, and we can’t even begin to comprehend what these two went through in the days before they were found. They were just skin and bones, they were terrified. He’s been with us for a couple of months now, and the difference in them is incredible. Not only has he put on weight but he’s started to show his personality. Cracker is just the most lovely little lad, he’s full of smiles (& beans!). It’s taken taken him lots of time and TLC to get here, and he is still shy of new people, but when he gets to know you he’s like a puppy! He loves sniffy walks, and is starting to get his heads around toys (he’s definitely worked out treats though!).His ideal house would be quiet, without kids or other pets, so that he has the best possible chance to adjust (it can be an awful lot of new things at once afterall!).

Introducing handsome Harley! He was found wandering the streets as a stray at Christmas, the poor boy was all alone in the cold. The dog wardens thankfully took him in and brought him to us, where he has now been relaxing in the comfort of his foster home (with his new foster pup buddies!).Harley is truly the sweetest boy you could ask for, even the dog warden agreed that he was one of the most amazing boys they’d had in in a long time! He has such a sweet personality, he has a calm confidence and gentle manner, he’s a proper gentleman! We aren’t quite sure how old he is, but he certainly thinks he’s still a pup, he walks lovely out and about and still likes a good exercise.Harley is just looking for a safe warm home where he can enjoy the rest of his years in all of the comfort he deserves (ideally on your sofa having a cuddle!). We think he could live with another dog, as he is currently living with two in foster, as long as they got on in introductions. As he’s a big boy we think he’d be better suited to a home without young children.
