Vroula

Hello, my name is Vroula. I am one of the 27 dogs rescued from the hoarding case back in October. I am one of the older ones, which means I spent longer living in fear. Longer learning that humans were something to be scared of. Longer trying to disappear into corners, hoping the world would not notice me. When I first arrived, everything was terrifying. Hands. Voices. Leads. Doors. Movement. People coming close. I did not know what kindness meant. I did not know that someone touching me could be gentle. I did not know that the world could be safe. I am still shy. I am still careful. I still need time. But I have also made progress, even if my steps are smaller and quieter than some of the others. I do not walk on a lead yet. That still feels too much for me. But I allow the people who care for me to pick me up and carry me outside. I do not panic anymore. I may not love it, but I trust enough to let it happen.
