Albert, a 3 years old male Dachshund available for adoption from The Red Foundation in West Midlands

The Red Foundation

Albert

West Midlands
SexMale
Age3 years
BreedDachshund

Albert is £350 3 years, 10 months old Male, Chocolate Brown & Tan Smooth Miniature Dachshund 6 Kgs Neutered Albert’s family describe him as a wonderful loving dog. Sadly, due to a change in circumstances, Albert is being left alone for longer periods of time, which is increasing his anxiety. His family feels he deserves a home where he can receive the love, companionship, and stability he truly needs. This sweet boy is full of energy. He loves long walks, spending time outdoors, and is happiest when he’s active and engaged. Like many dachshunds, he has a strong prey drive and may try to chase smaller animals, including cats. Albert doesn’t mind smaller sized dogs but is known to be reactive to big white fluffy dogs. Albert finds it very difficult being left alone, he struggles to settle and can become destructive when bored, so he needs a home where someone is around most of the time. With patience, consistency, and ongoing training, Albert has the potential to thrive. He’s a clever lad who loves his food, learns quickly, and already knows some fun tricks, his latest including Paw and Sit! He loves cuddles and being close to his family members. Albert would be best suited to a calm, adult(s) or loving family who can provide him with companionship, plenty of cuddles, and the guidance he needs to grow into a confident, well-mannered boy. In return, he will bring endless love, energy, and joy into your life.

Albie, a 7 years old male Dachshund available for adoption from Dogs Trust in Greater Manchester

Dogs Trust

Albie

Greater Manchester
SexMale
Age7 years
BreedDachshund

Are you right for Albie?Albie would be best suited to a calm, quiet home where he can relax and feel safe to let his personality shine with time. Albie is looking for a home where any children are sensible, calm and of upper secondary ages. Albie has a history of being worried by children generally so would not suit a home with any younger visiting children. He isn't overly social when it comes to other dogs, much preferring the company of his human friends. Typical of his breed, Albie can be reactive towards smaller animals and cats, he would therefore like to be the only pet in the home. Albie would be best suited to a home with access to a private garden but homes without a garden may be considered in quieter areas. Albie can be shy of new people initially so would like a home where he has the ability to be separated, taking himself away to settle if he feels overwhelmed. Albie is up for rehoming through our homestay scheme meaning he is staying in the comforts of his own home whilst we find a home for him, he therefore is not based at the rehoming centre. Is Albie right for you?Introducing Albie, he's a 7 year old Dachshund seeking a home where he can settle his paws. Albie loves the quiet life, enjoying gentle strolls and snoozing the afternoon away under his blanket. He can be a sensitive soul, taking a little time to warm up to new people and being worried by loud noises, but he shows his cheeky side when his favourite squeaky toys come out! Albie is used to being left alone for longer periods so wouldn't mind doing so again once he is settled into his new home, he doesn't mind heading off for a trip in the car either.

Bonnie, a 3 years old female Dachshund available for adoption from The Red Foundation in the UK

Bonnie

North Weston
SexFemale
Age3 years
BreedDachshund

Bonnie is a gorgeous, typical mini dachshund who is looking for a home that understands the “big dog in a small body” lifestyle. Indoors, she is an absolute dream; if you’re sitting down, Bonnie is likely curled up on your lap, fast asleep. She is a world-class snuggler who lives for affection and a good game of fetch in the garden. When it comes to other dogs, Bonnie is a bit of a mixed bag. She currently lives happily with another mini dachshund and has been a perfect guest at dog sitters with various small-to-medium breeds. However, like many of her breed, she takes her “guard dog” duties very seriously. She will certainly let you know if the doorbell rings or if a rival dog dares to appear on the television! The main area where Bonnie needs a dedicated and patient hand is on her walks. She struggles with reactivity and will often bark, growl, or lunge at other dogs. While she has never bitten or had a specific “bad experience” to cause this, she finds the outside world quite overwhelming. Her owners have tried to work on this with a trainer, but she remains a work in progress and currently prefers being walked in quiet, calm environments to keep her stress levels down. Bonnie also deals with some separation anxiety. Even with her canine companion nearby, she can have the occasional accident in the kitchen when left alone for short periods. She is looking for a patient owner who is home often and willing to continue working on her confidence and toileting manners. If you have a lap that needs filling and a heart big enough to help a sensitive girl find her brave face, Bonnie will reward you with endless loyalty and the sweetest cuddles you could ask for. Buster

Buster is £450 Buster was recently rescued by his current owner as he was being left crated for long hours in his original home and not given the time and attention that he needed, which was causing him to become increasingly anxious. His current owner describes him as a very gentle and affectionate boy who deserves a home where he can receive the love, companionship, and stability he truly needs. He has come on leaps and bounds since being in his current home but needs a more active home with regular walks and outdoor time to burn off his energy. This sweet boy is full of energy. He is getting used to car rides, loves long walks and playing in parks with other dogs. Buster doesn’t mind other dogs but can be reactive whilst on the lead. Buster hasn’t been around children so we feel he would be best suited to a calm, adult(s) only or loving family with teenage children who can provide him with companionship and plenty of cuddles. He will need help settling in to his new home and lots of gentle guidance to help him grow into a confident, happy boy. In return, he will bring endless love, energy, and joy into your life.
