About All Creatures Great and Small

All Creatures Great and Small Animal Sanctuary is a long-established animal welfare charity dedicated to providing care, rehabilitation, and safe accommodation for animals in need. Based in Wales, the sanctuary offers medical treatment and lifelong care to animals that cannot be rehomed, while actively working to find suitable homes for domestic pets whenever possible. The charity operates a strict non-euthanasia policy, with veterinary intervention only used to prevent unnecessary suffering, and places strong emphasis on education and responsible animal care within the local community. Founded in 1992 by animal welfare campaigner Vivienne Harris, the sanctuary has helped thousands of animals over the decades and continues her legacy of compassion, advocacy, and lifelong protection for vulnerable animals.

BreedCollie

Cai is a lovable young boy eager for a new adventure! This handsome pup comes from a working line, and he has a strong passion for training. However, his attention span is quite short, and he’ll let you know when he’s had enough by grabbing his favourite toy and playfully throwing it at you, using your head as a target is one of his favourite moves! Then, he’s right back to the “let’s play fetch for ages!” position.Cai would thrive with active adopters with lots of space, who understand collies and can provide him with the exercise, mental stimulation, enrichment, and training he needs. His current favourite toy is a plastic chicken, which he has hilariously bounced off a few staff members’ heads, his enthusiasm truly knows no bounds!

Koby is a bouncy boy in search of a loving new home!Koby came into us with the information that he was 11 years old & although Koby does appear (going off looks) to be older, after a vet visit, it turns out that they believe he is only 2-3!He requires compassionate adopters since we can’t guarantee his house training status, and he has already changed homes three times that we know of. This sweet boy is in urgent need of a stable environment for the rest of his life.

Squish’s journey to us is a heart wrenching one, as he arrived due to serious issues within his family home. See “reason for my surrender” section.Eventually, the situation became untenable, with both the child and Squish needing to be kept permanently separated. The family recognized that this was unfair to them both and made the very difficult decision to surrender him to our rescue, hoping to find him a predominantly adult only home where he can truly thrive.Squish is in need of a quiet, stress free environment where he can comfortably settle into his senior years. Remarkably, he has adapted well to kennel life, likely due to his past experiences in boarding kennels.

Tanzi, a 2 years old female German Shepherd available for adoption from All Creatures Great And Small in Wales

BreedGerman Shepherd

We’ve all quickly fallen in love with Tanzi! She has adapted beautifully to kennel life and enjoys going for walks with our staff & volunteers.Full of energy, Tanzi loves to greet everyone with enthusiastic jumps, not quite aware of her size! She thrives on affection and is genuinely a sweet girl. We have a list of cues from her previous owners, and our team is working closely with her to discover the tricks she knows. We are currently focusing on “recall” with her & “loose lead walking”.Tanzi is both muzzle trained and crate trained. Her previous owners reported that she was perfectly fine being crated for a few hours (2-3) and adapted well to that routine. It’s important for her to have a crate in her new home, as it helps maintain her established routine. Tanzi would benefit from adopters who ideally have large breed experience.
