Ajax, a 2 years old male Dobermann available for adoption from Dogs Trust in Essex

Dogs Trust

Ajax

Essex
SexMale
Age2 years
BreedDobermann

Are you right for Ajax? Ajax is a lively young lad, just 2 years old, bursting with energy and enthusiasm for life. He is confident and excitable when meeting new people and loves attention, but he will need patient, understanding owners who can help him channel that excitement in positive ways. Ajax has ongoing training needs and will thrive in a home committed to continuing his learning at his pace. He cannot be left alone for long periods, so time spent building up his confidence with being left will be essential. Our Training and Behaviour team will be on hand to offer guidance and support to help Ajax settle and succeed in his new home. Ajax has mild hip dysplasia which is not currently requiring any treatment. Our Rehoming Centre team will be happy to discuss this in more detail with potential adopters. Is Ajax right for you? Ajax is a high-energy dog who will suit an active home that can meet both his physical and mental needs. He loves exploring new places and is very alert to his surroundings. When meeting other dogs, Ajax can feel conflicted and may appear excitable, shy, or worried, so he will need continued socialisation and careful introductions. He cannot live with cats, other dogs, small furries, or children, as he currently has limited impulse control, but he can enjoy having calm walking buddies. With structure, patience, and consistent training, Ajax has the potential to grow into a wonderful companion for the right person who is ready to invest time, understanding, and love into his journey. Due to his excitable nature, Ajax will need multiple meets with potential adopters.

Dogs Trust

Alvie

Scotland
SexMale
Age2 years
BreedLabrador

Are you right for Alvie? Stunning youngster Alvie is a 2 year old Lab who has more energy than he knows what to do with! Our behaviour team would be happy to work alongside his new family to support with these behaviours during and after his adoption. Although Alvie is a very sociable fella, he'd love to make friends whilst out and about on his walks, but he'd be best placed as the only dog in the home at the moment, and to have quick access into a garden space of some sort. This gorgeous golden boy has had an unsettled start in life so is looking for an experienced and dedicated family who can help him thrive. Is Alvie right for you? Adorable Alvie is able to be left home alone for around 4 hours once he is settled. As a typical Lab, he does love his food so he is eager to learn tricks for some tasty treats! Alvie is also not the biggest fan of the car, so wouldn't be keen to plan any big road trips at the moment. Alvie has some ongoing medical requirements that our vet team can discuss in more detail with his future family. He would love to meet his family several times at the centre, and have some sleepovers, before he is adopted to help set him up for success, as he has had multiple homes already. This handsome lad is a huge personality and he is super playful - he's going to make a very rewarding addition to a committed family. Animal Welfare licence number is AWE02, as licenced by Glasgow City Council.

Amara, a 1 year old female Staffordshire Bull Terrier available for adoption from Dogs Trust in Scotland

Dogs Trust

Amara

Scotland
SexFemale
Age1 year
BreedStaffordshire Bull Terrier

Are you right for Amara? Amara is a gorgeous 1 year old Staffie Cross who is a typical bull breed - bursting with love and energy! She loves playtime and always wants to be part of the action. Amara can make dog friends whilst out and about on her walks, but at the moment she'd be best suited as the only dog in the home. Amara can get overwhelmed in busy areas, so we'd recommend keeping her on a lead and muzzle in these situations. Any children should be around secondary school age due to her unknown background. Is Amara right for you? Amara can be quite energetic and bouncy at times, so would benefit from her own garden, but this isn't essential, as long as she gets sufficient daily exercise. Tug of war is Amara's favourite, but she's also partial to a game of football! We have very limited information about her history, so she is hoping to find a family who can continue her training, including building her confidence up. Our vet team have identified that she has luxating patellas, but we can advise her potential family about this further, prior to her adoption. Animal Welfare licence number is AWE02, as licenced by Glasgow City Council.

Angel, a 10 years old female Boston Terrier available for adoption from Dogs Trust in Greater London

Dogs Trust

Angel

Greater London
SexFemale
Age10 years
BreedBoston Terrier

Are you right for Angel? Angel is a 10-year-old Boston Terrier with the sweetest soul who would love her new family to give her a safe space to call home. Due to being partially sighted and hard of hearing, Angel will need to be given adequate time to settle into the home before being left alone. Eventually, her leave hours could be built up to 4 hours as long as this includes breaks. Angel could live with another dog, as long as they are well-matched, pending meets at the centre. Angel could also live with primary-aged children, provided they can understand her needs as an older dog with some medical needs. Angel may benefit from having a safe space in the home, such as a crate, so that she has somewhere separate for rest, for example, overnight or when being left alone. She does have some medical considerations that will be discussed with our team, pending a booking. Is Angel right for you? Angel by name, Angel by nature. Little Angel has so much love to give and loves to be showered with affection by her handlers. Angel gets all the snacks she desires, her favourite is cheese, and she loves to play raggy with her toys! She always greets handlers with a wiggly bum and will come running over for cuddles. She really is a little ray of sunshine and will make the perfect little lap dog for her lucky new family! Apply to adopt today and favourite Angel!

