Meet Brian! This Sweet Senior is Searching for a Cozy Home!Brian is an absolute sweetheart to be around. Our team has helped him settle in well, and he adjusted to the rescue routine very quickly. He enjoys his walks and loves spending time outdoors with his handlers. While Brian can be a bit nervous about noises and sudden movements right now, this is completely normal given his new surroundings.Brian has had two homes that we know of. He was surrendered from his first home six years ago when his owner went into the hospital. A family member then took him in, which ultimately led to him being in our care now. Meet Cai, a charming young boy ready for a new adventure!This handsome pup hails from a working line and has a genuine enthusiasm for training. However, his attention span can be short. When he’s had enough, he playfully lets you know by grabbing his favourite toy and tossing it at you, using your head or back as a target is one of his favourite tricks! But don’t worry, he quickly shifts back to “let’s play fetch for ages!” mode. Cai is more motivated by toys than treats, though his interest can vary based on his environment and mood.Cai would thrive with active adopters who have plenty of space and understand the needs of collies. He requires exercise, mental stimulation, enrichment, and training to flourish. This spirited boy loves living life in the fast lane, and his new family will need to keep up!

Cherry is an exceptionally sweet and gentle dog, embodying the spirit of a gentle giant. When she first arrived, she had a really tough time adjusting to kennel life, often crying and howling throughout the entire day, which was truly heart breaking to witness. Fortunately, with the team’s abundant love and care, she has settled in beautifully and has calmed down significantly.Cherry has a love for treats and already knows how to “sit.” She enjoys cuddles and loves to dash around our enclosed fields during her outdoor walks, often getting the zoomies! She adores toys and happily selects her favourites from the toy boxes. We believe this gorgeous girl will make a devoted companion and quickly form a strong bond. Hewey is an extremely, lively 2 year old crossbreed lurcher, believed to have some collie in him due to his eye colour, with the majority of his lineage being lurcher. He’s quite the jumper and loves to leap up at people with full speed! A speedy boy, he requires a foster or adopter with 7-8 ft fencing, as he can easily jump at least 7 ft that we know of.Hewey can be a bit nervous in new environments and is still adjusting to life in our rescue kennels. He enjoys spending time off lead in our secure fields with his favourite humans, quickly forming bonds with the animal welfare staff. He’s also a big fan of toys (he much prefers toys to treats!) and has a particular love for water, especially running taps! However, he can resource guard his toys, so further advice is available from our dog assessor, Gary Mathlin.While he may eventually adjust to life here, we prefer to place him in an experienced foster or permanent home where he can decompress and show his true personality. We are looking for an adult only home with experience in collies or lurchers, particularly with highly strung dogs, who understand the importance of allowing a dog to come out of his shell at his own pace. You will work closely with our Dog Advisor, Gary Mathlin, so ideally, you should be located in the Torfaen, Newport, or Monmouthshire areas for this foster role.

Sid is an adorable Frenchie on the lookout for his forever home!Sid enjoys a balanced lifestyle with medium level exercise, typically going for off lead walks twice a day. His previous owner told us about his excellent recall, so you can rest assured he’ll be a well behaved companion on those adventures! Our Dog Assessor/Trainer, Gary Mathlin, can advise more on safe off lead outtings A true cuddle enthusiast, Sid loved snuggling up in bed in his previous home and was always ready for a cozy night in.

Squish’s journey to us is truly heart wrenching. He arrived due to serious issues within his family home – please see the “Reason for My Surrender” section for details. Eventually, the situation became untenable, requiring Squish and the child to be kept permanently apart. They couldn’t even be in the same room, as Squish was extremely terrified and anxious. The family recognised the unfairness of the situation for both of them and made the difficult decision to surrender him to our rescue, hoping to find him a predominantly adult only home where he can truly thrive.Squish needs a quiet, stress free environment to settle comfortably into his senior years. He has been in the kennels for around nine months, and it breaks our hearts to think he is one of our longest staying residents.Despite his challenges, Squish is a bright and energetic boy who loves playing football and enjoys a good game of fetch. He greets everyone with a wagging tail and a joyful demeanour, showcasing his affectionate nature. He has a favourite scratch spot under his right ear, and when playing fetch, he excels at dropping the ball right at your feet or on your lap if you’re seated, no need to get up to throw it! He knows many tricks, including “sit,” “down,” “touch,” “middle,” and “place.”

We’ve all quickly fallen for Tanzi! She has adapted wonderfully to kennel life and loves going for walks with our staff and volunteers. Full of energy, Tanzi greets everyone with enthusiastic jumps, often unaware of her size! She thrives on affection and is truly a sweet girl. She adores attention and loves playing football! We have a list of cues from her previous owners, and our team is working closely with her to uncover the tricks she knows. Right now, we’re focusing on “recall” and “loose lead walking.”According to her previous owner, Tanzi is both muzzle trained and crate trained. They reported that she was perfectly fine being crated for a few hours (2-3) and adapted well to that routine. It’s essential for her to have a crate in her new home to help maintain her established routine. Tanzi would thrive with adopters who ideally have experience with large breeds, as she is very bouncy and playful!