Angus, a 7 years old male Lurcher available for adoption from Dogs Trust in Merseyside

Dogs Trust

Angus

Merseyside
SexMale
Age7 years
BreedLurcher

Are you right for Angus? Angus is looking for a home where he will be the only dog, and any children over the age of 14. He is house trained but will need someone at home with him all day initially whilst he settles in, as he has previously shown signs of being distressed if left alone. He will need multiple meets at the centre and a sleepover or two before going home for good. Is Angus right for you? If you're looking for a cuddle buddy then your search is over! Angus has ambitions of being a lap dog and folds his legs as small as he can in an attempt to get close to his favourite people. He gets very excited when he sees his handlers and just adores being made a fuss of, and loves being taken out for his walks. When out and about, Angus is strong on his lead and his carers have worked on his interactions with other dogs, and he can now walk close to others without worry. He's a confident boy who loves to explore new spaces and views any bed as his own, quickly plonking himself down in one! Angus arrived in our care as a stray, and we're pretty sure he has been used as a working dog as he has scars on his face and is missing a small part of his lip. It doesn't hinder him in any way and certainly doesn't affect his strong, handsome face. Due to his background, we do walk Angus muzzled to protect our wildlife, and he isn't bothered one bit by this. Angus is a very loving dog who deserves a brighter future at the heart of a family. He's a joy to be with and will bring immense pleasure to his new family.

Anna, a 4 years old female Greyhound available for adoption from Dogs Trust in Merseyside

Dogs Trust

Anna

Merseyside
SexFemale
Age4 years
BreedGreyhound

Are you right for Anna? Anna can live with other Greyhounds and upper primary aged children. She is an ex-racing dog and we have no real history for her, and she is unlikely to be used to living in a home. Is Anna right for you? Anna is a very affectionate Greyhound who loves to be close to you and her soft, dense fur makes her very hard to resist. She knows that we often have treats in our pockets and bags and she will sneakily poke her long snout in there when you think she's coming for a cuddle! Anna is very calm on her walks but can be a little unsure when meeting other breeds of dog, due to a lack of exposure to them. She gets along fabulously with her kennel mate Flint and they are often cuddled up together, and she could live with another well matched Greyhound. Anna loves to say hello to people and will happily put her paws on your shoulder to get nice and close! It's likely Anna has never been in a home before so please be patient with her house training and getting used to spending time lone. Greyhounds often pick up toilet training very quickly and usually nap when alone.

Arnie, a 9 years old male Terrier available for adoption from Dogs Trust in Warwickshire

Dogs Trust

Arnie

Warwickshire
SexMale
Age9 years
BreedTerrier

Are you right for Arnie? Arnie is a handsome 9-year-old Staffy who is looking for a loving home with his best friend, Sally. He is a friendly, affectionate boy who enjoys meeting new people and gets on well with other dogs. Arnie is fully housetrained, can be left for a few hours, and could happily live with primary school-aged children. He is a playful and fun-loving companion, loves his toys and enjoys games of fetch and tug-of-war. When playtime is over, he's more than happy to curl up for a cuddle with his favourite people. Arnie can be a little sensitive when being handled around his feet, so he would benefit from an understanding family who can respect his boundaries. This sweet-natured boy is ready to find a forever home where he and Sally can continue enjoying life together. Is Arnie right for you? This dog is currently being rehomed under our Homestay scheme. Under this scheme, the dog stays with their current owner until the point of adoption, when ownership transfers briefly to Dogs Trust and then to the new adopters. The benefits of Homestay for a dog are that it minimises disruption and prevents the dog having to come into kennels, however there is the potential the owner may pull out of the scheme prior to adoption. We understand the upset this may cause to potential adopters, and we work closely with owners to minimise the likelihood of this. However, it remains a possibility, and should this occur, Dogs Trust will prioritise finding adopters an alternative suitable dog.
